What to Do If the White Moonlight Omega Falls in Love with Me - Chapter 36
Cha Yuxuan reflected on that moment at the supermarket checkout. Her silhouette and clothes hadn’t changed at all; Yun Qi only needed to make the slightest connection to the Yan Qingran standing right there to confirm her identity. Yet, she had spent the whole time awkwardly hiding behind Yan Qingran’s back.
She looked up at the ceiling, feeling a wave of embarrassment. This was truly cringeworthy.
After a few moments of silence, Cha Yuxuan sent a reply to Yun Qi: “Mm, thanks.” After sending the message, she placed her phone on the nightstand and headed back out.
Yan Qingran worked quickly. By the time Cha Yuxuan entered the kitchen, the final dish was being plated. There were fragrant, sweet, and crispy pork ribs, evenly sliced shredded potatoes, and hand-shredded cabbage with a light, savory char. Both the presentation and the aroma suggested the meal would be delicious.
Yan Qingran turned off the range hood and washed her hands. “Time was tight, so I could only make a few simple dishes.”
Cha Yuxuan gave her a big thumbs up and a sweet smile. “It’s more than enough. Thanks for the hard work!”
She then glanced at the apron Yan Qingran was wearing. “Turn around, let me help you take that off.”
Once the apron was removed, Yan Qingran balanced a plate in each hand. “I’ll carry the dishes; you just bring the bowls and chopsticks.”
“Okay!”
As soon as the meal was set on the table, Cha Yuxuan picked up her chopsticks, unable to wait any longer. “I’m going to start eating now!”
Yan Qingran gave her a doting smile. “Go ahead. There’s no need to be polite with me.”
Cha Yuxuan pulled the plate of sweet and sour pork ribs closer to her side. “Then I’m claiming all of these.”
Yan Qingran placed a piece of cabbage in her own bowl. “That’s fine, but you still need to eat some vegetables. Don’t force yourself if you can’t finish it all.”
“Mm…” Cha Yuxuan took a small bite of a rib. After swallowing, she let out a satisfied sigh. “These are so good. It’s a real shame you can’t enjoy them, Senior.”
Yan Qingran only smiled and continued with her vegetarian feast. Compared to heavy meat dishes, she preferred vegetables.
While nibbling on a rib, Cha Yuxuan asked curiously, “Senior, why don’t you like sweet things anyway?”
“Well,” Yan Qingran thought about it for a moment, “when I was little, my grandfather told me that eating sugar causes diseases and ruins your teeth. So, I basically stopped eating it. Over time, it reached a point where even a little bit of sugar feels uncomfortable—it’s actually hard to swallow.”
Cha Yuxuan nodded. “I see. You were such a good child. I loved sweets when I was little. I ended up with a cavity, and my dad dragged me to the dentist. He gave me a stern lecture and confiscated all my candy. After that, I had to secretly save my money just to buy different flavors of sweets.”
She reminisced with a sigh. “Back then, milk candy was my absolute favorite. It was so delicious I’d accidentally chew through a whole bag in a day. Eventually, my dad found out and my allowance was cut off.”
As she shared her story, she couldn’t help but feel that while she still loved sweets, she was much more restrained now than she used to be.
Yan Qingran looked thoughtful. No wonder her pheromones smelled like milk candy; she had been immersed in that scent since childhood. The scent was indeed delicious. Yan Qingran secretly licked her canine tooth.
Cha Yuxuan shifted the topic. “But my pheromones are sweet…” After saying this, she rested her chin on her hand and gazed at Yan Qingran.
Yan Qingran let out a soft sigh. “There will always be unexpected surprises in life.”
Cha Yuxuan nodded and countered with a question, “So, how much of a surprise am I?”
Yan Qingran didn’t hesitate. “An accident significant enough to change the future.”
