Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 20
Jiang Chi had no idea what Wen Wen was up to, but obediently leaned her head closer, her heartbeat gradually quickening. “What is it?”
At the same time, Wen Wen also leaned in, casually whispering four words into her ear: “You were really cool just now.”
After knowing each other for so many years, Wen Wen had seen Jiang Chi in many dashing and impressive states, but none compared to the moment she had confronted Su Jing.
They had once had a huge fight over Su Jing, leading to at least two months of no contact. Their meeting in the parking lot was the first time they had seen each other after the argument, and even then, Wen Wen had vaguely sensed something strange, it felt like Jiang Chi had changed.
But after having someone investigate, nothing unusual turned up, so she dismissed the thought. Yet, this feeling kept resurfacing during their interactions. Until today, she was certain.
Jiang Chi really had changed.
She couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was different. It was a peculiar, almost eerie sensation, the person was the same, their behavior largely unchanged, yet something felt undeniably altered.
And yet, this inexplicable feeling gave her an odd sense of reassurance.
As if it were telling her that everything Jiang Chi was showing her now was genuine, without pretense.
As if it were telling her that this time, perhaps, she could afford to be a little bolder.
Hearing those words, the tips of Jiang Chi’s ears instantly flushed red. She coughed into her fist and tentatively asked, “Cool, huh? So, are you into me now?”
So Wen Wen liked this side of her? Should she try to be cooler more often then? Maybe even make Wen Wen completely fall for her!
You’ve had me hooked for over a decade already, Wen Wen thought to herself, but only teased, “What’s in it for me if I am?”
“Of course there are plenty of benefits!” Jiang Chi immediately perked up, counting them off enthusiastically. “First, I’m gorgeous taking me out would totally impress people. Second, I’m loaded, I can be your personal ATM. And third, you’d get to occupy the top spot in the heart of someone as amazing as me. Hmm, actually, that last one’s the most important.”
She emphasized the last point with a self-satisfied nod.
“But…” What if it’s not as a friend, but as a girlfriend?
The moment the word “but” escaped her lips, Wen Wen caught herself and quickly covered her mouth.
Having loved Jiang Chi for over ten years, her unspoken feelings had snowballed rolling down from a height, speeding up before slowing, the walls around her heart growing thicker and thicker. The direction had always been clear, but breaking through the ice wasn’t so easy.
Seeing Jiang Chi’s puzzled look, Wen Wen lowered her hand, suppressing the ache in her chest. Channeling her acting skills, she adopted a tone of regret. “Too bad none of that interests me.”
Jiang Chi’s face scrunched up. She pressed her cheek against Wen Wen’s smooth collarbone, looking up at her. “Then what do you like, sis? Can’t you tell me?”
“And why would you need to know?”
“If I knew…” Jiang Chi’s gaze drifted to the other side of Wen Wen’s collarbone, her fingers unconsciously tracing its elegant curve. Her voice softened. “Then I could cater to your tastes and win you over.”
Wen Wen grabbed her wandering hand, tilting Jiang Chi’s chin up as she leaned in closer, murmuring, “If we don’t start practicing soon, you really will end up dragging me down.”
Miss Bangs looked up and nearly screamed at the sight. From her angle, Jiang Chi and Wen Wen appeared to be kissing. She grabbed Glasses Girl’s hand beside her, shaking it violently to vent her excitement: “I told you the Jiang-Wen ship is real! Investing in this pairing never disappoints! They’re killing me with sweetness!”
“Did you notice? The indulgence and affection Actress Wen shows Jiang Chi is practically oozing from her eyes to her expression! Plus, Wen Wen always maintains a comfortable distance with others, but she’s practically glued to Jiang Chi every time! Do you get what I mean?”
“They’re actually kissing right here in front of everyone now!”
Glasses Girl adjusted her spectacles while rescuing her nearly dislocated arm. Though she also shipped the pair, she remained more level-headed. Calmly, she said: “Chill. Save your excitement for when they officially announce it. What you’re seeing is just an angle illusion.”
As she tried to free her hand, the grip tightened: “Don’t be so stingy, let me shake your hand a bit.”
Turning away with a light cough, she warned: “Easy there. If you break my hand, you won’t have anything to shake next time.”
“Got it,” Bangs Girl replied sweetly, her gaze returning to the Jiang-Wen pair.
Su Jing had just stepped out from cooling off in the restroom when he witnessed the near face-to-face moment. Though he knew it was just perspective, he nearly charged forward in anger before restraining himself and storming back into the restroom.
Ji Mei had been periodically observing Wen Wen’s movements since the beginning. When she looked up and saw what appeared to be a kiss, she stomped her skateboard forcefully.
Why did Wen Wen, who kept everyone at arm’s length, seem to abandon all principles when it came to Jiang Chi?
Why?
What would it take to capture Wen Wen’s attention!
She slid her skateboard abruptly, pausing mid-motion to stare darkly at the board beneath her feet.
Jiang Chi remained completely unaware that the entire venue’s attention was now fixed on them.
All she knew was hot, unbearably hot!
The distance was too close.
She should immediately straighten up and move away from Wen Wen, yet inexplicably, she hesitated to leave…
Holding her breath only amplified the sensation of Wen Wen’s warm exhales against her face.
That warmth burned straight to her core, spreading through every limb, reigniting that restless impulse within her.
Even worse, Wen Wen’s gaze held nothing but pure innocence while discussing serious matters, how could her thoughts still wander into inappropriate territory?!
Had years of abstinence truly driven her to this state of desperate longing?
Jiang Chi averted her eyes from Wen Wen’s face, only for her gaze to land on those lips clearly defined, elegantly shaped, like an artist’s meticulously crafted masterpiece.
They looked… very kissable.
Her throat moved involuntarily.
Wide-eyed at her own thoughts, Jiang Chi abruptly straightened, creating distance between them.
Just then, a sudden scream pierced the air.
Jiang Chi turned sharply toward the sound to see Ji Mei falling backward while her skateboard shot directly toward… Wen Wen at alarming speed!
Her heart skipped a beat as her body reacted faster than her mind. Jiang Chi wrapped an arm around Wen Wen’s waist, lifting and spinning her just as the skateboard barely grazed past her feet.
Jiang Chi’s gaze was like an ice pick, locking onto the culprit. She set the girl in her arms down, then picked up the skateboard that had bounced back after hitting a nearby table leg. The veins on her arm bulged as she gripped the board tightly, striding straight toward Ji Mei with an expression so cold it seemed she’d just crawled up from the underworld.
Seeing her face, Ji Mei instinctively stumbled backward in fear, nearly tripping over herself. She crossed her arms defensively, panicking, “I—I didn’t mean to!”
But Jiang Chi seemed deaf to any sound as she marched forward without hesitation, raising the skateboard high.
“Ah!”
Two screams erupted the moment the skateboard swung down.
Ji Mei had begged several times, but Jiang Chi showed no mercy. In desperation, she could only clutch her head and shriek in terror.
The other scream came from Bai Yuetong, who stared at Jiang Chi in horror as if she were a vengeful ghost.
The commotion snapped everyone out of their daze, but by then, it was too late to intervene. As the skateboard hurtled toward Ji Mei’s head, the crowd collectively gasped.
At the last second, the board stopped just a centimeter from her skull, the gust of wind it carried whipping up strands of her hair, fluttering wildly as if frantically seeking help for its owner.
Jiang Chi exhaled sharply, staring at the girl whose tears now flowed uncontrollably. “Scared?”
Ji Mei nodded like a frantic woodpecker.
“I was just as scared as you were.” Jiang Chi flung the skateboard aside, its wheels clattering loudly against the floor. She leaned in close to Ji Mei’s ear, her voice low and dangerous. “Don’t you dare scheme against her again. Next time, I won’t just make you feel what I felt, it’ll be much worse.”
Jiang Chi returned to Wen Wen and pulled her into a crushing embrace, as if trying to meld her into her very being.
“You scared me to death. Thank goodness you’re okay.” She buried her face in Wen Wen’s neck, pressing her forehead against the pulse point, feeling the reassuring throb of life beneath her skin.
Before the hug, Wen Wen had thought Jiang Chi seemed perfectly composed. But the moment those arms wrapped around her, she could feel the violent tremors wracking the other girl’s body.
After a brief hesitation, Wen Wen raised a hand to stroke her head gently. “Shh, calm down. I’m fine.”
Because of the incident, filming was temporarily suspended, with Director Xu announcing a half-hour break.
In a secluded corner, Jin Jinyi held Ji Mei, comforting her. “Stop crying. You did it on purpose, didn’t you?”
He had seen everything, the subtle movements she made. On the surface, it looked like the skateboard had slipped out when she stumbled, and she had indeed staggered afterward. But it was all an act.
It was easy to tell the difference between a real fall and a fake one.
In reality, the skateboard had initially been heading towards Jiang Chi. Compared to Jiang Chi, Jin Jinyi actually disliked Wen Wen even more. As the skateboard rolled forward, he prayed for it to change direction. Whether it was due to his sincerity or divine intervention, halfway through its path, the skateboard hit a small stone and actually veered off course, heading straight for Wen Wen.
“I didn’t mean for Wen Wen to get hurt,” Ji Mei sobbed.
“You should be grateful the skateboard changed direction. Otherwise, I think it might have actually smacked you in the head.”
Jin Jinyi still remembered the look in Wen Wen’s eyes chilling, as if he’d been plunged into the depths of hell. But when she saw the skateboard coming for her, her gaze warmed up slightly.
For a moment, he thought he’d imagined it. But now, thinking back, he was certain he hadn’t.
Ji Mei looked incredulous. “Are you saying Wen Wen values Jiang Chi more than her own life?”
Then, as if suddenly realizing something, her eyes widened. “Wait are you saying Wen Wen is a lesbian? And that she’s always been in love with… Jiang Chi?”
In the lounge.
Jiang Chi placed a hand on Wen Wen’s waist, her expression full of concern. “Did I hurt you earlier? I was too frantic and didn’t hold back.”
Wen Wen moved her hand away and chuckled helplessly. “What, do I look like some delicate greenhouse flower that’ll snap at the slightest touch?”
“Aren’t you the flower of the Wen family?” Jiang Chi’s hand returned, gently kneading. “Really, it doesn’t hurt? Your waist is so slender, I’m afraid I might break it if I press too hard.”
A tingling warmth spread from her waist. Suppressing the urge to swat Jiang Chi’s hand away, Wen Wen instead grasped it and guided it lower, leaning in close to whisper in her ear, “If you’re that worried, why don’t I take off all my clothes so you can inspect me properly?”
“And, didn’t you say last time you wanted to test the feel of it? If you undress me yourself, I’ll… let you try.”
Her tone was intoxicating, her breath ghosting over Jiang Chi’s ear.
Wen Wen’s gaze lingered on Jiang Chi’s earlobe, watching as the pale skin gradually flushed pink.
She pulled back slightly, taking in Jiang Chi’s expression equal parts delight and bashfulness.
Hook, line, and sinker.
Sure enough, the next second, Jiang Chi’s arms tightened around her waist. She looked up with bright, eager eyes, her face alight with anticipation. “Sister, really? You’d let me?”
Wen Wen pretended to think for a few seconds before answering slowly, “Answer one question for me. If you do well, I’ll give you the chance.”
Eyes gleaming, Jiang Chi urged, “Ask away!”
“Aside from curiosity, why do you want to touch a girl’s body?” Wen Wen coaxed. “Especially, private areas.”
Jiang Chi answered without hesitation. “Because you’re beautiful, Sister! Your body must be just as beautiful. I have an eye for appreciating beauty!”
Wen Wen: “…”
She pushed Jiang Chi away, her expression blank. “I gave you a chance.”
With that, she turned to leave, the half-hour was nearly up.
Jiang Chi quickly grabbed her wrist, her face crumpling with dismay. “Sister, what was I supposed to say? You know I’m not clever. And this isn’t as simple as you telling me to kiss you!”
Her voice trailed off into a mumble…
Wen Wen arched a brow, catching the key phrase. “You thought I’d let you kiss me?”
Jiang Chi nodded.
“Why do you want to kiss me?”
She shook her head.
Wen Wen took a silent deep breath and patiently asked, “What kind of relationship do you think kissing usually happens between?”
“Kissing on the cheek… friends and family do that too.”
Wen Wen raised her hand to caress her face, her fair and delicate fingers slowly tracing down to her lips. Lifting her gaze to meet her eyes, she pressed further, “Then what about kissing here?”
Kiss on the lips?
Even after three years with Su Jing, having met each other’s parents, the most intimate they’d ever gotten was holding hands or linking arms.
She had tried to kiss Su Jing before, but was always rejected.
Jiang Chi was indeed quite conservative about such matters. She had thought she’d met the perfect gentleman someone who wasn’t in a hurry for physical intimacy and knew how to respect her.
But later, she realized Su Jing simply found her undesirable. He didn’t want to be intimate with her.
As for Wen Wen…
Jiang Chi searched her memories carefully. There had indeed been times when she wanted to kiss Wen Wen, intensely so. But her limited experience told her this might just be her own unmet desires.
Though she wanted to, she wouldn’t have crossed that line.
And so, lifting her gaze, she voiced her thoughts hesitantly, “You wouldn’t make such a request…”
“Is it that I wouldn’t make it,” Wen Wen grasped the hand on her wrist and pulled her close abruptly, “or that you want me to make it?”
With that pull, the distance between them shrank drastically, their noses almost touching. If Jiang Chi just tilted her head slightly, she could kiss those cherry-red, tempting lips.
Her heartbeat pounded like a symphony in her chest. Pressing her lips together, she nuzzled Wen Wen’s nose playfully, her breath soft and lingering as she whispered, “Sister… may I?”
