Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 33.1
“Teacher Wen, I think we need to talk.”
As soon as the words were spoken, before Wen Wen could react, Jiang Chi instinctively grabbed her arm and refused, “No, what could you possibly have to talk about?”
What did Su Jing want to say to Wen Wen? To tell her about their breakup? How confident was this man that Wen Wen liked him? Everyone said Wen Wen had feelings for him surely he knew something, right? Was he planning to send signals now?
Or did he actually know nothing and just wanted to sweet-talk Wen Wen into liking him?
After all, in every aspect, Wen Wen was undoubtedly the best replacement for her.
No, wait from what she remembered, Su Jing wasn’t the type to sweet-talk at all. But then again, plenty of people acted one way in front of others and another behind their backs. Maybe this bastard just couldn’t be bothered to sweet-talk her, or perhaps he never had the chance, since she had always been the one chasing him before.
Countless thoughts raced through her mind, but Jiang Chi landed on the most crucial point: they couldn’t just have a private conversation whenever they wanted. The moment Wen Wen stepped more than 1.5 meters away from her, she might immediately get up and cling to them like a third wheel.
Just imagining that scene was mortifying…
No matter what, Wen Wen couldn’t leave her side!
Thinking this, she tightened her grip on Wen Wen’s arm.
“Big sister doesn’t want to chat either! Go back and eat your meat.”
Like a bristling little dog, she glared at Su Jing as if facing a formidable enemy.
Unexpectedly, Wen Wen patted her hand, signaling for her to let go.
“I’ll go talk to him. You’ve had a long day, eat well and get your strength back.”
Don’t go. Can’t you just stay?
Jiang Chi wanted to say that, but before she could find a reason to voice it, Wen Wen had already stood up and left with Su Jing.
She watched her retreating figure, lips parting slightly, but no words came out.
This was such a rare opportunity, one Wen Wen must have been waiting for forever. Being called aside for a private talk by the person she liked, how happy must she be right now?
The distance had already exceeded 1.5 meters. Damn it, why wasn’t the plot control kicking in now?
Realizing what she was thinking, Jiang Chi couldn’t help but let out a bitter smile.
Normally, the mere sensation of being controlled would send chills down her spine. And now she actually wanted it to happen?
Jiang Chi, you’ve truly lost your mind.
But she really wanted to follow them. What if Wen Wen really ended up with Su Jing? Would she have to endure a third-wheel situation every day from then on? When facing Su Jing in front of Wen Wen, she could still maintain some control, but what about in front of Bai Yuetong?
Eventually, she would break free from the control. Once she finished courting death, everything would be liberated.
Everything.
Wen Wen and Su Jing had already disappeared from sight.
Still, nothing happened.
But maybe this was for the best. If she barged in and ruined the moment now, Wen Wen would probably hate her forever.
Wen Wen followed Su Jing to a secluded corner away from the cameras.
The forest at night was eerily quiet, save for the occasional gust of wind rustling through the treetops, producing an unsettling howl as if something unspeakable lurked in the darkness, waiting to devour them whole.
The two stood facing each other, the dim glow from the overhead lights strung between the trees casting faint illumination.
Silence stretched between them, the howling wind growing louder.
Su Jing broke the silence first: “Miss Wen, do you know why I asked to meet you?”
“Can you hear me when I speak?”
“What do you mean?” Su Jing was puzzled.
“Do I need to speak louder? Or should you clean your ears first?”
If Su Jing still couldn’t tell that Wen Wen was mocking him for being long-winded, then he wasn’t just old, he’d have to add dementia to the list.
“Miss Wen, are you always this sharp-tongued?”
Wen Wen gave a slight shrug. “Depends on the person.”
“You!” Su Jing took a deep breath and cut to the chase. “You like Jiang Chi, don’t you?”
Wen Wen narrowed her eyes and countered, “Do you always meddle in other people’s business like this?”
“Other people?” Su Jing smirked smugly for a moment before straightening his expression. “That’s not just ‘other people’s business.’ You might not know this since we never made it public, but I am Jiang Chi’s legitimate, rightful boyfriend.”
“Ignorance is no excuse. It’s fine if you didn’t know before, but now that you do, I hope you’ll maintain an appropriate, proper, and reasonable distance from my girlfriend, Jiang Chi.”
“Legitimate, rightful.” Wen Wen savored the words, then suddenly burst into laughter, a laugh dripping with mockery. “From what I know, you two have already broken up.”
Not a question, but a firm statement.
Su Jing’s face darkened instantly, blending into the night. His voice was practically squeezed through gritted teeth. “How do you know that? Did Jiang Chi tell you?”
Had Jiang Chi gone around telling people she dumped him?
Wen Wen merely shrugged slightly, not answering the question.
Su Jing pressed on. “What’s your relationship? Why would she tell you these things? What else did she say?”
Wen Wen fixed her gaze on him. “You should know that Chi Chi has a childhood friend, right? Didn’t she mention several times that she wanted to introduce you to them?”
“You!” Su Jing’s face was full of disbelief. “That childhood friend is you?”
“Mhm. So, actually, I know everything about you two.” Wen Wen shrugged again. “Chi Chi always said she wanted to introduce you to me, but what she didn’t know was that the day after no, wait, two hours after, she told me she was dating you, I’d already figured you out inside and out.”
“Do I need to spell out what your intentions were in getting close to Chi Chi?”
Su Jing: “So, all this time, your hostility toward me wasn’t because of what they said unrequited love turning into hatred. You targeted me because you like Jiang Chi?”
“Obviously,” Wen Wen said coolly. “I kept making excuses not to meet you with Chi Chi because, frankly, I’ve always looked down on you.”
Su Jing clenched his fists. “Do you feel even the slightest bit of guilt toward me?”
Wen Wen let out a cold laugh. “Guilt? Whether the things I exposed were true or false, I think you know best.”
“Speaking of guilt, let me ask you, have you ever felt guilty toward Chi Chi?”
“You used her, climbed up using the resources she gave you, and then belittled her character. Did you ever feel guilty about that?”
“A selfish, arrogant man like you, of course not.”
“I’ve met all kinds of people, but someone like you living under a woman’s protection while biting the hand that feeds you, you’re the first shameless bastard I’ve ever seen.”
Su Jing’s temples bulged with veins. Since childhood, due to his impoverished background, everyone had looked down on him, mocking and ridiculing him. He swore to achieve success, to show all those who had once despised him that he, Su Jing, would stand at a height they could never reach even if they stacked themselves together.
He thought that getting into a prestigious university would bring him the honor he desired. Starting his entrepreneurial venture in his sophomore year, reality remained unkind constant setbacks, repeated disdain, having documents thrown in his face, yet still forced to smile through it all.
Until he met Jiang Chi.
When Jiang Chi pursued him, he had thoroughly investigated her background. Jiang Chi was the only daughter and sole heir of the Jiang Group, a conglomerate powerful enough to make the capital tremble with just a flick of her fingers. This discovery thrilled him beyond measure, yet also left him tangled in anxiety and distress.
Because at the time, he was in an ambiguous stage with the person he truly liked Bai Yuetong. The two of them were just a thin layer of paper away from confessing their feelings.
After nearly a year of wavering, he ultimately abandoned Bai Yuetong and accepted Jiang Chi’s pursuit.
As he had anticipated, after getting together with Jiang Chi, everything began moving in a positive direction. Though Jiang Chi was willful, she obeyed him in everything. If he wanted something, even the stars in the sky, Jiang Chi would surely pluck them for him.
But as honors piled up, so did his pride. The more accolades he gained, the more they reminded him that all his achievements were obtained through a woman.
He believed that as long as he never mentioned it, no one would know. After all, Jiang Chi was so easy to control everything was firmly within his grasp.
As long as he kept silent, he would eventually rise to a position where no one dared to speak against him.
But then, Wen Wen effortlessly tore away the fig leaf he had almost carved into his flesh, exposing him in all its bloody rawness.
He snarled. He laughed.
Wen Wen waited for his laughter to subside before speaking leisurely, “I only said all this to remind you, stop flaunting your so-called legitimacy everywhere. You, are already a thing of the past.”
“And stop clinging to Jiang Chi like a disgusting, parasitic maggot. Without her blindly protecting you, I can’t guarantee what I might do.”
“From the sound of it, Miss Wen, you’ve been harboring unrequited love for Jiang Chi for a long time, haven’t you? You grew up together, how many years has it been? Fifteen? Or ten?”
“After all this time, was it that Miss Wen hid her feelings too well, or did Jiang Chi notice long ago and simply chose to ignore them?”
“If I’m the past, then what? Does Miss Wen think she’s the future?”
