- Chapter 9 - Raising a Daughter Rule Nine: The One Who Chickens Out is a Dog
“Ah! We still need to go over there.”
A female Beta: “No way, bro, I’m kinda scared.”
“How about we call the police?” someone suggested in a hushed voice.
“Yeah, yeah, call the police, quick!”
“Ding Moyan is so violent!” The perfect goddess image shattered before their eyes, leaving the male Beta utterly heartbroken.
Another person patted the male Beta’s shoulder, eyes filled with admiration for the President: “Stop dreaming. She’s the President’s. Only the President can keep her in check, okay?”
“As expected of the President. So impressive,” the female Beta agreed.
“Stop talking, look over there, Ding Yue’s front teeth got knocked out!”
“Ah!”
Ding Yue’s screams were pitiful. Seeing the blood, Ding Moyan’s eyes gradually filled with madness, her strikes growing fiercer.
“Help!”
“Freeze! Hands on your head and squat down!” Several police officers rushed in.
Staring at the silver handcuffs on her wrists, Ding Moyan’s expression darkened: What’s going on? Why are the police here?
[Someone called the police.]
Ding Moyan’s gaze dimmed, her lashes lowering. This was her first time being hauled into a police station, and her mood was terrible: Then why didn’t you warn me?
[Host, you don’t need a warning. You’re fearless and invincible.]
At the police station’s mediation room,
A female officer tossed a phone to Ding Yue: “Call your family.”
Ding Yue dialed his sister right now, he really didn’t dare call his parents.
“Sis,” Ding Yue spoke into the phone, hunched over, his tone meek and voice low, none of the arrogance he’d shown earlier when provoking others.
“And you?” The female officer picked up a spare phone and turned to Ding Moyan.
Ding Moyan: “Oh, I already told my sister. She’ll come pick me up soon.”
[Host, when did you say that?]
Ding Moyan’s expression remained indifferent: I didn’t. I lied. Anyway, isn’t my sister his sister too?
Ding Yue, who had just finished his call, overheard this and snarled viciously: “Your sister must be just as disgusting as you.”
Ding Moyan stared fixedly at Ding Yue, as if trying to find flowers blooming on his face.
Ding Yue’s back chilled under her gaze. Gritting his teeth, he reminded himself that his sister would arrive soon and forced himself to act tough: “What the hell are you looking at?”
Then, he continued with his disgusting threats: “You’d better pray your sister’s an Alpha. If she’s a Beta or Omega, I’ll make sure she suffers, I’ll have her bullied so badly she’ll never escape.”
“No, even if she is an Alpha, I’ll send someone to dig out her Gland and turn her into a worthless cripple.”
Ding Moyan scoffed lightly, then mischievously closed the recording app and waved her phone at Ding Yue: “Got it all recorded. Remember what you just said.”
“When my sister gets here, don’t you dare chicken out.” Ding Moyan’s gaze turned icy as she enunciated each word: “If you do, you’re a dog.”
“If I don’t curse you out, I’m the dog. If I do, you’re the dog.” Ding Yue sneered. He’d just gotten word that his sister would arrive in a minute. Plus, without pheromones suppressing him, he wasn’t afraid of her anymore and fired back directly.
Ding Moyan nodded with a smile, pursing her lips slightly as she leaned back in her chair and shrugged lazily.
After hours of dealing with Ding Yue’s nonsense, Ding Moyan couldn’t help but inwardly mock: If this idiot could outsmart the original host, just how stupid must the original have been?
“Bai Bai, if you ask me, your little brother deserves a good beating. Getting into a fight and ending up at the police station and from what I heard, he was the one who got beaten up.” Ye Ye was still fuming over having waited so long in vain.
“Having to bail someone out from the police station, what an embarrassment for Bai Bai.”
“Isn’t your brother a Grade B Alpha? To beat him up would require either an A-grade overpowering or a brutal thrashing from someone of the same level. Given what you’ve said about him practicing Muay Thai and martial arts, I’d say the first scenario is more likely.” Yu Sisi speculated, “How many A-grade Alphas are there in our school again?”
“Excluding the President, there are about three.” Ding Bai had been scowling the entire way, her aura so oppressive it felt suffocating. “But none of those three seem likely.”
“Which three?” This was the first time Yu Sisi had seen Ding Bai so agitated and angry, and it worried her. She glanced sideways at Ye Ye, only to find her completely uninterested in engaging.
“Zou Ye, Fei Yu, and Ding Moyan.”
“Out of them, I’ve interacted with Zou Ye a few times. She’s cautious and values her reputation too much to be the type to beat someone up and land in the police station.” Ding Bai slowed her pace, analyzing each possibility. “Fei Yu is a singer, rarely at school. No chance for her to be involved.”
Ye Ye, now intrigued and no longer cursing Ding Yue, chimed in, “What about Ding Moyan?”
“Right now, I’m praying it’s not Ding Moyan.” A venomous glint flashed in Ding Bai’s eyes as she tightened her grip on her handbag, sneering coldly. “Otherwise, that idiot Ding Yue can just go die.”
At the entrance of the police station,
Ding Bai stood on the steps, chest heaving as she struggled to suppress her raging pheromones before stepping inside.
“Sis!” Ding Yue caught a whiff of dark chocolate pheromones and immediately looked up. His legs, numb from squatting too long, gave way, causing him to collapse onto his knees right in front of Ding Bai and the others.
“Sis, someone bullied me.” Ding Yue sobbed, his words slurred and comical due to a missing front tooth courtesy of Ding Moyan’s fist.
Ding Bai instinctively looked down at her kneeling younger brother. His face was bruised, his clothes torn, and a patch of his green hair had been yanked out, leaving him a pitiful sight.
Nearby, Ding Moyan, who had been dozing, slowly opened her eyes. Hearing Ding Yue’s whining, the corner of her lips curled into an amused smirk.
Ding Moyan lifted her head, resting her chin on her fingers as she tilted it slightly, her tone teasing and mocking. “Little sister, you’re here.”
It really was Ding Moyan. Ding Bai froze mid-step, her body turning stiffly, like a malfunctioning machine, toward the woman she least wanted to see.
“What did you just call me?”
Faced with Ding Moyan’s sly grin and provocative tone, a chill seeped into Ding Bai’s bones, sending a shiver down her spine. Since when had Ding Moyan ever called her that? “Little sister”? So affectionate there had to be something sinister behind it.
