Lin Rufei had come prepared. She was pregnant, and Qin Xiaozhe had gone to get medicine. Once he returned, he would undoubtedly side with her.

She wanted to witness Nanxi being condemned by everyone and experience the taste of being labeled as the other woman.

Lin Rufei’s eyes reddened, and she cried even more pitifully. “Nanxi, just because you look like me, you can’t deliberately seduce my husband.”

She took a marriage certificate out of her bag, opened it, and pushed it forward. “I’m the other woman? Open your eyes and see clearly. This is my marriage certificate, issued five years ago.”

At this point, Nanxi pointed at Lin Rufei, who was still on the ground. “This woman is Lin Rufei. After her divorce, she got involved with my husband. The child in her belly is the proof.”

She was the actual other woman, yet she had pinned the label on Nanxi.

Fortunately, ever since Nanxi decided to divorce, she had carried the divorce papers with her, ready to complete the formalities at any time. Otherwise, with Lin Rufei inciting the crowd, she would have been drowned in the spit of these gossip-hungry onlookers.

She scrambled up from the ground, trying to leave.

Nanxi blocked her path. “You think you can just stir up trouble and run away? It’s not that easy.”

Since she loved manipulating people so much, she should taste the bitterness of her own schemes.

Lin Rufei grew even more aggrieved. “Let me go.”

But Nanxi refused to budge.

“Nanxi, you’ve gone too far!” Qin Xiaozhe rushed toward Nanxi, his face filled with rage.

Lin Rufei lowered her head, her eyes red, and said, “Nanxi found out I’m pregnant and hit me. She doesn’t want me to keep the child. Xiaozhe, I didn’t mean for this to happen. It’s all because I love you too much. It’s my fault. As long as the child is safe, it’s okay if she hits me.”

The onlookers, seeing how fiercely the man defended her, sighed in disbelief. No wonder the other woman had managed to climb her way up,she was truly formidable, capable of turning black into white.

Nanxi sneered, “I really regret it.”

Qin Xiaozhe snorted coldly, “Regret is useless. Nanxi is pregnant. Even if you want to come back now, there’s no chance. Apologize to Rufei, or you’ll never see me again.”

Nanxi rolled her eyes at him, “I regret not hitting her harder.”

If she had known Lin Rufei was so fond of spouting nonsense, she should have slapped her a few more times.

With that, Nanxi left the hospital, not wanting to waste another word on him.

Only after stepping out of the hall and getting into her car did Nanxi remember she hadn’t told Qin Xiaozhe about her grandfather’s health condition.

Qin Xiaozhe helped Lin Rufei sit down on a bench.

Lin Rufei wiped her tears pitifully, “Nanxi pulled out the marriage certificate in front of so many people. Everyone called me a homewrecker. I don’t mind for myself, but for our unborn child to be ridiculed like this, I.”

Qin Xiaozhe’s mind flashed to Nanxi’s cold and ruthless expression when she hit Lin Rufei, it was as if she had become a completely different person.

“Can’t let go of her?” Qin Xiaozhe scoffed, “I married her back then only because of you. Now that you’re back, the title of Mrs. Qin rightfully belongs to you.”

Lin Rufei was overjoyed and leaned against Qin Xiaozhe’s shoulder. “Xiaozhe, you’re so good to me. Once the baby is born, I’ll love you even more.”

“I called you over a dozen times, and you didn’t answer. What are you doing here?” Qi Zhengchu had been desperately trying to reach Qin Xiaozhe and, growing anxious, rushed out to look for him. He had planned to go to the company but unexpectedly found Qin Xiaozhe in the hospital corridor.

Qin Xiaozhe glanced at Lin Rufei, “Rufei is pregnant. I’m here with her for a check-up.”

Qi Zhengchu’s jaw dropped as he stared at Lin Rufei in shock.

He then turned and glared at Qin Xiaozhe, feeling an overwhelming urge to punch him.

He had actually believed Qin Xiaozhe believed that he had realized his mistakes and was willing to reconcile with Nanxi. He had even helped arrange a meeting between them. Little did he know that Qin Xiaozhe had been secretly involved with Lin Rufei and even gotten her pregnant.

Qi Zhengchu was fuming.

“You, you’re something else! What about Nanxi? What’s going to happen to her now?”

Qin Xiaozhe’s face darkened, “Don’t mention her.”

“Nanxi has been so good to you, Qin Xiaozhe. Mark my words losing a girl like Nanxi, you’ll live to regret it.”

With that, Qi Zhengchu stormed off angrily.

Lin Rufei looked aggrieved, “Xiaozhe, your friend seems to hate me. Did Nanxi say something about me to him? Should I try to explain?”

“Don’t bother with him.”

Qi Zhengchu had taken a few steps when he suddenly remembered something important he hadn’t mentioned. Suppressing his disgust, he turned back and grabbed Qin Xiaozhe’s arm. “Come with me.”

Qin Xiaozhe pushed Qi Zhengchu’s hand away. “Rufei is pregnant. She needs me.”

“Is there no one else in your eyes besides this woman?” Qi Zhengchu snapped angrily.

Qin Xiaozhe’s expression darkened. “She’s carrying my child.”

“Nanxi slaved for you for five years, why don’t you remember that?” Qi Zhengchu retorted.

Qin Xiaozhe raised his arm and punched Qi Zhengchu.

Just as Qi Zhengchu prepared to strike back, Lin Rufei suddenly spoke up. “Dr. Qi, I know you don’t like me. Maybe Nanxi said something about me in front of you. But no matter what, you’re Xiaozhe’s friend. Whether you dislike me or not, I won’t hold it against you. I hope you two won’t fight because of me.”

Qin Xiaozhe released his grip. “Rufei is even speaking up for you.”

Qi Zhengchu sneered. “Can’t you fucking tell she’s belittling Nanxi?”

“Do you like her?”

“What?”

“Just like those other men do you like Nanxi?”

Unable to contain his anger any longer, Qi Zhengchu landed a heavy punch on Qin Xiaozhe’s nose.
