Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 62
“Mmm.” Wen Wen kissed the back of her hand in affirmation. “I won’t.”
“You two,” Jiang Miao’s voice sounded from behind them. “Do you have to be this lovey-dovey so early in the morning? Could you at least be mindful of the surroundings?”
Jiang Chi glanced up slightly at her, then deliberately leaned down to kiss Wen Wen’s lips once, then again her eyes brimming with provocation.
Jiang Miao raised an eyebrow slightly before tossing out a single word, “Childish,” and walking away.
“Am I childish?” Jiang Chi asked Wen Wen seriously.
Wen Wen patted her head. “You’re about the same.”
Jiang Chi let out a dissatisfied whine and pounced into her arms, immediately activating her tickling technique.
“Alright, alright,” Wen Wen laughed, retreating. “You’re mature, you’re my mature little puppy.”
Jiang Chi obediently stopped her assault, but before Wen Wen could even catch her breath, her lips were sealed again.
After a long, tender good morning kiss, Jiang Chi nuzzled her forehead against Wen Wen’s and murmured, “Sister, let’s make our relationship public after the show ends, okay?”
Wen Wen’s gaze was still slightly dazed. “So soon?”
Jiang Chi found her bewildered expression utterly adorable. Wen Wen, always so sharp and composed, was rarely seen in such a dazed state. She kissed the tip of her nose. “Soon? I wanted to announce to the whole world that you’re my girlfriend the day I confessed.”
She had only held back until the show finished filming out of consideration for its impact.
Burying her face against Wen Wen’s chest again, her warm breath brushed against her collarbone as she mumbled, “Don’t you want to go public with me? Do you want to keep this a secret?”
“No,” Wen Wen replied. Her desire to announce their relationship was no less than Jiang Chi’s. She just hadn’t expected Jiang Chi to bring it up so soon. After a slight shake of her head, she cupped Jiang Chi’s chin, lifting her face, and kissed the corner of her lips. “If you want to go public, we will.”
“Great!” Her voice was unmistakably cheerful. “Tomorrow, after the CP selection, the show wraps up! We’ll announce it tomorrow night.”
“Okay.”
The moment Jiang Chi stepped out of the tent, someone called her name. Turning around, she saw Bai Yuetong running toward her. “Jiang Jiang.”
Jiang Chi stopped. “What’s up?”
Bai Yuetong looked a little embarrassed as she lowered her voice. “Jiang Jiang, you know our team was last place yesterday. We spent all our earnings on the tent and barely ate anything last night. I’m really hungry now… So, could you…”
“Did you forget? Our team’s funds are shared among the three of us too.” Before Jiang Chi could respond, a voice interrupted from behind them. Jiang Miao quickly walked up to Jiang Chi, glanced at Bai Yuetong, and shoved a bag of bread and milk into her hands. “This is your breakfast. What you do with it is your choice.”
She took a couple of steps toward the tent before suddenly turning back as if remembering something. “Just this once, though. We’re out of funds too.”
Bai Yuetong stared at her retreating figure for a moment before turning back to Jiang Chi. Their eyes met briefly before Bai Yuetong’s gaze dropped to the breakfast in her hands. She pressed her lips together just as her stomach let out two loud, unmistakable growls.
“I’m actually not very hungry. You should have the breakfast. I’ll head out first.”
Jiang Chi glanced at the breakfast in his hand, took two steps forward to block her path, and shoved it into her hands. “Here, you take it. I ate a lot last night, so I’m not hungry either.”
Bai Yuetong was both surprised and delighted. “Really? Thank you, Jiang Jiang. You’re so kind.”
Jiang Chi: “No need to thank me.”
Consider it repayment for Bai Yuetong finding her in the ravine earlier.
Bai Yuetong took the breakfast back to her tent. Su Jing, who had observed everything, couldn’t help but ask, “Didn’t you want to ruin her reputation? What you’re doing now is practically giving her positive publicity.”
Jiang Chi’s reputation on the show had already been improving, and Bai Yuetong’s actions were only boosting her popularity further.
Bai Yuetong gave him a faint sidelong glance and explained, “Isn’t there a saying? The higher you climb, the harder you fall.”
For now, Jiang Chi could bask in her glory and enjoy the praise.
She would personally drag her down from that pedestal hard.
“Besides, I just overheard today’s mission details. Without breakfast…” She weighed the food in her hand. “It’s going to be a tough day.”
Su Jing stared at the cold, calculating expression on her face, his brow twitching involuntarily. It dawned on him belatedly, he had never truly known Bai Yuetong at all.
In another tent, the moment Jiang Chi stepped inside, Jiang Miao scanned her from head to toe like a scanner, then smirked knowingly at Wen Wen. “Told you she’d give the breakfast to that White Lotus.”
Wen Wen arched a brow slightly.
Jiang Chi stepped forward, wrapping an arm around her waist. “Sis, I just wanted to thank her.”
Jiang Miao snorted. “Thank her for what? For stealing your freeloader ex? Or for not completely disgusting you to death?”
“Did you swallow poison this morning?” Jiang Chi shot her a look before ignoring her. “Sis, I just wanted to thank her for finding me in the ravine that day. In a way, she saved my life. Sis, don’t you think so? If it weren’t for her, I might not even be standing here safe and sound.”
“Think what?” Jiang Miao didn’t bother hiding her disdain. “She told you that, and you just believed her?”
“No, my mom told me. She said Bai Yuetong was the one who informed her.”
Jiang Miao took a deep breath to steady herself. “The truth is, Wen Wen was the one who found you that day. Before the production team even arrived, she called in her private jet, escorted you all the way to the hospital, and only contacted your family after confirming you were stable.”
The truth hit Jiang Chi like a sudden blow, leaving her stunned for a few seconds. Slowly, her gaze shifted to Wen Wen’s face. After another hesitant pause, she asked, “Is that true?”
“How could it not be? I was with Wen Wen when we searched for you. She was so frantic she nearly slipped and rolled down that steep hillside. If I hadn’t grabbed her, she wouldn’t be standing here unharmed today.”
As if remembering something, Jiang Miao muttered under her breath, “If we’re talking about saviors, I’m the one who saved both of you.”
Jiang Miao stood up, walked over, and patted Jiang Chi’s shoulder. “You might not be able to let go of what Bai Yuetong did, but it takes two to tango. You were wrong, but she’s no innocent either. When it comes to seducing other people’s men, she’s already a repeat offender.”
“Trust me, she’s no pushover. Lying to your face, acting all affectionate with you, who knows what she’s scheming? Just be careful. Don’t let yourself be used as a pawn without even realizing it. Don’t let past regrets blind you.”
Her gaze swept over the two of them before she left the tent.
After a long silence, Jiang Chi finally spoke. “Jiejie, you…”
She wanted to ask why, after going so far, Wen Wen hadn’t waited for her to wake up in the hospital, why she hadn’t visited even once during that time, when even Bai Yuetong had come once to see her.
But before the words left her mouth, she suddenly understood why Wen Wen had chosen not to see her back then.
Given the state they were both in at the time… Even though Wen Wen had been so angry with her, she hadn’t abandoned her.
The words on her tongue abruptly shifted into a completely different, affirmative statement. “Jiejie, you really love me.”
“Mn, I love you.”
Jiang Chi pulled her into a tight embrace. “I love you too.”
Jiang Miao had said their group’s funds were exhausted, but that was just an excuse to stop Jiang Chi from giving breakfast to Bai Yuetong. When the two of them stepped out of the tent, she handed Jiang Chi a freshly bought breakfast.
Jiang Chi accepted it, tucking it against her chest, and said sincerely, “Thank you.”
“Don’t thank me.” Jiang Miao shot a glance at Wen Wen, her lips curling into a cold smile. “But if you dare make Wen Wen suffer, I won’t hesitate to make you pay.”
Jiang Chi smirked. “Don’t worry about that. It’ll never happen.”
After finishing the final day of filming in the mountains, the guests were taken to a large villa that evening.
Director Xu announced, “Tomorrow morning, we’ll wrap up the show’s finale recording here. Details will be shared then. For now, enjoy a wonderful evening, good night!”
The rooms had already been assigned by the production team. Jiang Chi and Wen Wen shared one, Ji Mei and Bai Yuetong another, the two male guests took one, and Jiang Miao, as the new guest, was given the privilege of a single room.
Before heading to her room with her luggage, Jiang Miao fixed Jiang Chi with a meaningful look and clicked her tongue twice, sounding almost wistful. “Thank the production team. Bless them. Finally, I won’t have to endure someone’s mental torment.”
Jiang Chi glanced at her and, unusually, didn’t retort. Instead, she said with genuine sincerity, “Congratulations.”
Jiang Miao: “…”
She entered her room and shut the door.
Jiang Chi raised a brow. “Jiejie, I think I’ve figured out how to handle your friend.”
Wen Wen shook her head with a low laugh, her expression fond and exasperated.
Once back in their room, the first thing Jiang Chi did was cover the camera.
Wen Wen was about to open her suitcase to take out her pajamas and get ready to wash up when a warm body pressed against her back. Hot breath trailed up her neck toward her lips.
Her neck was her most sensitive spot Jiang Chi’s move was a direct strike at her weak point. Her toes curled, trembling slightly, her body already too weak to stand on its own, forcing her to lean fully into Jiang Chi’s embrace.
“Big sister, do you want to take a bath? Let me help you, okay?”
“Okay.”
The bathroom was filled with steam as Wen Wen tightly gripped Jiang Chi’s hair. “Enough, stop.”
Her voice was soft, as if she was both coquettish and pleading.
Yet despite the pleading tone, for some reason, it didn’t make Jiang Chi stop instead, it seemed to excite her even more.
They moved from the bathroom to the bed, continuing well into the late hours of the night.
Exhausted, Wen Wen lay limply in Jiang Chi’s arms and weakly asked, “Are you back to normal now?”
Jiang Chi pressed a soothing kiss to her forehead, her voice laced with amusement. “Big sister, you’re too delicious. Staying normal around you would be the real abnormality.”
“I love you. Sleep now, goodnight.”
She kissed her forehead again.
Wen Wen merely tapped Jiang Chi’s chin twice with her fingertips before closing her eyes and drifting into a deep slumber.
Jiang Chi left goodnight kisses on the corners of her lips, her cheeks, the tip of her nose, her eyelids, and finally her forehead once more before closing her own eyes.
The next morning after breakfast, the production team handed each guest a card and a pen, directing them to separate locations. A broadcast announcement followed:
“Next, please write down the name of the guest you’d like to pair up with as your CP. Once you’ve finished, submit your card to the staff and gather in the living room. We’ll announce the results immediately.”
Jiang Chi sat on a garden chair, uncapping the pen without hesitation to write Wen Wen’s name but the familiar, uncontrollable force surged through her limbs again, guiding her hand to write Su Jing’s name instead.
When they gathered in the living room, she found herself standing beside Su Jing against her will.
Jiang Miao and Wen Wen entered together from outside. Jiang Miao raised an eyebrow at the sight before glancing at Wen Wen beside her.
Wen Wen remained expressionless, walking straight to Jiang Chi, taking her hand, and pulling her aside to stand with her.
Jiang Chi wanted to say something, but Director Xu’s voice interrupted.
“We’ll now announce the results of your choices. After this, you’re free to go home. For the successfully matched CPs, we’ll contact you later to confirm schedules.”
Out of the seven guests, only Jiang Chi and Su Jing had chosen each other.
The entire room was stunned except for Su Jing, who wore a look of “I knew it.”
Wen Wen’s calm expression finally cracked. She lifted her gaze, her eyes complex as she looked at Jiang Chi. As the production team called out “Ending,” Wen Wen turned and left immediately.
Jiang Miao nudged the dazed woman still standing in place. “What are you spacing out for? Go after her!”
By the time Jiang Chi reached the parking lot, the car carrying Wen Wen was already driving away.
Jiang Chi quickly got into another car and followed her all the way to Wen Wen’s home.
Wen Wen had already gone inside, but the door was left open, left for Jiang Chi.
Stepping in, Jiang Chi saw Wen Wen turn from the couch. Backlit by the floor-to-ceiling windows, her expression was unreadable, but her voice was colder than ever.
“Jiang Chi, don’t you think… you owe me an explanation?”
“I’ll explain! I’ll explain everything!” Jiang Chi rushed over and knelt before her. On the way here, she had decided, no matter if Wen Wen thought she was crazy, she would tell her everything.
But just then, the uncontrollable force erupted inside her once more.
The next second, she shook off Wen Wen’s hand and stood up, saying coldly, “There’s nothing to explain. Let’s break up.”
It was completely out of control now, even though she was right beside Wen Wen.
