You Are the Star I Cannot Touch - Chapter 20
Chapter 20: Do You Love Me?
Mu Yan looked at the blood on her hand. She had instinctively grabbed the fruit knife on the table. She hadn’t intended to kill Tang Xiaowan, only to scare her, but she hadn’t expected Tang Xiaowan to push Gong Yutong.
Gong Yutong hadn’t expected Mu Yan to grab a knife, so she didn’t take precautions.
“No… no…” Mu Yan looked at the blood on her hand, shaking her head continuously. “I killed someone… I… no, it wasn’t me… I…” She looked at Gong Yutong, whose white dress was stained with blood. “How could this happen? I didn’t mean to hurt you. How could I hurt you? I truly didn’t mean to hurt you.” Tears streamed down her face. “No… Yutong, I didn’t…”
She was her god, her life, her everything, her heart. How could she hurt her? How could she hurt her?
She shouldn’t have hurt her. She shouldn’t have hurt her. She had hurt the person she loved the most. She deserved to die. She couldn’t harm her.
She couldn’t harm her. She deserved to die. She deserved to die.
She took out the surgical knife she carried with her and stabbed herself. Gong Yutong grasped her hand.
“Mu Yan, wake up.”
“No… I want to kill myself. I can’t hurt Yutong. She’s my life. I promised to protect her, and I failed. I deserve to die.” The more force she used, the faster the blood flowed from Gong Yutong’s hand.
“Yutong, let go quickly! Don’t you want your hand anymore?” Gu Xizhi was anxious. If this continued, not only would Gong Yutong lose too much blood, but her hand might be crippled. She didn’t care what happened to Mu Yan.
“Little Yan,” Chi Yue hugged her. “Wake up, calm down. Let go. If you don’t let go, the person you love will really be in danger.”
Mu Yan didn’t hear her, still muttering, “I shouldn’t have hurt her. It’s my fault. I deserve to die.”
“Mu Yan, if you don’t let go, Gong Yutong will really die!” Chi Yue roared, but she was even more puzzled as to why Gong Yutong was holding on so tightly.
Mu Yan let go. “She’s dead? My Yutong is dead?” Her eyes were vacant, losing focus. “She’s dead? How could this be? I killed her.”
Gong Yutong took a small bag from Mu Yan’s waist, opened it, took out silver needles, and quickly inserted them into acupuncture points. Mu Yan’s eyes remained vacant, but that was the extent of it. She was like a person who had lost her soul and spirit, showing no signs of life upon hearing that Gong Yutong was hurt.
Gong Yutong was Mu Yan’s life. If something happened to her, how could she still want to live?
How much she loved her, only Mu Yan herself knew and understood. How important Gong Yutong was to Mu Yan, only Mu Yan herself knew.
If she wasn’t treated immediately, Mu Yan would really be in danger soon. But how did she know, and how did she know the method? Chi Yue was puzzled.
Gong Yutong picked Mu Yan up and left. Chi Yue quickly followed because the medicine was with her.
Chi Yue drove wildly to the villa. Mu Yan wouldn’t be in danger for the time being, but if Gong Yutong didn’t stop the bleeding, she might really be in danger.
Gong Yutong placed Mu Yan on her bed. Before Chi Yue could enter, she locked her out.
Chi Yue could only wait in the living room, and her doubts arose one after another. Why did she know the method? And why didn’t she let go? Wouldn’t Mu Yan’s death be a good thing for her? Was it because she was looking for novelty or for some other reason? She believed that Gong Yutong didn’t understand Mu Yan, but just now, she truly became suspicious. She was completely familiar with Mu Yan’s episodes. Only Mu Yan’s psychiatrist knew about this.
Gong Yutong came out again about half an hour later. She went downstairs. “She’s fine.” Her face was very pale, and she was clearly in pain.
“I called a doctor. You should see him first.”
“No need.” She left.
Chi Yue couldn’t bother with Gong Yutong. She went upstairs to the room and saw that Mu Yan’s breathing was stable. She sat next to her. Mu Yan should wake up in less than an hour. If so, then there was a problem. She had to find out the truth.
Gong Yutong returned to her villa. Gu Xizhi, Qu Shijin, and Tang Xiaowan were all waiting for her.
“Gong Yutong, you haven’t gone crazy, have you?” Gu Xizhi looked at her, who had changed clothes and bandaged her wounds. “You don’t even like Mu Yan. Is it worth it?”
Gong Yutong glanced at Tang Xiaowan. “You should go back and rest.” She was covered in injuries yet rushed over to wait for her.
“When did you learn medical skills?” She was so badly injured, yet she was still asking about her curiosity. That was a little odd.
Gong Yutong was speechless. “Xizhi, take her to the hospital and get a CT scan to see if her head has been damaged by the fight.” She went upstairs.
Tang Xiaowan “…” Gong Yutong, I was showing concern for you.
Gu Xizhi was exasperated by Tang Xiaowan. Gong Yutong’s injuries must be serious. She pulled Tang Xiaowan, sent this demanding person back, and also sent Qu Shijin back. She came to Gong Yutong’s residence and opened the door.
“How are you?” Gu Xizhi saw that she had changed into pajamas. “Is it serious?” She knew her hand was very serious; the surgical knife was incredibly sharp. But the wounds on her body, after losing so much blood, must also be serious.
“The injuries are not life-threatening,” Gong Yutong lay down.
“I really can’t figure you out.” Gu Xizhi also lay down next to her. “You say you like Mu Yan? But you won’t be with her, and I don’t see any liking in your eyes. You say you don’t like Mu Yan, but for the past ten years, you’ve been quite concerned about her sometimes, especially recently, and tonight. Gong Yutong, I’ve never seen you disregard yourself for anyone.”
“Saving you doesn’t count?” She took out a cigarette and lit it.
“It counts, but… do you really not like Mu Yan?”
She slowly exhaled a puff of smoke. “She’s the Gong Group’s secretary. I don’t want to find a replacement right now and have to find someone to train them. Besides, Xiaowan was at fault first.”
She always felt that something wasn’t right, but couldn’t pinpoint it. “With these injuries, how will you go to work tomorrow?”
“It won’t affect it.” If news of her injury got out, she might not be safe, especially if Jiang Huaiye found out. He might send people to block her again.
A sudden, urgent knock came from outside the door. Gu Xizhi got out of bed and opened it to find Mu Yan and Chi Yue.
Chi Yue truly couldn’t stop Mu Yan. She woke up and insisted on coming over. Chi Yue couldn’t hold her back.
Mu Yan entered without speaking. She grabbed Gong Yutong’s hand and immediately started to unwrap the bandage.
Gong Yutong wanted to stop her, but if she moved again, she probably wouldn’t be able to go to the company tomorrow.
When Mu Yan finished unwrapping, she saw that her palm had been stitched. Her fingers were not stitched, but they were bandaged, and the injuries on her fingers were deep enough to show bone, let alone her palm. Mu Yan reapplied medicine and rebandaged it, tears falling uncontrollably.
She had never cried since she was a child, no matter what she encountered, even when she left home. Even when she was abandoned by her family, she didn’t cry. But seeing Gong Yutong injured, she couldn’t control herself. Her heart ached for her.
She truly didn’t have the courage to uncover the wound on her waist, but she knew how deep it was.
She looked at Gong Yutong, her eyes brimming with tears. “Gong Yutong, do you love me?”
