- After Redeeming the Villain, I Was Obliterated by the System
- Chapter 11 - Approaching the Villain as His Little Junior Brother!
Lin Sui was in so much pain that he could not stand, yet the system continued to urge him in his mind. Looking at the blood-red countdown, Lin Sui felt that if he did not die at the hands of the villain, he would surely die at the hands of the system.
He struggled to perform a hand seal to heal his wounds, but the people in the Outer Sect seemed intent on tormenting Xiao Qingyan to death.
“Crack!”
The sound of a leg bone snapping rang out, and Lin Sui fell heavily to his knees once more. The countdown had only twenty seconds remaining.
Out of necessity, Lin Sui used the talisman paper Su Zhanyun had given him. Visualizing Xiao Qingyan’s appearance in his mind, the talisman erupted in a brilliant light, instantly transporting Lin Sui to a forest. The sound of the wind around him was replaced by a barrage of malicious words.
“I told you he was a monster! Hahaha! He feels no pain, and his wounds do not even show!”
“Exactly, a monster! Monsters deserve to die!”
“He, he came from the Inner Sect after all. Is it not wrong for us to do this?”
“What is wrong with it? The person who dumped him here only said to keep him alive. Besides, this kid feels no pain, and even when a knife is thrust into his body, no wound remains. Is he not the perfect outlet for our anger?”
Lin Sui was increasingly terrified as he listened. Just as he was about to step forward, a piercing pain shot through his pinky finger. He had to bite his lip hard to keep from making a sound.
“Hahaha! This kid really does not know pain! I just broke one of his legs, and now it has already returned to normal! Tell me, do you think his blood is valuable?”
Lin Sui was blind and could not see. No matter how he called for the system, it gave him no reply. He did not dare to act rashly. Using his spiritual energy, he concealed his form and struck the group of disciples unconscious with a burst of power directed toward their voices.
“Who is there?”
Xiao Qingyan was incredibly weak. He never expected that Senior Uncle Mo, who was usually gentle, would actually seal his spiritual energy. Otherwise, how could he be bullied so easily by these Outer Sect disciples?
This was all because of Lin Suizhi! Everything was caused by that so-called good Master of his! One day, he would tear his Master into ten thousand pieces!
A bloodthirsty red light flashed in Xiao Qingyan’s eyes. He stood up unsteadily from the ground and picked up a discarded dagger. He noticed there was not a single trace of blood on the blade. Recalling what the disciples had said, that the dagger had clearly entered his body, he wondered why there was no blood. Was his body’s healing ability truly so fast that no blood was shed?
He looked at the unconscious disciples and scanned the surroundings warily. It was impossible for these disciples to lose consciousness simultaneously without reason; someone must have acted from the shadows. But who could it be? He did not believe anyone in the Outer Sect would be so kindhearted.
As Lin Sui hesitated over whether to reveal himself, a soft sound came from behind him. Fearing he would be exposed if someone bumped into him, he quickly used a talisman to teleport to the living quarters he had arranged for this new body.
Xiao Qingyan pointed the dagger at a youth who suddenly appeared. “Who are you? Why did you help me?”
The youth had a small cut on his forehead that was seeping blood, and he held a dagger as well. “I just, I just.”
The youth did not dare to look at Xiao Qingyan’s face. In a panic, he dropped the dagger and tried to run. Xiao Qingyan quickly grabbed the youth by the collar and pressed the dagger against his fair neck.
“Speak!”
The youth was frightened to the point of tears. “I, I could not stand seeing them bully people. And, and they always bully me too.”
The youth’s eyes darted around, not daring to meet Xiao Qingyan’s gaze. Seeing that Xiao Qingyan did not believe him, he tremblingly rolled up his sleeve to reveal dark purple bruises.
“They, their blows hurt very much. I heard from other disciples that you, you were brought here. So I worked up the courage to see if I could stop them.”
Xiao Qingyan lowered the dagger. Seeing the injuries on the youth’s arm, he could not help but think of his Master. He could not easily trust anyone, and he certainly did not believe this youth could have taken down so many people at once. However, he currently had no spiritual energy and likely stood no chance against the boy.
It would be better to see what this youth was really up to. Before coming to the Sanqing Sect, his greatest skill was discerning people’s hearts, and this youth was definitely not as he appeared!
“Senior Brother,” the youth caught up with Xiao Qingyan and added, “Can I call you Senior Brother? I heard them say you are an Inner Sect disciple, so you must be much stronger than me! Can you teach me how to cultivate? I have been unable to reach the Foundation Establishment stage for a long time.”
Xiao Qingyan stopped in his tracks. He looked at the youth following him with a cold gaze and rejected him bluntly.
The youth’s expression stiffened. He hurried forward and grabbed Xiao Qingyan’s sleeve, but with a gentle tug, he accidentally tore half the sleeve off. He stared blankly at the fabric in his hand, fear welling up in his round eyes. Suddenly, he knelt on the ground and began to kowtow repeatedly, pleading for forgiveness.
“I am sorry, I am sorry! I did not do it on purpose!”
Xiao Qingyan’s brow furrowed in annoyance. “It is not your fault. Get up!”
The youth’s body trembled as he looked up cautiously. “Senior Brother, I really did not mean to.”
Xiao Qingyan was momentarily dazed. Looking at the red-eyed youth, he saw a vision of the first time his Master had lost his temper with him over a book, breaking his wrist and forcing him to kneel outside. He knew then that he had done something wrong and kowtowed repeatedly. “Master, I really did not mean to. I am sorry, I am sorry.”
However, that person had ignored his apologies and let him kneel in the heavy snow for a day and a night.
While the youth continued to kowtow in terror, Xiao Qingyan’s gaze darkened. He forced himself to stop thinking about that man and helped the youth up.
“It is not your fault,” he said softly to the youth, though it felt as if he were speaking to his younger self through the boy. “It is not your fault. No.” The one at fault was Lin Suizhi!
The youth lowered his gaze. “I, I know some needlework. I will sew it for you, Senior Brother.”
“Very well. Then I thank you, Junior Brother.” Xiao Qingyan still could not let down his guard. After all, the last person who had treated him so well at the beginning had ended up torturing him day and night!
At the thought of his Master, Xiao Qingyan wished for nothing more than to retaliate for everything his Master had ever done to him!
Unknowingly, Xiao Qingyan followed the youth to their living quarters. The youth pushed open the door to reveal a young boy dressed in moon-white silk sitting at the table. A white blindfold covered his eyes, and a red lotus flower mark adorned the center of his brow. He had a high nose bridge and pink lips that were pursed uncomfortably tight. At first glance, he could be mistaken for an immortal fallen into the mortal realm.
That morning, a senior disciple had told the youth that a new disciple would be arriving. The new disciple’s family had been killed by demonic cultivators, and an elder had saved him. Unfortunately, the demonic cultivators had injured the boy’s eyes, and they would never heal.
“Are you the new Junior Brother? My name is Zhu Jiayu.
What is yours?”
The youth named Zhu Jiayu pulled Xiao Qingyan over. “This is Senior Brother! He came from the Inner Sect to learn Outer Sect knowledge! His name is”
Zhu Jiayu paused halfway, realizing he did not yet know the name of the Senior Brother from the Inner Sect.
“Xiao Qingyan,” Xiao Qingyan replied in a cold tone.
