Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 32.2
Su Jing clenched his fists, turned away, and ignored her.
“Are you okay?” Wen Wen steadied Jiang Chi, scanning her up and down.
Jiang Chi clung to her again, resting her chin on Wen Wen’s shoulder. She lifted her gaze to Ji Mei, who now stood behind Wen Wen, her expression taunting but her voice soft and sweet: “Oof, let me hold you, sister. My head feels so dizzy.”
“Who told you to get up so recklessly? Don’t you have any common sense?”
Jiang Chi nuzzled her cheek against Wen Wen’s neck, her eyes still fixed on Ji Mei. “I didn’t want anyone else to take you away from me.”
“The shawl is still tied to me, who could possibly take me from you?”
“So no matter what, you’ll always choose me, right?”
“Don’t change the subject.” Wen Wen straightened her again. “Are you hurt anywhere?”
Jiang Chi hugged her once more, rubbing her head soothingly against Wen Wen’s, docile and tender. “I’m fine, just a little dizzy. Let me hold you for a bit.”
Ji Mei stomped away, visibly frustrated.
Jiang Chi exhaled in relief, sorting through her strange emotions before finally releasing Wen Wen.
Wen Wen: “Are you sure you’re okay? Tell me if you feel unwell.”
Jiang Chi shook her head with a smile. “I’m really fine.”
Before the last traces of twilight faded, the production crew gathered all the guests for a group photo. Then, they led everyone to the campsite where they would spend the night.
The campsite was flat and open, with several large lanterns hanging from towering tree trunks, illuminating the area. Tents of various shapes were set up across the ground.
Director Xu: “Now, let’s tally how much money each team earned today.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Jiang Chi pulled Wen Wen over to Su Jing.
Su Jing froze for a moment, then a hint of smugness flickered across his face, only to freeze again the next second.
Jiang Chi held out her hand to him. “Give me half of the money you earned.”
“Huh?”
“What do you mean, ‘huh’? Half the credit for your earnings is mine, right? Without me, would you have gotten so many customers? So isn’t it only fair that you split the money with me? What, don’t want to?”
“I’ll give it, I never said I wouldn’t.” Su Jing pulled out a thick stack of red bills from his bag, counting as he spoke. “Jiang Jiang, you’re right. Without you today, I definitely wouldn’t have earned this much. You’re always… so sharp-tongued but soft-hearted.”
With that, he handed her a portion of the cash. “Here, take it.”
Jiang Chi couldn’t be bothered to engage with him. She wouldn’t be surprised if this man spouted any more outrageous statements, though she couldn’t entirely blame him after all, she was the one being controlled by the plot, acting erratically. Taking the money, she turned and left.
Returning to her original spot, Jiang Chi held out all the money she’d gathered to Wen Wen, looking particularly obedient.
Wen Wen patted her head, then glanced at Su Jing, who was staring at them, and curled her lips slightly. “So well-behaved.”
After tallying up, the Cooling CP group had earned the most, a full 7,000 yuan. According to the price list provided by the production team that morning, they could indeed buy everything from the stall.
The Golden Season CP group earned the least, only 500 yuan. Ji Mei frowned at Director Xu. “Can we even survive tonight with this little money?”
“Of course,” Director Xu chuckled. “First, the tents for sleeping are divided into several tiers…”
He introduced the oddly shaped tents set up nearby, each tier rented at different prices with varying amenities. The highest-tier tent was the only one of its kind, equipped not just with basic comforts but also a simple bathroom.
Jiang Chi’s gaze wandered among the tents as she rested her chin on Wen Wen’s shoulder. “Which one should we rent, sis?”
Wen Wen tilted her head. “Which one do you want?”
Jiang Chi: “I want the best one…”
Wen Wen: “Alright, then we’ll rent that one.”
“But…” Jiang Chi nuzzled her cheek against Wen Wen’s, hesitating. “That tent costs 5,000 yuan, and the director said the funds can be used for tomorrow’s filming too. I’m worried…”
“Don’t worry. If the funds carry over to tomorrow, it likely means tomorrow’s tasks will also involve earning money. If we run out, we’ll just earn more then.” Wen Wen gently pinched her cheek. “After such a tiring day, resting well tonight is what matters most.”
“Okay!” Jiang Chi beamed. “I’ll listen to you!”
The two rented the highest-tier tent and then went to the stall to buy supplies, though the prices were noticeably steeper than at the foot of the mountain.
After paying, they were left with only 300 yuan.
Once all the guests had made their decisions, Director Xu picked up a megaphone. “You’ve all worked hard today. As a reward, the production team has prepared barbecue for everyone though just the meat. If you want drinks or anything else, you can buy them at the convenience store.”
The bonfire crackled, and the sizzling meat released an aroma tantalizing enough to stir anyone’s appetite.
Su Jing used tongs to pick up a piece of cooked meat. Jiang Chi’s gaze followed, and the next second, her body moved uncontrollably toward him. She shoved Bai Yuetong aside and plopped down next to Su Jing, cooing, “Brother Su, I’m so hungry. Can you feed me a piece first?”
Jiang hi glanced at where she’d been sitting earlier and realized Wen Wen was no longer there!
The moment she’d been controlled, her heart nearly stopped, she thought the safe distance had vanished! After all, she’d been sitting right beside Wen Wen.
Now, Wen Wen was nowhere to be seen!
A flicker of impatience crossed Su Jing’s face. He was starving, and this single piece might not even fill the gaps in his teeth, let alone be shared. Besides, there was more on the grill, this woman was as annoyingly fussy as ever.
He glanced at Bai Yuetong, who was helping herself to some meat on the side. Indeed, Yue Yue was the ideal partner never fussy or dramatic, always putting his needs first.
Unlike the woman in front of him who just sat there waiting to be fed.
He picked up his chopsticks, placed a piece of meat near Jiang Chi’s lips, and said in an extremely gentle voice, “Be careful, it’s hot.”
Just as the meat was about to touch her lips, Jiang Chi suddenly felt the compulsion on her body lift. She looked up just in time to see Wen Wen walking toward her. She immediately stood, but her wrist was caught as Su Jing asked in confusion, “Where are you going? Not eating anymore?”
Jiang Chi: “No need. I’ll handle it myself later.”
She tried to pull her hand free but failed.
Su Jing: “In that case, Jiang Jiang, let’s just say I want to feed you. Have one bite.”
“No.” Jiang Chi glanced at her trapped hand. “Let go.”
Seeing her firmness, Su Jing could only pretend reluctance, hesitating before finally releasing her.
The moment she was free, Jiang Chi immediately whined and snuggled into Wen Wen’s arms, pushing her back toward their original seats.
As soon as they sat down, she saw Bai Yuetong slightly part her lips toward Su Jing, who then smiled and fed her the meat, gently reminding her, “Be careful, it’s hot!”
Bai Yuetong nodded happily in surprise.
Jiang Chi seized the opportunity to complain: “Sister, look at her! She accepts anything from anyone. After all my sincere feelings for him, in the end, I’m treated just like any other woman. I’m so pitiful, wuwuwu.”
“Sister, when you look for a partner, you absolutely, absolutely must not pick someone like this!”
After saying that, she looked up at Wen Wen, only to see her elegantly cutting the grilled meat with scissors. Then, Wen Wen picked up her chopsticks, lifted a piece of meat, and… brought it right to Jiang Chi’s lips!?
“Here, open up. I’ll only feed you.”
Jiang Chi blinked in confusion, frozen.
Wen Wen: “What? Don’t want mine?”
Before the words even finished, Jiang Chi snapped out of it and chomped down on the meat: “I only want Sister to feed me! Whatever Sister gives me is definitely the best!”
Wen Wen showed no reaction to this. When she tilted her head, her gaze happened to land on Su Jing, who was watching her, but she only swept past him indifferently.
Su Jing’s curved smile slowly fell. Direct provocations he could still tolerate, but this kind of dismissive challenge was what angered him the most.
He stood and walked over to Wen Wen. Even in his most furious state, his smile remained flawless as he said, “Teacher Wen, I think we need to have a talk.”
