Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 27.2
Jiang Chi had been watching Wen Wen’s approach out of the corner of her eye. Only when Wen Wen was within one and a half meters did she finally feel relief!
The distance had shortened by fifty centimeters! At this rate, next time she didn’t dare imagine what would happen next.
The moment she broke free from the script’s control, Jiang Chi didn’t hesitate for a second, she immediately shrugged off the coat draped over her shoulders and tossed it back to Su Jing.
Before Su Jing could react, a figure flashed past him. When he looked up again, Jiang Chi had already thrown herself in front of Wen Wen, pouting pitifully. “Jiejie, I’m cold.”
He glanced at the coat in his hand, gripping it tightly. What the hell is this woman playing at?
“If I ever come up to you on my own and say things I used to say, none of it will be sincere. Whether you believe me or not, I won’t have a choice.”
The words Jiang Chi had spoken the day she broke up with him suddenly flashed through his mind, sending a chill down his spine.
Was she seriously telling him now that the way she had just acted cute and coquettish in front of him wasn’t voluntary?
Impossible.
She must have sensed the condescension in his earlier whisper and was throwing another tantrum to get attention.
Jiang Chi’s reactions always looped back in the most inexplicable ways.
Come to think of it, he had been at fault that day too.
He really ought to make it up to her.
With that thought, he slowly walked up behind Jiang Chi and draped the coat over her shoulders again. “Jiang Jiang, didn’t you hear Teacher Wen say this coat has an owner? You don’t need to worry about me, keep wearing my coat. I’m not cold.”
Jiang Chi didn’t hesitate to yank it off and throw it back at him, her expression icy. “How do you know the owner of this coat isn’t me?”
Then she turned back to Wen Wen, her voice dripping with pitiful sweetness. “Jiejie, I’m cold~”
She tugged at the coat on Wen Wen’s arm, making her intentions blatantly clear.
The atmosphere froze into a standoff.
The assistant director, seated in front of the monitor, whispered to Director Xu, “Director, are we really just letting them face off like this?”
Director Xu stared at the screen, eyes gleaming with excitement. “No rush. Isn’t this exactly the kind of messy drama the audience eats up?”
[What the hell? Did I wake up too early? Starting off with such an intense, soapy showdown right off the bat?]
[Earlier, I even said Jiang Chi was a dog who couldn’t stop eating sh—, that she’d throw herself at Su Jing the moment she saw him. But looking at this… has she changed?]
[Yeah, from the looks of it now, it seems more like Su Jing’s the one chasing her?]
[Hahaha everyone look at Ji Mei, staring unblinkingly at Wen Wen. Someone should stop her, I’m afraid she can’t resist rushing up to snatch the clothes.]
[Ji Mei’s intentions are too obvious, don’t like it]
[If you don’t like it then don’t watch. Our baby Ji Mei isn’t forcing you to look, get lost!]
[Our Yueyue looks so confused watching these people, she really stands out from this scene hahaha]
Bai Yue Tong stood to the side, appearing dazed and confused as she observed everything, but in reality her gaze kept shifting between Jiang Chi and Su Jing, carefully assessing the situation between the two.
This way, she could better plan her next move.
Time seemed to stretch endlessly long, though in reality it only took the span of two glances.
Wen Wen’s eyes swept over Su Jing before landing on Jiang Chi. She then began removing her own jacket and draping it over Jiang Chi: “Body warmth makes it warmer. Wear mine.”
Like dressing a child, she lifted Jiang Chi’s hands into the sleeves, adjusted the collar for her, and zipped up the jacket before saying: “The mountain temperatures drop sharply at dawn. I wanted to stop you earlier to bring a jacket, but you walked too fast.”
These words contained too much explosive information, like a bomb detonating on site with a bang, stunning everyone into silence.
[Oh my god oh my god! What am I hearing! Am I still asleep or dreaming?]
[What does this mean! Jiang Chi and Wen Wen came together! They arrived together? Weren’t they supposed to be sworn enemies?]
[The implications are terrifying! It’s only 6am now! Which means they were together last night too?]
[Wait what? Jiang Chi and Wen Wen are living together??]
[Beating drums left and right, calling all Wen Wen stans to see this. With Wen Wen acting like this, how can you still forbid us from shipping them? You’re making things difficult!]
[Exactly! This isn’t us forcing the ship – the idols themselves are shoving our heads down to make us ship them ahhh!]
Su Jing had clearly considered all possibilities too, and Wen Wen’s words were obviously a declaration of war against him.
He previously thought Wen Wen just had some interest in Jiang Chi, but now it seemed.
Wen Wen wasn’t just interested in Jiang Chi , she might have joined this show specifically for Jiang Chi.
And all those previous incidents.
The more Su Jing thought about it, the more absurd it seemed.
As if by magic, wearing clothes that carried Wen Wen’s body warmth, Jiang Chi felt the bone-chilling cold instantly replaced by warmth, her limbs quickly regaining heat.
She threw herself into Wen Wen’s arms, hugging her waist tightly as if wanting to merge their bodies: “Jiejie, you’re the best.”
But Wen Wen didn’t return the hug, merely patting her back to make her stand up before pulling her aside without another word.
Jiang Chi stood quietly, stealing glances at Wen Wen from the corner of her eye.
Wen Wen’s expression, movements, and behavior showed no abnormalities, yet inexplicably, Jiang Chi could sense Wen Wen’s unhappiness.
She could also tell that she was the reason for Wen Wen’s displeasure.
It must be because she wore Su Jing’s jacket earlier.
But how could she explain…
The tense standoff finally eased as Director Xu raised his megaphone: “Now that everyone’s here, you probably all know today’s mission.”
“I wonder if everyone remembers what we mentioned during the last recording, the rewards from the previous mission will be announced in this session.”
As the words fell, a staff member came forward holding a tray with three envelopes labeled one, two, and three.
Director Xu: “These are the rewards you’ll receive cash, which will be needed for today’s mission.”
Jin Jin Yi: “Are we supposed to use this cash to buy hiking gear?”
“Bingo~” Director Xu snapped his fingers excitedly. “This is the initial hiking fund you’ve earned through your efforts. You can use it to purchase the tools you need.”
“It’s worth reminding everyone that we’ll be spending the night on the mountain tonight. So, during the hike, our guests will need to rely on their own abilities working hard and earning money with their own hands, to buy overnight camping gear from our production team.”
“Of course, our production team offers various tools for earning money. You can purchase them as needed.”
Ji Mei: “In short, it’s all about making money for you guys.”
Director Xu: “Now, now, that’s not entirely fair. Our staff have to carry all the equipment up the mountain too, it’s hard work.”
Su Jing: “What about partners? How are we choosing them this time?”
“Great question.” Director Xu dramatically unfolded a slip of paper as if announcing an imperial decree. “This list is based on the comprehensive performance scores given by the coach for each of you in the last mission. The selection rule is simple, the guest ranked first gets to choose their partner first, and so on.”
Su Jing couldn’t wait: “Who’s first?”
“Before announcing the rankings, let me clarify if, unfortunately, none of you end up with your previous partners, the jointly earned funds will be split equally. Then, you’ll pool resources with your new partner. How you distribute it internally is up to you.”
“Now, congratulations to.” Director Xu deliberately drew out his words, glancing at the guests’ expressions before leisurely continuing, “Wen Wen, for ranking first in the comprehensive performance evaluation! She gets the priority right to choose her partner!”
Jiang Chi thought to himself: We’re doomed.
