- Which Fierce Alpha Disguises as a Beta to Abduct a Wife?
- Chapter 39 - Those Red, Swollen Eyes Wrenched Jiang Huaiyan’s Heart
Unable to endure the torment, which felt like ten thousand ants gnawing at his bones, Zhou Yunqiu slammed his head against the wall. When the minor pain failed to distract him from the agony of his Heat, he struck harder.
With every strike, he murmured Jiang Huaiyan’s name.
“Jiang Huaiyan… Jiang Huaiyan…”
Bright red blood flowed down his forehead. The thick smell of blood mingled with the Omega’s lime-scented pheromones, creating a bizarre and eerie atmosphere in the room.
Outside, Fang Yanting had not expected Zhou Yunqiu’s Heat to arrive so rapidly. He pushed open the door in excitement, only to be horrified by the scene before him.
Zhou Yunqiu was covered in blood—not just his head, but the walls and the floor were splattered with terrifying crimson. Pale with fright, Fang Yanting lunged forward to pull Zhou Yunqiu away as he continued to strike the wall. “Are you looking for a death wish? Stop hitting it!”
Zhou Yunqiu feebly pushed his hand away, his bloodstained eyes devoid of light. Fearing that the boy might actually die there, Fang Yanting risked discovery by calling someone to treat the head wound.
“Zhou Yunqiu, if you want to die, don’t drag me down with you. I have no intention of being buried with you,” Fang Yanting grumbled, reaching out to check the wound and stop the bleeding.
Sensing his approach, Zhou Yunqiu suddenly snapped back to reality. He screamed, pushing the man away, and huddled into the corner, shivering violently. Seeing that the boy still resisted him even in the throes of a Heat, Fang Yanting’s smoldering resentment flared up once more.
He can take a fancy to a Beta like Jiang Huaiyan, yet I, an Alpha, can’t get even a glance from him!
But it didn’t matter. Soon, the boy would be his. When that happened, how could Jiang Huaiyan possibly still want him?
He insisted on squatting in front of Zhou Yunqiu, ignoring the boy’s struggles and resistance, laughing with triumphant malice. “Qiuqiu, right now, I am the only Alpha within a ten-mile radius. However you want it, whatever you need, it’s all up to you.”
Zhou Yunqiu desperately forced himself to stay conscious, but his head throbbed, his body burned, and his vision was a blurred haze.
“Don’t hold back. The longer an Omega endures, the greater the damage,” Fang Yanting said, leaning in with a revolting intent to kiss Zhou Yunqiu’s lips.
Zhou Yunqiu whipped his head to the side. The violent motion brought on a wave of intense vertigo. He collapsed weakly to the floor, unable to fight back any longer.
An Omega in Heat is extremely fragile and sensitive; any injury could potentially be fatal. Zhou Yunqiu thought that he might truly be dying. His only regrets were that he hadn’t slept with Jiang Huaiyan yet, and he hadn’t said a proper goodbye to his brother. Since he hadn’t done either of those things, how could he die?
A sudden burst of ferocity took hold of him. He sat up, using every ounce of his strength to push Fang Yanting away, and began to crawl toward the door. Even if he had to crawl, he would crawl his way out rather than die here and have his body desecrated by Fang Yanting.
Fang Yanting watched him crawl like a spectator watching a clown. The boy’s fingernails scraped against the floor, leaving behind streaks of blood. As he moved, the wound on his forehead reopened; blood dripped and pooled on the ground, creating a gruesome red trail.
As he neared the door, Fang Yanting grabbed Zhou Yunqiu’s ankle. He yanked the boy back with force and tore at his collar, releasing an Alpha’s overbearing, forced pheromones. The stimulus left Zhou Yunqiu paralyzed, able only to sob and tremble.
“No… don’t touch me…”
“Fang Yanting, I beg you… please let me go…”
“My brother… my brother will…”
Zhou Yunqiu was in too much distress to finish a single sentence. The physiological reactions of his Omega body filled him with dread. Tears mingled with blood as they rolled down his face; rather than inciting pity, the sight only made Fang Yanting more excited.
Just as Zhou Yunqiu believed he was truly going to die, a sudden rush of footsteps echoed outside the door.
The next second, the door was kicked open.
Jiang Huaiyan charged in. Seeing the blood-soaked Zhou Yunqiu being bullied on the ground by Fang Yanting, his eyes nearly split with rage. The blood in his veins seemed to flow backward, and the air around him froze with a bone-chilling killing intent.
He was going to kill Fang Yanting. He was going to kill him!
Before Zhou Yunqiu could even register his surprise, Fang Yanting was kicked away. His body slammed heavily against the wall before tumbling to the floor. Jiang Huaiyan walked over and delivered a brutal kick to Fang Yanting’s stomach.
Without giving him a chance to react, Jiang Huaiyan delivered a second kick, then a third… Each strike was delivered with lethal force. Fang Yanting felt as if his internal organs were being kicked out of place; he coughed up blood, his body convulsing in pain.
Jiang Huaiyan’s face was like ice, radiating a soul-deep coldness. His final kick landed squarely between Fang Yanting’s legs.
“AH—!” A shrill, pig-like scream startled Zhou Yunqing and the police officers who had just rushed in.
Zhou Yunqing ignored the noise, rushing forward to scoop up the battered and disheveled Zhou Yunqiu. Sensing his brother’s presence, an overwhelming wave of grievance flooded Zhou Yunqiu’s heart. He clung to his brother and wailed, “Waaaah… Brother… waaaah…”
Zhou Yunqing’s eyes turned red with heartache. He picked the boy up and turned to leave. Jiang Huaiyan was being held back by the police: “Stop! You’ll kill him if you keep going!”
Jiang Huaiyan wrenched his arm free, walked up, and delivered a final kick to Fang Yanting’s jaw. The sound of shifting bone rang out clearly. Fang Yanting blacked out instantly. The police had to forcibly drag Jiang Huaiyan away, fearing he would continue the assault.
In the Car.
Zhou Yunqing administered a new type of suppressant to Zhou Yunqiu. The Omega pheromones were suppressed within his body, and soon the air only smelled of blood. Zhou Yunqiu huddled in his brother’s arms, his eyes swollen from crying.
Zhou Yunqing patted his back comfortingly. “Qiuqiu, let the doctor treat the wound on your head first, okay?”
Zhou Yunqiu didn’t move; he just wanted to hold his brother for a while to recover. His nerves had been stretched to the breaking point, and he still couldn’t quite relax.
“Qiuqiu? Be good.” Zhou Yunqing tried to pull back, but the boy was currently too clingy.
The car door was suddenly pulled open. Jiang Huaiyan stood there, his eyes bloodshot as he looked at Zhou Yunqiu. Sensing the gaze, Zhou Yunqiu looked back. The tears he had finally controlled began to pour down again.
Jiang Huaiyan’s heart wrenched. He climbed into the car, reaching out to hold his Little Young Master. But as his hand neared the bloodstains on the boy’s clothes, he hesitated and pulled back, asking sternly: “Why hasn’t the wound been treated yet?”
He turned and got out, pushing the waiting doctor into the car. “Hurry up and bandage him!”
The doctor worked quickly. The injuries on Zhou Yunqiu’s head were severe, with too many cuts to count. He winced in pain, squeezing Zhou Yunqing’s hand tightly, all while keeping his eyes on Jiang Huaiyan standing outside the car.
Those red, swollen eyes wrenched Jiang Huaiyan’s heart. He couldn’t help but walk to Zhou Yunqing’s side, opening the door. “Eldest Young Master, there are many matters over there waiting for you to handle.”
“Where?” Zhou Yunqing asked.
“With the police.”
“Qiuqiu needs me here,” Zhou Yunqing said.
As soon as he finished speaking, Zhou Yunqiu silently released his grip on his brother’s hand.
Zhou Yunqing: “???”
