What to Do If the White Moonlight Omega Falls in Love with Me - Chapter 37
After eating, Yan Qingran asked Cha Yuxuan hesitantly, “Should I take you back to school in a bit?”
Yan Qingran was thinking of several things. First, Cha Yuxuan probably hadn’t applied for a leave of absence. Second, although their relationship had progressed, it hadn’t been officially confirmed. Third, there was only one bed in the house, and the sofa was too small for either of them to sleep comfortably.
However, sending away an Omega who had just received a mark was completely against Alpha protocols. Even though Yan Qingran wanted her to stay, she decided to prioritize the “big picture.”
Cha Yuxuan shook her head. “Do you think I’ll be able to sleep if I go back?” Seeing Yan Qingran’s silence, she added, “If I don’t sleep well, I won’t have the energy for class tomorrow, which might lead to me failing.”
Yan Qingran swallowed hard. “I could give you one of the shirts I wear often.” It has my pheromones on it.
Ugh, she’s so thick-headed. Cha Yuxuan resisted the urge to roll her eyes. What is it like to have a crush on someone so ascetic and hard to flirt with? Answer: Just force the issue.
She ignored Yan Qingran’s expression and strolled toward the bathroom, leaving a casual remark behind: “I’m going to shower.” Before closing the door, she popped her head out. “No peeking! And prepare a set of pajamas for me.”
Yan Qingran really wanted to tell her that it was dangerous for an Alpha and an Omega to spend the night alone in a room, especially for an S-class Alpha like herself who struggled with self-control during heat. Besides, as for the bathroom lock—she could snap it with her bare hands. She didn’t need to “peek” if she really wanted to see.
She walked into the bedroom and noticed the quilt was folded neatly. The clothes in the closet had been re-sorted by length, thickness, and type.
Oh no! Yan Qingran’s ears turned red. She hurriedly opened a drawer and her legs went weak; she nearly fainted on the spot. Her “toys” had also been organized by size. The bright pink font on some of the unopened packaging seemed to magnify before her eyes:
#What should an Alpha do during heat without an Omega? It helps you release the waves of restlessness, providing a soft touch and wrap-around sensation comparable to an Omega’s birth canal, letting you feel incomparable…
Yan Qingran felt dizzy, as if she had lost her sense of gravity. She steadied her head, closed the drawer, and walked out of the bedroom step by step, mentally chanting to stay calm.
Every Alpha has these, right? she comforted herself. It’s not a big deal. She’ll understand. Amidst her racing thoughts, Cha Yuxuan finished her shower and walked out wrapped in a towel. “Where are the pajamas?”
“Ah?” Yan Qingran snapped back to reality. “I’ll get them for you.”
Cha Yuxuan followed her in while drying her hair. “Just a T-shirt or shirt you usually wear is fine.”
“Okay.” Yan Qingran had been worrying that her own tank-top pajamas might be too revealing; now the problem was solved.
Cha Yuxuan took the T-shirt and a pair of brand-new underwear. Before she could say anything, Yan Qingran bolted out of the room and shut the door.
As she changed, Cha Yuxuan recalled Yan Qingran’s awkward behavior and muttered, “An Alpha’s ‘heat-relief tool’? As if that’s more useful than me. Hmph. All these unrealistic things should be thrown away eventually.” Who would have thought that this innocent-looking girl with a touch of baby fat would have such a strong streak of possessiveness?
When Cha Yuxuan came out, Yan Qingran was standing at the door with a hairdryer. The long T-shirt barely covered her hips, leaving her fair, slender legs exposed. Yan Qingran forced herself to look away. “Want to dry your hair?”
“Mm.”
After drying the girl’s hair, Yan Qingran went to shower. Cha Yuxuan climbed onto the bed and played on her phone, taking up the center of the mattress. She grew drowsy and looked ready to fall asleep at any moment.
Suddenly, a phone rang. Cha Yuxuan checked her own phone—no calls. She looked at Yan Qingran’s phone; the screen displayed “Dad.” She grabbed the phone, hopped off the bed, and opened the door, only to crash right into Yan Qingran who was about to enter.
A faint fragrance drifted over—a fresh, simple shower gel scent, the same one Cha Yuxuan was wearing. She blinked and held up the phone. “A call from your dad.”
Yan Qingran took the phone and pulled her back into the room. “Go wait for me on the bed.” Realizing how that sounded, she added quickly, “I mean, just wait for me so we can sleep.” Still feeling awkward, she scratched her head. “One pillow for each person.”
So, an AO bed then, Cha Yuxuan thought happily, curling up on the bed and staring at her without blinking.
Yan Qingran answered the call just before Yan Bing was about to hang up. “Hello?”
Yan Bing’s hearty voice boomed out, “Why did it take so long? Were you doing ‘loving things’ with your dear girl?”
The speaker was on, and the voice echoed through the room. Both girls fell into instant silence. Cha Yuxuan covered her face with her hands; she swore she hadn’t pressed the speaker button, but it must have been hit accidentally when they were passing the phone.
Yan Qingran turned off the speaker and said with forced calm, “Let’s talk business.”
Yan Bing laughed. “I told Mary about your relationship. She thinks we need to buy some gifts for your girl, like cosmetics or bags. Do you know her preferences?”
Yan Qingran thought for a moment. “I gave her lipstick before, but she usually only wears light makeup, so she might not need much of that. You can help me bring back some dresses or bags.”
Cha Yuxuan tried to pretend she wasn’t listening, but her attention was fixed on Yan Qingran. So her family already knows about me? And they’re preparing gifts?
Yan Bing continued, “Okay. What are her measurements?”
Yan Qingran paused. “Just buy a bag.”
Yan Bing knew exactly what she was thinking. “Tsk tsk, you little stingy miser. You want dresses but won’t give measurements? I’ve never seen a more ridiculous Alpha.”
“None of your business,” Yan Qingran retorted, switching the phone to her other hand.
“Fine, I won’t nag. But you have to let me see her when I get back.”
“Mm,” Yan Qingran agreed.
“Alright. Have a pleasant evening. Sleep early, and don’t keep your girl waiting too long.”
Yan Qingran wanted to ask how he was so certain Cha Yuxuan was right there with her, but she decided against it. After a quick goodbye, she hung up.
She sat on the edge of the bed and decided to explain Yan Bing’s comments. “He just likes to joke. Don’t mind him.”
Cha Yuxuan blinked. “Does your dad know about me?”
“Mm-hmm,” Yan Qingran nodded.
“And they want to see me?”
Yan Qingran froze, then nodded. She guessed it already?
Cha Yuxuan continued, “So you’ve liked me for a long time? Is that why you’ve made so many preparations?”
“I had different feelings for you early on,” Yan Qingran said frankly, “but I didn’t know it was ‘liking’ until later.”
Cha Yuxuan looked thoughtful and said in a milky voice, “Then you’re a pig.”
Yan Qingran was stunned. Did I say something wrong again?
Cha Yuxuan poked her nose. “Silley! You liked me but didn’t pursue me, waiting for me to take the lead. That’s so stupid.”
Yan Qingran couldn’t argue. She had indeed been hesitant, unsure whether to break her engagement and pursue what she wanted or follow the contract and wait a year. It was only when Cha Yuxuan took her hand that she decided to abandon the “optimal path” laid out for her life.
Cha Yuxuan stuck out her tongue. “Fine, fine. You’re actually quite smart. I won’t look down on you.”
Yan Qingran couldn’t help but counter, “I’m the stupid one? You’re the silly one. Do you know how dangerous it is to just follow an Alpha during heat? Your behavior today could have made an Alpha lose control. Putting yourself in an unpredictable situation is terrifying. Are you silly or what?”
“I only did those things because that Alpha was you,” Cha Yuxuan argued. “I don’t care about other Alphas; at most, they’re just regular friends.”
Yan Qingran frowned. “Still, you can’t do what you did today. I almost lost control. And being pushed into a corner… I felt uncomfortable because I was afraid I’d accidentally hurt you, okay?”
Cha Yuxuan felt both annoyed and flustered, her voice rising. “Am I not more useful than that ‘tool’ of yours?!”
“I’ve never tried it with an Omega, how would I know?!” Yan Qingran blurted out.
The air froze instantly. Cha Yuxuan stared at her with a half-smile. “Do you want to try?”
“I don’t have that thought! I… I just said it casually,” Yan Qingran said nervously.
“Don’t be afraid,” Cha Yuxuan patted her head. “If you want to, I can consider it. It’s a normal physiological need; everyone has them.”
Yan Qingran whispered, “Then you can’t find anyone else. Only me.”
Cha Yuxuan frowned. “What are you worried about? I’m not that kind of casual person.” She patted the mattress. “Alright, come up and sleep. I’m tired and have an early class tomorrow.”
Yan Qingran lay down stiffly on the edge of the bed; it felt like there was a galaxy between them. “I’ll take you in the morning so you can sleep a bit longer.”
Cha Yuxuan turned on her side and beckoned. “Come over here.”
Thinking she had something to say, Yan Qingran leaned in.
Cha Yuxuan moved over a bit. “A bit closer. Move your body over too.”
Yan Qingran narrowed her eyes. Think I can’t catch you? She moved quickly and pinned Cha Yuxuan’s shoulders. “Speak. What is it?”
Cha Yuxuan blinked. “Let go first.”
Yan Qingran let go, and Cha Yuxuan immediately turned the tables, wrapping her arms around her. “Okay, now we can sleep.”
Yan Qingran: With you like this… I really can’t sleep…
The next morning, many people saw Cha Yuxuan getting out of Yan Qingran’s car, wearing Yan Qingran’s clothes. Yan Qingran even helped her carry her bag and breakfast all the way to the classroom.
The campus forum exploded: “Did they… do it? [Groundhog scream]”
User 1: Watch your words, be careful of the toxic solo fans. User 2: ‘Do it’ my foot. They aren’t even together. Brain-rotted shippers can get out. User 3: Is User 2 sick? The forum allows shipping. You’re just salty [folded hands].
The small backlash from solo fans was quickly drowned out by the shippers’ cries of joy. Yun Qi secretly messaged Bo Hang a photo: Cha Yuxuan, in a hoodie, leaning behind Yan Qingran with her head down, while Yan Qingran glanced back with a faint smile. They looked incredibly intimate.
Yun Qi: This is an exclusive, one-of-a-kind photo. Don’t spread it! I promised Chacha, I’d keep it a secret, so I only sent it to you. Yun Qi: Also, another exclusive: Chacha spent the night at Yan’s house! They went on a date yesterday! Yun Qi: And Chacha is in heat!!
Bo Hang’s head spun. Her hands shook as she typed: “Holy crap, did they actually do it?”
Yun Qi emphasized: “We don’t know, and we don’t spread rumors! We’re just swooning, okay? Remember, keep it a secret!”
