Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 58
From the moment Wen Wen saw Jiang Chi, her first thought was that she must be hallucinating. She had drunk a little alcohol tonight, but her tolerance was good far from being drunk. It wasn’t until Jiang Chi threw herself at her, warm breath tickling her skin, that she felt it was real.
“Sister, a second without you feels like three years.”
Wen Wen staggered back a step from Jiang Chi’s sudden embrace before steadying herself and holding her firmly.
Jiang Chi lifted her head. “I thought I’d have to wait all night again, and even then, I might not see you until morning.”
Her dark, clear eyes were bright, her tone equally pitiful.
Wen Wen reached out and poked her soft cheek teasingly. “Weren’t you supposed to go back to watch dramas with Grandma and play games with Grandpa?”
“That was all just an excuse,” Jiang Chi admitted shamelessly, planting a kiss on her face.
“Just to buy a bouquet of flowers?” Wen Wen’s gaze drifted leisurely to the large bundle of blue roses Jiang Chi was holding.
“Yeah, I had to run to several shops to find them.” Jiang Chi handed the flowers to Wen Wen as if presenting a treasure. “For you. Sister, don’t you love blue roses the most?”
Wen Wen didn’t take them. “I don’t think I’ve ever told you I like blue roses.”
Jiang Chi froze for a moment, then silently withdrew her outstretched hand. “I noticed… your home, your office, even your car all have blue rose motifs, so I thought…”
Before she could finish, the roses were taken from her hands. Wen Wen curved her lips slightly. “Thank you for the flowers. I love them no, I adore them.”
Then she leaned in and kissed her on the chin.
Jiang Chi was stunned for two seconds. The reversal had come too abruptly. Her mind was still stuck on how to lure Wen Wen out so she could ask Jiang Miao to clean up the decorations inside.
When she finally processed what had happened, she blinked, her expression turning aggrieved. “Sister, you always trick me. I’m not talking to you anymore.”
She turned and walked to the door, squatting down and curling into an unconsolable ball.
Wen Wen walked over, cupped her chin, and lifted it, scratching lightly underneath. “How many times is this now, squatting at my door? Do you really think you’re a Guardian Puppy?”
The Guardian Puppy snorted and turned her head away.
Wen Wen: “An angry Guardian Puppy.”
Jiang Chi blinked twice, pretending not to hear.
Wen Wen set the flowers aside, forcefully turned her head back, and pressed her lips against Jiang Chi’s slightly cold ones.
Jiang Chi blinked dazedly a couple of times before quickly reacting. She slid down the wall to sit on the floor, spreading her legs, one hand gripping the back of Wen Wen’s head and the other clasping her waist, pulling her firmly into her embrace.
The position was domineering and possessive, locking Wen Wen entirely in her arms.
When the oxygen in her mouth ran out, Wen Wen struggled to pull back, only to realize she was completely trapped, barely able to move. She let out a few muffled whimpers, as if pleading for mercy.
Jiang Chi released her, pressing their foreheads together, breathing slightly ragged. “Sister, your kissing skills need work. Seems like we’ll have to practice a lot more in the future.”
Wen Wen, weak and boneless, was practically draped over her. She lazily lifted her eyelids, her gaze scrutinizing. “Then you… your skills are so good. Who have you been practicing with?”
Jiang Chi didn’t hesitate in the slightest, shamelessly boasting, “I didn’t learn from anyone maybe I’m just naturally gifted.” Then, as if remembering something, she added, “Sister, you took my first kiss. You have to take responsibility for that no backing out! You have to be responsible for me for life!”
As she spoke, she nuzzled her head against Wen Wen’s neck.
Wen Wen hesitated for a couple of seconds. “If what you say is true, then you really are naturally gifted.”
“Exactly.” Jiang Chi’s hand slid to the small of her back, tracing slow, teasing circles. “So if you learn from me, Sister, you’ll improve quickly too.”
“Oh?” Wen Wen leaned in slightly, bringing her lips close to Jiang Chi’s ear before lightly nibbling her earlobe. “Then should I call you… Professor Jiang?”
A jolt of electricity shot from her earlobe through her entire body. Jiang Chi trembled slightly, knowing full well Wen Wen was doing this on purpose. She tilted her head, eyeing the slender, pale neck exposed before her, and gave it a light lick. “Sister really is such a good student.”
Just as expected, the body pressed against hers shivered in response.
“Sister, you’re so sensitive.”
Jiang Chi lifted her head, leaning in to kiss her again, but Wen Wen covered her mouth. Propping herself up, Wen Wen met her gaze. “Planning to spend the whole night in this hallway?”
The words snapped Jiang Chi back to reality. Suddenly remembering the surprise she had prepared at home, she tilted her head and smiled. “No. Planning to spend it with you in the room.”
Supporting Wen Wen by the waist, she stood up, then bent down to pick up the blue roses Wen Wen had set on the floor.
“Open the door, Sister.”
Wen Wen eyed her suspiciously.
Jiang Chi’s beautiful face, tinged with a faint blush, scrunched up slightly. “What? At this point, Sister isn’t going to send me away, is she?”
“Not sending you away is fine. But what identity will you use to stay at my place?”
Even now, she still hadn’t heard the words she wanted to hear.
Jiang Chi blinked. “If I can’t stay, can I at least get a glass of water? I’m a little thirsty right now.”
Wen Wen’s eyes dimmed with disappointment, but she said nothing, turning to open the door.
The moment the door cracked open, a rich, intoxicating fragrance washed over her, the scent she knew best: blue roses.
Puzzled, she glanced back at Jiang Chi standing behind her, who blinked innocently. “What’s wrong?”
Assuming the smell came from the blue roses in Jiang Chi’s hands, Wen Wen pushed the door open and stepped into the entryway, feeling for the light switch. The moment the lights flickered on, Wen Wen’s pupils slowly dilated.
It was as if she had fallen into an ocean of blue. The entire living room, usually minimalist and understated, was completely covered in blue roses.
The blue blossoms were arranged into small patterns, adorning every corner of the home. Along the hallway from the entryway to the living room, flowers spelled out the words, “Will you be my girlfriend?” Wen Wen stepped through the gaps between the letters, and directly opposite her, the glass floor-to-ceiling windows were decorated with five large characters: “I love you, Wen Wen.” The other walls, tables, and coffee tables were all adorned with the same phrase: “Wen Wen, will you be my girlfriend?”
Drunk on the floral perfume, Wen Wen turned to look at Jiang Chi, who had been following her the whole time.
Jiang Chi smiled, stepping forward to stand before her, and once again offered the roses in her hands.
“A confession starts with a bouquet, and a relationship begins with a ceremony.”
“Wen Wen, will you be my girlfriend?”
This was the sentence she most wanted to hear from Jiang Chi tonight. She had already been planning, if Jiang Chi didn’t say it, then she would.
Unexpectedly, the surprise Jiang Chi had prepared wasn’t just that bouquet of blue roses, but an entire room filled with romance.
Wen Wen didn’t immediately answer her question. Instead, she asked, “How did you get in?”
“Jiang Miao.” Jiang Chi didn’t hesitate to betray her strategic ally, even adding a little “slander” for good measure. “Sis, I think Jiang Miao isn’t someone you should get too close to. When I asked her for your door code, she gave it to me without a second thought. If she told someone with ulterior motives, how dangerous would that be? Don’t you think?”
Wen Wen couldn’t help but smile at her serious expression. “And the one with ulterior motives, is that you?”
“Yes.” Jiang Chi smoothly steered the conversation back on track. “I do have ulterior motives toward you. I want you to only look at me, to have only me in your world, to feel like you can’t breathe without me. Thinking about it, I really am terrible. Sis, do you still like me like this?”
Wen Wen still didn’t answer her question. “Did you do all this yourself?”
Jiang Chi held up her hand, adorned with band-aids, putting on a pitiful act. “Yeah. Except for the delivery, I handpicked every single rose and arranged them all myself. Even got pricked by the thorns, it really hurt.”
She pretended to blow on her hand, then lifted her eyes to look at Wen Wen. “Sis, so… will you be my girlfriend? I’ll only put in even more effort for you in the future. Forget rose thorns, I’d go through fire and water without hesitation!”
Wen Wen still didn’t answer her question. After a long silence, she asked with utmost seriousness, “Jiang Chi, have you really searched your heart? Are you sure you like me?”
Without hesitation, Jiang Chi nodded solemnly. “If you’re asking whether I like you, sis, there’s no doubt, I definitely do. But if you’re asking how long I’ll like you, I really can’t answer that. Some things can only be answered with time.”
“What do you think, sis?”
Wen Wen shook her head. “Earlier, you said you wanted me to only look at you, to have only you in my world, to feel like I can’t breathe without you. If I told you I feel the same way and that my feelings don’t need time to answer, that I can answer right now?”
“If you really decide to be with me, from the moment we’re together, I’ll never let go. If you ever try to leave, I’ll make sure you know, you won’t have the chance.”
No chance to regret, no chance to shake her off, no chance to escape, no chance to start a new life.
She would bind Jiang Chi to her side, completely and utterly.
Jiang Chi took a step forward, leaning in until her breath brushed Wen Wen’s face. “Sis, it seems we really are a perfect match.”
“Answer my question, sis. Will you be my girlfriend?”
Including the floral arrangement spelling out the same question, Jiang Chi had essentially asked over ten times and Wen Wen hadn’t answered once.
Wen Wen still avoided the question. “So many blue roses… Do you know what blue roses symbolize?”
Jiang Chi nodded. After learning that Wen Wen liked blue roses, she had curiously looked them up: “Their meaning is ‘miracles and impossible things.'”
“Mm.” Wen Wen looked at her own reflection in Jiang Chi’s eyes. “Now a miracle has happened. The impossible has become possible.”
Jiang Chi was about to ask what the miracle was, what impossible thing had become possible for Wen Wen but before she could speak, warm, soft lips pressed against hers.
Wen Wen kissed her lightly, just gentle pecks, as if handling the most precious treasure in the world.
Jiang Chi wrapped her arms around Wen Wen’s waist, ready to take the lead, but Wen Wen pushed back and pulled away.
“I need to shower first. I feel really uncomfortable.”
She should have showered earlier, it was her habit after every social engagement. The first thing she always did was shower.
To wash away all the scents she’d picked up outside.
Jiang Chi pulled her back by the waist, her voice barely a whisper: “Let’s shower together, girlfriend.”
