- Chapter 2 - "Don't Get Close to Me Casually."
Song Yu’s curly hair was damp and plastered to his face. He shrank back slightly, lifting his gaze bit by bit to look at the school bully standing before him.
“S-s-sorry…”
Lu Qiwen’s face showed no expression, and the black-gray pajamas he had just changed into were also soaked through.
He raised his hand to turn off the water faucet, casting a sinister glance at Song Yu. “So this is what you call knowing how to do it?”
“Are you messing with me on purpose?”
Hearing this, Song Yu panicked. He shook his head vigorously and quickly raised his hand, holding up three fingers. “I swear to heaven! I absolutely didn’t!”
In the bathroom, the shorter boy’s shirt lifted with the movement, revealing a pale, slender waist.
Lu Qiwen’s gaze shifted to the side, his tongue impatiently pressing against his lip ring a few times.
Song Yu coughed guiltily a few times, silently lowering his hand and reaching out to tug at the hem of Lu Qiwen’s clothes. “H-how about you take another shower, and I’ll wash your clothes for you?”
Lu Qiwen frowned tightly, avoiding Song Yu’s hand, his tone cold. “Don’t get close to me casually.”
“Keep a distance of at least one meter.”
Only then did Song Yu remember that this person had mysophobia. He quickly withdrew his hand and took two or three steps back.
He lowered his head, seriously considering whether a perfect slide-and-kneel on the spot right now could earn the school bully’s forgiveness.
Lu Qiwen’s expression had already turned very unpleasant. He looked up at Song Yu with agitation, noticing that the other boy’s white shirt was also mostly soaked, clinging tightly to his body. The pale skin on his slender, exposed neck shimmered with a cold light, looking so fragile it seemed as if it could be grasped in one hand.
“Do whatever you want.”
Song Yu: Huh?
This school bully, no, this young master, actually gave him the bathroom to shower first?
He could tolerate being soaked like this?
Was he planning some trick to mess with him later?!
Song Yu stood in the bathroom, thinking for a long time before cautiously poking his head out and calling toward the dorm room, “A-are you okay? Maybe you should take another shower first.”
After waiting for a while, the dorm remained completely silent. Song Yu looked down at his still-dripping shirt, sniffled, and finally decided to make it quick.
When he hurriedly finished his shower and stepped out, he realized Lu Qiwen was no longer in the dorm.
Did he feel uncomfortable showering in the dorm?
Song Yu pondered for a while but couldn’t figure it out. Turning his head, he saw the warm, comfortable bed and couldn’t resist throwing himself onto it.
He hugged the blanket with both hands, the last shreds of his rationality still wondering where the school bully had gone at this hour, but his eyes gradually closed, and before long, soft snores filled the room.
Just then, Lu Qiwen pushed open the dorm room door again.
“Hey, you should go somewhere else toni-”
The utter silence in the dorm cut his unfinished words short. Frowning, he shifted his gaze and saw the blanket slightly raised on the other bed.
“Mmm.” Song Yu’s curly hair, half-damp and half-dry, lay messily on the pillow. His lips were slightly parted, and with each breath, a soft, red tongue peeked out.
Suddenly, he mumbled softly, licking his lips. The originally bright red lips now glistened with moisture. Hugging the blanket, he turned over, revealing a pair of pale, slender legs.
Lu Qiwen expressionlessly took a step back, pressing against the door. His slender peach-blossom eyes half-closed as he stared at the needle marks on his arm, yet he still struggled to suppress the restlessness in his heart.
Just as Lu Qiwen thought Song Yu had finally settled down, he heard the other man clutching the blanket and exclaiming in surprise.
“Wow! Seafood buffet! Giant lobster! Hehe!”
Lu Qiwen: …He was practically torn between anger and laughter.
…
By the time Song Yu woke up, it was almost dark outside. His curly hair was tousled, sticking out in clumps here and there. Squinting, he reached out to check his phone, 7:25 p.m.
“Oh, shit!”
He bolted upright in bed. “Crap, crap, crap! I’m going to be late for the first evening study session of the semester!”
Song Yu hurriedly threw on his clothes and rushed toward the location shared in the class group chat.
When he arrived at the classroom, it was already nearly full. Song Yu quickly found a seat and sat down, just as the system chimed with a notification.
[Ding~ The protagonist shou has appeared.]
He glanced around and, for some reason, his eyes immediately landed on a long-haired boy sitting by the window. The boy looked serious, his eyes tinged with a hint of nervous anticipation.
Even though the moon had just risen, its light streamed through the window and fell on Cheng Yao, enveloping him in a faint, misty glow. Song Yu couldn’t help but marvel inwardly.
Truly the protagonist, radiating that unmistakable halo of main character energy.
“Everyone here is an outstanding student from all over the country. Let’s start with a simple self-introduction~”
Song Yu slumped over the desk, unable to hold back a yawn. He only perked up a little when Cheng Yao stood up.
Even though he had no real connection to this person.
“Hello everyone, I’m Cheng Yao.” Cheng Yao’s shoulder-length hair was casually tied into a small braid, with a few stray strands falling loose. He reached up to tuck them behind his ear, then nodded slightly at the class assistant on the podium before taking his seat.
As soon as he finished speaking, the room erupted in murmurs.
“Is he an omega?”
“Wow, he’s totally my type! A long-haired beauty!”
“Tch.”
Amidst everyone’s admiration, a voice filled with disdain and contempt cut through the chatter.
“He’s nothing but an illegitimate child who can’t be shown in public.”
Song Yu turned his gaze toward the speaker.
The person had flamboyant red hair, and from his pants to his shirt, there wasn’t a single spot that wasn’t red. Song Yu couldn’t help but snicker inwardly.
I bet even his underwear is bright red.
“I’m Zhang Qizhi. If it weren’t for some issues back then, I would have been the top scorer in the country.”
Hearing this, Song Yu immediately straightened up.
Zhang Qizhi!
Wasn’t he the most notorious cannon fodder in the early stages of the original story?
So this was the guy.
Half the class didn’t quite grasp what “illegitimate child” meant, but those who were locals had already figured it out the moment they heard the name.
Still, most people found Zhang Qizhi’s behavior utterly ridiculous.
Finally making it through the evening study session, Song Yu leaned against the dormitory door, feeling completely drained as if all his energy had been sucked out.
Thinking about it now, Song Yu was filled with regret.
If only he had checked whether the lights were on downstairs earlier.
He couldn’t help but pace back and forth in front of the door, biting his lip anxiously.
Suddenly, before Song Yu could even react, he heard a soft “click” as the dormitory door was pushed open from the inside.
In the next moment, a large hand reached out from the pitch-black room, grabbed his wrist, and yanked him inside.
Song Yu: !
