- After Redeeming the Villain, I Was Obliterated by the System
- Chapter 10 - The Disciple’s Injuries Have Transferred to His Master
Su Zhanyun trembled. Even though a hundred years had passed, he still could not forget the sight of his Junior Brother as a small child. He was someone who would cry for a long time over a tiny bump or scrape, yet he had drained half his own blood to create a formation, sacrificing himself to the sword to win that slaughter of a battle.
Only afterward did Su Zhanyun and the Master discover that their Junior Brother had been tricked into the battlefield by the Sect’s Great Elder. How old was he then? He was so small he did not even reach Su Zhanyun’s thigh!
Su Zhanyun’s eyes turned blood-red. “Who exactly is the Sect Leader here? Is it you all, or is it me? Are you all trying to rebel?”
“We hope the Sect Leader thinks this through carefully! We must abandon Lin Sui!” the several elders declared before sweeping out of the hall. The remaining elders, who held little real power, looked at one another in silence, fearing Su Zhanyun might turn his fury toward them.
Su Zhanyun smashed the teacup in his hand to pieces, and a streak of golden light vanished from the hall.
Lin Sui raised a trembling hand, his left hand gripping the edge of the table tightly to keep himself from collapsing. The previous electric shock had been merely a warning, yet it was enough to break him into a cold sweat.
I am going to the villain’s side right now, alright? Can I not have a life of my own?
Lin Sui let out a long breath. Just as his fingers touched the purple glass lamp, his waist tightened, and he was lifted into the air.
“Junior Brother, what is wrong? Where do you feel unwell? You should not wait for your eldest disciple any longer; he will understand. Entering seclusion immediately is the only correct path for you right now.”
Su Zhanyun’s face was clouded with worry, his golden pupils constricted with concern.
Lin Sui’s face flushed. “Big, Big Senior Brother, put, put me down. I am fine.”
Su Zhanyun placed Lin Sui on the bed and turned his wrist over to check his pulse. Before his spiritual energy could enter, it was repelled by the energy their Master had left behind. Realizing the Master’s lingering power was protecting his Junior Brother, Su Zhanyun finally felt his heart settle.
“Junior Brother, these are pills prepared to suppress the cold poison. Take one every day. Do not skip them! These were specially formulated by your Fifth Senior Brother; they will not be bitter.”
“And these magical treasures, you must hold this lotus every night while you sleep. It can lessen the chill brought by the cold poison. And this,” Su Zhanyun continued his instructions, and the pile of items by the bed grew larger. Lin Sui began to wonder if Su Zhanyun had emptied the entire sect’s treasury for him.
“Senior Brother is leaving now. You must take care of yourself.” Su Zhanyun remained uneasy. He did not know if his Junior Brother would emerge from this seclusion with another drastic change in personality, as had happened several times before. But if Lin Sui did not enter seclusion to weather the flare-up of the cold poison, not only would his cultivation drop significantly, but his soul might also become unstable.
Lin Sui suddenly found it hard to bear the kindness from Su Zhanyun and Mo Bai. A bitter ache swelled in his chest. This warmth belonged to the original owner, but the original owner was dead. To survive, he had no choice but to continue deceiving these people.
His eyes grew warm. “I will, Senior Brother. Thank you.”
Su Zhanyun kept his gaze fixed on Lin Sui, only looking away when his eyes began to sting. “Remember, you must not sneak out! One month is not that long!”
“Second Senior Brother and I have already placed a boundary outside your house. Your Third Senior Brother even cast a formation by your bed. Furthermore, your Fourth Senior Sister has placed charms all over the mountain. If you try to sneak out during your seclusion, we will know immediately!”
Lin Sui, who had been planning to slip away the moment Su Zhanyun left, had not expected the original owner to be such a troublemaker. A simple seclusion had prompted all his senior brothers and sisters to take action. He forced a smile.
“Big Senior Brother, rest assured. This time, I will definitely stay in seclusion!” Lin Sui held up four fingers toward the sky, making a solemn promise.
Su Zhanyun’s expression cooled. He swatted Lin Sui’s hand away, clearly not believing a word.
“Junior Brother, I have heard those exact words no less than a hundred times. You promise me every single time, yet the moment I leave, you run off!” Su Zhanyun’s voice rose sharply at the end. If he were not so busy, he would watch his Junior Brother every day to ensure the cold poison was suppressed.
Lin Sui’s smile faltered. He wrinkled his nose. “Does Big Senior Brother not trust me?”
Su Zhanyun sneered. “Not even the dogs in the sect would believe that sentence. Just stay in seclusion. If your foot steps half a pace out of this room, we will know!”
Lin Sui thought, Just how dishonest was the original owner?
“I will not, I will not, Big Senior Brother.”
“You had better not!”
Su Zhanyun slammed the door as he left, not forgetting to place a restriction on it. Golden runes floated across the wood, seemingly telling Lin Sui that escaping was a mere dream.
[Warning! The mission target is in danger. Host must proceed to the Outer Sect immediately to save Xiao Qingyan!]
Lin Sui bolted upright in bed. Seriously? Is the villain that good at causing trouble? Is he really that hated? It was not that he did not want to save the villain or help him level up, but he literally could not get out!
The sound of electric static buzzed in his mind again. Lin Sui’s body trembled instinctively. He clutched his chest, fine beads of sweat forming on his forehead as his breathing became difficult.
However, the expected shock was not released. Lin Sui felt as though he had already endured it, and he collapsed weakly back onto the bed. The books about transmigrating with a system were all lies! Where was the golden finger? Where was the system that always helped the host reach the pinnacle of life? It was all a scam!
[Host must proceed to the Outer Sect immediately to save the villain from the Outer Sect disciples.]
The system’s life-threatening voice repeated incessantly in his head. Lin Sui wanted to go, but how?
System! System! Is there a way for me to leave without anyone noticing? Lin Sui could only turn to the system for help.
[A physical body can be provided for the host, but the host must detach his soul and place it into this body.]
Lin Sui figured that since he would eventually have to defect from the sect with the villain anyway, it would be better to handle things without using his current body. He immediately agreed.
Lin Sui changed into the new body and rushed toward the Outer Sect. The Outer Sect had more disciples and covered a much larger area, making Xiao Qingyan very difficult to find. Following the system’s guidance, he stopped a disciple to ask for directions.
“Senior Brother, where is the disciple who was sent from the Inner Sect today? He, he is my cousin. We have not met in a long time, and I wanted to see him,” Lin Sui lied, inventing an identity on the spot.
The disciple, seeing Lin Sui’s fair skin and red lips, could not help but harbor improper thoughts. “I know, I know. Junior Brother, follow me. I will take you there.”
Anxious to find Xiao Qingyan, Lin Sui was completely off his guard. He followed the disciple into a small courtyard and finally into a room. The door was slammed shut behind them.
“Junior Brother, why look for a cousin? That cousin of yours was thrown out by the Inner Sect and does not have many days left to live. Why not follow me instead?”
Realizing he had been tricked, Lin Sui used a hand seal to knock the man unconscious. He turned and pushed the door open to leave. He had not walked two steps when a sudden, sharp pain in his abdomen forced him to drop to one knee. It was not just his abdomen; his chest and arms also erupted in pain, as if sliced by knives. Bright red blood began to seep through his robes.
[The villain has sustained a fatal injury, which has been transferred to the host. Host must proceed to the villain’s side immediately to save him.]
