Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 77
These days, Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan kept hearing their daughter Tiantian talk about a new classmate at her kindergarten. The little girl’s name was Lu Ningwan. Other than her best friend Li Mengmeng, Lu Ningwan was the one Tiantian mentioned most frequently.
Tiantian had also been unusually enthusiastic about going to school lately. She wanted to be the first one in the classroom every day. That morning was no different—before the alarm even rang, she had already dressed herself and toddled off on her little legs to find Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan.
When she tiptoed into their room, the two were still fast asleep. Tiantian reached up to the bed and finally managed to grab Shen Xian’s arm, then began shaking her insistently.
“Mama, Mommy, wake up! If you don’t get up now, Tiantian will be late!”
Woken by her daughter’s calls, Shen Xian rubbed her eyes groggily and glanced at her phone—it was still early. She hadn’t gone for her usual morning jog lately and had mostly been getting up at the same time as Lin Qinghan. Sitting up, she asked Tiantian,
“Tiantian, school starts at the same time every day. Why have you been waking up so early recently?”
“Because!” Tiantian beamed. “Teacher said only the early birds are good kids! And Tiantian is a good kid, so I have to get there early!”
“Alright, alright.” Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan yawned as they got out of bed. Shen Xian went to freshen up first and then headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. Lin Qinghan stayed behind to help Tiantian wash up.
By the time Shen Xian placed breakfast on the table, it was only seven o’clock. School didn’t start until 8:10.
Unlike the two still waking up, Tiantian was full of energy. Her cheeks puffed out as she stuffed her face and happily praised Shen Xian’s cooking.
Shen Xian had made millet porridge and custard buns. The buns had been handmade the night before and kept frozen—ready to be steamed whenever needed.
While eating, Tiantian looked up and said, “Mommy, are there more of these buns? I want to take some to school and share with my classmates~”
Shen Xian chuckled and didn’t think much of it. She had made a large batch anyway, and it was a good thing for Tiantian to learn to share.
“There’s plenty. I’ll pack some for you to bring to school,” she said with a smile.
Tiantian nodded eagerly, the little tuft of hair atop her head bobbing along. “Thank you, Mommy! You’re the best!”
Lin Qinghan tapped Tiantian’s bowl with her chopsticks and playfully pouted,
“So your mommy’s the best, and I’m not?”
Only then did Tiantian snuggle against Lin Qinghan’s arm and coo,
“Mama is the best too! Tiantian loves Mama too!”
“You little charmer,” Lin Qinghan laughed, sharing a knowing look with Shen Xian. Both were clearly amused by their daughter’s antics.
Since it was still early, Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan drove Tiantian to school. Shen Xian had just parked the car when Lin Qinghan unbuckled Tiantian from her car seat. The little girl immediately darted toward the school gate.
Watching her cheerful sprint, Shen Xian asked,
“Was school ever that exciting for us?”
Lin Qinghan shook her head. “Definitely not for me. I was never this happy about going to school.”
Inside the classroom, Tiantian looked around eagerly. Only a few children had arrived this early, but she quickly spotted Lu Ningwan, who was already seated at her desk reading a book.
Lu Ningwan was six months older than Tiantian. She had a calm demeanor and looked like a porcelain doll carved from white jade. Even at four and a half, she gave off an air of quiet sophistication.
Her family owned the Qijiu fashion company. Both her parents were busy professionals, but they had always provided well for her. She had been tutored by private instructors from a young age, but she didn’t enjoy playing with other children. That’s why her parents had enrolled her in kindergarten—to help her socialize before elementary school started.
Clutching the bunny-shaped lunchbox filled with custard buns, Tiantian trotted up to Lu Ningwan, beaming.
“Xiao Lu-jiejie, I brought you some custard buns! My mommy made them herself—they’re super sweet and yummy~”
Lu Ningwan looked up from her book. She had noticed Tiantian the moment the little girl walked in. Tiantian was cheerful and well-liked—like a tiny, glowing sun. Everyone she spoke to seemed happy.
Kindergarten lessons were far too simple for Lu Ningwan. She already knew many characters, was good at math and English, and had no interest in playing childish games. She had only agreed to attend school because of her parents. As expected, she found the other children too immature—except for this pink, bubbly little girl in front of her, who was oddly intriguing.
Lu Ningwan looked at the girl gazing at her so expectantly and teased,
“How yummy is it?”
Tiantian’s eyes widened. Lu Ningwan was already very fair-skinned, but when she smiled, she looked like a little princess. Tiantian was momentarily stunned before nodding vigorously,
“Super yummy! Tiantian loves them!” she chirped, pitching her voice like a soft milk bun to sell the custard buns in her arms.
Lu Ningwan laughed and took the bunny lunchbox from her.
“Well then, if Tiantian says they’re good, I’ll give it a try.”
She opened the box, wiped her hands with a tissue, picked up a bun, and took a bite.
Just after her first swallow, Tiantian leaned forward eagerly.
“Xiao Lu-jiejie, is it yummy? Do you like it?”
Lu Ningwan smiled at her.
“It’s delicious. Thank you, Tiantian. I really like it.”
Tiantian let out a breath of relief and grinned ear to ear.
“Xiao Lu-jiejie, you can take the rest home. Just give the bunny box back to Tiantian tomorrow~”
“Thank you, Tiantian,” Lu Ningwan said with a soft smile.
Tiantian smiled shyly in return. She had wanted to be friends with Lu Ningwan since the girl first arrived in class. Her eyes had lit up the moment she saw her. But Lu Ningwan rarely spoke to other children and usually kept to herself with a book. Eventually, most kids gave up trying.
Not Tiantian though. She remained interested and made efforts to talk to her every day. Even if Lu Ningwan only replied with a few words, Tiantian still felt happy. And now that she had accepted her buns, Tiantian couldn’t stop smiling.
That afternoon, Lu Ningwan’s nanny, Zhang Guiping, came to pick her up. On their way home, Lu Ningwan pulled out the bunny lunchbox from her backpack.
“Aunt Zhang, I want to eat these for dinner. Can you heat them up for me?”
“Sure, sweetie. Where did these buns come from?”
Lu Ningwan thought of Tiantian’s smiling face and the little dimple on her cheek.
“A sweet little girl gave them to me,” she replied.
Zhang Guiping chuckled. Little Lu might act like a tiny grown-up sometimes, but she was still adorable.
Because Lu Ningwan had accepted her custard buns, Tiantian was in high spirits all day. Even when Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan came to pick her up, she was still humming nursery rhymes in the car.
Shen Xian couldn’t help but laugh.
“Tiantian, what’s got you so cheerful? Did your teacher praise you today?”
Tiantian kicked her little legs and said happily,
“Nope! It was Xiao Lu-jiejie—she said my custard buns were yummy~”
Shen Xian chuckled.
“Wow, already charming big sisters at age four, huh?”
Lin Qinghan gently swatted her.
“Stop teasing her.”
“I’m not~” Tiantian said proudly. “Xiao Lu-jiejie really liked them. All thanks to me!”
Lin Qinghan smiled warmly.
“Yes, all thanks to Tiantian. You’re the best.”
Satisfied, Tiantian nodded in agreement.
Shen Xian, meanwhile, was driving and pouting slightly. She was, if she were honest, a little jealous. Tiantian had only known this new girl for a few days, but now she talked about her all the time. She was way more attentive to her than to Li Mengmeng.
Two days later, the kindergarten held a parent-child activity in the afternoon. Lin Qinghan took time off to join Shen Xian at school.
Among the sea of little heads, they immediately spotted Tiantian. And right beside her sat a girl who looked like a porcelain doll—this must be the famous “Xiao Lu-jiejie” Tiantian was always talking about. Shen Xian had to admit, the little girl was indeed quite pretty. She’d definitely grow up to be a beauty.
Soon, Teacher Zhao asked the parents to sit with their children. Shen Xian noticed Lu Ningwan’s parents nearby. They looked to be in their early thirties, attractive and well-mannered, with a refined presence. No wonder their daughter turned out so poised. Shen Xian looked away thoughtfully.
As Teacher Zhao began announcing the order of performances, the adults seated below looked like lambs awaiting slaughter—most wore expressions that screamed “please don’t pick me.”
One father, red-faced, was onstage attempting a magic trick that was a clear social death—but the kids were absolutely delighted.
Shen Xian sighed and squeezed Lin Qinghan’s hand.
“Qinghan, you’re amazing.”
Lin Qinghan smiled faintly.
“If you know that, then think about how to repay me later.”
Shen Xian chuckled softly, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.
“Don’t worry, I’ll give you a stellar performance tonight.”
Lin Qinghan withdrew her hand and playfully slapped her.
“You’re being ridiculous. That’s not what I meant.”
Shen Xian blinked innocently.
“I only said what you said. If anyone’s got a dirty mind, it’s not me~”
“You’re impossible. I’m ignoring you.” Lin Qinghan said, pulling Tiantian over and nudging Shen Xian aside so Tiantian now sat between them.
After each performance, parents visibly relaxed—as if being done meant they’d survived the worst. Soon, it was Tiantian’s family’s turn. Lin Qinghan stood and walked toward the stage. Shen Xian and Tiantian gave her a thumbs-up.
Lu Ningwan, who hadn’t been paying much attention, perked up when she heard the teacher call Tiantian’s name. She looked up and saw Lin Qinghan—beautiful and cool, with soft curls cascading over her shoulders. No wonder Tiantian was so pretty; her mother was stunning too.
Lin Qinghan sang an English song into the mic. Even though the microphone quality was poor, it couldn’t mask the lazy elegance of her voice—crisp yet sultry, effortlessly captivating. When the song ended, the room was silent for a few seconds before applause erupted.
Back at her seat, Shen Xian promptly moved Tiantian to her right and took the spot between mother and daughter.
Lin Qinghan noticed Shen Xian’s little maneuver and smiled without saying anything, simply taking the seat on her other side. As soon as she sat, Shen Xian held her hand and whispered,
“Qinghan, I didn’t know you could sing like that. You never even sang for me. Tonight, I want a private performance.”
Lin Qinghan glanced at her amusedly.
“Alright. I’ll sing just for you.”
Shen Xian finally felt satisfied.
That night, after coaxing Tiantian to sleep, Shen Xian climbed into bed and clung to Lin Qinghan.
“You promised to sing for me. No backing out.”
Lin Qinghan chuckled.
“Alright. Let me shower first and I’ll sing for you after.”
Shen Xian shook her head, looping an arm around her.
“Nope. That’s too much trouble. Let’s shower together. Or I can help you~”
“Who wants your help? Shen Xian—ah, stop…” Before Lin Qinghan could protest further, Shen Xian had already dragged her into the bathroom and pinned her to the wall for a kiss.
Soon, the sound of water filled the bathroom. Steam curled up from the warm droplets falling onto the cold floor, misting over the space in a hazy veil. The scent of pheromones lingered in the air—sweet orange wrapping tightly around osmanthus and well tea, just like the two bodies entwined beneath the shower.
By the time they emerged, Lin Qinghan could barely stand. Shen Xian had to carry her back to bed—just like Lin Qinghan had warned: when it came to showering with Shen Xian, they’d never finish in under half a day.
