Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 32.1
Before Jiang Chi pulled the person over, she exchanged a glance with Director Xu, who immediately understood and shut off the live broadcast channel.
Wen Wen hooked the silk sash draped around her waist with a finger, tilting her head slightly to look at the person behind her. “So, what do you plan to use it for?”
Jiang Chi chuckled, nuzzling her cheek before winding the sash around Wen Wen’s wrist. “This, of course.”
Wen Wen remained silent, allowing her to proceed without resistance.
After wrapping the sash around Wen Wen’s wrist three times, Jiang Chi paused before tying it. “Too tight?”
At this, Wen Wen blinked, looking slightly bewildered. “You’re really going to tie me up?”
Her fluttering lashes, dark as crow feathers, seemed to brush against Jiang Chi’s heart, sending its rhythm into a sudden frenzy. For a moment, Jiang Chi simply stared, forgetting to move.
The slanting rays of the setting sun cast their intertwined shadows onto the uneven ground, making their figures appear intimately fused despite the distance between them.
By dusk, tourists who weren’t planning to stay overnight had already descended the mountain, while those heading up were still climbing diligently.
Apart from a few crew members, only the two of them remained.
Noticing Jiang Chi frozen in place, Wen Wen raised an eyebrow, then rose slightly on her toes to lightly bump their noses together. “What are you spacing out for? Hmm? What’s on your mind?”
Her teasing breath fanned across Jiang Chi’s face, and an uncharacteristic blush crept onto her cheeks.
“Seems like you’re thinking about something unspeakable,” Wen Wen drawled, amusement lacing her voice. “Your face is all red.”
“No!” Jiang Chi touched her cheek defensively. “It’s not red. It’s just the sunset.”
Wen Wen leaned closer, locking eyes with her. “Oh, really?”
Jiang Chi stiffly averted her gaze, stubbornly insisting, “Yes.”
Wen Wen followed her line of sight, speaking slowly. “Oh? Then why won’t you look at me?”
“Who says I won’t?” Jiang Chi took a deep breath and forced her widened eyes back to meet Wen Wen’s, those peach-blossom eyes that held nothing but her reflection.
A second later, Jiang Chi ducked her head again, hastily tying the sash. “It’s getting late, we should hurry.”
“Ah!”
A sharp inhale cut her off. Jiang Chi froze, then immediately loosened the knot. “Did I tie it too tight? Did it hurt you?”
When she looked up, Wen Wen’s eyes were brimming with laughter, her expression thoroughly mischievous.
“Jiejie? You tricked me?”
Wen Wen let out a soft laugh, clearing her throat before changing the subject. “So, why did you really want to tie me up?”
Her dark, obsidian-like eyes darting, Jiang Chi quickly conjured an excuse. “So you can pull me along later, of course. If I’m too slow, we’ll get fined, won’t we?”
Wen Wen narrowed her eyes. “Really? That’s all?”
Jiang Chi grinned. “Well, no. I also just want to stay in your sight at all times~”
Wen Wen: “…”
“Then let’s not tie it.”
“Eh? Why?” Jiang Chi blinked pitifully. “Don’t you want to see me, Jiejie? Or are you worried I’ll slow you down?”
Wen Wen pondered thoughtfully, “A bit of both?”
“I’m sorry, sister. I was too selfish, only thinking of myself. I’ll try to climb on my own.” Jiang Chi lowered her eyes, her eyelids drooping like a puppy abandoned by its owner. As she spoke, she secretly glanced up at Wen Wen. Seeing no reaction, she continued muttering,
“I definitely won’t hold you back. Even if I climb slowly, even if it gets so dark I can’t see and I might fall, or even tumble all the way down the mountain, lost without a trace.”
Still, there was no response. Disappointed, Jiang Chi turned to leave.
Wen Wen watched her retreating figure.
If you really wanted to leave, you’d let go of the silk sash you’re holding.
The sash was looped around her wrist. Wen Wen grabbed a section and pulled the departing figure back in front of her. “What, changing tactics now?”
Jiang Chi blinked innocently. “Sister, what are you talking about? I don’t understand.”
“Don’t understand, huh.” Wen Wen released the sash.
Seeing this, Jiang Chi immediately picked it up and stuffed it back into Wen Wen’s hand. When Wen Wen didn’t hold on, Jiang Chi wrapped both hands around hers, forcing her to grip it. Her tone was pitiful. “Does sister only like the cute, silly version of me?”
Wen Wen chuckled softly. It seemed Jiang Chi was truly desperate this time, even using her own nickname to play the victim.
“Did I guess right?” Jiang Chi pressed, seeing her smile.
“You’re passable either way.” With that, Wen Wen swiftly changed the subject. “If you’re going to tie it, do it quickly. We need to hurry up the mountain.”
Jiang Chi’s face lit up, and she immediately fastened it. “Not too tight, is it? Does it pinch? How does it feel?”
Three questions in a row.
Wen Wen stared at her. “Afraid I’ll get hurt?”
“Of course.” Jiang Chi didn’t hesitate. “If I injured sister’s beautiful hands, I’d hate myself.”
“What if I said I’m willing?”
“Still no.” Jiang Chi looked serious. “I can’t bear to.”
“Then would you let me tie you up?”
Jiang Chi felt the conversation was taking an odd turn but couldn’t pinpoint why. She nodded anyway. “Sister can do whatever she wants with me!”
“Good. I hope you remember what you said today.”
Jiang Chi: “Don’t worry, I’d never forget anything I’ve promised you!”
Wen Wen held her gaze for a moment, then picked up the other end of the sash. “Here, let me tie you up.”
“Wait.”
Jiang Chi took the sash from her, stretched it out, and grabbed it at a spot 1.3 meters from Wen Wen’s wrist. She placed it obediently in Wen Wen’s hand and offered her own wrist. “Go ahead.”
At the final stretch before the summit, two paths lay before them. One was an untouched, rugged mountain trail with only protruding rocks as footholds, climbing this would undoubtedly require more effort and time. The other was a well-maintained stone staircase, where visitors could ascend step by step to the peak.
The two wordlessly moved in opposite directions, one toward the rugged path, the other toward the stairs until the sash around their wrists halted their steps.
They turned to look at each other simultaneously, then just as wordlessly walked back toward one another.
Jiang Chi: “Sister, if you want to take this path, we’ll take this path.”
Wen Wen shook her head slightly. “No, we don’t have much time left. Let’s take the quicker and easier route.”
Jiang Chi glanced at the rugged path strewn with jagged rocks, the one Wen Wen had instinctively moved toward, probably eager for the challenge. Suddenly struck by an idea, Jiang Chi leaned close to Wen Wen’s ear and whispered, “Next time we come, we’ll take the path you want. Just the two of us, okay?”
This way, she’d have a reason to see Wen Wen again while also fulfilling Wen Wen’s little wish, a perfect win-win solution.
Wen Wen looked into Jiang Chi’s sparkling dark eyes and couldn’t help but smile. “Okay.”
The final stretch of the mountain path was nearly vertical and incredibly strenuous. After climbing about two-thirds of the way, Jiang Chi was so exhausted she slumped against the railing, panting. She tugged at the scarf draped over her shoulders and, noticing Wen Wen had stopped ahead, called out, “I’m so tired, sis. Let’s rest for a bit.”
Beads of sweat trickled down her face. Just as she was about to wipe them away, something dry and cool pressed against her cheek.
Looking up, she saw Wen Wen standing in front of her, dabbing her face with a handkerchief. “Don’t rub your face so hard. You’re making it red.”
Jiang Chi gasped in horror. “Sis, did I ruin my face? Am I not pretty anymore? If I’m not pretty, will my acting cute not be adorable? And if I’m not adorable, will you ignore me?”
Wen Wen chuckled and lightly pinched her cheek. “Never heard of mountain climbing damaging someone’s brain before.”
Jiang Chi took the opportunity to wrap her arms around Wen Wen’s waist, nuzzling her face against Wen Wen’s stomach. “Who says mountain climbing doesn’t damage brains? I’m so tired my head is buzzing. I think my brain is seriously injured!”
Wen Wen patted the back of her head. “We only have thirty minutes left. Hang in there, we’re almost there.”
Jiang Chi rested her chin on Wen Wen’s stomach, tilting her head up to look at her. Her gaze lingered on Wen Wen’s lips, plump and rosy, like ripe cherries, tempting enough to make one’s mouth water.
Her dry mouth produced saliva, and Jiang Chi swallowed hard.
Wen Wen glanced down, noticing where Jiang Chi was staring. She pressed a finger to Jiang Chi’s lips, her expression thoughtful. “What? Craving candy?”
Jiang Chi blinked rapidly, her face screaming, “Yes, yes, I really, really want some!”
“Instead of thinking about candy, focus on answering my question,” Wen Wen said, leaning closer. “Besides, it’s better not to eat candy while hiking. It’ll just make you thirstier.”
“Hmph!” Jiang Chi pouted like an angry puppy, rubbing her head against Wen Wen in protest. “I don’t care, sis. I have no motivation to keep climbing now.”
In response, all she got was an indifferent pat on the back, as if urging her to get up.
She looked up to see Wen Wen’s calm expression. “Get up.”
Resigned, Jiang Chi stood, only to feel a pair of cool lips brush against her cheek, fleeting as a whisper.
Wen Wen leaned in close to her ear. “Now, do you have the motivation to climb?”
Jiang Chi snapped back to reality, clenched her fists, and nodded vigorously, as if suddenly pumped with adrenaline. “Yes! I feel like I could climb Mount Everest right now!”
With that, she turned and charged up the mountain like a little engine.
Wen Wen chuckled softly and followed.
Finally reaching the mountaintop, the peaks were shrouded in mist, with only the last streaks of orange-red twilight lingering at the horizon. Jiang Chi collapsed onto the ground as if lying in a sea of crimson clouds.
Seeing Wen Wen finally arrive, Ji Mei immediately ran over to greet her, asking with concern, “Sister, why were you so slow? Did anything happen?”
Jiang Chi’s ears twitched, and she scrambled up from the ground. But she rose too quickly, her vision darkened, her balance faltered, and she swayed to the side.
Su Jing was the first to notice her condition and rushed over to catch her. However, contrary to his expectations, Jiang Chi didn’t fall into his arms.
Wen Wen tugged Jiang Chi back with the silk shawl in her hand, pulling her into her own embrace instead. She raised an eyebrow at Su Jing, who had missed his mark.
The provocation was unmistakable.
