- Chapter 16 - Becoming an Excellent Male
“Why can’t you be satisfied?”
“Ngh,” Victor bit the back of his hand, applying constant pressure to prevent himself from making unfamiliar sounds.
He loathed the feeling of losing control. This was precisely why he had avoided seeking out a male for so many years, but the power of genetic programming was simply too overwhelming.
No matter how hard he resisted, the older he grew, the stronger the allure became. He knew that if he did not conceive a larva soon, his own body would eventually betray him, turning him into a madman perpetually in heat.
“Heh,” Sirius inevitably felt a sense of comfort.
Undoubtedly, mature fruit was exceptionally sweet. A fully ripened Captain was far more delicious than a semi ripe Vice Captain.
Despite both being military females, Victor was taller, and unlike the burly Lex, his muscles were less pronounced. Perhaps because he had served as Captain for years and no longer needed to engage in frontline combat, his daily training had slackened. Even so, his firm thighs retained a wonderful texture under Sirius’s touch.
Even if Sirius’s heart remained flat and emotionless, it did not hinder the cold honesty of his physical actions.
Biological instinct.
“Hiss,” Victor sucked in a breath. “I may be a military female, but you cannot bend me like this!”
“Why can’t I?”
Sirius did not listen to Victor’s explanation; he merely continued to press the other insect’s leg down according to his own whim.
“Ah!”
It was a cry of genuine pain.
Sirius did not stop. He continued his movements, leaning down to laugh into Victor’s ear. “See? It is possible after all, is it not?”
Victor crawled up with effort, attempting to pull his leg back, but just as his knee was about to buckle, Sirius pressed down with a heavy force.
All of Victor’s efforts went to waste; he collapsed there, paralyzed.
Sirius gently brushed against Victor’s hair. “What is wrong? Giving up already? I thought as a SSS rank military female, your endurance would be much higher.”
“Heh.” At this moment, Victor finally snapped out of Sirius’s previous deceptions. “You are deliberately playing with me, are you not?”
“From the start, you provoked me, belittled me, and enticed me into willingly catering to you. But you loathe me, so you cannot help but humiliate me. I do not understand; how exactly did I offend you?”
“How did you offend me?”
Sirius’s expression turned cold. Since Victor had seen through him, there was no longer any need to pretend. “Must you offend me for me to treat you like this?”
“Tell me, since you were willing to risk ruining a male just to gain a larva through a political marriage, what did he do wrong? If he can be sacrificed, then why can you not sacrifice yourself? Why not risk paralysis to obtain a larva from me?”
“After all, I will give you a superior larva. Is that not the fulfillment of your wish? Should you not be very satisfied?”
“Why do you demand so much? You already possess so much, do you not? Why do you not know how to cherish it? Why can you not be satisfied?”
Sirius completely tore off his mask. A violent storm of emotion erupted. Victor argued loudly, “When did I demand too much? This is a frame up! I think you are the one who is insatiably greedy and acting for no reason!”
Insatiably greedy.
Sirius froze for a moment.
It was true. He was indeed insatiably greedy, wanting everything. Having been granted a second life after death, he should have been satisfied. Becoming a male, he should have been satisfied. Living a peaceful life among the Zerg, he should have been even more satisfied!
Look at him. What did he want that he did not have? What did he desire that he had not obtained? By what right did he still demand that this place have a connection to the human world?
“Haha,” Sirius lowered his head and broke into an abrupt, jarring laugh.
Fragments of wood dust drifted onto his head, and his black hair fell against his temples. Seeing an opportunity, Victor moved slowly, trying to crawl away, only to be pinned back down by the now composed Sirius.
Suddenly, Victor’s expression turned to one of terror. He struggled even more violently, causing the specially reinforced bed to shake and rattle.
He was afraid not just of Sirius, but of something else entirely.
“What are you doing? What is that? What are you doing?”
“Do not be nervous. It is just a bit of spiritual power; nothing special,” Sirius said with eerie calmness. “My rank is lower than yours. To paralyze you, I have to use some external force.”
“Coincidentally, my spiritual power is a bit unique. Why do you not be the first to experience it? Remember to give me a review of the experience.”
After speaking, Sirius let out a long breath. He rose from Victor, straightened his slightly disheveled clothes, smoothed the wrinkles on his sleeves, and checked his optical computer.
Sirius had taken another leave of absence. Since there was no longer any point in continuing his research, there was no need to go to work. He was even planning to switch to a more meaningful job, so he had requested several days of leave.
He had not yet told Julian. After a sweet morning farewell, five hours had passed before he found Victor. Thanks to the legendary stamina of military females, Victor could still maintain a semblance of dignity on the surface and even speak to Sirius.
Victor lay there, paralyzed. Sirius stood before him. Victor kept his heterochromatic red and gold eyes half lidded, still refusing to acknowledge Sirius as a threat.
“Your spiritual power is decent, My Lord, but how long can you sustain it? Do you truly know the limits of a military female? Perhaps I should thank you for your meticulous service.”
“So what?” Sirius’s emotions did not fluctuate in the slightest. “Victor, do not harbor any illusions that I cannot sustain this. To be honest, my spiritual power was born high. I once stopped a sightseeing vehicle at full horsepower instantly.”
“At that time, I had to release my spiritual power over a large area. But for you, I do not need to do that.”
“Perhaps you do not yet understand what this means?”
“It means it has been proven that I can use my spiritual power freely. Which is to say, at any time, in any place, while you are speaking to your subordinates, while you are reporting to the Council, while you are conversing with the Main Brain, while you are doing anything, I can make you go into heat.”
“Do you want to test how powerful my spiritual power is in the middle of a crowd?”
“You would not dare!”
If such a thing really happened, Victor’s years of hard work would be utterly ruined. Even if he did not suffer a mental breakdown, he would be socially destroyed.
He began to struggle desperately. The chains clattered against the corners of the bed as he lunged toward Sirius with a distorted face, seemingly intending to bite him. But the quality of these Zerg products was simply too high; he could neither break free nor reach Sirius.
Sirius smiled. “Why would I not dare? If you collapse and die, who could prove I was the one who did it?”
If Victor dared to plot against Cyril, why would Sirius not dare to treat him this way?
“Ha. You truly are an excellent male.”
Cold blooded, selfish, hypocritical, and unscrupulous. Sirius possessed all the flaws of high ranking males, and then some.
“Thank you for the compliment.”
Sirius accepted it readily. After all, this was what a high ranking male should master: using what one possesses to get what one wants, right?
It must be. He really could integrate. It was simple.
Sirius closed his eyes, inhaling deeply to empty his mind. Victor grit his teeth and buried his face deeper into the pillow, falling silent. Clearly, he still wanted to resist.
So, Sirius stood there, quietly watching him lose himself. He closed his eyes and reached out to rub Victor’s sweat drenched hair.
His movements were gentle, but the female lying there reacted violently, like a carp out of water flopping helplessly on a cutting board.
But obviously, to achieve their goal, chefs do not pity the food on the board; they only mercilessly stretch it out, flatten it, and strike it with a knife until it becomes a dead fish.
Sirius was a living being; everything he did had a limit. But spiritual power was not. It had no shape, no size, and no length. It changed at Sirius’s whim. How long could Victor endure?
He did not know. But Sirius’s spiritual power had grown significantly; he felt quite good right now.
Sirius watched with cold eyes. After a long time, seeing Victor lying there motionless and paralyzed, he finally lifted Victor’s head from the pillow.
Undoubtedly, Victor was soaked through. Moisture of unknown origin covered him everywhere. Those sharp, heterochromatic eyes finally turned soft.
“My Lord,” Victor whispered.
Sirius replied with a smile, “Yes, I am still here.” He withdrew his spiritual power and looked down at the military female. “If you are willing to be obedient and stop provoking me, I will let you go. How about it?”
Victor took a moment to recover, gritting his teeth as he looked at Sirius.
Clearly, he had objections and was unwilling to obey Sirius’s command, but when the words came out, they took a different form.
“Of course, My Lord. Could any insect possibly disobey you?”
Sirius smiled with satisfaction.
See? It was very simple. There was no need to consult other males; the problem could be solved easily.
Now, Cyril was safe. He had returned to the track where he belonged.
That was good.
The wind outside was soft. The Zerg world had no seasons, only a warm and gentle spring. The trees were lush, and the wind rustled the leaves with a rustling sound, causing sunlight to dance across Sirius’s body. Occasionally, it hit his eyes, feeling a bit piercing and uncomfortable.
This was a yellow sun. It was not large; it was a creation of Zerg technology that orbited the planet to simulate light and heat. In truth, it had no effect on Zerg plants, but it could hurt the sensitive eyes of the Zerg.
Dark, damp, and warm; those were the places the Zerg truly loved.
Walking out of the forest, the area ahead brightened completely. Sirius closed his eyes and quietly enjoyed the unshielded sunlight, as if doing so could wash away the sins upon his body.
