Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 57
“So, do you like women?”
It wasn’t until this moment that Jiang Chi realized what Wen Wen was implying.
I don’t like men.
But I really like someone like you.
Not liking men = liking women.
Liking someone like me = liking me.
Jiang Chi pieced together the logic in her mind and came to a conclusion: “So, sister, you like me?”
She felt her reasoning was flawless, but her voice still carried a hint of uncertainty.
“Huh?” Wen Wen feigned confusion. “I said I like someone like you. If you want to introduce me to a girlfriend, you can use yourself as a reference.”
Brain freeze one second, two seconds, three seconds!
Jiang Chi wrapped her arms around Wen Wen’s waist. “But you even asked me if I like women! That’s basically the same as asking if I like you, isn’t it?”
Wen Wen was about to think, “How did this blockhead suddenly become so sharp?” when Jiang Chi bombarded her with words: “I don’t care! I like you, sister. I really, really like you. Can you like me too? Don’t like Su Jing, don’t like any other women just me, only me!”
Jiang Chi lifted her head from Wen Wen’s embrace, blinking her big, pitiful eyes. “Okay? Please, sister!”
Two key points, one of them. Wen Wen raised an eyebrow slightly. “Who told you I like Su Jing?”
Jiang Chi nestled back into her shoulder, rubbing her forehead against Wen Wen’s neck. “Who else? You announced it to the whole world yourself.”
Her tone was a mix of grievance and accusation.
Wen Wen understood. She reached up and pinched Jiang Chi’s earlobe, feeling the slight tremble that ran through the girl’s body before speaking slowly, “Based on those photos and videos with misleading angles?”
Jiang Chi tightened her grip around Wen Wen’s waist. “But you never clarified it.”
“I did clarify.” Wen Wen let her hold on. “I did clarify.”
She repeated the same sentence twice.
Jiang Chi frowned and looked up. “No, you didn’t. I checked.”
During her hospital stay, she had deliberately gone through all those photos and videos. The more she saw, the colder her heart grew. Even if it was just angles, it shouldn’t have been possible so many clips and pictures, all perfectly capturing Wen Wen’s gaze fixed on Su Jing.
At the time, she had even checked Wen Wen’s personal Weibo, her studio’s Weibo, and even the official Weibo of the Wen family not a single word of clarification.
Wen Wen flicked her forehead lightly. “When you were looking at those videos and photos, didn’t you notice a certain fool appearing in every single one?”
“Fool?” Jiang Chi was puzzled. “Which fool?”
She carefully recalled the images and realized that in every frame, her own figure was present!
Her brain worked at lightning speed, and Jiang Chi immediately grasped the hidden meaning in Wen Wen’s words. “Sister! So you were looking at me! You had unrequited love for me! You like me!”
Three exclamations of delight burst out. Jiang Chi’s dark, bright eyes were filled with nothing but Wen Wen’s reflection.
“If that’s the case…” She suddenly remembered something else and presented more evidence. “Every time you saw me going to Su Jing, you got angry. You weren’t jealous of Su Jing, you were jealous of me! Right?”
Wen Wen stared at her for a moment before shaking her head. “No, I don’t like fools.”
Jiang Chi, seeing her obviously teasing expression, deliberately misinterpreted her words with confidence. “Right, you like fools!”
“Admit it, won’t you?” Jiang Chi hugged her body and swayed, like a child begging for candy. “Come on, sister, admit it.”
“You’re already so certain. Does it even matter whether I admit it or not?”
Jiang Chi: “Yes, it does. Hearing you say it out loud would make me happier.”
“Fine, then let me make you a little happier.” Wen Wen raised her hands to cup Jiang Chi’s face. “I like you, Jiang Chi.”
A short yet solemn sentence. The moment the words left her lips, Jiang Chi eagerly leaned in, sealing her mouth, her soft tongue boldly parting Wen Wen’s lips.
Jiang Chi kissed her deeply, their tongues entwined with fervor, as if she wanted to devour her whole.
Only when Wen Wen pushed weakly at her shoulders did Jiang Chi finally pull back, though her lips lingered, trailing slowly to Wen Wen’s ear. Warm breath brushed against her skin as Jiang Chi whispered, “I like you too, Wen Wen.”
A shiver ran down Wen Wen’s spine, this was the first time Jiang Chi had ever called her by name. Just two syllables, effortlessly slipping from her lips, as if whispering sweet nothings.
And indeed, they were sweet nothings.
The very words Wen Wen had always longed to hear from Jiang Chi, the most beautiful love confession in the world.
Already weak-kneed from the kiss, Wen Wen tightened her arms around Jiang Chi’s neck to steady herself.
“Can we leave now?”
Though dizzy with happiness, Jiang Chi hadn’t forgotten they had slipped away from a banquet. She had been dragged there to unwind, but she had no idea why Wen Wen had attended.
Wen Wen shook her head. “Not yet. I still have matters to discuss.”
This wasn’t unexpected for Jiang Chi. These high-society banquets were nothing more than networking events where everyone had an agenda, navigating a sea of interests.
“Then I’ll have to head back first. There’s no reason for me to stay here.” Jiang Chi reached up to pinch Wen Wen’s earlobe. “Let me know when you get home safely.”
Wen Wen gazed at her without responding.
Jiang Chi brushed her lips against Wen Wen’s nose and grinned. “What? Can’t bear to let me go?”
“It’s not that.” Wen Wen lifted a hand, her warm fingertips tracing Jiang Chi’s lips. “I just don’t want someone to run off after getting what they want.”
Wen Wen thought her hint was obvious enough.
“I do have to run.” Jiang Chi caught her restless hand. “If I stay, it’ll be harder to refuse if they pester me again.”
She had already turned down the host’s son once in front of everyone. Doing it again would be a direct slap in the face.
“Besides,” Jiang Chi continued, “the elders at home are all waiting for me. My grandpa and grandpa keep calling me back to play games with them they can’t stand each other but insist on playing together.”
“And my grandma and grandma want me to watch dramas with them, but they never agree on the main characters.”
Jiang Chi leaned in, pressing a kiss to those mesmerizing eyes. “How could I run? I’d love nothing more than for you to cling to me, to stay together forever.”
She kissed the corner of Wen Wen’s lips again. “I’m the one who’s worried. All those wolves at the banquet, eyeing you like prey. Can’t whatever you need to discuss wait for another time?”
Not hearing the words she wanted to hear, Wen Wen stared at her for a moment before pushing her away with a detached tone: “In that case, you should go back. I’ll return after finishing my discussion.”
With that, she headed toward the banquet hall. Jiang Chi walked alongside her: “I’ll go back too need to say goodbye to my mom.”
Before parting at the banquet hall entrance, Jiang Chi reminded her: “Remember to let me know when you get home safely.”
Wen Wen gave a slight nod.
After bidding farewell to Liu Ci, Jiang Chi prepared to leave the banquet. Just as she was about to exit, Su Jing blocked her path.
“About that agreement from the other night, I have an answer,” Su Jing cut straight to the point. “Care to talk somewhere for a few minutes?”
Jiang Chi glanced at him and nodded slightly, following him to the side. Unnoticed by her, Wen Wen watched their retreating figures from a distance.
They found an empty balcony. Jiang Chi stepped out, the evening breeze carrying the first hints of autumn brushing against her face.
The banquet was held on the 30th floor of the city’s tallest downtown skyscraper. Standing on the balcony overlooking the city’s nightscape, Jiang Chi felt a serene exhilaration.
Tonight’s events had been utterly unexpected yet delightfully surprising.
The most beautiful thing in the world was when the person you liked happened to like you back.
Even Su Jing didn’t seem as irritating to look at now.
Rather than facing the night view, Su Jing leaned against the balcony railing, observing the bustling banquet hall as he took a sip from his glass. Turning to the woman beside him, he remarked: “You look happy.”
Jiang Chi didn’t answer his question nor glance his way, getting straight to the point: “What’s your answer?”
Su Jing similarly avoided answering directly: “Do you really not like me anymore?”
Jiang Chi responded without hesitation: “Yes, I really don’t like you.”
Su Jing chuckled to himself as if recalling something: “Are you with her now?”
Jiang Chi frowned: “That’s none of your business. If this is what you want to discuss, I’ll take my leave.”
“I’m with Yuetong now.”
Jiang Chi froze mid-step, clenching her hands. No wonder that strange energy had disappeared earlier.
Had she guessed correctly?
Was the true way to break free from the plot’s control really for the male and female leads to get together?
She turned back to him: “When did you two get together?”
When exactly?
Those days right after he’d pulled Bai Yuetong out of the mistress scandal?
He couldn’t quite remember the specific date.
Su Jing shrugged as if discussing someone else’s affair: “Just now. I messaged her, she agreed, and I came to tell you immediately.”
“Actually, I asked you those questions because I’ve thought it through carefully. Between you and Yueyue… the one I’ve always liked is you. Yueyue feels more like a younger sister to me, the kind who grew up sharing hardships and supporting each other. I can’t just abandon her.”
“But since you want me to be with her, I assume you have your reasons. So I’ve decided to grant your wish. If we’re truly not meant to be, at least one of us should find happiness, right?”
“Moreover, I’ve always known that Yuetong has feelings for me. Perhaps she would be happy if we were together.”
His words painted him as some self-sacrificing hero. Jiang Chi stared at him for a moment before simply saying, “Treat Yuetong well.”
Su Jing swirled the wine glass in his hand, watching her departure with an inexplicable but strong premonition.
A premonition that Jiang Chi would definitely come back to him.
What he’d said earlier wasn’t entirely false, he had indeed pondered between Jiang Chi and Bai Yuetong, and his preference for Jiang Chi was obvious.
He didn’t know what Jiang Chi was planning, but he was willing to follow her lead.
She would return.
She definitely would.
His intuition had always been accurate.
Noticing someone’s gaze fixed on him, he looked up and saw Wen Wen watching him with an inscrutable expression through the crowd.
He curved his lips slightly and raised his glass in her direction.
Things were progressing more smoothly than expected. After bidding farewell to the host, Wen Wen also left the party early.
With a ding, the elevator doors opened, and the person waiting outside turned to look her dark, bright eyes shimmering like sunlight, reflecting Jiang Chi’s figure within them.
Jiang Chi rushed toward her, a bouquet of blue roses in hand.
