- I Need To Find A Way To Make Her Love Me Again
- Chapter 8 - Unexpected Meeting Inside the Sea Monster's Belly
Both individuals dropped the pretense they usually maintained when meeting. Li Mufeng said coldly, “Senior Sister, you actually cultivated the Demonic Dao. I will definitely report this to Master and have you expelled from the sect.”
Liu Ruoni shook her head and replied, “Junior Brother, you really are strict with others but lenient with yourself.”
“Just because I accidentally saw you holding the Demon Realm Desire Bell, you wanted to kill me, and now you want to ruin my reputation and drive me out of the sect.”
“If your Junior Brothers and Sisters saw this side of you, would they still follow you?”
A trace of surprise flashed in Li Mufeng’s eyes, but he remained uncompromising: “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m going to apprehend you and take you back to the mountain for Master’s judgment.”
As he spoke, spirit energy gathered at his hand, transforming into a thousand-blade condensed sword. He flew toward Liu Ruoni, attacking her. However, the woman’s mouth curved into a smile. She remained still on the Blood Swallow, merely waving a bloody hand to completely block all of the incoming attacks.
Only then did Li Mufeng realize that his Senior Sister’s displayed strength was vastly different from what she usually showed. Sensing trouble, he tried to turn and retreat.
Liu Ruoni knew her Junior Brother was a clever one, especially adept at being flexible when needed. She had seen through his little scheme and would not let him leave.
The next second, he was grabbed by countless bloody hands, which brought Li Mufeng before her. She chuckled, “Junior Brother, if you hadn’t put on this facade and instead used the Desire Bell to control the nearby sea monsters to deal with me, you wouldn’t have been defeated so quickly.”
Li Mufeng remained silent upon hearing this, only glaring fiercely at the other party, saying, “Senior Sister, you will regret treating me like this.”
Liu Ruoni gave a contemptuous smile and said, “Junior Brother, you are not that important.”
With that, she reached out, retrieved the Desire Bell hidden in Li Mufeng’s robes, and injected spirit energy to activate it. The bell moved soundlessly, but several dark shadows emerged from the sea.
Li Mufeng’s heart trembled at the sight. He urgently asked, “What are you trying to do?”
Liu Ruoni only smiled, without speaking another word to him. She rode the Swallow and flew toward Yan Xingyu. Behind her, only a roar of sea waves was heard, and then nothing more.
Yan Xingyu watched as Liu Ruoni instantly had the sea monster bite off Li Mufeng’s head. In the blink of an eye, one less cultivator existed in this world, leaving only a floating corpse on the sea surface.
This woman was more decisive and ruthless than she had imagined. She was curious how she made the sea monster obey her, and she voiced this question out loud.
Liu Ruoni shook the bell in her hand and said, “The Demon Realm Desire Bell cannot control them. It only guides them to gather together.”
“It is the real reason I came here. Now that I have the item, I can go back.”
Yan Xingyu “oh'” and said, “Alright, aren’t you going to collect your Junior Brother’s corpse for him?”
Liu Ruoni burst out laughing upon hearing this: “Miss Yan, do I look like such a kind-hearted person?”
Indeed, she didn’t. Yan Xingyu said, “I was just being kind and reminding you because I was worried you might not have an explanation for your Junior Brothers and Sisters when you go back.”
Liu Ruoni smiled sweetly and said, “That is something Miss Yan should worry about, after all, you were the one who ‘lured’ my Junior Brother out.”
At this point, Yan Xingyu finally understood the other party’s scheme. But then again, she wasn’t a disciple of their sect, and from now on, they had no more ties. This was none of her business. So, she snorted and said, “Fine, now we are even.”
Liu Ruoni’s eyes shifted, and she said, “There is one more thing Miss Yan owes me.”
Yan Xingyu asked, confused, “What else do I owe you?”
Liu Ruoni slowly said, “My request was for Miss Yan to lure the person out. But you said your spirit energy wasn’t enough, so to ensure our agreement was fulfilled, I had to help you.”
“However, helping you is not my obligation, so Miss Yan must pay the cost of the Mysterious Spirit Talismans for us to be truly even. One talisman is one hundred gold, two are two hundred.”
“Miss Yan, how soon can you settle the payment?”
Yan Xingyu had not expected this additional twist. Looking at the woman’s smile, she felt a terrible sense of deja vu, the features overlapping with those of her former Boss. Remembering how she was always inexplicably indebted to her in her previous life, she couldn’t help but twitch her mouth.
This awful feeling she absolutely could not fall into the same trap again. She absolutely would not be manipulated again by owing a mountain of debt everywhere. With this thought, she painfully pulled out the hundred gold she had just earned and handed it over.
Liu Ruoni took it, counted it, and her eyebrow raised upon seeing the incorrect amount. “Miss Yan, it’s not enough. This is only a hundred gold.”
Yan Xingyu pulled out the remaining Mysterious Spirit Talisman and said, “I haven’t used this one yet. I’m returning it to you.”
Just as she was about to hand it over, an unexpected crisis erupted from the seabed. A sea monster with a fish body, a snake head, and six massive wings soared toward them.
Seeing this, the two quickly separated. To their surprise, the sea monster’s target was very clear. It snapped its head toward Yan Xingyu and opened its mouth to bite.
Liu Ruoni saw that something was wrong and flew over, trying to rescue her, but she was a step too late. The sea monster had already swallowed the person and retreated into the sea.
She quickly chased after it, but in the blink of an eye, the sea monster vanished. Looking at the vast sea surface, Liu Ruoni thought, This is bad.
The moment Yan Xingyu was swallowed by the sea monster, she instantly used the Mysterious Spirit Talisman, turning Little Silver into a silver sphere and hiding inside it.
Looking at the vanishing talisman in her hand, her inner thought was: Where am I going to earn another hundred gold?!
Yan Xingyu wanted to cry, but she felt the abundant spirit energy in her body and decided to go on a killing spree inside the sea monster’s belly.
However, after emerging from the silver sphere, she saw no blood, flesh, or internal organs. What appeared before her were semi-transparent, reddish-brown lotus petals attached to the sea monster’s inner walls.
Yan Xingyu walked closer and observed for a while, noticing that the lotus petals were slightly contracting and expanding, as if they were breathing.
Seeing a path ahead, Yan Xingyu walked forward. As she ventured deeper, the color of the surrounding lotus petals became progressively darker.
A gigantic fiery lotus suddenly appeared. A woman was suspended in the center of the corolla. The blood-red corolla wrapped around her like tentacles, contrasting sharply with her faded dark-colored gown.
The woman’s eyes suddenly opened, and she looked at the person with an emotionless expression, asking, “How did you get here?”
Yan Xingyu stared wide eyed at the person before her. Isn’t that Yirong? Why is she tied up?
Not hearing an answer, Yirong sighed faintly, tilted her head slightly, and exhaled a breath that formed a mass of black mist in the air. Yan Xingyu saw this, thought the other party was going to attack her, and instinctively turned and ran.
Yirong couldn’t help but frown. She separated a wisp of her divine consciousness and transformed it into a clone to chase after the other person.
Seeing someone chasing her, Yan Xingyu ran faster, saying to Little Silver while running, “It’s really a case of encountering an enemy in a narrow path. What should we do now?”
Little Silver said, “Master, we definitely can’t beat her. Hurry up and run.”
Yan Xingyu said, “I understand the logic, but…”
Before she could finish, the person behind her had already caught up. Seeing the hand reaching toward her, Yan Xingyu turned around and stabbed forward with her short dagger.
After several rounds of fighting between the two, Little Silver’s words were quickly proven true: she couldn’t beat her. Yan Xingyu looked at the woman who had grabbed both her wrists and asked her, “Why are you running?”
Yan Xingyu thought: If I don’t run, am I supposed to be captured and stabbed by you? Thinking this, but now unable to run, she secretly asked, “Little Silver, what will it feel like if I’m stabbed to death?”
“Master, you won’t die, but it will hurt a lot.”
Yan Xingyu seemed to hear the helplessness in Little Silver’s tone. The two of them were truly a pair of miserable master and pet in the same boat now.
But who could she blame when her spirit energy was weak and her skills were inferior? She could only prepare herself mentally, closed her eyes, and looked ready to bravely meet her end.
Seeing the other party in this state, Yirong’s eyes flickered, but she merely continued what she had started. She blew out a mass of black mist that drifted toward Yan Xingyu, watching as it slowly began to envelop the person.
After a long time, no pain came. Yan Xingyu half-opened her eyes to see what was happening. She saw the woman opposite her just quietly looking at her. Feeling something at her feet, she looked down and saw a mass of black mist clinging to her side.
“What are you doing?”
“Sending you away.”
Yan Xingyu was confused. Is it the kind of ‘leaving’ she’s thinking of?
Yirong watched as the black mist completely enveloped the person, lifting her into the air. She summoned a black shadow fish to swim ahead, instructing it to take her away.
Suddenly, the entire space inside the sea monster’s belly began to violently shake. A bloody hand reached down from above, firmly grabbing Yan Xingyu and swiftly dragging her outward.
The suddenness of it stunned both women. The captured Yan Xingyu felt even more nervous. What is happening now? She looked up and saw a tear ripped open by countless bloody hands, revealing that thin, smiling, bony face.
“Miss Yan, I finally found you.”
