Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 76
During an Alpha’s sensitivity period, how could Shen Xian possibly resist the allure of her Omega? Before long, she couldn’t sit still in the living room anymore. Quietly, she crept back into the bedroom, glancing between the open files on her laptop and the sleeping Lin Qinghan beside her.
But Shen Xian had clearly underestimated how much she was drawn to Lin Qinghan. Not even thirty minutes had passed before she found herself unable to concentrate. She set the computer aside and gently wrapped her arms around Qinghan from behind. Her scent gland rested right in front of Shen Xian’s face, and the subtle fragrance of osmanthus and well tea filled the air. Shen Xian couldn’t help but press a soft kiss to Qinghan’s scent gland.
The light touch on her sensitive gland made Lin Qinghan furrow her brows in her sleep. She quickly stirred, and with only the two of them home, it didn’t take long for her to realize who was causing trouble.
Still half-asleep, she murmured in a soft, coquettish tone, “Shen Xian, didn’t we agree you’d stay in the living room? Don’t mess around.”
Shen Xian backed off slightly, though her arms around Lin Qinghan’s waist stayed firm. She kissed the tip of her ear and coaxed, “I just didn’t want to be alone. And you smell so good, Qinghan.”
Lin Qinghan knew she meant her pheromones, yet her ears still flushed red. She gave a few half-hearted squirms before giving up, instead turning around to lie comfortably in Shen Xian’s arms. She poked Shen
Xian’s cheek and said, “Hugging is fine, but nothing more. Got it?”
Shen Xian nodded with a grin, but her lips were already descending to Qinghan’s. Their noses brushed, soft and tender. Shen Xian was convinced—Qinghan clearly enjoyed this too. Her mouth said “no,” but her actions…
Several minutes later, Shen Xian finally pulled back slightly. Lin Qinghan, breathless and flushed, nestled against her chest and whispered in a voice full of bashful complaint, “You said you’d only hold me…”
Shen Xian chuckled. “I never promised. I just really missed you, Qinghan.”
Qinghan playfully lifted Shen Xian’s chin and kissed her once, then leaned back. “What do you mean miss me? I’m right here.”
“I know,” Shen Xian said, hugging her tighter. “But I still missed you.”
Lin Qinghan was only teasing, of course. She knew how difficult an Alpha’s sensitivity period could be, so she laughed lightly and said, “Alright, fine. You can hold me. Anyway… Tiantian’s not home today.”
Shen Xian didn’t want to tire Qinghan out further, so she behaved. She held her close and mindlessly scrolled through her phone. Soon enough, Qinghan drifted back to sleep in her arms.
Feeling a little bored, Shen Xian checked her messages and saw a new one from Xiao Yue:
Xiao Yue: President Shen, there’s news from the public security bureau. Kang Hai and Lu Jianbai are likely to be sentenced. As for Wang Jianhui, the investigation cleared him and he’s been released. Should we terminate his contract?
Shen Xian: Get the legal team involved. I want Kang Hai and Lu Jianbai to receive the maximum punishment. Wang Jianhui’s contract should be terminated by HR as per protocol.
Xiao Yue: Understood, I’ll handle it right away.
Getting rid of Lu Jianbai was a huge relief. The system also informed her that the primary will of this world had been erased, and Lu Jianbai was no longer a threat.
Shen Xian looked down at the sleeping Lin Qinghan and pressed a gentle kiss to the corner of her lips.
It wasn’t until past 4:00 PM that Lin Qinghan slowly woke in Shen Xian’s embrace. Shen Xian gave her a soft kiss on the lips. “Feeling rested?”
Lin Qinghan nuzzled against her. “Mm. You rest now—I’m going to do some laundry.”
Shen Xian put down her phone and followed her. She hugged Qinghan from behind in the bathroom.
Lin Qinghan laughed and gave her a light swat. “What are you doing? Let me finish the laundry and I’ll come back to you. Shen Xian, you—mm…”
Before she could finish, Shen Xian’s lips found hers. The washing machine had just started filling, and Shen Xian’s hands were already working at the buttons of her nightshirt.
Only when she reluctantly pulled away did Lin Qinghan grasp at her loosened clothes. “Hey, I’m trying to do laundry. Can’t it wait?”
“I’m helping you wash your clothes,” Shen Xian teased, kissing her ear. “How can I wash them if you don’t take them off? Might as well toss mine in too.”
Blushing furiously, Lin Qinghan gave up trying to resist. She clung to Shen Xian’s neck and whispered shyly, “Not here. Back to the bedroom.”
Seeing how embarrassed Qinghan was, Shen Xian smiled and scooped her up in a bridal carry—one arm under her back, the other beneath her knees.
By the time they were done, it was already after 8:00 PM. Lin Qinghan lay exhausted in Shen Xian’s arms, unable to believe how much energy Shen Xian still had. They had practically spent the entire day in bed and never actually got up.
Neither was particularly hungry, so Shen Xian made a light yogurt salad. After eating a bit with Qinghan, they finally went back to bed—this time, just to sleep.
On the third day, Shen Xian’s sensitivity period finally ended. It wasn’t until after 9:00 PM that she finished wrapping up things at work. She had been most concerned about the short video project, but it was progressing rapidly— the trial version of the app was already complete. With just a few weeks of testing, it could be released.
Just as she was about to head home, Lin Qinghan called.
“Shen Xian, it’s past nine. Aren’t you coming back yet?”
“I’m on my way,” Shen Xian said with a smile. “You and Tiantian go ahead and sleep. I’ll be home soon.”
Ever since her rebirth, Shen Xian had no longer put work above all else. She only wanted to earn enough to avoid her past mistakes—no need to burn herself out. Spending time with Qinghan and their daughter was what mattered most.
She packed up and drove straight home. It was nearly 10:00 PM, and normally their little one would’ve been fast asleep. But when she walked into the living room, she saw her daughter sitting on the couch, eyes barely open. The moment she spotted Shen Xian, they lit up, and she rushed over with a “da-da-da” of tiny footsteps, launching herself into Shen Xian’s arms.
“Mommy, Tiantian missed you,” she said, rubbing her eyes and yawning as she snuggled close.
Shen Xian’s heart melted. “Mommy missed you too. Work ran late today. Come on, let’s get you to bed, okay?”
The little one nodded, tugging at her tiny pigtail. “I want Mommy and Mama to tuck me in together.”
Shen Xian changed out of her shoes and laughed. “Alright. Let’s go to bed, then.”
She carried her daughter back to her room and tucked her in. “Tiantian, Mommy’s going to change clothes really quickly, okay? Then I’ll stay with you.”
Tiantian yawned again and nodded. “Okay. I’ll wait.”
By the time Shen Xian returned, the little one was already fast asleep, head tilted, resting peacefully on her pillow.
She gently brushed a hand over her daughter’s cheek and said to Lin Qinghan, “Out like a light?”
Lin Qinghan smiled at their child. “She’s been tired all night. But she insisted on waiting for you.”
Shen Xian leaned down to kiss her daughter’s forehead. “I missed her too. Tomorrow’s Sunday. Let’s take her out for a nice day.”
Lin Qinghan nodded. “Alright.”
Looking at her daughter’s serene face, Shen Xian noticed that the string of floating numbers above her head—her affection meter—had quietly ticked up to 100. Children were simple. Whoever treated them well earned their love. Thankfully, Shen Xian hadn’t come back too late in this lifetime.
—
The next morning, Shen Xian was the one who woke Tiantian up. The little girl had missed her terribly, and the moment she opened her eyes, she threw herself into Shen Xian’s arms.
“Mommy, cuddle~”
Shen Xian couldn’t stop smiling. “Alright, let’s cuddle. But first, let’s get you dressed.”
Since Lin Qinghan had been the one looking after Tiantian the previous night, she wasn’t feeling as clingy. Seeing mother and daughter wrapped up in each other, she chuckled and went off to make breakfast.
After helping Tiantian get dressed and washed up, breakfast was ready. The three of them sat at the table for a cozy family meal.
Shen Xian asked, “Tiantian, how was your stay at Grandma’s house?”
“Grandma made lots of yummy food! It was nice, but I missed Mommy and Mama~”
Shen Xian laughed. “Such a sweet talker. We missed you too. Want to go out and have fun later?”
“Yes!” The moment she heard “go out,” Tiantian lit up. Even her appetite grew.
A new street of food stalls had just opened near Linhai’s pedestrian district—full of delicious snacks and lively atmosphere. Perfect for kids. Shen Xian decided to take Tiantian there for a visit.
After parking in the underground garage, Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan each took one of Tiantian’s hands. Lin Qinghan reminded her to hold on tight, warning that a big bad wolf might take her away if she let go.
Tiantian nodded solemnly, tugging at her tiny pigtail.
The snack street was bustling, with rows of treats Tiantian had never seen before. Every few steps, she’d stop in front of a stall and call out in her soft, sticky voice: “Mommy! Mama!”
Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan’s hearts melted every time. Other than spicy or heavy foods not suitable for a child, they bought her almost everything she wanted. To prevent overindulgence, Tiantian was only allowed a few bites of each treat, with the rest split between her two moms.
At one stall selling osmanthus cakes, Shen Xian got a spoon and divided one into bite-sized pieces. She gave one to Tiantian, who wiggled her head in delight. But when she opened her mouth for another bite, Shen Xian fed the next piece to Lin Qinghan instead.
Tiantian’s mouth was still open, eyes wide with shock. Mommy didn’t give it to her?
She pouted adorably, looking wronged, which made both Shen Xian and Lin Qinghan burst into laughter. Lin Qinghan swatted Shen Xian’s arm, chuckling, “Stop teasing her. Give Tiantian her bite.”
Only then did Shen Xian feed another piece to their daughter. Tiantian, of course, forgot all about it as soon as she had food in her mouth.
They passed a fried chicken skewer stall, and Tiantian stopped in her tracks again. Shen Xian didn’t even need to ask and promptly got her a skewer—just one.
By the time they reached the end of the street, the family of three was full and happy.
