Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 60.1
Wen Wen pushed open the door and stepped inside, her gaze sweeping across the office. Not spotting anyone, she took out her phone, about to message Jiang Chi, when a pair of arms suddenly wrapped around her waist. A weight settled on her shoulder, warm breath brushing against her ear: “Looking for me, sis?”
“No, just checking the time.”
“Oh? I never said you were planning to message me,” Jiang Chi teased, peeking at her phone screen, which clearly displayed a chat window labeled “Jiang Chi.” Narrowing her eyes at the two-character note, she added, “Sis, don’t you think this needs an update?”
Wen Wen calmly pocketed her phone, removing the arms around her waist as she walked toward the desk. “I have work to do. Entertain yourself.”
Jiang Chi watched her retreating figure, her gaze leisurely drifting to Wen Wen’s earlobes, now flushed pink like snow. Unconsciously, her tongue flicked against her canine teeth.
True to her word, Wen Wen sat down and began reviewing documents. Calls came in one after another, and her assistant and secretary frequently entered and exited the office.
Jiang Chi lounged on the sofa in the guest area, deliberately sitting far enough from Wen Wen over a meter away to test whether the plot’s control had truly lifted.
She messaged Da Yu: [What’s he doing now?]
Da Yu replied quickly: [They came to the set for auditions this morning and are now having lunch at a high-end private restaurant.]
The auditions were merely a formality, part of the drama Jiang Chi had promised to tailor for them.
The male and female leads were dining together…
Yet she remained here, perfectly at ease…
Jiang Chi carefully assessed herself, sensing no changes. In the past, she would’ve been compelled to rush to their side.
But now nothing happened.
The mysterious force that had once surrounded her had vanished since last night.
It seemed she had truly broken free from the plot’s control!
She was free!
Overjoyed, Jiang Chi bounced slightly on the sofa. Though dark clouds loomed outside the window, she felt bathed in warm, golden sunlight.
Noticing a certain gaze fixed on her, she turned only to see Wen Wen still engrossed in her work, head bowed.
Puzzled, Jiang Chi looked away, though a smile soon crept onto her lips. Her fingers flew across the phone screen: [You don’t need to monitor him anymore, Da Yu. You’re free.]
Da Yu: [!!! Jiang Jiang, are you firing me? Noooooo!]
Jiang Chi: [??? Just stop tracking him. Take breaks when there’s no work your salary stays the same.]
Da Yu immediately sent a flood of heart emojis: [Love you, Jiang Jiang! Mwah mwah mwah!]
A final “on standby” sticker followed.
That gaze returned. Jiang Chi glanced up, but the figure behind the desk remained focused on work.
Sprawling across the sofa, Jiang Chi relaxed, staring blissfully at the ceiling.
Her emotions were indescribable though she hadn’t endured much, it felt like surviving a catastrophe.
Her phone buzzed again Da Yu had sent a schedule.
The main content was about entering Director Xu Li’s film crew in about half a month, along with some scattered commercial shoots scheduled in between.
If There Were No Sun
She glanced at the movie title, then at the other female lead who was currently bent over her desk working.
Acting alongside Wen Wen, it was impossible not to feel nervous. Wen Wen was widely recognized in the entertainment industry as a young yet highly skilled actress, winning prestigious awards right from her debut. Her trophy cabinet already boasted the most coveted accolades.
In contrast, Jiang Chi herself was still most famous for the notorious “simp” incident.
She remembered how she had initially entered the industry with dreams of becoming an actress like Wen Wen someone who could truly experience every kind of life. The entertainment company under the Jiang Group had even been established by her parents specifically to pave the way for this dream of hers.
But then she met Su Jing.
One could only say fate played tricks on people.
Fortunately, now everything was coming together, all moving in a positive direction.
What had been lost in her past life would surely be cherished properly in this one.
Her phone vibrated twice in quick succession, an email and a message from Da Yu.
[The email contains the digital version of the script. Should I print a hardcopy and mail it to you, or will you print it yourself later?]
Jiang Chi: [I’ll handle it myself.]
That gaze again. This time, Jiang Chi abruptly turned her head, but Wen Wen still wasn’t looking at her, appearing fully engrossed in her work, not even lifting her head.
She scanned the surroundings there was definitely someone staring at her repeatedly… Could it be a camera?
Nothing there…
Dismissing it, she opened the email, skimmed through the plot summary, and then read some of the details.
Her eyes widened the more she read.
This script had quite a few explicitly intimate scenes!
Could this really be filmed?
With Wen Wen on set.
Jiang Chi shook her head, dispelling the half-formed images in her mind.
The gaze fixed on her intensified again. She turned around but still found nothing.
Putting her phone away, Jiang Chi quietly circled around and stood behind Wen Wen.
She stood there silently for about ten minutes. Finally, the woman in front of her lifted her head, her gaze landing squarely on the spot where Jiang Chi had been sitting on the sofa earlier. Seemingly puzzled by the absence, Wen Wen turned her head slightly, her brows twitching as if frowning.
Noticing Wen Wen was about to stand up and look for her, Jiang Chi leaned in, cupped her neck, and tilted her head back to rest against her shoulder. She kissed the spot behind Wen Wen’s ear and murmured lazily, “Caught you my distracted, peeking girlfriend.”
The body in her arms stiffened momentarily but soon relaxed.
“What’s wrong?” Jiang Chi belatedly realized Wen Wen had been off since the moment she walked in. Though her tone was teasing, her question was earnest. “Logically speaking, since I’m your girlfriend, sweetheart, you can look at me as openly as you want. You could even press your eyes right up against my face if you wanted to.”
“So why peek?”
Her lips brushed the corner of Wen Wen’s mouth.
“Are you scared, jiejie? Afraid I’ll leave after having my fill?”
She remembered the tone Wen Wen had used last night when saying this though framed as a joke, it now seemed Wen Wen had genuinely been afraid.
The office was silent for a long moment before Wen Wen slowly turned her head, cupping the face so close to hers, and kissed Jiang Chi’s lips with an almost reverent tenderness.
“I’m not afraid. I told you once we’re together, I won’t give you a chance to run away.”
“It’s just, it feels unreal. Ever since last night, it’s felt unreal.”
Like living in a dream.
Twelve years of unrequited love, believing for so long that they could never be together, only for that very person to suddenly confess and say they wanted to be with her. Anyone in her place would probably think it could only happen in a dream.
From morning till now, Wen Wen had been lost in this feeling. During the meeting, she had been unusually distracted, reminded twice, and several times she had nearly rushed out of the conference room just to check if Jiang Chi was really in her office.
To confirm whether it was a dream or reality.
But when she returned, Jiang Chi was right there in front of her, and yet she still wondered if everything before her was just an unbroken dream.
Not only that, but she also felt an inexplicable sense of something lost and regained even though she had never possessed it in the first place.
“Unreal?” Jiang Chi gazed into those eyes filled with nothing but her own reflection, feeling as though her heart might melt at any moment. “You think us being together is unreal?”
“Mhm.” Wen Wen wrapped her arms around Jiang Chi’s neck, nuzzling her forehead against her throat, and whispered, “Jiang Chi.”
“I’m here.”
“Jiang Chi.”
“I’m here.”
Just as Wen Wen was about to speak again, her chin was tilted up, and soon after, a pair of cool lips pressed against hers.
Unlike the usual urgent, domineering kisses, this time Jiang Chi took her time, teasing her lips with slow, deliberate movements. Her tongue occasionally flicked out, lightly licking or nipping, bringing faint stings of pleasure as if to tell her that everything happening right now was undeniably real.
After who knew how long, their lips parted. Wen Wen’s eyes shimmered with dazed moisture as she stared straight at the woman before her. Jiang Chi smirked faintly and asked, “Still think it’s unreal, jiejie?”
“If you still think it’s unreal…” Jiang Chi leisurely guided Wen Wen’s head to rest against the back of the executive chair while she herself slid down toward the desk. “Then let’s do something even more exciting.”
By the time Wen Wen realized what she intended, Jiang Chi was already between her legs. Instinctively, Wen Wen clenched her thighs and shook her head slightly. “We can’t.”
“Jiejie, if you really didn’t want this, you wouldn’t be locking me in place like this.” Jiang Chi’s hands trailed up the thighs wrapped around her shoulders and neck, slipping beneath the hem of the skirt.
Wen Wen was wearing a playful yet professional short skirt suit today, one Jiang Chi had picked out for her. She had expected Wen Wen to refuse, but to her surprise, the other woman had accepted it happily.
Jiang Chi admitted that when choosing the outfit, she had considered this very scenario. After seeing the desk in the office, she knew she had made the right choice.
Convenient in every sense of the word.
Wen Wen shuddered violently, biting her lip. “Aren’t you afraid someone might walk in?”
“Whether someone comes in or not is entirely up to you, isn’t it?” Jiang Chi looked up at her. “And even if they do, whether they notice anything depends entirely on how well you behave, doesn’t it?”
Just as she finished speaking, the office door was knocked.
“President Wen.”
