- Transmigrated Into a Scummy Alpha Who Stole the Male Lead's Mermaid Fiancée
- Chapter 21 - Journey
Before planning to leave the Kingdom of Ferrari, Yu Ke had already assessed the assets in her account. With her personal capabilities alone, she couldn’t afford a long voyage.
But the twist was that she didn’t just have the funds in her account, she also possessed a special asset: the black card originally intended for Princess Lan Xing’s ransom was still in her possession.
On the day of the negotiation, the kidnappers remotely controlled a drone. After verifying the amount on the black card, they instructed Yu Ke to place it in the drone’s storage compartment before flying away.
In reality, Yu Ke had used the card provided by the Minister of Finance for verification, but when it came time to hand it over, she swapped it with a worthless card.
Had it been a face-to-face exchange, Yu Ke’s trick would have been easily detected. But with the distance afforded by the camera, she had room to maneuver.
It was essentially a case of gaining something for nothing, she rescued Princess Lan Xing and kept the fortune.
Afterward, Yu Ke considered turning the money over to the state, but the reality was that the country had repeatedly disappointed her. She decided it was better to keep the funds for herself.
So, using the money, she anonymously purchased a small spacecraft.
While waiting for the ship to arrive, Yu Ke immersed herself in learning about space navigation, principles of interstellar travel, precautions to take, essentials for long journeys, and knowledge of galactic geography.
Of course, this alone wasn’t enough to embark on a voyage. She still needed companions and a more detailed plan for the future.
She’d heard that in the outer ring of the Gemini Star System, there was a floating restaurant built on a massive aircraft carrier, with hundreds of docking bays, regularly hosting interstellar travelers.
Yu Ke planned to visit there first, hoping to meet like-minded companions or, at the very least, learn some travel tips from seasoned voyagers.
She hired a captain and a maid to handle daily tasks on the spacecraft, including cooking and chores.
The captain, a male Beta named Li Jian’an, had excelled in his youth at the Ferrari Kingdom’s Interstellar Academy. Despite his outstanding performance, he was unable to serve in the fleet due to his Beta status and ended up as an ordinary office worker.
When Yu Ke found him, he was walking his dog after work. The moment he heard about the opportunity to pilot a spacecraft, he got so excited that he dropped the leash. The next day, he resigned from his job without hesitation.
Yu Ke felt she had struck gold. After assessing his piloting skills, she immediately advanced him two months’ salary.
The maid, on the other hand, was chosen somewhat arbitrarily, her only notable trait was being a female Omega.
“Female Omegas are considerate, good at cooking, diligent, and can even help take care of pets,” Li Jian’an praised enthusiastically. “Most importantly, having a beautiful female Omega around lifts your spirits!”
Yu Ke agreed, “Fine, let’s go with her.”
Once aboard the spacecraft, they quickly discovered that this pretty Omega was utterly incompetent.
The rice she cooked was undercooked, vegetables turned purplish-black, and cleaning always resulted in a trail of broken items. In the end, Li Jian’an and Yu Ke had to step in to tidy up.
Yu Ke’s wheelchair was fully automated, meeting most of her daily needs and allowing her to move freely around the spacecraft. Yet the maid constantly insisted on pushing her, only to create more trouble than help.
Once again, the three of them failed to have a warm meal and had to continue drinking nutrient fluids.
Li Jian’an said sternly, “We must consider hiring a new maid.”
The maid, Xiao Nan, turned pale with shock upon hearing this and looked pleadingly at Yu Ke.
Her eyes were large, deep brown, and set in deep sockets, giving her a mixed-race appearance that seemed innocent and kind.
“Let’s wait until we reach the Sea Restaurant,” Yu Ke said. “If you truly can’t handle the job, I’ll buy you a ticket to go back.”
“I’ll definitely cook the meal properly next time!” Xiao Nan vowed earnestly.
Three days later, their spacecraft landed on the deck of the “Sea Restaurant.” The place was unbelievably grand: surrounded by all kinds of luxurious spacecraft, some old and worn, it resembled a large RV campsite. The entire starship was enveloped in a membrane, allowing them to breathe fresh air the moment they stepped off the ship.
The three of them disembarked together, but in the blink of an eye, Xiao Nan had disappeared.
Li Jian’an had no choice but to search for her, while Yu Ke, confined to a wheelchair, returned to the spacecraft to wait for news. Two hours later, Li Jian’an returned, covered in dust and looking defeated, with no success.
“This is truly disappointing,” Li Jian’an said, blaming himself. “Xiao Nan was my choice, and I never expected something like this to happen as soon as we landed.”
“Unpleasant things are bound to happen during travels. Don’t take it to heart. Let’s go get something good to eat. I haven’t had a warm meal in days,” Yu Ke said, brushing off the gloom with a smile. “My treat, order whatever you want.”
Li Jian’an jumped for joy and followed Yu Ke into the restaurant.
All the ingredients in the restaurant were cultivated on the starship. Upon entering, one could see hydroponic plants and various aquatic seafood. The servers here were all exceptionally skilled Alphas, and travelers from all corners of the galaxy were dining noisily and cheerfully.
“Do you think Xiao Nan might have caught the scent of an Alpha’s pheromones and panicked, hiding somewhere?” Li Jian’an asked, still worried about Xiao Nan after they sat down and ordered.
“She probably has her own plans,” Yu Ke said with a deep, thoughtful look. “Maybe she just wanted a ride with us from the start. As for why she came here and who she intended to meet, we have no way of knowing.”
Hearing this, Li Jian’an felt somewhat reassured. He glanced around nervously and said, “There are so many Alphas here…”
On a physiological level, Alphas indeed exuded an aura that made Omegas and Betas feel intimidated, so it was no wonder Li Jian’an was tense.
“Not all of them are Alphas,” Yu Ke explained. “Omegas are better at disguising themselves. Many who look like Alphas might actually be Omegas.”
So that’s how it is… Li Jian’an breathed a sigh of relief and calmed down a bit. He began to feel a sense of anticipation as he looked around and noticed a three-meter-tall giant waving at them.
Li Jian’an instinctively ducked his head, while Yu Ke calmly nodded back politely.
Over the next hour, three women approached them one after another.
“It seems you’re really popular with women,” Li Jian’an said, clutching his teacup and feeling uneasy. “Even though there’s a male Beta beside you, they can tell at a glance that I’m just a servant, not your partner.”
“Sometimes you have to admire women’s perceptiveness,” Yu Ke remarked leisurely as she cut into a blueberry cake. “Their intuition is remarkably accurate, probably because they notice details others tend to overlook.”
Li Jian’an took a sip of tea and pondered before responding, “That just makes us Betas seem even more ordinary by comparison.”
Yu Ke chuckled at this.
She noticed an elegant, beautiful woman observing her from a distance. Raising her glass in a subtle invitation, she watched as the woman gracefully approached and took a seat beside her.
“You’re the princess of the Ferrari Kingdom, I’ve seen you on the news,” the woman said, her scarlet lips curving into an enchanting smile.
“It’s an honor to be recognized,” Yu Ke replied politely. “How should I address you?”
“Just call me Zhenzhen.” Zhenzhen familiarly ordered a cocktail from the attendant.
She was the fourth woman to strike up a conversation with Yu Ke that evening, and by far the most stunning in both looks and charm.
A chaotic thought crossed Yu Ke’s mind, was she about to let loose and have a romantic encounter with this beautiful woman?
Distracted, Yu Ke answered Zhenzhen’s questions absentmindedly, her thoughts elsewhere.
Zhenzhen noticed her lack of focus. Her gaze drifted to the blueberry cake beside Yu Ke’s hand, and she smiled lightly. “You like blueberry cake too?”
Yu Ke glanced up abruptly, puzzled by her use of the word “too.”
“My younger sister is just like you, she loves this flavor as well,” Zhenzhen explained with a laugh.
“Really?” Yu Ke hesitated, wondering if Zhenzhen knew Lan Xing, but dismissed the idea as too coincidental.
“Is it really that delicious?” Zhenzhen leaned in closer and, using Yu Ke’s fork, took a slow bite of the cake, leaving a smear of lipstick mixed with blueberry jam. As she bent forward, her décolletage was exposed to Yu Ke, and the suggestive sound she made while eating seemed undeniably flirtatious.
But all Yu Ke could think about was how dirty the cake now was.
She had always been fastidious since childhood, she would never touch a cup someone else had drunk from, let alone a cake someone had bitten into.
Even though Zhenzhen was elegant and beautiful, Yu Ke’s mind fixated on the cake being contaminated.
Did this mean she was hopelessly straight?
Her thoughts in disarray, Zhenzhen continued chatting animatedly. They exchanged contact information before Yu Ke excused herself, claiming she wasn’t feeling well.
“See you soon, then. I’ll be at the restaurant these next few days, don’t forget to call me~” Zhenzhen said in a charming voice, waving elegantly.
Back on her spacecraft, Yu Ke slumped into the captain’s chair, crossing her legs over the display panel as she irritably flipped through a travel magazine.
Anyone following recent news would be inundated with headlines about the “Wedding of the Ferrari Prince and Panda Princess.”
Yu Ke refused to pay attention, avoiding news entirely and leaving her phone powered off.
Who would contact her anyway, aside from Queen Jiao?
Yet, despite her resolve, she couldn’t help occasionally wondering,
If given another chance, would Lan Xing choose her?
No, she couldn’t afford to be that foolish again.
“Grow up a bit,” she thought to herself. After all, she had traveled through time, she shouldn’t get tangled up in these emotional entanglements.
After wrestling with her thoughts for a while, Yu Ke decided to go find Zhenzhen. If she could start a new romance, wouldn’t that be a good thing for her?
“She doesn’t look like an Omega,” Li Jian’an reminded her. “This type is too dangerous!”
“Smart Omegas are good at disguising themselves as Alphas,” Yu Ke replied. “Especially during long journeys.”
Li Jian’an hesitated, wanting to say more, but in the end, he didn’t stop Yu Ke.
So, Yu Ke called Zhenzhen, asked for her location, and after changing into her gear, she headed over.
This time, she didn’t choose to use a wheelchair. Although the injury on her leg hadn’t fully healed, with the help of medical equipment, she could walk for half an hour without any problem.
Arriving at the fifth-floor restaurant, Yu Ke spotted Zhenzhen at a glance.
She was wearing a black high-slit gown, her excessively long legs strikingly enchanting under the lights. The way she held her wine glass was exceptionally elegant. Listening to her conversation, Yu Ke could infer that she must be a noble of extraordinary background.
Quietly, Yu Ke approached Zhenzhen. Just as she was about to greet her, Zhenzhen and her male companion unexpectedly locked lips.
Yu Ke caught the scent of Alpha pheromones, an aggressive, invasive, and dominant aura that made her, as an Alpha, feel intensely uncomfortable… and it was coming from Zhenzhen.
Yu Ke: “…”
She scrutinized Zhenzhen once more, confirming she hadn’t misjudged… Yes, it was the same beautiful and gentle Zhenzhen from before, but now she seemed like a completely different person, exuding a sharp and dangerous aura as she forcefully kissed a delicate man!
She had miscalculated, Zhenzhen was a genuine Alpha!!
The male Omega noticed Yu Ke’s presence and shyly pushed Zhenzhen away. Zhenzhen then turned around, revealing a generous smile. “Your Highness.”
Yu Ke: “.” How awkward.
“My apologies for interrupting,” Yu Ke said with a smile, turning to leave.
“Wait,” Zhenzhen grabbed Yu Ke’s arm firmly, her tone unyielding. “You came looking for me. If I, as your elder sister, did nothing, wouldn’t that be unreasonable?”
Yu Ke withdrew her hand. She realized her strength was no less than Zhenzhen’s. Even among Alphas, Yu Ke excelled in both strength and agility. She smirked, “Elder sister? What are you talking about?”
“Go crash the wedding, Yu Ke,” Zhenzhen said with a smile. “I’m on your side and on the side of Lan Xing.”
Yu Ke: “???”
She studied this enigmatic beauty carefully, turning the question over in her mind before asking the most crucial one: “Just who are you?”
