- Which Fierce Alpha Disguises as a Beta to Abduct a Wife?
- Chapter 28 - Pout Your Lips, Close Your Eyes, and Wait for a Kiss
“Impossible,” Zhou Yunqiu sobbed, continuing, “That bastard Jiang Huaiyan would never take the initiative to kiss me.”
Jiang Huaiyan: “…”
“Since you’re here, don’t leave.” Zhou Yunqiu reached out and held him tightly, still convinced that this was nothing more than a dream.
Helpless and heartbroken, Jiang Huaiyan gently patted his back, comforting him as he did so. “It’s alright, don’t worry. I’m perfectly fine.”
“Then why did you only come back now?” Zhou Yunqiu asked sorrowfully.
“Because… this is a dream,” Jiang Huaiyan said with a faint smile.
Zhou Yunqiu lifted his head, looking at the man’s face through a haze of tears. He pointed to his own lips and said, “Then kiss me.”
Looking at those pouted lips, Jiang Huaiyan didn’t hold back any longer. He leaned down and pressed his lips against the other’s reddened mouth. Due to the fever, those lips were burning hot—a heat so intense it made Jiang Huaiyan’s heart tremble.
The temperature was too high.
Jiang Huaiyan tried to let go to find a doctor for some fever reducers, but Zhou Yunqiu refused to release him.
“You aren’t allowed to leave. You are mine. No one is allowed to take you away from me.” Zhou Yunqiu forcefully pushed Jiang Huaiyan down onto the bed and straddled him, lowering his head to continue their kiss.
The kiss was long and passionate.
While kissing him, Jiang Huaiyan released a small amount of Alpha pheromones, attempting to provide some relief to the young man’s disordered glands. Frequent recurring fevers were often caused by glandular instability.
Feeling the Alpha’s pheromones, Zhou Yunqiu felt much more comfortable, and his strength increased. He intended to enjoy this dream to the fullest. Only in dreams would Jiang Huaiyan ever be this proactive.
“Little Young Master…” Jiang Huaiyan felt his blood boiling from the kisses. He caught Zhou Yunqiu’s hands, trying to make him stop.
However, Zhou Yunqiu wouldn’t listen. This dream felt so real—so real that he was deeply enamored by it. He couldn’t let this opportunity slip away.
“Jiang Huaiyan, I’m going to devour you tonight.”
“You’re sick.”
“It’s a dream; it doesn’t matter.”
Zhou Yunqiu treated it as a dream, but Jiang Huaiyan could not. This was reality. Zhou Yunqiu’s high fever was not breaking. No matter how much of a scoundrel he might be, he couldn’t take advantage of someone in this state, even if Zhou Yunqiu might actually be happy about it.
“Little Young Master, be good.”
“I don’t want to be good. You weren’t good—you made me look for you for so many days.” Mentioning the source of his grief, Zhou Yunqiu felt like crying again.
Jiang Huaiyan took the chance to sit up, kissing Zhou Yunqiu’s swollen eyes. “If you’re good, I can grant you one small wish.”
“Promises made in dreams are useless. They don’t count once I wake up.”
“They count.”
“You’re lying.” After being soothed by the Alpha pheromones, Zhou Yunqiu’s mind became clearer, but he still insisted this was a dream. “Don’t try to trick me. I’m sleeping with you today.”
As he spoke, Zhou Yunqiu began to take action.
Jiang Huaiyan was truly at his wit’s end. He didn’t dare scold or strike him, so he could only release pheromones with a hypnotic property. Before long, Zhou Yunqiu began to feel drowsy, yawning repeatedly.
“If you’re tired, sleep for a while.”
Zhou Yunqiu shook his head, forcing himself to stay awake to continue kissing him.
“Little Young Master, you need to sleep.”
“No. If I sleep, I won’t be able to see you.”
“You’ll see me when you wake up.”
Zhou Yunqiu still shook his head. He even gave himself a sharp pinch, using the pain to stimulate his tired nerves.
“Little Young Master!” Jiang Huaiyan looked at the red mark on the leg where Zhou Yunqiu had pinched himself, his heart aching.
Suddenly, Zhou Yunqiu’s eyes widened. “Why does it hurt?”
Jiang Huaiyan couldn’t keep up with his train of thought.
“Aren’t you supposed to be unable to feel pain in dreams?”
Jiang Huaiyan: “…”
“So, you’ve really come back?” Zhou Yunqiu looked at Jiang Huaiyan seriously. “And you actually kissed me of your own accord?”
Jiang Huaiyan felt his scalp go numb under that gaze. Before he could talk his way out of it, Zhou Yunqiu finally succumbed to the pheromones and fell into a deep sleep.
Looking at the sleeping face, Jiang Huaiyan let out a massive sigh of relief. He had almost been found out. Fortunately, the drowsiness had kicked in just in time.
He tucked Zhou Yunqiu in and then went to find the accompanying doctor to ask about the illness. Once he confirmed there was no life-threatening danger, he felt much more at ease.
The people arranged by Zhou Yunqing (the elder brother) arrived to take Jiang Huaiyan to the hospital for an examination. His refusal was futile, so he had to follow them, hoping to finish early so he could return to Zhou Yunqiu’s side.
Unfortunately, the first person Zhou Yunqiu saw upon waking up was not him.
However, when Jiang Huaiyan returned, Zhou Yunqiu was still asleep. He ended up sleeping for a full twelve hours.
When Zhou Yunqiu finally opened his eyes and saw Jiang Huaiyan’s face, it felt surreal. Thinking he was still dreaming, he reached out for a hug.
Jiang Huaiyan did not hug him. Zhou Yunqing was standing right beside them.
“Why won’t you hug me?” Zhou Yunqiu asked, his mouth pouting sadly.
Jiang Huaiyan kept his eyes fixed forward, trying to remain stoic.
“Jiang Huaiyan, you aren’t listening to me. You’re in trouble.”
Jiang Huaiyan caught a glimpse of Zhou Yunqing’s face darkening. He quickly grabbed Zhou Yunqiu’s arm and shook it gently. “Little Young Master, wake up. This isn’t a dream.”
“It is a dream. Only in a dream would you kiss me.”
Jiang Huaiyan instantly felt a deathly glare directed at him.
“Now, you have to kiss me again. Hurry up, or I’m going to make a scene.” Zhou Yunqiu hummed, lifting his head, pouting his lips, and closing his eyes as he waited for a kiss.
Zhou Yunqing finally lost his patience. “Are you going to wake up yourself, or do I have to slap you awake?”
Hearing that familiar voice, Zhou Yunqiu’s delicate brows furrowed; something felt wrong. Two seconds later, his eyes snapped open and he looked toward the source of the sound. He saw his own elder brother looking as if he were ready to slap him at any moment.
He trembled with fright and instinctively scrambled up to hide behind Jiang Huaiyan for protection.
Jiang Huaiyan gave a stiff, forced smile. He felt that he was in even more danger than Zhou Yunqiu.
“Get over here,” Zhou Yunqing commanded coldly.
“No.” Zhou Yunqiu turned his head away, refusing to look at him. Instead, he grabbed Jiang Huaiyan’s hand, checking him over multiple times. “No injuries, no missing limbs… You’re the real Jiang Huaiyan, right?”
“Little Young Master, it’s me. It’s not a dream. I’m really back.”
“If you’re back, why didn’t you wake me? I thought I was still dreaming.” Zhou Yunqiu hugged Jiang Huaiyan excitedly. “You’re finally back. You scared me to death.”
Jiang Huaiyan looked at Zhou Yunqing awkwardly. Zhou Yunqing rubbed the bridge of his nose and turned away, unable to bear the sight.
Jiang Huaiyan lightly patted Zhou Yunqiu’s back to calm his excitement. “I’ll be fine. Don’t worry, Little Young Master.”
“Those words aren’t believable at all. You aren’t allowed to do anything that dangerous ever again. And you!” Zhou Yunqiu glared angrily at his brother. “Don’t turn your face away. Look at me.”
Zhou Yunqing turned around to face him.
“You aren’t allowed to take on such dangerous work anymore either, do you hear me?”
Seeing that his younger brother had returned to his lively self, the anger in Zhou Yunqing’s heart instantly evaporated. He smiled and agreed, “Fine. Safety first in everything.”
“Keep your word. If you don’t, may I be hit by a car the moment I step outside.” Knowing exactly what his brother’s weakness was, Zhou Yunqiu swore a poisonous oath upon himself.
