You Are the Star I Cannot Touch - Chapter 22
Chapter 22: She Will Be Shy
Chi Yue also joined the fight, but by the time Tang Xiaowan arrived, Gong Yutong had already dealt with everyone who had surrounded her.
Tang Xiaowan was stunned. What was the point of her rushing over? She should have just watched. She then turned her attention to Chi Yue, which startled Tang Xiaowan. This person is truly terrifying with her hands. And Chi Yue looks like an Asura crawling out of hell. She couldn’t help but swallow. She shouldn’t provoke her. She can’t afford to.
Chi Yue shook the blood from her hands. Looking around, everyone was dead. She no longer looked so fierce. Meeting Tang Xiaowan’s gaze, she wondered where she got the courage to provoke her and even try to attack her when she was so timid.
Tang Xiaowan’s heart skipped a beat. Is she going to hit me?
“It’s been dealt with. Let’s go,” Gu Xi Zhi came over. “Jiang Huaiye.”
“Mhm.” Gong Yutong wasn’t surprised. She had already guessed it. They got into the car and left. As for everything else there, people were already cleaning up.
They drove to where Mu Yan lived. After all, the necessary medical equipment was available there. Gong Yutong treated Mu Yan’s wounds while they waited outside.
An hour later, Gong Yutong came out.
“How is she?” Chi Yue asked. Only Chi Yue seemed concerned about Mu Yan; the other two were more worried about Gong Yutong.
“She’s fine. Just lost too much blood. She needs supplements later.” Her injuries weren’t life-threatening, or Gong Yutong wouldn’t have been able to save her.
“Thank you.” She arrived just in time, or Mu Yan might have died before she got there. “Are you… alright?”
“I’m fine.”
“Hey, Gong Yutong, since when did you know medicine? How come I didn’t know?” Tang Xiaowan voiced her question. “Also, how did you know Mu Yan was in trouble? Or that she was going to kill someone?”
Chi Yue looked at Gong Yutong. That was her question too.
“Do you think there’s anything I don’t know or can’t do?” Gong Yutong left.
Tang Xiaowan paused for three seconds. “She’s so arrogant. As expected of President Gong.” She then forgot her question.
Gu Xi Zhi frowned. How did she know? And she didn’t even know she knew medical skills. When did she learn it, and why? To treat Tang Xiaowan? Probably not. She was being led astray by Tang Xiaowan. She had to find Gong Yutong. There was no way she was fine.
Chi Yue sat by the bed, looking at the unconscious Mu Yan. She truly couldn’t understand Gong Yutong. Why? Her mind was also full of ‘why’s. She held Mu Yan’s hand.
“Xiao Yan, please don’t be so foolish next time, okay?” She knew Mu Yan couldn’t hear her. “Gong Yutong’s thoughts are very deep. You can’t see through her. Sigh, why can’t you just let go?”
Mu Yan had saved her, and then their relationship grew closer. When she had an incident, Chi Yue brought her here to go to school, hoping she would have a good life. If she had stopped her, would Mu Yan not be so miserable and not have fallen in love with Gong Yutong? But how long would she have lived? Because of Gong Yutong, she had lived until today.
Chi Yue leaned back, watching Mu Yan, recalling many things: her past, how the two of them had joined forces to get where they were today. She had crawled out of a pile of dead bodies, surviving by stepping on corpses. So, she was emotionless, bloodthirsty, easily angered, and didn’t trust anyone. But Mu Yan… after meeting her, she trusted her, also because she was very simple. If Gong Yutong was Mu Yan’s salvation, then Mu Yan was hers. Because of her, she learned that the world still held friendship, beauty, and warmth. For her, living one day at a time was enough, with no extravagant hopes and no thoughts of the future. But after meeting Mu Yan, she had thought about the future, though only briefly, the future of the two of them.
Mu Yan woke up on the third day. She didn’t see Gong Yutong when she woke up, and looked at Chi Yue. “Where’s little Yutong?” She remembered Gong Yutong had saved her.
“Mu Yan, do you have a conscience? I’ve been watching over you!”
“Aren’t you fine? And she’s injured,” Mu Yan said a little aggrievedly.
Chi Yue didn’t hide anything from her. “She watched over you for three days and three nights. She just left.”
“What?” Mu Yan was so shocked she nearly sat up, if Chi Yue hadn’t quickly pressed her down.
“Why so excited?” Chi Yue understood her excitement, and she was surprised herself that Gong Yutong would stay with her.
“Three days… How is that possible?” She immediately fell into self-doubt again. But then she seemed to notice something. Why was she only covered with a quilt, and why did she have a urinary catheter inserted? “Could you let me put on some clothes?”
“We’re afraid your wound will sweat and get infected if you wear clothes. Your body is too weak, and you tend to break into a cold sweat easily.”
“But… isn’t this inappropriate?” The thought of Gong Yutong watching over her for three days while she was like this… She would be shy.
“Why weren’t you shy when you were trying to seduce me?” Gong Yutong walked in and saw Mu Yan’s bright red ears.
“I… it’s different,” she peeked her head out, looking at Gong Yutong, gripping the quilt tightly.
Chi Yue went out. She didn’t want to get in the way.
Before Mu Yan could react, Gong Yutong pulled the quilt off.
Mu Yan: “…” She wanted to drill a hole in the ground. She covered her face with a pillow. Can’t see, can’t see, it’s fine if I can’t see. Her body was trembling.
Gong Yutong changed her dressing, completely calm. But Mu Yan was not. Every time Gong Yutong touched her skin, she felt a tingling sensation all over. It was so unbearable that she felt Gong Yutong was doing it on purpose.
The dressing change made Mu Yan break out in a light sweat, and her skin turned pink.
“Roll over,” Gong Yutong said coldly.
Mu Yan slowly rolled over a little.
Slap!
“The medicine I applied doesn’t hurt. Why are you stalling?”
Mu Yan’s butt had been slapped. She didn’t want to be hit again. After all, that slap… she decided to just commit and lay on her stomach.
Gong Yutong changed the medicine on her back, then slapped her again. “Roll back over.”
Mu Yan grumbled internally but didn’t dare say it out loud. She told me to roll over, so why did she hit me? She had never been spanked before. It was too humiliating.
“Ah…” Mu Yan looked shocked. She…
“Why are you shouting when I’m disinfecting you? If it hurts, bear it. I didn’t see you in pain when you were killing people.”
Mu Yan: “…” Disinfecting her was fine, but she was disinfecting her… the unmentionable area! Although the urinary catheter required disinfection to prevent infection, still… was she doing it on purpose? While she was still suspicious, Gong Yutong already pulled out the catheter.
Mu Yan was stunned again. Then… She didn’t dare to ask. She was a doctor too. No, wait. “Gong Yutong, how do you know medicine?” She hadn’t known. Well, how could she know everything about her?
“Do I need to tell you everything I know?” Gong Yutong took off her gloves and looked at her. “What did you want money for?”
“I…” Lying to her was unrealistic. She could tell. “May 20th is coming soon. I wanted to send you a gift.”
“Did you want to die?”
“It’s worth it if it makes you smile.” She quietly covered herself with the quilt little by little. Last time was at night, but being stared at by Gong Yutong in daylight was unbearable. She was afraid she would lunge at Gong Yutong and kiss her. Even in her current state, she felt a burning itch from being looked at. It’s not my fault.
Gong Yutong scoffed, took out a card, and threw it onto her.
“Do you think one billion is enough to buy me anything I’d even look at?” She stared at where she threw the card. Pretty accurate aim.
Mu Yan nearly gasped. Ignoring the card, she quickly wrapped herself up like a mummy. “Mhm, mhm.” She quickly nodded, feeling a little awkward.
“Pink,” she said, leaving those words behind. She didn’t forget to glance at her, then coldly warned, “If you ever take another job, I’ll break your legs.” And then she left.
Mu Yan was stunned for three seconds before realizing what she meant. She buried her head in the pillow. A minute later, she seemed to understand. She meant… Mu Yan hid her head under the quilt. She didn’t want to see Gong Yutong anymore. How could this person be so wicked?
