- Which Fierce Alpha Disguises as a Beta to Abduct a Wife?
- Chapter 17 - He Stayed with Me All Night
Zhou Yunqiu shot up from his seat and asked urgently, “How long has it been?”
“It’s been almost two hours since I lost him. I… I… I’m sorry…”
“Finding him is what matters.” Zhou Yunqiu looked at Jiang Huaiyan. “Xiao Yi is missing. We have to go find him immediately; he’s in a very fragile state right now.”
Jiang Huaiyan’s thick brows furrowed. “He wouldn’t go as far as to seek death.”
“But he could still be in danger. He’s an Omega; if he runs into an Alpha with ill intentions…” Worried sick, Zhou Yunqiu immediately headed for the door. “Let’s go look for him now.”
Jiang Huaiyan didn’t refuse and followed closely behind Zhou Yunqiu.
They dispatched people to search several places where Xiao Yi usually hung out, but there was no sign of him. The Xiao family was so frantic they almost called the police, repeatedly demanding to know what had happened that night.
Zhou Yunqiu found it difficult to explain that they had a falling out over Jiang Huaiyan, so he only said they had a minor argument. Facing the accusatory glares from the Xiao family, Zhou Yunqiu was consumed by guilt, somewhat regretting his impulsiveness earlier that night.
“The Young Master wouldn’t start a conflict for no reason.” Jiang Huaiyan stepped in front of Zhou Yunqiu, shielding him from the Xiao family’s gaze.
Xiao Yi’s father’s expression changed instantly; this was essentially implying his son was the one at fault.
“Instead of assigning blame now, it’s better to focus on finding him first.” Jiang Huaiyan protected Zhou Yunqiu as they walked out. “Stay with me and don’t leave my sight.”
Zhou Yunqiu bit his lip, his heart racing with a heat he couldn’t hide. The way he just stood up for me was so cool.
Back in the car, Jiang Huaiyan’s phone suddenly rang. His expression shifted slightly when he saw the message.
Xiao Yi: “Come find me. I can keep the secret of you being an Alpha for you. Come alone.” A location address was attached at the end.
“Is there news?” Zhou Yunqiu asked.
“A bit, but I can’t take you with me. That area is a little dangerous.” As he spoke, Jiang Huaiyan called Duan Mingxu, asking him to send people to protect Zhou Yunqiu.
Zhou Yunqiu looked dissatisfied. “Why can’t I go where you can go?”
“Because I have the skills for it and I’m a Beta; I won’t be affected by pheromones.”
Zhou Yunqiu: “…”
He mumbled grumpily, “You’re the one who told me not to leave your sight.”
“Should I send someone else to find him then?”
“No, you go.” Zhou Yunqiu didn’t trust anyone else, but he trusted Jiang Huaiyan’s abilities. With him there, it was practically a guaranteed success. “Go on, then. Come back as soon as you find him.”
“Mm. Stay put and don’t wander off,” Jiang Huaiyan instructed, handing him over to the care of his subordinates.
An hour later, Jiang Huaiyan found Xiao Yi.
Xiao Yi tried to throw himself into his arms while crying. Jiang Huaiyan stopped him immediately. “What is your goal?”
Xiao Yi’s tears fell like rain. “Now you won’t even let me hug you?”
“I have never hugged you.” Jiang Huaiyan’s expression was cold and hard.
“Jiang Huaiyan, I love you so much. Why are you so cruel to me? Zhou Yunqiu is nothing but an absolute playboy; there will be no future for you two.”
“He was worried about you. To protect your reputation, he took the responsibility for the argument on himself, yet you say this about him behind his back.” Jiang Huaiyan sneered.
Xiao Yi’s face flushed with embarrassment, but he quickly turned angry. “Why are you always speaking up for him?”
“I am stating facts. Originally, I didn’t have to come looking for you at all; he was the one who told me to come.” If Zhou Yunqiu had insisted on not letting him go, Jiang Huaiyan could have sent his own men to find him while ensuring his Alpha identity wasn’t leaked. But since the matter started because of him, Zhou Yunqiu had let him come.
Xiao Yi turned red at his words. In just a few sentences, the gap between them was clear. In Jiang Huaiyan’s heart, he couldn’t compare to Zhou Yunqiu.
On what grounds? Just because he’s better looking than me? Even if I’m not as pretty, I’m still an Omega.
He suddenly lunged and hugged Jiang Huaiyan tightly, frantically releasing his Omega pheromones in an attempt to trigger an early rut for the Alpha. As long as Jiang Huaiyan entered his rut, he could become Jiang Huaiyan’s man. By then, no matter how much Zhou Yunqiu liked him, he would have no choice but to give him up. The Xiao family wouldn’t be able to force him to marry another Alpha either.
Sensing the thick, cloying sweetness of the Omega pheromones, Jiang Huaiyan’s expression changed drastically. He unceremoniously shoved Xiao Yi’s hands away and released a surge of overwhelming, oppressive Alpha pheromones.
Xiao Yi didn’t expect Jiang Huaiyan to be so ruthless. He immediately fell to the ground, screaming in agony, “Ah—it hurts so much…”
Instead of stopping, Jiang Huaiyan continued to exert pressure. The Omega couldn’t handle the crushing weight of the Alpha’s presence; his whole body began to tremble, and his tears flowed even more violently.
Only when Jiang Huaiyan was sure Xiao Yi no longer had the strength to seduce him did he withdraw his pheromones. He looked down with cold eyes. “One should have a bit of self-awareness. If you’re rejected, move on to the next. Forced love isn’t sweet.”
Xiao Yi’s internal pheromones had been attacked by the Alpha and were now surging wildly through his body, making him gasp for air in pain.
“As for the matter of me being an Alpha…”
Xiao Yi interrupted him hurriedly. “Take me to the hospital. Don’t answer Zhou Yunqiu’s calls tonight. That is my condition for not leaking your identity.”
Jiang Huaiyan thought for two seconds and agreed. “Deal.”
“Carry me out. I can’t walk right now.” Xiao Yi was indeed in a state of extreme weakness.
Knowing he wasn’t faking, Jiang Huaiyan picked him up. “This is the last time.”
Xiao Yi held him tightly, leaning his head against his shoulder with a triumphant smile. “I won’t be so out of line in the future.”
Jiang Huaiyan didn’t reply, simply carrying him out.
Not far away, Zhou Yunqiu—who had arrived after receiving a message from Xiao Yi—just happened to see Jiang Huaiyan carrying Xiao Yi into the car before driving away.
“Jiang Huaiyan!” Zhou Yunqiu roared in anger.
But the distance between the two cars was too great; Jiang Huaiyan couldn’t hear him at all. Fuming, he pulled out his phone and frantically dialed Jiang Huaiyan’s number.
Jiang Huaiyan didn’t pick up a single call.
What is the meaning of this? He actually dares to ignore my calls. Does he want to rebel? Or has he already chosen Xiao Yi?
This suspicion made Zhou Yunqiu explode with rage. He turned to the driver. “Call Jiang Huaiyan right now and tell him to get his ass over here to see me.”
The driver was so terrified by the shouting that his heart rattled. He tremblingly took out his phone and dialed Jiang Huaiyan. This time, Jiang Huaiyan answered quickly. “What’s wrong?”
Zhou Yunqiu snatched the phone away and screamed into it, “You dare to ignore this Young Master’s calls? Jiang Huaiyan, have you grown too big for your boots?”
Beep—beep—beep— The call was hung up again.
Zhou Yunqiu was so angry he threw the phone out. The driver felt a pang of heartache for his phone but didn’t dare make a sound.
“Take me back to the hotel!” Zhou Yunqiu barked the address.
Since you won’t answer the phone, then don’t ever answer it. Don’t come back to find me either. Go stay with your precious Xiao Yi.
Back at the hotel, Zhou Yunqiu was still livid, pummeling his pillows as if they were Jiang Huaiyan.
Jiang Huaiyan, you dare to ignore my calls, and you even dared to hang up on me. You bastard, bastard, bastard! I’m going to have my brother fire you!
Zhou Yunqiu was too angry to sleep, staring at the ceiling until dawn. In the early morning, before he could drift off, he received a text from Xiao Yi: “He stayed with me all night,” followed by an attached photo.
