Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 38
“Sister? So this is how you want to play?”
Jiang Chi spread her arms to wrap around Wen Wen’s waist. Without waiting for a response, she lowered her head to capture the third button of the shirt between her lips. With a flick of her tongue, the button slipped free from its hole.
Wen Wen looked down at Jiang Chi’s increasingly dazed expression, then gripped her chin firmly and uttered two icy words: “Not allowed.”
Jiang Chi narrowed her eyes, pinched Wen Wen’s waist, then moved her hand to pry away the fingers holding her chin. She lowered her head to bite the delicate collarbone.
Wen Wen shuddered slightly, but before she could protest, Jiang Chi looked up with innocent dark eyes: “Oops, sister, I left a mark here.”
“Are you a dog or something?”
Jiang Chi nuzzled against Wen Wen’s chest, savoring the softness, then flicked her tongue lightly against the restrained skin before blinking up: “I’m sister’s little puppy.”
Breath hitching, Wen Wen pushed her away: “Get up.”
Jiang Chi obediently stood.
Wen Wen walked to the mirror to examine the bite mark positioned perfectly where the top button would conceal it and raised a brow: “Did you do that on purpose?”
“Hmm?” Jiang Chi feigned innocence, “What does sister mean?”
She approached to admire the rosy imprint, lips curling slightly: “Sister, since there’s a mark, shouldn’t you button up properly? Otherwise people might get ideas.”
“Forget it. I’ll leave it like this.” Wen Wen deliberately left the third button undone, even pulling the collar wider.
Now, the alluring view beneath the shirt was visible from any angle.
Through the mirror, Wen Wen watched the figure behind her eyes locked hungrily and began a mental countdown.
Three, two…
Before “one” formed, hands reached around to fasten each button firmly. “No, you have to button up,” Jiang Chi pouted, “It’s inappropriate to go out with bite marks showing.”
“Oh? Inappropriate?” Wen Wen teased, “As if I bit myself?”
Jiang Chi’s fingers paused at the top button. After securing it, she rested her chin on Wen Wen’s shoulder, whining: “Sister started it first…”
Their gazes met in the mirror. Jiang Chi’s eyes trailed downward from the mesmerizing peach-blossom eyes to the beauty mark at the corner, across the enchanting face, finally settling on that fastened top button.
The white shirt accentuated Wen Wen’s cool, untouchable elegance, radiating restrained allure. Yet all Jiang Chi wanted was to undo each button one by one…
Her hands moved unconsciously to encircle that slender waist.
Just then, a voice called outside the tent: “Teachers Jiang and Wen, are you ready? The livestream is starting soon.”
Jiang Chi snapped back to reality, releasing Wen Wen awkwardly while clearing her throat: “Sister, let’s go.”
The rising sun cast golden beams through the forest canopy, light and shadow intertwining like an ethereal dreamscape.
[Wen Wen my wife, I’m here!]
[Jiangjiang! My destined wife!]
[Guess the internet has no memory, Jiang Chi actually has this many brainless fans now?]
[“The one calling others brain-dead is the real brain-dead! Our Jiang Jiang was just a bit spoiled and misjudged one scumbag before! It’s not like she committed any heinous crimes!”]
[“Bullying our Yue Yue at every turn isn’t heinous? What kind of person does that?”]
As expected, the barrage area was in complete chaos, with each fanbase defending their own idol, none willing to back down. Just then, a highlighted golden subtitle suddenly appeared right in the center of the barrage area.
[“Stop fighting! Everyone look at Wen Wen and Jiang Chi!”]
[“Holy shit, what happened to their lips?!”]
[“If I dare to imagine, I can totally picture these two going at it last night! They went so hard they broke skin! (knocks wooden fish)”]
[“Why couldn’t they livestream at night!!!”]
[“Even if we take a step back, couldn’t they have done it during the day? (blushing yellow face)”]
When Jiang Chi and Wen Wen arrived at the gathering area, the other guests were already present.
Wen Wen walked ahead and chose the most peripheral seat available.
From the moment Wen Wen appeared, Ji Mei’s gaze hadn’t left her. Seeing her sit down, Ji Mei swiftly took the seat beside her with lightning speed, then provocatively raised an eyebrow at Jiang Chi who was a step behind.
Jiang Chi narrowed her eyes slightly, calculating the probability of Wen Wen indulging her. After hesitating for a few seconds, she still walked up to Wen Wen, crouched down, and looked at her pitifully.
Really like a little puppy.
Wen Wen’s lips curved slightly as she extended a hand in front of Jiang Chi, who obediently placed her own hand on top.
Wen Wen stood up, leading Jiang Chi to a pair of empty seats nearby and sat down together, never once glancing at Ji Mei the entire time.
Triumphant, Jiang Chi stuck out her tongue at the fuming Ji Mei.
Witnessing their interaction, Su Jing and Bai Yuetong exchanged a knowing glance without speaking.
[“Jiang Chi: Watch closely, I’ll only demonstrate this once, what it means to act recklessly knowing you’re favored! She even dragged Wen Wen’s chair closer to herself ahhhh!”]
[“Hot take! So smooth! Jiang Chi you little, no wonder you have a wife ahhh!”]
[“Hahaha Ji Mei’s face is practically green.”]
[“But like, have they already reached the level where they understand each other with just one look? Have they… thoroughly communicated? (dog head)”]
[“Wen Wen! You’re just spoiling her!”]
[“Tell me, who could resist such an adorable puppy~”]
Director Xu arrived with her signature megaphone, exchanged a few pleasantries with the guests, then got to the point: “Standard procedure before today’s mission, we’ll first determine today’s CP pairings.”
“As the saying goes, heartbeat is the most powerful proof of attraction. Our program team collected videos showcasing each guest’s most charming moments, voted on by netizens. So today’s CP pairings will be determined by your most direct heartbeats.”
Today’s CP formation game.
Heartbeat Challenge.
The guests would take turns wearing heart rate monitors while watching videos of the other five guests. If two people’s heart rates spike highest when watching each other’s videos, they automatically form a CP.
If multiple people’s heart rates spike highest for one person, that person becomes the “Heart Arsonist,” rewarded with 100 yuan cash and the right to choose their partner.
Director Xu: “Does everyone understand the rules?”
The group indicated their understanding.
“In that case,” Director Xu said with a smile, “here’s an extra money-making opportunity for everyone. You can each choose who you think is the ‘heart arsonist’ of the group. If you guess correctly, there’s a fifty-yuan reward.”
The guests exchanged glances.
Ji Mei was the first to speak: “It must be Sister Wen!”
Jin Jin Yi glanced at her, his eyes darkening momentarily before he said, “I also think it’s Sister Wen.”
Bai Yuetong added, “Teacher Wen gets my vote.”
Su Jing’s gaze landed squarely on Jiang Chi, full of expectation: “In my heart, the ‘heart arsonist’ is Jiang Jiang.”
Jiang Chi didn’t spare him a single glance from start to finish, her bright eyes fixed on Wen Wen instead: “Sister, do you know why I’m called Jiang Chi?”
“Oh?” Wen Wen was genuinely curious about what explanation Jiang Chi would offer. “Why?”
“Jiang, because of the surging river waters that can extinguish the fires you, the ‘heart arsonist,’ keep lighting all over me, allowing me to survive. And Chi, which also means fire, is so I can exist in every state you’re in, coexisting with you!”
Silence fell over the room.
Soon, Ji Mei’s laughter broke the quiet: “This is hilarious. What era are we in, still spouting these cheesy pick-up lines? Isn’t it awkward?”
Jin Jin Yi remarked, “It feels a bit chuunibyou, but kinda cute.”
This earned him a sharp glare from Ji Mei.
Su Jing’s tone was unreadable: “Jiang Jiang, do your parents approve of this interpretation?”
This woman had previously claimed her name matched his in every way, yet now she was so easily redefining it because of someone else’s existence?
Jiang Chi was dismantling what rightfully belonged to him, piece by piece, and patching it onto another woman. The feeling was… indescribably strange.
Even a little nauseating…
This woman, Jiang Chi, had crossed his bottom line more than once.
Just then, Bai Yuetong spoke up leisurely: “‘You let me survive, and I exist to coexist with you’, I think that’s a very romantic interpretation.”
Jiang Chi snapped her fingers at Bai Yuetong, her eyes brimming with delight: “You get it!”
[I also wanna ask, Jiang Jiang, do your parents approve of this name explanation? LOL]
[I agree with Jin Jinyi, it’s a bit chuunibyou, haha!]
[This isn’t chuunibyou; it’s a cheesy confession!]
[God knows I feel the same way as Bai Yuetong!]
[Me too, but… help, it gives off major tragic separation vibes.]
Jiang Chi’s fiery gaze settled on Wen Wen as she declared solemnly: “So, Sister! It’s you! In my heart, you’re the undisputed ‘heart arsonist’!”
Wen Wen was amused by her expression, the corners of her eyes lifting slightly. Her beautiful peach-blossom eyes were filled with nothing but Jiang Chi as she replied earnestly, “Me too. In my heart, there’s only ever been one person who’s the most charming and that’s you.”
Ji Mei’s expression was a mix of disbelief and frustration. She had assumed Wen Wen’s first choice would undoubtedly be Su Jing after all, the two had even spoken privately the night before.
Now it seemed Jin Jin Yi had been right.
Wen Wen’s heart truly belonged to Jiang Chi.
If it could be Jiang Chi, then why couldn’t it be her?
Hearing Wen Wen’s answer, Jiang Chi froze for a full three seconds.
Huh?
Had her wish just come true?
Or perhaps it wasn’t exactly a wish come true Wen Wen’s answer had surprised her. She’d been praying silently that Wen Wen wouldn’t choose that scoundrel Su Jing, but she never dared hope Wen Wen would choose her instead!
Yet Wen Wen had chosen her!
Jiang Chi immediately called out to Director Xu, “Director, doesn’t this count as mutual selection? Let’s skip watching those videos, alright?”
Director Xu: “……”
“No can do. This round is all about heart-pounding excitement, not just sweet talk and mutual consent~”
“Alright then, who’s going first?” Director Xu held up a heart rate monitor.
Su Jing raised his hand. “I’ll go.”
After strapping on the monitor, a staff member handed Su Jing a tablet and a pair of earphones, instructing, “Just swipe down after finishing each video.”
Su Jing nodded in understanding.
All the guests fixed their eyes on the heart rate display. When Su Jing reached his third video, the numbers on the screen skyrocketed to an unprecedented high his heart rate shot up to 180 bpm, and a faint smile played at the corners of his lips.
As he swiped to the next video, his pupils visibly dilated slightly. His heart rate stalled for a few seconds before suddenly spiking to 190 bpm.
The final video, however, he watched with complete calm.
The staff retrieved the tablet and removed the monitor.
Director Xu grinned. “One last chance to guess which guest caused the highest heart rate spike. We’ll reveal the answer at the end. Correct guesses earn a 10-yuan cash prize.”
Ji Mei hesitated for a moment before saying slowly, “Bai Yuetong.”
Jin Jin Yi: “Bai Yuetong.”
When it was Wen Wen’s turn, she answered without hesitation, “Jiang Chi.”
Jiang Chi was startled by her choice but quickly recovered. “This might sound a little conceited, but I think it’s me too.”
Earlier, aside from watching the heart rate display, she had also observed Su Jing’s expressions. The first spike in heart rate clearly resembled the slow, fluttering acceleration one feels when seeing someone they like.
As for the second spike, Jiang Chi guessed that as her ex, Su Jing was already familiar with many sides of her. Yet he had seemed genuinely surprised by the video perhaps because it showed a side of her vastly different from her usual style.
“Alright,” Director Xu said. “Who’s next?”
Jiang Chi raised her hand. “I’ll go.”
