Wife, Are You an Alpha Pretending to be an Omega? - Chapter 12
Neither of them could have predicted how things would develop to this point.
Wei Xia’s kiss was wild and fervent. Xie Jingyu was stunned at first, but he soon found it difficult to endure. Even though his suppressive patch was applied perfectly, he was still affected by that fragrant scent of white wine. However, he would not pull away. If he were to reject such intimacy immediately after confessing his feelings, what kind of person would that make him?
The truth was that he felt as though he could not hold on much longer.
Wei Xia’s kissing technique was not particularly skilled, but compared to the inexperienced Xie Jingyu, he was miles ahead. Xie Jingyu could never have known that this moment of intimacy was something Wei Xia had dreamed of for a long time, yet never dared to pursue.
Only after a long while did Wei Xia finally release him. At some point, his hands had found their way to Xie Jingyu’s waist, and it was only then that he realized how small Xie Jingyu’s frame truly was.
Their heights were nearly identical, but Wei Xia was an Alpha. Even though he was quite thin, his skeletal structure was much broader. Xie Jingyu was different. Wei Xia could clearly feel that Xie Jingyu’s bones were small and delicate, wrapped in lean, firm muscle. He was neither too thin nor too heavy; he had a perfect physique. If anything, it was Wei Xia’s own bones that felt a bit blunt against Xie Jingyu.
Xie Jingyu forced himself to remain calm. He leaned his hands against the counter to steady himself, trying his best to ignore the flush on his face. Being with Wei Xia felt quite different from what he had imagined.
“I,” Wei Xia began. His image as a “little white rabbit” had completely shattered in front of Xie Jingyu.
Xie Jingyu’s voice was hoarse. “I will finish the cooking.”
He turned around in a flurry of chaotic, clumsy movements. In the end, he produced two bowls of overcooked, soggy noodles. Wei Xia had been nervous, but seeing Xie Jingyu’s flustered state, he could not help but let out a silent laugh.
“Anything Jingyu makes is delicious.”
After that day, Xie Jingyu went to work as usual, and Wei Xia took charge of the cooking and laundry. They were a classic model of modern domestic division of labor. To outsiders, they were a cause for envy, but only the two of them knew just how strange things felt.
First, there was Xie Jingyu. Many rumors had spread following his warning at the racecourse. People were secretly whispering about why he would settle for a bastard son. He heard these comments but had no intention of interfering. Instead, he intentionally drew more attention to the relationship. He instructed his assistant to bid on several pieces of high-end jewelry worth tens of millions at an auction, claiming they were gifts for his wife.
On the other hand, he did not quite know how to face Wei Xia anymore. If he had been composed before, he had completely lost his footing after his confession and that kiss. Wei Xia was still the same Wei Xia, yet everything felt different. For instance, Wei Xia would now watch him eat with an unshielded gaze. He had become even more considerate, meticulously preparing Xie Jingyu’s daily outfits. On several occasions, Xie Jingyu even discovered Wei Xia washing his underwear.
Xie Jingyu would take them off before a shower, only to find them missing moments later. Upon looking around, he would see Wei Xia scrubbing them at the sink. Xie Jingyu felt a mix of shock and embarrassment, unsure of what to say.
Is this right? This cannot be right. Or perhaps it is?
Xie Jingyu’s mind was a tangled mess, to the point that for a long time afterward, his behavior became stiff whenever he saw Wei Xia.
Wei Xia’s perspective was different. He was struggling to restrain himself. On one hand, he felt incredibly lucky that they had confirmed their relationship. He could now openly care for everything regarding Xie Jingyu, from his diet to his daily life. On the other hand, he had no idea how to approach the most important aspect of a marriage: their physical intimacy.
Wei Xia was nearly being driven mad. However, because of his secret identity as an Alpha, he never dared to take the initiative. At most, he settled for brief kisses. If he went any further, he felt as though he would suffocate from the tension.
What was strange, however, was that Xie Jingyu never brought up the subject either. Xie Jingyu clearly showed that he genuinely liked him, yet Wei Xia had never seen him go through a rut.
Could it be that Xie Jingyu is incapable?
Wei Xia did not dare to ask. He was afraid that asking would reveal his own true gender. If that happened, it would be over. He could not let Xie Jingyu leave him.
Under these circumstances, with both sides harboring their own secrets, they reached a bizarre state of balance. They were clearly head over heels for each other, yet they had never crossed any physical boundaries.
Eventually, a different voice began to emerge from the outside world.
Feng Cong contacted Wei Zhian and used small incentives to fish for information. Soon, he began spreading rumors everywhere.
“Do not believe in this ‘true love’ nonsense. It is all just branding by the Xie family. Let us discuss the truth behind this wealthy man’s low-status marriage.”
“Why would Xie Jingyu marry a useless trophy? Can this really maximize the interests of the Xie family?”
“Wei Xia: An inferior Omega who relied on beauty to climb the social ladder.”
Feng Cong hired ghostwriters to continuously spread negative news online. Gradually, many people began to believe that Xie Jingyu was a cold-hearted, two-faced businessman. They suspected he only married Wei Xia to give his ruthless persona a protective “loving husband” glow.
Cruelly, several pieces of evidence were found to support this theory. A mysterious source leaked a tip: Wei Xia had never been temporarily marked.
“What? That proves nothing? Let me ask you this: if a happily married couple has not even shared a temporary mark, is it because there is no affection, or is it because Xie Jingyu is incapable?”
If Xie Jingyu were incapable, that would be even bigger news. The head of the Xie Group, the rumored top-tier Alpha, was actually impotent!
In his office, Xie Jingyu frowned deeply as he read these boring gossip reports. Fang Jinran stood nearby, trying his best to remain invisible.
“Who posted this? Take it down.”
“I cannot take them all down,” Fang Jinran replied.
Good heavens, one did not need to guess to know it was that playboy from the Feng family. Fang Jinran had contacted people to delete so many posts over the last two days, yet they kept appearing online.
Xie Jingyu rubbed his brow. He knew it was Feng Cong’s doing. There was no need to take it seriously, yet seeing these words made him feel very uncomfortable.
What do they mean by “Wei Xia is useless” or “Wei Xia is an inferior Omega”?! They have no idea how wonderful Wei Xia is!
Xie Jingyu’s expression showed that he was in a very low mood. He was worried that Wei Xia would take these disgusting comments to heart. He suddenly stood up and grabbed his suit jacket from the back of his chair, intending to leave work early and go home.
Just as he stood up, Fang Jinran spoke with a look of immense relief. “Boss, the boss’s wife is here!”
He had just seen a notification in his intelligence group that the boss’s wife had entered the company. They were saved! Fang Jinran felt lucky. As Xie’s top assistant, he was absolutely certain of the reality of their marriage. Usually, the boss’s face was so dark, but he only began to smile when it was time to go home. It was not hard to guess why.
Sure enough, as soon as Fang Jinran finished speaking, Xie Jingyu paused and sat back down. His lips seemed to tilt upward by a fraction. He only spared a single glance at his phone.
The intelligence group is in danger, Fang Jinran thought.
Within two minutes, there was a knock at the office door. Fang Jinran rushed over and opened it to find Wei Xia.
When Wei Xia saw it was Fang Jinran, the smile on his face stiffened for a split second before returning to normal. He smiled at Fang Jinran, entered the room, and raised the thermal container in his hand toward Xie Jingyu with a playful look.
“Jingyu, I came to deliver some pork rib soup.”
Xie Jingyu did not put on any airs. The moment Wei Xia entered, he stood up to greet him. His heart was full of anticipation and joy, yet he said: “You should have told me. I would have sent someone to pick you up.”
Wei Xia smiled. “I had nothing else to do anyway. It is freshly stewed. It would not taste as good if it got cold and had to be reheated.”
After saying this, he cast a seemingly casual glance at Fang Jinran, who was still standing by the door. Fang Jinran felt the hair on his arms stand up! He immediately left the room, not daring to stay and be a third wheel.
Xie Jingyu followed Wei Xia’s gaze. “What are you looking at?”
Wei Xia quickly snapped back to reality. “It is nothing.”
However, his thoughts began to wander uncontrollably.
That man is Jingyu’s secretary. A rather good-looking Omega?
