When A Commoner Carries The Child Of A Stranger Alpha - Chapter 14
Shen Buqi spent the entire afternoon working while lost in thought. He didn’t know what falling in love meant, but he knew that when spring arrived, his cat Mimi liked to go look for female cats to play with that was animal instinct.
He didn’t care if Mimi found a mate, but if it were A-Shi…
He was absolutely certain he didn’t want A-Shi to have a relationship more intimate with anyone else but him. But falling in love, that was supposed to be a part of human nature, right?
If it was something uncontrollable, then he would just have to make himself the other party in that intimate relationship.
After hesitating for a long time, he finally pulled up a stool and sat down next to the boss right before it was time to clock out.
The boss was balancing the accounts. Seeing him walk over, he gave a half-smile. “What’s wrong? Still thinking about it?”
Shen Buqi nodded honestly. “I want to fall in love with A-Shi. I want to marry A-Shi.”
His tone was earnest and his voice rang out clearly. The boss paused, his smile fading.
“You don’t even know what love is, and you want to fall in love? Forget it, just treat it as a fling and leave it at that.”
Shen Buqi froze, denying it immediately. “I am not playing with A-Shi.”
“If you’re not playing, then what are you doing?” The boss turned to face him, his emerald apricot eyes flashing with a strange, hard to fathom light. “You want to turn him into your possession, you want him to belong to you completely, but you refuse to use love to do it. That is what a fling is.”
Shen Buqi grew even more confused. Ever since he had met the boss, he always felt that the man spoke oddly sometimes, though he could never pinpoint exactly what was so strange about it.
The boss suddenly laughed again, reaching out to ruffle Shen Buqi’s head. “But then again, it’s not too late.”
“Starting from now, stop treating him the way you treat Mimi. Treat him the way you would treat a lover. Be good to him, but not too good. Make him be good to you too, and make it so he can’t leave you.”
He glanced at Shen Buqi after speaking. Unsurprisingly, the boy’s eyes were as clear and blank as an idiot’s. Shaking his head at his own absurdity, the boss added.
“If you don’t understand that, then just go back today, pick a place you think is beautiful, and tell him you love him very much. Tell him you want to be with him. Ask him if it’s okay. If it’s not okay, tell him you will keep being good to him anyway.”
Shen Buqi did exactly as he was told, and even outdid the instructions. He had even prepared a gift, the silver ring set with a purple flint.
It just so happened that the roses had bloomed today. Shen Buqi led Ji Weishi into the middle of the sea of red flowers. A gentle breeze brushed past, carrying a rich fragrance that swirled around their noses.
He suddenly stood on his tiptoes and gently kissed the Alpha, who was half a head taller than him.
This was also something the boss had taught him, saying that appropriate physical intimacy could increase the probability of A-Shi accepting him.
Ji Weishi didn’t dodge. Instead, he bent down and compliantly accepted the kiss. He even caught the soft tongue just as it was about to retreat, using his own to hook it and guide Shen Buqi’s pliant tongue around his own mouth.
Then, following Shen Buqi’s hot tongue back into his warm mouth, he played mischievously in that soft space, licking and sucking in slow, deep circles.
By the time they parted, the corners of Shen Buqi’s eyes were uncontrollably flushed from the intensity of the kiss. His tongue rested dazed against his reddened lips, taking quite a while to catch his breath before he looked down to slip the silver ring onto Ji Weishi’s finger, smoothly reciting his prepared lines:
“A-Shi, please be with me. I love you, I want to fall in love with you, and I want to marry you. I want us to never separate.”
As he spoke, a faint pink ripple hooked the outer corners of his eyes, and a rich lotus fragrance wafted from his body, soothing Ji Weishi like a comfortable big cat.
Spoken in that cool, clear voice, those words carried a few extra layers of credibility.
Even though they had known each other for less than a month, all things considered.
Ji Weishi took Shen Buqi’s hand back into his own and said with a curved smile, “Alright. I like Xiao Yi too. Let’s never separate in the future, okay?”
He no longer had the cautious, ruthless appearance he possessed when he first arrived in District 7, and he couldn’t even be bothered to investigate what secrets this person was hiding.
He knew he had become addicted to a drug named Shen Buqi, a drug he could not quit, and one that only made him crave more.
Ji Weishi himself wasn’t sure if this was genuine affection or the sheer instinct of an Alpha’s susceptibility period. He only knew he wanted to possess this person, because no one else had ever made him feel this way.
It was a mixture of the sorrow and the pleasure of sinking while entirely conscious.
He could perceive that this person treated him with one hundred percent goodness, but he could also perceive that this person hadn’t actually fallen in love.
He should have refused, but the predatory desire buried deep in his bones slowly crawled out, wrapping around him until it nearly drove him mad.
Shen Buqi didn’t notice the darkening gaze. He was only focused on his joy, the happiness made him want to leap in the air. The boss was right, kissing really did work.
A-Shi had agreed.
They could fall in love now, and they could get married later. And after that? A-Shi would be his forever.
Once again, both of them had gotten exactly what they wanted.
The next day when he went to get his food, the Omega food server looked at Shen Buqi with a face full of surprise. “Mr. Shen, your lips are very red.”
Shen Buqi’s lips were terribly red today, and even slightly swollen. His usually pale, thin lips looked incredibly… erotic today, no matter how one looked at them.
He subconsciously touched his lips. They felt numb and tingly. After they got together last night, A-Shi had held him and kissed him many more times.
It was supposed to have ended, but he found A-Shi’s tongue so incredible, how it could wrap around his own tongue and move all over the place, that he couldn’t help but ask A-Shi how he did it.
Then he was pinned down and kissed for a long time all over again. In the end, Shen Buqi still hadn’t learned how it was done.
Ji Weishi had gathered him into his arms, his eyes crinkling gently. “It’s fine. It’s okay if Xiao Yi doesn’t know how, it’s enough that I know.”
Recalling this, Shen Buqi froze for a long time, suddenly feeling a sense of embarrassment, and chose to stay silent.
On the other hand, Aethelis, who was queuing behind him, let out a cold snort. “How else could it happen?”
She then curled her eyes at the server. “How about I do that to you tonight too?”
The Omega stomped her foot. “Aethelis, you’re terrible! I really don’t understand~”
Aethelis curled her lip. “Do you really not understand, or are you saving yourself for your destined Alpha? If you ask me, you should just find a partner already. Back in school, you kept picking and choosing, insisting on finding a high-level Alpha. Look at things now. Alphas are hooking up with us Betas instead.”
The two of them had been schoolmates, and the Omega had long grown used to Aetheli’s sharp tongue. She replied casually.
“Stop talking nonsense. Not even the Protectors can resist an AO marking. You’re only talking big now, but if I actually go into heat, what can you even do? Squirt a face full of saliva on me?”
Aethelis shrugged and carried her two portions of food back home.
The speaker meant nothing by it, but the listener took it to heart.
Shen Buqi didn’t know what an “AO marking” was, but he knew Ji Weishi was an Alpha. Anything related to A-Shi was an important matter, so he thought about asking the boss.
He couldn’t care about anything else after finishing his meal and was in a hurry to go to work.
However, Ji Weishi took his hand. “I’ll walk you to work from now on.”
Shen Buqi blanked for a moment, immediately refusing. “You can’t. It’s too dangerous outside.”
Ji Weishi’s eyes rimmed with red again. “But… but I want to spend more time with you. I don’t want to be so far away from you.”
Such a simple request. As lovers, prolonged separation was indeed not a good thing.
Shen Buqi instinctively wanted to agree, but the words wouldn’t come out when they reached his lips. What if?
What if they happened to run into some bad people? If he lost A-Shi because of this, he would be devastated.
Unfortunately, even if his heart were made of steel, he couldn’t withstand Ji Weishi licking and kissing him like this, not to mention his heart always softened the moment he faced Ji Weishi.
“Alright,” he answered, trying to dodge Ji Weishi’s licking. “But you must wear… mgh… wear the bracelet properly.”
This was a conclusion Shen Buqi had reached through observation. He noticed that some people would wear other people’s bracelets, and those who wore them always held their heads up very high when they spoke, making people feel quite uncomfortable.
But those people seemed to feel pretty good about themselves.
Shen Buqi guessed it must be quite comfortable, otherwise why would they keep wearing them?
Having received an affirmative answer, Ji Weishi’s eyes lit up instantly. His lips pressed against Shen Buqi’s reddened mouth, his tongue licking again and again, pinning and sucking that piece of soft flesh he had thoroughly explored for a long time before letting go.
Along the way, he clung to Shen Buqi, nuzzling against him relentlessly.
It was likely the instinct of an Alpha’s susceptibility period; he allowed himself to indulge in drawing close to Shen Buqi.
Shen Buqi granted his every demand. His two thin lips were now so full they looked as if they had drunk blood.
Only when they arrived at the workplace did Ji Weishi reluctantly let go of the person in his arms. Seeing that his eyes showed signs of reddening again, Shen Buqi quickly promised to let him come pick him up in the evening.
Ji Weishi nodded in satisfaction, but then blinked his clear black eyes like a child.
Shen Buqi looked up at him in confusion, exposing a stretch of his cold, white neck. Seizing the opportunity, Ji Weishi leaned down and sucked a red mark onto the side of his neck before leaving contentedly.
As soon as he left, the boss popped his head out from inside the door, clicking his tongue in admiration. “Tsk, Alphas really have boundless energy.”
Shen Buqi was still rubbing his neck in a daze, but hearing these words felt like a keyword had been triggered. He immediately followed up with a question, “Boss, what is that ‘AO marking’ between Alphas and Omegas? Is it very important?”
The boss cast a sidelong glance at him, lifting a hand to run it through his long hair. His voice was raspy. “Whether it’s important or not, what does it have to do with you? What, are you going to differentiate now?”
A secondary gender usually differentiated around the age of fifteen. Shen Buqi had passed that age by who knew how many years, the boss’s words were purely sarcastic.
Shen Buqi shook his head seriously. “I heard them say that Alphas and Omegas have an AO marking and must be together. I want to know if that’s true.”
The boss patted his shoulder.
“Good boy, go inside. Get to work first, stop thinking about these useless things.”
But Shen Buqi was relentless. “What happens to an Alpha if they don’t end up with an Omegas?”
The boss’s eyelids drooped slightly, looking as if he had been pestered to the point of impatience. “What else could happen? They might just feel uncomfortable occasionally.”
“Uncomfortable?” Another blind spot in Shen Buqi’s knowledge.
The boss stared at him fixedly, looking completely helpless.
After a brief standoff, Shen Buqi realized he probably wouldn’t get an answer, or at least, not an answer that would satisfy him.
He turned around and went inside to work.
The boss, however, remained still for a long time, the gaze he directed toward Shen Buqi carrying a faint, hidden look of pity.
When Chen Zixuan arrived and saw him standing there like a statue, she found it curious and asked.
“Boss, what are you doing?”
Instead of answering, the boss asked a question of his own. “Zixuan, let me ask you. If there were an Alpha and a Beta, which one would you choose?”
“Definitely the Alpha,” Chen Zixuan answered without a second thought.
Then, growing wary, she added, “But that Beta isn’t Brother Shen, right? If it’s him, I choose Brother Shen.”
The boss didn’t speak. After a long while, he let out a brief laugh.
“Yeah. If it were me, I’d choose Shen Buqi too.”
“A pity I’m neither an Alpha nor one of you Omegas. I don’t get a choice.”
