- Transmigrated Into a Scummy Alpha Who Stole the Male Lead's Mermaid Fiancée
- Chapter 71 - Killing Intent
The spacecraft Yu Ke piloted was one she had recently purchased at great expense. Its speed was ten times that of the Princess, with stable performance and half the energy consumption, making it highly suitable for interstellar travel. However, its drawback was the cramped cabin space, there was no separate bathroom or kitchen, making daily life quite inconvenient. Even the sleeping berth was far from spacious, squeezed above the pilot’s seat like a suspended coffin.
In just half an hour, Yu Ke had already left the star domain of the Blackwater Republic. She entered coordinates into the navigation system, switched to autopilot, and spent the remaining time researching information about Annie.
Annie had become a notorious interstellar fugitive thirty years ago, roaming the stars alongside York Dan, the other founder of All-Free. Initially, their base was on a ship, where they liberated colonies through guerrilla warfare, gradually gaining the support of the interstellar underclass.
She was a true revolutionary with unwavering beliefs. From the moment she embarked on her revolutionary path, she completely severed ties with the planet Panda. Given the long lifespan of mermaids, the recent photos Yu Ke found showed Annie looking almost identical to how she did over thirty years ago, a beautiful and robust Alpha mermaid princess.
As a revolutionary, Annie was deeply concerned about the plight of clones. She had repeatedly called on the Interstellar Alliance to shut down clone factories and ban the production of clones in any nation. Reading this, Yu Ke began to develop a favorable impression of Annie. Had they met earlier, they might have become like-minded allies, joining forces to dismantle the old world’s rules and create a better new one.
The spacecraft entered the orbit of a star in the Condor system, began adjusting its speed and course, and gradually approached the designated coordinates.
From a distance, Yu Ke could already see Annie’s ship.
It was a massive, sunflower-shaped vessel. The outer petals were covered in golden solar panels, while the interior housed dozens, if not hundreds, of sleeping cabins. The control room was located at the solar-flower’s core, emblazoned with the All-Free organization’s sunflower emblem: bold, imposing, and full of character. Yu Ke was instantly drawn to the ship at first sight.
As her own ship drew closer, the sunflower spacecraft loomed larger and larger, resembling a colossal mountain that blocked out the light of the star behind it. Compared to the sunflower ship, Yu Ke’s vessel was like a buzzing bee, swiftly skimming past the sunflower’s cabins.
Just then, Yu Ke’s ship received a communication request from the sunflower spacecraft. She accepted the connection, and Annie herself appeared on the screen. Dressed in a black gown adorned with golden sequins, the dress trailed to the floor, accentuating her figure beautifully, with elegant curves at the hips. Smiling, she looked at Yu Ke and said, “Princess, welcome to All-Free.”
Yu Ke raised an eyebrow, gradually growing uncomfortable with being addressed as “Princess.” She replied, “Annie, you… This isn’t the headquarters of All-Free, is it?”
Annie responded, “Indeed, you guessed correctly. The core members of the organization are all here.”
I thought it would be a one-on-one meeting, but Annie had directly set the venue at the headquarters of All-Free.
Yu Ke was slightly taken aback. “I came alone. Was it really necessary to arrange such a grand setup?”
“It’s not just me who wants to meet you, my companions do too,” Annie said with a smile. “Sorry for not making it clear beforehand. I figured if I told you everything, you might not have come to see me.”
Yu Ke felt tricked and was momentarily at a loss for words. But since she was already here, she decided to take things one step at a time.
“I know your situation, you want to save Lan Xing. I can assure you of one thing: you’ve definitely come to the right place this time,” Annie said as she deactivated the Sunflower spaceship’s shielding system and lowered the docking platform, waiting for Yu Ke’s ship to connect.
Soon, Yu Ke stood before Annie. Only upon meeting her did she realize Annie was much taller than she had imagined, towering a full head above Yu Ke, she appeared to be nearly two meters tall.
Her arms and thighs were far more robust than those of an ordinary human, but these strong limbs harmonized perfectly with her two-meter frame, making her look exceptionally beautiful.
Yu Ke extended her hand for a handshake, but Annie instead opened her arms and embraced her. Being so much taller, Annie made Yu Ke feel quite uncomfortable, especially when her warm chest pressed tightly against her.
“I’m still not used to hugging someone I’ve just met,” Yu Ke said, withdrawing her hand with an impassive expression. “Annie, I hope you can tell me directly how to save Lan Xing.”
“Don’t worry, dear. I won’t lie to you,” Annie replied with a friendly smile, gesturing for Yu Ke to follow her inside.
Along the way, Yu Ke encountered all sorts of people. Some she had seen in her research, like Jiashen, a top-tier interstellar fugitive, who greeted her with a gesture while wearing small sunglasses. There was also a prince from some planet on the run, anxiously discussing with the organization’s members how to reclaim his kingdom.
In other words, Yu Ke was now surrounded by interstellar rebels, the so-called “terrorists” in people’s eyes. When she thought about it carefully, the situation was overwhelmingly thrilling.
Before crossing over, Yu Ke had been just an ordinary person who studied hard and worked diligently, she had never witnessed such scenes before.
She could only hope Annie wasn’t deceiving her. With this thought, Yu Ke glanced up at Annie, who noticed her gaze and gave her an amiable smile as they walked. “What’s wrong?” she asked.
Seeing her smile, Yu Ke’s tension eased slightly. She couldn’t quite explain why, but Annie seemed to possess a unique aura that made her exceptionally approachable. Likewise, her words were incredibly persuasive, and her smile had a calming effect. No wonder she could always incite the masses in colonial regions to join the revolutionary cause and attract more and more like-minded individuals to the organization. Perhaps this was her special ability as a mermaid Alpha.
Trying to make conversation, Yu Ke asked, “Are we there yet?”
Annie shook her head with a laugh. “The Sunflower is quite spacious. It is a bit of a distance from the entrance to the reception room, but if even a mermaid like me can endure it, what’s there for you to complain about?”
Upon hearing this, Yu Ke glanced at Annie again. Seeing her long dress sweeping the floor without revealing any traces beneath, Yu Ke suddenly realized that Annie had walked all this way without making any sound of footsteps. Her eyelids lifted slightly in surprise. “Are you in mermaid form right now?”
Annie then lifted the hem of her dress to show Yu Ke whether she had a fishtail or human legs underneath.
Yu Ke inhaled softly, her expression growing even more incredulous as she looked at Annie.
“It really is a fishtail. How can you maintain this form while walking?”
Annie said, “It’s an ability gained through practice. At first, I couldn’t use my fishtail to walk on land either, but if a mermaid wants to come ashore, they must overcome certain difficulties.”
Yu Ke lowered her gaze and said, “Someone told me that the mermaids of Panda Planet rely on crystals to maintain a human form on land. It seems… you don’t have such a crystal.”
At the mention of crystals, Annie suddenly paused and looked at Yu Ke with deep meaning. “You even know about that? Did Lan Xing tell you?”
Yu Ke thought for a moment, recalling the green-tailed mermaid princess, Shasha… In truth, she didn’t know why Shasha had helped her, nor what motives had driven Shasha to share so much information. Her feelings were complicated, and she remained silent.
Annie shook her head and sighed softly.
Yu Ke asked, “What is it?”
Annie gestured for Yu Ke to look at her fishtail. Puzzled, Yu Ke waited as Annie said, “Dear, guess why I’m not using my own crystal?”
Yu Ke froze.
Annie smiled. “Or rather, guess who stole my crystal?”
A flash of insight crossed Yu Ke’s mind. She thought of the answer, and her heartbeat suddenly quickened.
A clue about Lan Xing… Could this be the clue Annie mentioned?! Yu Ke was still pondering the plausibility of it all. Could Lan Xing really have stolen Annie’s crystal?!
Annie opened the door to the reception room and slowly moved her tail to sit on a sofa chair, leaving the seat opposite for Yu Ke.
“Have you guessed, dear Princess?” Annie rested her hands on her knees, gazing elegantly at Yu Ke, her smile still warm and captivating.
“It’s Lan Xing, because she also needs your crystal,” Yu Ke said. “But I can’t understand how she managed to steal the crystal from you.”
Though this Lan Xing was not the same as the other, their genetic sequences were identical, meaning the two couldn’t be too different. Thus, Yu Ke truly couldn’t imagine how the gentle and kind Lan Xing could have stolen the crystal from Annie.
It was beyond comprehension.
At the thought of Lan Xing stealing her crystal, a flicker of anger flashed in Annie’s eyes. “Of course, she couldn’t do it on her own. But she hired a pirate, and that pirate… was from Green Water Planet.”
A name nearly escaped Yu Ke’s lips!
She looked at Annie, who studied her with amusement before continuing, “That female pirate from Green Water Planet, I heard she used to be your maid. Did she later betray you?”
Yu Ke’s lips moved as if she wanted to speak but hesitated.
She recalled the last time she had seen Jenny, her lonely and indifferent face, and the scene of her seducing Yu Ke while naked. A wave of discomfort washed over Yu Ke’s heart.
Queen Jiao, enraged by Yu Ke’s elopement with Lan Xing, redirected her fury onto Jenny, resulting in Jenny being sold to pirates and forced into a life on the run.
Yu Ke felt deeply indebted to her. Moreover, Jenny had originally served another master, her loyalty and devotion were meant for that person. Yu Ke was merely benefiting from the previous master’s legacy.
No matter the circumstances, Yu Ke wished for Jenny’s safety.
Just as Yu Ke was about to speak, Annie clasped her hands, her smile fading as she enunciated each word clearly: “A traitor, a pirate, a witch, your maid is truly remarkable, Yu Ke.”
Detecting a hint of murderous intent in her words, Yu Ke quickly asked, “What do you plan to do with her?”
“I’ve already given the order. As soon as my subordinates capture her, she will be executed immediately.” Annie’s eyes reflected unwavering resolve.
Yu Ke froze, then abruptly lifted her head to stare at Annie and cried out, “No!”
