- Which Fierce Alpha Disguises as a Beta to Abduct a Wife?
- Chapter 40 - Fierce and Overbearing Actions
“I can stay with the Little Young Master. You can go ahead and rest assured,” Jiang Huaiyan said seriously.
Only then did Zhou Yunqing realize that these two were essentially driving him away. He gave Zhou Yunqiu a cross look. “You little ingrate.”
“Brother, don’t worry. In my heart, you are still the most important.”
“That’s more like it.” Zhou Yunqing got out of the car, and Jiang Huaiyan quickly took his seat. He wanted to hold Zhou Yunqiu, but seeing the boy’s battered and disheveled state, he didn’t dare. He wasn’t sure if Zhou Yunqiu had other injuries besides those on his head and hands.
Zhou Yunqiu, seeing the worry and heartache in the man’s eyes, guessed his thoughts. “Aside from my head and hands, I’m not hurt anywhere else.”
As soon as he spoke, Jiang Huaiyan could no longer restrain himself and pulled the boy into a tight embrace. Smelling Jiang Huaiyan’s familiar scent, an endless wave of grievance flooded Zhou Yunqiu’s heart, and his eyes threatened to lose control again.
“I’m sorry, Little Young Master. It’s my fault for not protecting you well,” Jiang Huaiyan said, his voice thick with self-reproach. At such a critical time, he should have been guarding the examination hall, never letting the boy out of his sight. If he hadn’t pinpointed this exact location, he didn’t dare imagine the consequences.
“It’s not your fault. It’s my fault for misplaced trust in Xiao Yi,” Zhou Yunqiu said with a sob. He had never imagined Xiao Yi would treat him this way. They had grown up together, and he believed he had treated him well. When they were kids and Xiao Yi was bullied by classmates, Zhou Yunqiu had charged forward to defend him without fear. Whenever there was good food or fun toys, he always thought of Xiao Yi. He never expected that for the sake of a Beta, Xiao Yi would plot against him like this.
“He’s asking for death!” Hearing Xiao Yi’s name, a cold glint flashed in Jiang Huaiyan’s deep eyes.
“I won’t let him off,” Zhou Yunqiu said. He had to settle this debt. Since Xiao Yi didn’t treat him as a friend, he no longer needed to treat Xiao Yi as one either.
“Alright, we won’t let him off.” Jiang Huaiyan held Zhou Yunqiu even tighter, as if trying to rub the boy into his very marrow. Every second he had spent searching for Zhou Yunqiu, he had told himself that once he found him, he would hold him tight and never let go again.
“You’re holding me too tight. I’m getting blood all over you,” Zhou Yunqiu struggled, trying to push him away, but Jiang Huaiyan wouldn’t loosen his grip.
“It doesn’t matter. I don’t care.”
Zhou Yunqiu’s heart warmed. He pouted and looked at him. “Then do you dare kiss me?”
Jiang Huaiyan lifted his eyes. Ignoring the doctor sitting nearby preparing medication, he pressed his lips directly onto Zhou Yunqiu’s. Zhou Yunqiu’s eyes widened in disbelief. Jiang Huaiyan pried open his teeth, his actions fierce and overbearing.
“Mmm… Jiang…” Zhou Yunqiu finally reacted and pulled back slightly, panting and looking at him with a pleasant surprise. “Were you really that scared?” Otherwise, how could Jiang Huaiyan be so proactive, especially with an outsider present?
“Mm. I was afraid I’d never see you again.” Jiang Huaiyan leaned in, wanting to kiss him again.
“Hey, hey, hey! What are you two doing? Can you pay attention to the setting? His head is still injured; don’t you want him to get better?” The doctor, noticing their behavior, interrupted them with a dissatisfied tone.
Jiang Huaiyan stopped the kissing and simply gathered Zhou Yunqiu back into his arms. Zhou Yunqiu’s terrified heart received an intense comfort, leaving him feeling overjoyed.
“How am I supposed to bandage him if you’re holding him like that?” the doctor asked helplessly.
“Like this.” Zhou Yunqiu pressed his body against Jiang Huaiyan’s chest and tilted his head back to allow the doctor to work.
Doctor: “…Can’t you two just endure it for a bit?”
“Not even a little bit,” Zhou Yunqiu said. Heaven knew how much he had craved Jiang Huaiyan taking the initiative.
Doctor: “…”
“How about this?” Jiang Huaiyan shifted positions, having Zhou Yunqiu sit on his lap facing the doctor.
“Fine, let’s just do it like that.” The doctor had no choice but to proceed. Some of the larger wounds required stitches. Zhou Yunqiu broke out in a cold sweat from the pain.
“Doctor, please be gentler,” Jiang Huaiyan said, his heart aching so much he wished he could face the pain in Zhou Yunqiu’s stead.
“I’m already being very gentle. It’ll be over soon.”
No matter how gentle the doctor was, Zhou Yunqiu’s eyes filled with tears from the pain. He was currently in the midst of his Heat; although the new suppressant was working, his body was still in an extremely sensitive state.
“Qiuqiu, I’m sorry. It’s all my fault.” Heartbroken, Jiang Huaiyan pulled out a tissue and apologized while wiping away the boy’s tears.
“Do you really think it’s your fault?” Zhou Yunqiu glared at him through tear-filled eyes.
“It really is my fault.” If he had known Xiao Yi’s obsession with him would hurt Zhou Yunqiu, he would never have saved him in the first place.
“Then you have to promise me a few things.” Zhou Yunqiu took the opportunity to set conditions.
Jiang Huaiyan agreed unconditionally. “Tell me. As long as it’s within my power, I’ll agree to anything.”
“I want you to stay by my side for the next three days. You aren’t allowed to go anywhere.” His Heat wasn’t over yet. Once the suppressant wore off, he wanted to be with Jiang Huaiyan rather than rely on more drugs.
“Alright.” Whatever he wanted, Jiang Huaiyan would give.
“You said it yourself, you can’t go back on it.”
“Mm. I won’t.”
“You aren’t allowed to leave me. I want you to be my bodyguard forever—only my bodyguard.”
“Are you sure?”
“Positive.” He didn’t want an Alpha; he only wanted Jiang Huaiyan. The more things happened, the clearer he was about what he wanted.
“Your brother wanted you to find…”
Zhou Yunqiu interrupted him. “I’m not looking for an Alpha. I’m looking for you.”
“Little Young Master, now is not the time to make this decision.”
“I’m the one who decides if it’s the right time. You just need to agree.” Fearing a rejection, Zhou Yunqiu used the man’s own words against him. “You just said you’d agree to anything within your power.” He even looked toward the doctor. “You saw it too, right?”
The doctor stayed silent, refusing to get involved in the romantic drama of young couples. However, his ears were perked up high. He had heard that the little troublemaker of the Zhou family had a highly capable Beta bodyguard, but he had never heard that they were together. This was big news!
“Do you agree or not?”
“I agree. Unless you tell me to leave.”
“Then you’d better be careful. Don’t annoy me, or I won’t want you anymore,” Zhou Yunqiu said with a haughty hum.
“Alright, everything will be as you say.”
Zhou Yunqiu felt satisfied and took the opportunity to make several more unreasonable demands. Jiang Huaiyan didn’t object at all, though the doctor was very tempted to roll his eyes. He finally understood how the nickname “Little Scoundrel” had started.
The two of them lingered in the car for quite a while until they arrived at Zhou Yunqing’s villa. Jiang Huaiyan handed the sleeping Zhou Yunqiu over to Zhou Yunqing.
“Where are you going?” Zhou Yunqing frowned. “Qiuqiu will look for you when he wakes up.”
“I have some things to handle. I’ll be back as soon as I’m done.”
“Be careful.” Zhou Yunqing carried Zhou Yunqiu into the villa.
Jiang Huaiyan watched their backs, a cold light sweeping through his eyes.
