You Are the Star I Cannot Touch - Chapter 23
Chapter 23: Laughing Like a Fool
Tang Xiaowan was carefree and had long forgotten about her and Chi Yue’s conflict. Naturally, Chi Yue hadn’t forgotten. Mu Yan was safe, which reassured her, so she went to settle scores with Tang Xiaowan.
When Chi Yue found Tang Xiaowan, the latter was enjoying herself with people on both sides. Chi Yue, who was already angry, became even angrier. She touched me and is still acting so carefree.
Tang Xiaowan’s heart skipped a beat when she saw Chi Yue. She remembered their feud, which she had completely forgotten about.
“You… Chi Yue, let go of me!” Before she could even ask anything, she was dragged out. Naturally, she resisted. Chi Yue was not polite, kicking her several times. Tang Xiaowan clutched her stomach. Why does she always hit my stomach? Fortunately, her period hadn’t arrived, or she’d be finished again.
When Chi Yue saw Tang Xiaowan had calmed down, she dragged her out, tossed her into the car, and sped all the way back to her three-bedroom, one-living-room apartment. She threw her onto the sofa.
“Chi Yue, I’ll f*ck your mother!” Tang Xiaowan wasn’t going to back down. She couldn’t beat Chi Yue, but she wasn’t easily bullied either.
The two started fighting, but by the end, Tang Xiaowan was left with nothing to cover herself with. She panicked. Fighting is one thing, but why tear off my clothes?
“Chi Yue, you’re going too far!” Did she need to treat me like this?
“Tsk, not bad.” She smiled more lewdly than a hooligan. “Weren’t you very formidable last time?” She had only suffered that one loss. How could she lose again? This score definitely needed to be settled slowly.
“You…”
They were both women. Who was afraid of whom? Tang Xiaowan raised her fist and smashed it over again. Chi Yue kicked her leg.
Tang Xiaowan fell to the floor. Fortunately, the floor was covered with a fuzzy rug, but it still hurt.
“Don’t you want to kiss me?” Chi Yue pinched her chin, forcing her to look up. “I’m giving you a chance. Kiss me yourself.”
She’s not stupid. No way. If she made any move, Chi Yue would definitely hit her. But this feud was set. She had to settle the score. She’d find someone to deal with Chi Yue another day. Just because she couldn’t beat her didn’t mean others couldn’t.
“Not kissing?” Chi Yue used a little force and kissed her.
Tang Xiaowan was no longer calm. She was the one who kissed others. How could someone kiss her? She opened her mouth and bit her.
Chi Yue let go of her. “You’re quite disobedient.”
“I listen to your sister!” Having been disadvantaged once, she wouldn’t let it happen again. She grabbed whatever was next to her and hurled it over.
Chi Yue dodged, and the two started fighting again. In the end, Tang Xiaowan resorted to crying. The first half of the night was fighting, and the second half was tearful sobbing, until she finally cried herself unconscious.
Tang Xiaowan woke up around noon. She looked at the unfamiliar place, momentarily unsure where she was. When she realized, she immediately sat up. “Chi Yue, you bastard!”
“It seems I was too merciful to you last night,” Chi Yue said, dressed in black, smoking a cigarette and looking at her.
“Merciful my sister! Fighting is one thing, why did you have sex with me?”
“An eye for an eye.”
“You… Chi Yue, I’m telling you, I’m not done with you. You wait! I’ll call a few women to beat you up right now! I refuse to believe I can’t beat you!”
“Women.”
“Men too, if I have to. I’ll find myself a boyfriend and teach you a lesson!”
“Ask the men around here who would want you.”
Tang Xiaowan: “…” A gentleman can be killed but not humiliated. She immediately jumped out of bed and rushed to hit Chi Yue again.
Chi Yue extinguished her cigarette. Tang Xiaowan had surprisingly good stamina, not being completely out of commission today. However, Chi Yue only admired her for ten minutes before Tang Xiaowan stopped moving, exhausted.
“No more fighting? Then I’m hitting you,” Chi Yue kindly reminded her.
Before Tang Xiaowan could respond, her butt received the brutal treatment of Chi Yue’s palm.
The entire room was filled with Tang Xiaowan’s curses and wails, eventually turning into sobs, until Tang Xiaowan passed out, and the room fell silent.
Chi Yue glanced at the person on the big bed. Provoke her? Can she afford it? Chi Yue left.
Chi Yue went to see Mu Yan. Seeing her laughing like a fool, she knew these were probably her happiest days. Gong Yutong was with her. Would she keep using the ‘suffering’ trick every day from now on? The thought made Chi Yue uneasy. Absolutely not. However, Gong Yutong seemed quite good to her. This person was not typically someone who cared for others. Generally, the people she cared about received preferential treatment.
Gong Yutong arrived after work. She saw Mu Yan laughing quite unusually. She hadn’t provoked her these past few days. Did she have another problem? Her concern was unnecessary; Mu Yan was purely happy.
Chi Yue didn’t want to miss a single change in Gong Yutong’s expression, but she really couldn’t see any difference. She was still as aloof as ever. This person is simply an abyss. No wonder they said she was terrifying.
“You’re here.” Mu Yan was very clingy when she saw Gong Yutong. Her eyes were full of her, and her voice was soft, fully displaying her flirtatiousness.
Chi Yue shook her head. Alas, what is love that makes one willing to die for it?
Mu Yan’s love for Gong Yutong had long transcended life and death.
Gong Yutong was Mu Yan’s belief, and her love for her was a deep obsession. It was the first time she had seen someone love another person so much.
“Here.” Gong Yutong handed her the food.
Mu Yan took it. She had never eaten such delicious food. These days were truly happy. If she had known the ‘suffering’ trick was effective, she would have used it every day.
“You can walk around outside in a few more days,” Gong Yutong sat on the edge of the bed. “Jiang Huaiye. How do you plan to get revenge?”
“I haven’t decided yet. He can’t live, that’s for sure. Why does he like you?”
“Mu Yan Yan, you’re quite naive. You’ve lived and worked hard for the past ten years for nothing.”
“Mu Yan Yan, how am I naive?”
“You think I’m a giant panda that everyone loves? The Jiang Group is having financial problems, so he wants to approach me, get close to the Gong family, and seek a marriage alliance to stabilize the Jiang Group. Second, the Jiang family and the Xie family have been openly and secretly fighting recently. It won’t be long before the Xie family comes looking for me too. What do you think I should do now?”
Mu Yan was stumped. She wasn’t good at plotting; she was good at persistently clinging—but only to Gong Yutong. She looked at Gong Yutong in a daze, not forgetting to eat.
Gong Yutong looked at her. Her reaction was not surprising at all. Mu Yan’s intelligence was only online when she was far away from her. When she saw her, her intelligence was worrying.
“If you want to deal with Jiang Huaiye, why don’t you use the Xie family?”
“Mhm, mhm, delicious. You’re beautiful.” Mu Yan was eating and being infatuated at the same time.
Gong Yutong: “…”
Chi Yue massaged her forehead. She couldn’t deal with this Gong Yutong. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be unable to see through her. Gong Yutong emerged from the Gong family to become the CEO, and also the owner of Huayu, which she founded herself, making her the ruler of City Z. This showed how deeply calculating and brilliant her methods were.
“Little Mu Yan,” Gong Yutong looked at her. “I’m giving you a chance. Do you want it?”
“Yes, yes. Anything to please you.”
Gong Yutong resisted the urge to react and continued, “If you can manage to take revenge this time, I’ll give you one chance.”
“Really? Great, great! Okay! I’ll go deal with Jiang Huaiye as soon as I recover. Can I have two nights?” Mu Yan misinterpreted her meaning.
“I’ll give you one chance to take a leave of absence. Do you think the Gong Group is a place where you can just show up or not? Either you skip work, take a leave of absence, or I’ll fire you.”
Mu Yan was stunned for three seconds, then burst out cursing, “Old Dog Gong!”
Gong Yutong’s eyes narrowed. “What did you say?”
