Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot - Chapter 18.1
“What are you doing?”
Jiang Chi snapped back to reality, quickly pulling the blanket over herself. The confusion on her face instantly turned to shock. “You, why are you back? And how could you just casually pull someone’s blanket off!”
She looked like a puppy whose tail had been stepped on, her face flushed with indignation.
Wen Wen crossed her arms leisurely, completely at ease. “I thought you were asleep and worried you might suffocate, so I came back to pull the blanket down at least enough to uncover your head.”
“If you hadn’t suddenly yanked my blanket off, I would’ve been asleep by now!” Jiang Chi glared at her resentfully.
“Oh?” Wen Wen gave her a once-over. “Are you sure?”
“Of course I’m sure!” Jiang Chi said, getting up and heading toward the bathroom. “Since I’m awake now, I might as well take a shower before sleeping.”
Without waiting for Wen Wen’s response, she swiftly locked the bathroom door behind her.
Wen Wen glanced at the disheveled bed, then at the closed bathroom door, deep in thought. She walked over and knocked. “Are you okay?”
Jiang Chi, who had been pressing her ear against the door while taking deep breaths, jumped in surprise. She quickly backed away, turned on the shower, and called out over the sound of rushing water, “I’m fine! I just got sweaty and suddenly felt like showering. You go ahead with your stuff, don’t worry about me.”
Wen Wen didn’t press further, only saying, “I’m heading to the gym now. If you need anything, you can find me there.”
Jiang Chi: “Got it, go ahead.”
She waited a moment, keeping the shower running, then crept back to the door and pressed her ear against it, straining to hear any movement outside. Only when she heard the bedroom door close did she finally relax.
Looking down at the two prominent peaks on her chest, she sighed in relief. Thank goodness she was wearing a cotton T-shirt today otherwise, things would’ve been really awkward earlier.
After finishing her shower, Jiang Chi cracked the bathroom door open slightly and peeked out, confirming the room was empty before stepping out.
She flopped onto the bed, staring at the white ceiling, Wen Wen’s face surfacing in her mind again.
Even during her shower, Wen Wen had been all she could think about.
She rarely indulged in self-pleasure, since childhood, she could count the number of times on one hand. She tried recalling past experiences mostly out of curiosity about sex, having watched a few related videos, and then.
Back then, her mind had been completely blank.
So why this time was Wen Wen all she could think about?
It was like she’d been poisoned by something called “Wen Wen,” and the more she tried to shake it off, the deeper it seeped into her.
Wen Wen’s every smile, her every movement, even the rare furrow of her brows, all of it became catalysts that only heightened her pleasure.
Why Wen Wen?
Why not Wen Wen?!
Wen Wen was the one who’d lit this fire in the first place. As the saying goes, “It takes the one who tied the bell to untie it.” So wasn’t it only natural for Wen Wen to be the one to put it out?
Exactly!
There was nothing strange about it.
It was completely normal.
As her thoughts wandered, her eyelids grew heavy.
After a long, exhausting day, lying comfortably in bed now, Jiang Chi felt every sleepy cell in her body awaken.
She wasn’t sure how much time had passed when, hovering between sleep and wakefulness, a sharp static noise pierced the air. Director Xu’s voice blared through the speakers:
“All guests, please gather in the living room.”
Jiang Chi struggled to get out of bed, scanning the room until her bleary eyes landed on the blue flower bouquet on the table. Instantly alert, she grabbed her phone and instructed Dayu to send red envelopes to all florists who’d delivered flowers to her today.
Dayu quickly replied: [How much?]
After brief consideration, Jiang Chi responded: [999 – good symbolism.]
Exiting the chat, her gaze caught on the pinned conversation at the top. A spark in her eyes, she opened the camera and photographed the bouquet, photoshopping text onto it: “Blue flowers slightly inferior to the gorgeous Wen.” She then set this image as the chat background with Wen Wen.
Hesitating momentarily, she ultimately didn’t send the picture to Wen Wen.
After freshening up, Jiang Chi headed downstairs. Before even reaching the living room, her searching eyes found no sign of Wen Wen. Pausing mid-step, she turned to go back up to the gym when suddenly her body moved against her will.
Her half-turned body snapped back into position, facing Su Jing’s direction. Like wind beneath her feet, she dashed to his side, sat down, and grabbed his arm, cooing: “Brother Su Jing, tell me everything you did today, please?”
Su Jing didn’t respond immediately, instead raising an eyebrow toward the staircase. Following his gaze, Jiang Chi saw Wen Wen standing there – peach-blossom eyes fixed on her with unreadable intensity.
Wen Wen wore form-fitting workout gear, her hair in a high ponytail. Apparently fresh from exercise, her chest rose and fell slightly, damp tendrils framing her face, sweat glistening on her exposed shoulders and neck – radiating an intoxicating feminine energy.
The scene was so breathtaking it stunned everyone in the living room. Even Su Jing, who’d meant to provoke Wen Wen, couldn’t look away.
How had Jiang Chi not noticed Wen Wen’s outfit was this alluring earlier?
Their eyes met briefly before Jiang Chi was forcibly turned back toward the man. With six meters between them – outside the control range – she screamed internally: Sister! Help me!
But Wen Wen in her peripheral vision didn’t approach!
She’s angry. Definitely angry!
What to do!
If Wen Wen didn’t come over, she might be stuck with this man indefinitely.
Panicking internally, Jiang Chi’s hands moved against her will to grip Su Jing’s chin, forcefully turning his face toward her: “Brother Su Jing! No looking at other women!”
Like an angry pufferfish.
Su Jing found her puffed cheeks inexplicably adorable and reached to pinch them when suddenly a towel dropped onto his hand, its ends dangling midair.
Looking up, he saw Wen Wen standing before him with terrifying calm: “Apologies. The towel fell by itself.” She pulled both ends, dragging his hand away from Jiang Chi.
As his grip loosened, the towel slipped. Wen Wen hooked a nearby trash can with her long leg, let the towel drop in, then kicked the bin back into place with perfect precision.
The bin’s movement created minimal noise – were it not for the newly acquired towel, one might think it hadn’t moved at all.
A bespectacled female staff member was so stunned by the scene that she gaped openly. Coming to her senses, she whispered to the colleague beside her with straight bangs: “Has Teacher Wen trained for this or something?”
The straight-banged girl nodded excitedly, she was Wen Wen’s die-hard fan. “I’m not exaggerating! My goddess is good at everything!”
Wen Wen’s fluid, practiced movements left everyone on set dumbfounded.
Everyone except Jiang Chi.
Jiang Chi’s heart was filled only with unease. The plot control over her had long been lifted, yet she didn’t dare throw herself at Wen Wen to act spoiled and unreasonable as usual because Wen Wen hadn’t glanced at her even once, walking straight past without a sideways look.
Obviously! Extremely angry!
Fortunately, Wen Wen wasn’t so angry as to distance herself completely, sitting down not too far away.
Still within range of being coaxed.
Su Jing raised an eyebrow slightly, glancing at his hand that had been covered by the towel. His expression remained neutral, but inwardly he was quite pleased. Wen Wen’s state clearly indicated jealousy.
From the start of the program recording, Wen Wen had been competing with him. He’d been puzzled, why such hostility toward him? But now the reason was obvious, Wen Wen had feelings for Jiang Chi.
No wonder she’d ignored his previous overtures. So she preferred women and foolish women like Jiang Chi at that.
What a pity though, the person Jiang Chi liked was him.
Smugly, he glanced at the clearly gloomy figure nearby, then turned his gaze forward with profound tenderness in his eyes. Coincidentally, Jiang Chi looked up at him at the same moment. Before he could do anything, she recoiled from him as if seeing something filthy, putting distance between them in an instant.
Su Jing froze momentarily before following: “Jiang Jiang, didn’t you want to know what I did today? I can tell you every little detail.”
Jiang Chi made an X gesture with her arms in front of her chest, forcing a smile. “No thanks, I don’t want to hear it anymore.”
As she spoke, she retreated backward until she was next to Wen Wen.
Her back pressed against Wen Wen’s arm.
Nowhere left to retreat.
Jiang Chi’s eyes darted sideways toward Wen Wen, afraid she might push her away.
Fortunately, that didn’t happen, Wen Wen didn’t react at all.
Su Jing looked at Wen Wen, a flash of triumph in his eyes as he said meaningfully: “I see you must want to talk privately, right? We’ll chat later then.”
With that, he stepped back like a perfect gentleman, maintaining a comfortable social distance.
Jiang Chi didn’t move from her spot, merely straightening slightly while stealing furtive glances at Wen Wen beside her, her guilt growing stronger.
She could clearly sense Wen Wen’s unhappiness.
Jiang Chi found it strange, why didn’t Wen Wen act like the vicious antagonists in other stories, fiercely warning her to stay away from the male lead?
If she had, Jiang Chi could have retorted: “If you want me to stay away from him, then just keep watch over me yourself at all times!”
Wen Wen’s restraint left her with no room to act spoiled!
“Now that everyone’s here, I’ll announce the results of today’s CP hide-and-seek mission,” Director Xu declared through his megaphone. “The fastest CP was Jiang Chi and Wen Wen’s Cooling CP, followed by Jin Jin Yi and Ji Mei’s Golden Season CP, with Su Jing and Bai Yue Tong’s Su Bai CP coming in last.”
“So congratulations to our Cooling CP for winning tonight’s luxurious romantic dinner!”
“What about the extra surprise?” Ji Mei asked. “Wasn’t it said that the person who completes their task first would get an extra surprise? What is it?”
“And there can only be one first place, right?” Jin Jin Yi added. “How is the winner judged?”
Director Xu cleared his throat. “The standard is whoever completes their individual task in the shortest time.”
“So who is it?” Su Jing asked.
“Who do you think it is?” Director Xu teased, his gaze sweeping over the group.
The guests exchanged glances, but no one spoke up.
“Director Xu, stop keeping us in suspense,” Jiang Chi urged.
“The person who finished their task fastest today is Wen Wen,” Director Xu announced. “As for the extra surprise, the winning guest gets to choose their date partner for tomorrow first, and the chosen person must accept without refusal.”
“However, other guests can still compete for the right to date either Wen Wen or her chosen partner. Unless Wen Wen changes her selection, her chosen partner cannot switch their choice.”
“You can invite your date partner face-to-face or by phone there are various methods, so feel free to choose.”
For a moment, Jiang Chi felt her heart stop beating.
Her date with Wen Wen today had only happened because she shamelessly clung to her last night. If the partners were switched tonight. She slowly turned her gaze to Su Jing. Wen Wen would definitely choose to go on a date with Su Jing, wouldn’t she?
What should she do? Given her fate of being controlled at any moment, wouldn’t Wen Wen and Su Jing’s romantic outing end up becoming a trio? What embarrassing things would she do. She couldn’t even imagine it.
Wen Wen asked, “When can I choose?” Her voice was cool and devoid of emotion.
The words snapped Jiang Chi out of her thoughts. Nothing was decided yet. If she had succeeded in clinging to Wen Wen the first time, maybe she could do it again.
Thinking this, Jiang Chi’s hand on the sofa inched closer to Wen Wen’s, trying to hook her pinky finger around Wen Wen’s.
Two slender, pale fingers with rounded tips slowly intertwined.
She did it!
Wen Wen hadn’t rejected her!
Jiang Chi’s heart leaped with joy, but the woman before her showed no reaction, as if completely unaware, her gaze calmly fixed on Director Xu.
Director Xu asked, “Do you already have someone in mind for the date?”
Wen Wen replied, “Yes.”
Director Xu: “No need to reconsider?”
Jiang Chi anxiously scratched Wen Wen’s finger with her own, like a pet dog desperately trying to get its owner’s attention.
Unfortunately, the owner ignored her completely.
“No need,” Wen Wen said succinctly.
Director Xu: “Then please name the guest you’d like to choose.”
“I want!” Wen Wen deliberately drew out her words, glancing at Jiang Chi from the corner of her eye.
Jiang Chi, frantic, hooked her ring finger around Wen Wen’s and whispered pitifully, “Jiejie!”
“I’ll reconsider, then,” Wen Wen said as she withdrew her hand, the corners of her lips curling slightly. “I’ll make my choice after dinner.”
She wanted to see what other tricks her little puppy had up her sleeve.
“In that case, the rest of the time is yours to spend as you wish.”
In the restaurant, the production team had already prepared a luxurious dinner for the first-place couple, pink tablecloth, pink plates, incredibly romantic. The table was laden with all sorts of delicious dishes, with two seats arranged at opposite ends.
Jiang Chi glanced at the length of the table, two and a half meters.
If she and Wen Wen sat on opposite ends.
She followed Wen Wen to one side and, seeing her about to sit down, quickly stopped her. “Sister, why don’t you sit over there? I want to sit here.”
Wen Wen gave her a strange look but didn’t say much, walking around the table to the other side.
Jiang Chi promptly picked up her chair and followed closely behind her.
Like a little tail.
Hearing the movement behind her, Wen Wen paused and turned around, raising an eyebrow slightly as she looked at the person behind her.
Jiang Chi froze for a moment before slowly setting down the chair in her hands, looking a little embarrassed. “Sister, I want to be closer to you. Is that okay?”
Her dark, bright eyes blinked rapidly, brimming with anticipation.
“Is that so.?” Wen Wen curved her lips slightly, leaning down to whisper in her ear, “If you don’t mind, you could even sit on my lap.”
She lifted her gaze, landing on Jiang Chi’s earlobe, which was turning visibly pink at an alarming speed.
Wen Wen was surprised.
This was the first time she’d ever seen Jiang Chi flustered.
But while some people might look shy, their words could still be anything but reserved. In a voice only the two of them could hear, Jiang Chi countered, “Really? But I’m a little heavy. How about you sit on my lap instead?”
Wen Wen froze for three seconds before letting out a soft laugh, her lips nearly brushing Jiang Chi’s ear. “Sure, then go sit down first.”
Those delicate, round earlobes were practically glowing red.
Jiang Chi turned her head away, clearing her throat. “Sister, let’s hurry up and eat. The food will get cold soon.”
Wen Wen couldn’t help but smile. So she was all talk.
But that was very Jiang Chi.
Jiang Chi carried her chair to the right side of the table, placing it just a corner’s width away from Wen Wen’s seat.
After setting it down, she hurried over to pull out Wen Wen’s chair for her, looking up with a grin. “Sister, come sit!”
Once they were seated, Jiang Chi picked up a piece of fish, placed it in her own bowl, meticulously removed the bones, and then transferred it to Wen Wen’s bowl. “Sister, try this! The fish looks really good!”
Wen Wen glanced at the pristine white fish in her bowl, then lifted her eyes to Jiang Chi, who was watching her eagerly as if she’d keep staring until Wen Wen took a bite.
Her little puppy was adorable even when trying to please someone.
Wen Wen picked up the fish and put it in her mouth.
Jiang Chi immediately pressed, “How is it? Good?”
Wen Wen: “Mhm, very good.”
Jiang Chi beamed. “Sister, what else do you want? I’ll get it for you!”
“Do you want shrimp? I’ll peel some for you.”
Wen Wen set down her chopsticks gently, studying the person in front of her seriously. “Before that, why don’t you tell me what you want first?”
“I—”
Before she could finish, a tall figure suddenly inserted itself between them, followed by a voice Jiang Chi really didn’t want to hear: “Jiang Jiang, would you be my date tomorrow?”
The table full of colorful, delicious dishes seemed to lose all their vibrancy in an instant.
Jiang Chi took a deep breath and looked up with a smile. “Professor Su, could you let me finish my meal in peace first?”
Su Jing knew he shouldn’t bring this up during dinner, but he wanted Wen Wen to witness Jiang Chi agreeing to a date with him tomorrow with her own ears.
His affectionate gaze bore straight into her eyes as he said gently, “Jiang Jiang, all you have to do is say yes.”
“I…”
Once again, her words were cut off before she could finish.
This time, however, it was Wen Wen who interrupted.
Wen Wen picked up a meatball with her chopsticks and held it to Jiang Chi’s lips. “This is delicious.”
Jiang Chi froze for a moment before snapping back to reality and taking a big bite of the meatball. She then pointed at her stuffed mouth and shot Su Jing a look that clearly said, I can’t talk right now, so scram.
The meatball puffed up her cheeks like a hamster mid-meal, making her look utterly adorable.
Seeing her like this, Su Jing’s frustration at having his invitation deliberately interrupted by Wen Wen instantly vanished. His lips curled slightly as he flicked Jiang Chi’s nose with his finger. “You little glutton. We’ll talk after you finish eating.”
He cast an ambiguous glance at Wen Wen before turning and walking away.
Jiang Chi’s chewing came to an abrupt halt. Was my nose dirty? She stiffened for two seconds before turning awkwardly toward Wen Wen, who didn’t even glance at her, continuing to eat with quiet elegance.
Jiang Chi wiped her nose with a napkin and whined pitifully, “Sister!”
With the meatball still in her mouth, her voice came out muffled, making her sound even more aggrieved.
Wen Wen pretended not to understand, not even lifting her eyes as she pushed a plate toward Jiang Chi and said flatly, “If you don’t like it, spit it out.”
“That’s not it.” Jiang Chi chewed quickly and swallowed the meatball before pouting. “Sis, he was the one who touched me.”
The subtext was clear: It wasn’t my idea, don’t be mad at me.
“Are you unhappy?” Wen Wen finally looked up at her.
Jiang Chi’s eyes darted around until they landed on the living room, where Su Jing was gently brushing a grain of rice from Bai Yue Tong’s lips. She leaned closer to Wen Wen’s ear and whispered, “To be honest with you, sis, everyone knows I’ve been chasing Su Jing for ages. Every time he does something intimate like that, I get so happy I could float for days. But.”
“Just like now, he doesn’t act like that only with me. He’s like a sensitive plant, shrinking bashfully at the slightest touch, and it’s the same with everyone.”
“People say love is selfish. If he really liked me, how could he treat me the same as everyone else? I know it’s probably just his nature, and I can’t blame him entirely, but if I don’t blame him, I just feel so wronged and miserable. Sis, tell me, why am I so unlucky? Wasting my best years loving someone who isn’t worth it.”
She wiped away nonexistent tears from her face, shot Wen Wen a pitiful glance, then clutched her chest dramatically, as if heartbroken, for a full two seconds before continuing:
“But I’m forcing myself to move on now. I’ll just consider those years of my youth fed to the dogs. I accept it.”
She wiped away two more imaginary tears, blinked at Wen Wen, and ventured cautiously, “Sis, someone with no sense of boundaries like that really isn’t worth loving, right?”
Jiang Chi waited eagerly for Wen Wen’s response. She had said so much in hopes that Wen Wen would see Su Jing more clearly and not waste her time on that hopeless case!
However, Wen Wen didn’t show any particular reaction and simply changed the subject: “So, would you accept his invitation for a date?”
Her expression was very serious.
