Which Fierce Alpha Disguises as a Beta to Abduct a Wife? - Chapter 26
Jiang Huaiyan replied, “…Your brother said he’s going to beat you to death when he gets back.” He was giving Zhou Yunqiu a fair warning.
Zhou Yunqiu adopted the attitude of a dead pig that doesn’t fear boiling water. “Well, he hasn’t come back yet, has he?”
Jiang Huaiyan: “…”
“Do you want it or not? This is your one and only chance. If you don’t want it now, I’m deleting it,” Zhou Yunqiu sent an emoji of someone rolling on the ground in heartbreak.
The image of that photo already lingered in Jiang Huaiyan’s mind. Though he hadn’t looked at it closely, it was already seductive enough. He really wanted to save another copy.
“If you don’t want it, I’m deleting it. Hmph,” Zhou Yunqiu said, quickly sending a screenshot showing he was about to hit the delete button.
Jiang Huaiyan saved it instantly. He cropped out the delete button from the screenshot, leaving only the photo of the perky buttocks. Then, he replied with satisfaction: “Go ahead and delete it.”
Zhou Yunqiu: “??? Are you sure?”
“Positive.” After all, he had already saved it.
“You’re truly going to be the death of me! Fine, it’s deleted. I’m never showing you anything again.” After saying that, Zhou Yunqiu stopped replying; he was likely off sulking somewhere.
Jiang Huaiyan opened his private photo album. As he looked at the photo he had secretly saved, his Adam’s apple bobbed slightly. This photo was perfect for viewing at night before bed. He put his phone away and lit a cigarette, suppressing the simmering flames deep within his heart.
Ten minutes later, Zhou Yunqing stepped out. “Let’s go.”
“Yes, sir.”
“Have you considered what I mentioned earlier?” Zhou Yunqing asked while they were in the car.
“What matter?”
“The resignation. Qiuqiu has indeed gone too far with his nonsense.” Zhou Yunqing wasn’t entirely sure of Jiang Huaiyan’s intentions. It was highly unlikely he could find another bodyguard as competent as Jiang Huaiyan, but his younger brother was truly becoming too much of a rascal.
“Eldest Young Master, if I ever wish to leave, I will inform you.” He couldn’t leave yet. Although he had confirmed he wasn’t Zhou Yushen’s son, he still hadn’t discovered the cause of his mother’s death. Back then, the last person his mother saw before she died was Zhou Yushen. He had taken this bodyguard job specifically for this investigation.
However, Zhou Yushen had been abroad, so he hadn’t had a good opportunity to investigate. Zhou Yushen only returned a month ago, and within a few days of his return, he became gravely ill. This had prevented Jiang Huaiyan from clearing up the matter until now.
Hearing this, Zhou Yunqing understood his answer. He looked at Jiang Huaiyan with a meaningful gaze. “What do you think of my brother?”
“He is very good.”
“Then, do you like him?”
Jiang Huaiyan glanced at Zhou Yunqing through the rearview mirror. Both men looked very serious.
He paused for two seconds before answering, “The Little Young Master is my employer. My purpose is to protect him. Please rest assured, Eldest Young Master, I will not do anything I shouldn’t.”
“As long as you know.” Zhou Yunqing knew he couldn’t talk his brother out of it, so he could only warn Jiang Huaiyan. “Qiuqiu must find an Alpha. Without an Alpha’s pheromones, he will die. He’s only able to be this lively right now because of medication. I will scout a suitable Alpha for him again. During this time, I hope you will be more patient with him. If you need anything, feel free to ask.”
“Understood.” Jiang Huaiyan’s face was tense as he accepted the terms.
“Keep those words in your heart.”
“I understand, Eldest Young Master.”
Jiang Huaiyan would be a fool not to understand. Zhou Yunqing was forbidding him from being with Zhou Yunqiu. For now, he could only care for Zhou Yunqiu and could not cross any lines. He gripped the steering wheel tightly, cast aside all distractions, and focused on driving.
As the car crossed a large bridge, the vehicle in front suddenly stopped, blocking his path. He slammed on the brakes, his cold eyes fixed on the people stepping out of the car ahead.
They’re here!
Pretending to be oblivious, he looked at Zhou Yunqing. “Eldest Young Master, stay in the car and don’t come out.”
Zhou Yunqing frowned and gave a grunt of affirmation. After Jiang Huaiyan stepped out, Zhou Yunqing rolled up the windows to prevent the outside air from seeping in. He also twisted open a container and took a pheromone stabilizer pill to avoid being affected by the chaos outside.
Once Jiang Huaiyan was out, a group of people surrounded him. He scanned them with cold eyes. He recognized these faces from the files, but there was one new face among them—an extra person.
Sixteen people in total. Had Zhou Yunqing made additional arrangements?
Jiang Huaiyan showed no fear, sweeping a cold gaze across the circle. The Alphas looked at each other and then at Jiang Huaiyan. “As long as you hand over the person in the car, we can let you go.”
Jiang Huaiyan sneered. “And if I don’t?”
“Then don’t blame us for being rough. Look at our numbers; we have you completely overwhelmed. You can’t win alone.”
“Whether I can win or not, we’ll only know once we try.”
“In my opinion, there’s no need to try. We are all S-class Alphas.”
Jiang Huaiyan tugged at his tie. When he looked up again, his deep eyes carried a hint of cold, murderous intent. He struck first. With just two moves, he sent the two Alphas in front of him crashing to the ground, so pained they couldn’t immediately get back up.
The stranger Alpha standing at the very back observed Jiang Huaiyan’s face intently. Jiang Huaiyan’s expression remained unchanged as he fought with speed, precision, and ruthlessness. Although these men had been tipped off beforehand, they fought for real to make the scene look authentic—fists hitting flesh.
After all, Jiang Huaiyan was just one man. Facing an onslaught of fifteen people, he inevitably took a few hits. He let out a pained groan and suddenly locked eyes with the stranger Alpha.
The stranger Alpha sensed something was wrong and instinctively took a step back, releasing a potent wave of aggressive pheromones. The pheromones were so intense that Jiang Huaiyan felt his blood pumping, screaming at him to retaliate. He suppressed it with all his might, quickly grabbed the Alpha, and unleashed a flurry of punches and kicks.
The sequence of moves was so fast it was impossible to dodge; the Alpha didn’t even have a chance to strike back. For the final blow, Jiang Huaiyan struck the Alpha’s gland. The man let out a wretched scream.
The other Alphas also began using aggressive pheromones, but theirs weren’t as vicious as the stranger’s. Jiang Huaiyan endured the agony and threw them to the ground. Just as his pheromones were about to explode from the strain of holding back, one Alpha followed the original plan and pushed Jiang Huaiyan toward the bridge railing.
Jiang Huaiyan feigned a lack of defense and fell directly over, plunging into the river below.
From the car, Zhou Yunqing saw this and rushed out. The chaotic mix of pheromones in the air made it hard for him to breathe. He covered his nose with a wet wipe and ran to the edge of the bridge to look down.
The river was calm; there was no sign of Jiang Huaiyan. He grabbed the Alpha by the collar and roared, “Who told you to push him over?!”
“I’m sorry, I… I got caught up in the fight and couldn’t help myself…” The Alpha lowered his head in panic to admit his mistake.
“If anything happens to him, you’ll pay with your life!” Zhou Yunqing threw the Alpha aside like trash and roared at the others standing stupidly by. “What are you staring at? Go find him!”
He had only wanted to test Jiang Huaiyan; he never intended to take his life.
