My Sweet And Submissive Bunny Won't Stop Being Clingy - Chapter 29
She had been scolded.
Wen Shuyaoβs throat tightened, and her eyes began to well with tears again. “Meng Hemian, do you… not want me?”
In her mind, she had already played out a tragic vision of a little rabbit denied affection, forced to live a miserable life eating nothing but dry Timothy hay and coarse rabbit kibble every day.
Hearing that aggrieved plea, any anger Meng Hemian had vanished instantly.
She lowered her gaze, still not quite daring to look at Wen Shuyao. “When did I ever say I didn’t want you?”
The sentence was ambiguous. She feared Wen Shuyao might once again produce some world shaking misinterpretation, yet she also feared Wen Shuyao might remain unmoved and oblivious.
Meng Hemian was entirely unfamiliar with the concept of “loving someone” it was something she had never even considered before.
However, “love” itself is like a sprout inside a nut shell, give it water and it grows, regardless of whether the outside world is a fertile field or a barren rocky crevice.
Now that the sprout had finally poked through, it had to see the light before one could know how large it would grow or what kind of fruit it would bear.
Wen Shuyao tilted her head, deeply puzzled. “Then…”
Meng Hemian calmed her heart and reached out to smooth Wen Shuyaoβs crumpled clothes, specifically pulling them down further.
“What kind of ‘repaying with one’s body’ is this? You start taking off your clothes the moment things don’t go your way.”
She didn’t want to see a little rabbit tail at all! Truly!
Wen Shuyao knitted her brows as she recalled the rules of human society, suddenly grabbing Meng Hemianβs sleeve.
“Then should we get married first?”
Meng Hemian: “…… Not exactly.”
“Then what counts as ‘repaying with one’s body’?” Wen Shuyao was extremely conflicted, refusing to let the topic go.
Today, the little rabbit was determined to give herself away.
Meng Hemianβs temples throbbed, especially facing Wen Shuyaoβs eyes, which were full of expectation.
Of all the things she had learned in the past, none had taught her how to reject a little rabbit.
Meng Hemian fell silent.
She was trying to use logic to measure how much of her heart she could give so as not to owe Wen Shuyao.
She thought of every meal Wen Shuyao had cooked for her, all the care and time she had given, to the point of nearly losing her life.
The answer, of course, was unsolvable, all emotional matters in the world are difficult to calculate in terms of gain and loss.
The more one calculates, the more infatuated one becomes.
After a long pause, Meng Hemian cleared her throat, turned her head away, and said in a low voice.
“Let’s date first.”
She had never dated before and felt uncertain, even muttering under her breath, “Is this too fast? It sounds quite irresponsible.”
It felt like she was deceiving a naive little rabbit.
Wen Shuyao gripped Meng Hemianβs sleeve tightly. “Is dating the same as repaying with one’s body? Can we get married after dating?”
“Uh, um, hiss…”
For the first time, Meng Hemian experienced what it was like to be at a loss for words, racking her brain but unable to find the right response.
Wen Shuyao was remarkably understanding about this, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush. “Then I’ll date Meng Hemian first.”
She showed no sign of awkwardness, but Meng Hemian, who had proposed the idea, began to feel uncomfortable.
She felt it was all too sudden, there was none of the legendary ambiguous atmosphere or romantic lighting, no meticulously prepared, nervous confession.
If Wan Xianyu knew about this, she would likely be labeled as “pure love brain.”
With her main concern resolved, Wen Shuyao had space to think about other things.
She asked, “By the way, when did you find out about my identity?”
Meng Hemian originally wanted to tell the truth, but for some reason, she thought of her stolen piece of clothing.
Stealing clothes was wrong, but what about someone who let others steal their clothes?
That seemed… even more wrong.
She hurriedly leaned her head away. “Cough, remember when we went to look at shop spaces? We met someone who wanted to eat wisteria cakes. She said ‘Little Bread’ was actually a rabbit demon.”
“And then…”
Meng Hemian didn’t finish, leaving the rest for Wen Shuyao to fill in. A half-told lie is always the most believable.
Wen Shuyao had a sudden realization.
No wonder Meng Hemian hadn’t been willing to pet her much since then; she had suspected she was no longer favored.
Seeing her silence and fearing the lie might be exposed, Meng Hemian prodded her.
“Do you have anything else to ask?”
This time, it was Wen Shuyaoβs turn to pause suspiciously before shaking her head. “No.”
She didn’t know how to bring up the matter of the false pregnancy.
She was very satisfied with the current outcome and didn’t want any more complications.
Both keeping their own secrets, the atmosphere became strangely stagnant.
Finally, Meng Hemian spoke first. “Um, also…”
She lowered her eyes, a gentle smile appearing. “Thank you for the birthday gift.”
It was definitely the best and most precious gift she had ever received.
Wen Shuyao grew shy upon being praised.
She smiled too, her lips curving into a sweet arc. She didn’t ask about Meng Hemianβs past instead, she tentatively tugged on her sleeve.
“Can you pet me?”
The little rabbitβs mind was full of wanting head pats. Now that they were dating, surely she could be petted openly!
Meng Hemian paused for a moment.
“…Yes,” she added, “I can pet the rabbit.”
As soon as she spoke, Wen Shuyao disappeared. Looking down, a round, yellow-furred little rabbit was staring up at her.
The little rabbit flicked its ears and, within seconds, hopped onto the sofa and sat up straight.
Her whole body was fluffy and soft, her eyes unblinking, already prepared to be petted.
Meng Hemian looked on helplessly. “At least let me put my things down first.”
Under the watchful eye of a little rabbit, she put down her bag, washed and sanitized her hands according to her usual habit, and then sat down with a heart full of nerves.
As soon as she was settled, Wen Shuyao jumped onto her lap and looked up. “Pet me.”
Today was different from the past. Meng Hemian sat upright and formal, lacking her previous casualness. She feared making Wen Shuyao uncomfortable and feared touching somewhere she shouldn’t.
She avoided the rabbit’s ears and gently smoothed the fur on its head.
Little Bread was truly tiny, she could actually cup the rabbit’s head with one hand, rub its cheeks, or even flip it over to rub its belly or pinch its tail.
However, those thoughts only existed in her imagination. Since learning Little Breadβs true identity, Meng Hemian didn’t dare act so recklessly.
She just smoothed the fur again and again, her movements becoming more natural and her rhythm improving.
The little rabbit purred with comfort, flattening out into a warm “rabbit pancake.”
Meng Hemian pursed her lips, tried to resist, but ultimately couldn’t help herself, she gave the fur on the rabbit’s back a good stroke.
The feel was as good as ever, but with that one stroke, the well-behaved rabbit in her arms disappeared.
Now, it was Wen Shuyao sitting astride her lap.
Meng Hemian didn’t have time to adjust her posture, she froze on the spot, her hand still pressed against Wen Shuyaoβs face.
Wen Shuyao had been petted into such a state of bliss that the ears hidden beneath her hair were red enough to bleed. She was dazed, unable to tell where or when she was.
She grabbed Meng Hemianβs wrist, refusing to let her pull away.
Leaning her head, her soft lips brushed against the fingertips, and her hot breath wafted over the palm.
She squinted at Meng Hemian, her gaze misty as if she were drunk, unaware of what she was doing.
Meng Hemian tried to withdraw her hand, but her wrist was held firmly in place, completely beyond her control. Her heart suddenly felt like it was about to leap out of her chest.
As a demon, Wen Shuyao didn’t care about such things.
Like a little rabbit, she sniffed the familiar scent and couldn’t help but extend the tip of her tongue to lick Meng Hemianβs fingers.
She licked in small bites, rubbing against them occasionally, moving earnestly from the rounded fingertips to the soft palm.
The sensation was warm and moist, with a slight itch, like a feather stroking directly into Meng Hemianβs heart, making her want to pull back from the heat.
Wen Shuyao had no idea what she looked like right now.
A pale pink tongue, moist lips, even her eyelashes were damp, and a flush ran from the corners of her eyes all the way to her ears.
The human, being licked and kissed purely by instinct, felt the other seeking more touch.
Added to that was the difference in species, the elevated body temperature pressed against Meng Hemian, making the latter feel…
Extremely troubled.
Sensing she couldn’t let this continue, Meng Hemianβs throat moved as she gave a slight frown.
“Yaoyao, you aren’t a little rabbit right now.”
When she spoke, she realized her voice was incredibly low and hoarse.
Wen Shuyao snapped out of her daze, blinking vacantly. “Eh?”
She slowly let go and apologetically used her sleeve to wipe Meng Hemianβs hand.
In a soft, gentle voice, she said, “I’m sorry, it just felt so good.”
Meng Hemian was truly at a loss with her. She rubbed her fingertips together, seemingly trying to erase the strange tactile sensation lingering there.
However, Wen Shuyao didn’t get off her. Instead, she asked submissively, “Are you hungry? Itβs already this late.”
She clutched her collar tight. “Do you want to eat…”
Meng Hemian interrupted, “Cooking now is too much trouble. Let’s just order takeout today.”
After saying that, she moved to find her phone.
Realizing that this person really intended to order takeout, Wen Shuyao puffed out her cheeks, stood up, and straightened her clothes.
Then she sat back down and, without any sense of being a stranger, rested her head on Meng Hemianβs shoulder. “Can I be petted tomorrow too?”
Meng Hemianβs hand paused in the middle of placing the order.
She glanced at Wen Shuyao out of the corner of her eye, then shifted her gaze back nonchalantly. “Weβll see,” she said, as if it were nothing.
Wen Shuyao was somewhat dissatisfied. Why was this human so wishy-washy? What did “we’ll see” mean!
“Why?” She asked, simply because she didn’t understand.
Meng Hemian: “Um…”
She was at a loss for words again. She couldn’t exactly say that petting a human felt far too suggestive, and that transforming back into a human midway was strictly forbidden from now on.
If she said that, how would she be any different from a scumbag playing with a little rabbit’s feelings?
Finally, Meng Hemian offered a serious-sounding explanation: “Because I’ve been a bit busy lately, I can only find time to play for a little while.”
The little rabbit was very easy to coax. She believed it instantly and began enthusiastically listing dishes she wanted, specifically requesting three large chicken drumsticks.
Even after finishing dinner, Meng Hemian still felt like she was in a trance.
How did she suddenly end up with a girlfriend?
She wasn’t used to it yet. Following her usual habit, she told Wen Shuyao to go to bed early. Then, after finishing her own nighttime routine, she was somewhat impatient to enter her private “spacing out” time.
For her, after a chaotic day of work, being alone was the best way to organize her thoughts.
Carrying the thought that she would soon be able to relax, the moment Meng Hemian stepped out of the bathroom, she saw Wen Shuyao wearing lace pajamas and cute pumpkin pants.
Most importantly, she was lying on Meng Hemianβs bed, looking as practiced as if she had done it hundreds of times before.
Meng Hemian was stunned. “Why are you here?”
Wen Shuyao yawned, looking like a puppy seeking credit. “I’m listening to you and going to bed early.”
Having faced so many shocks today, Meng Hemian could no longer get worked up, but she still instinctively questioned, “No, wait….”
Wen Shuyao pulled over Meng Hemianβs small white flower quilt. “Can’t people who are dating sleep together?”
“They can, but isn’t this too fast?”
Wen Shuyao pouted, aggrievedly covering herself with the quilt until only her eyes were visible.
“But we haven’t even kissed. Does this still count as fast?”
Meng Hemian was stunned by this logic. Her overworked brain found it difficult to spot the flaw in that statement.
It seems… that’s true.
She pulled out a new grey summer quilt from the closet, the style she usually used.
She then lay down tentatively, leaving more than half the bed for Wen Shuyao while occupying only a tiny sliver near the edge.
Wen Shuyao whispered, “Goodnight.”
Meng Hemian reached out to turn off the light and replied, “Goodnight.”
Half an hour passed…
Everything in the room remained unchanged. The temperature was a comfortable 26Β°C, the soundproofing was excellent with no noise, and she hadn’t taken any medicinal meals recently.
Yet, Meng Hemian lay with her hands flat on her chest, completely unable to sleep.
She felt like she could hear another person’s heartbeat, thump, thump….so rhythmic that it gradually began to overlap with her own.
Events from the day flashed continuously through her mind.
Her motherβs bracelet, Wen Shuyao crying uncontrollably, the little rabbit waiting obediently to be petted, and that momentary spark of fluttering emotion she had tried to grasp.
After a long while, Meng Hemian suddenly sat up, looking at the person beside her in disbelief.
Wait a minute, kissing and sharing a bed are clearly two completely different things!
How did she let the little rabbit cloud her mind and let her onto the bed?
Under the moonlight, a huddled figure was vaguely visible.
She was sleeping soundly, her eyelashes didn’t even quiver, and a contented smile seemed to hang on the corner of her mouth.
Meng Hemian stared for a few seconds, then lay back down with a wooden expression.
Whatever. She would talk to Wen Shuyao tomorrow.
The little rabbit demonβs mind is very “simple” if she thinks something is good, she will always want it.
