Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 75
That night, Shen Xian felt a bit off. It wasn’t until she lay down in bed that she realized her susceptibility period had arrived. Lin Qinghan noticed her low spirits, checked the date on her phone, and immediately understood what was going on.
Shen Xian searched through the nightstand drawer for a while but couldn’t find any suppressants. She was certain she had bought a whole bunch and stored them there.
Lin Qinghan’s ears flushed slightly. She had moved those suppressants herself—after all, who still uses those when they already have a partner? Watching Shen Xian rummage around cluelessly, Lin Qinghan found herself both amused and exasperated.
After checking several times and still finding nothing, Shen Xian finally asked, “Qinghan? Did you see where my suppressants went? I swear I left them in this drawer.”
Lin Qinghan calmly nodded. “I know. I threw them away.”
“You threw them away?” Shen Xian was stunned. They hadn’t even expired. Why would she do that?
Seeing Shen Xian’s shocked expression, Lin Qinghan couldn’t help but laugh. “You already have an Omega, right here with you. Why would you still need suppressants? Aren’t I better than any suppressant?” she added, her cheeks tinged with red.
Even Shen Xian, who often teased Lin Qinghan, couldn’t stop her ears from turning red. This was the first time Qinghan had openly admitted she was Shen Xian’s Omega. The joy in Shen Xian’s heart bubbled over, and she grinned. “Yes, I’ve got my Mrs. Shen now.”
Then, something occurred to her. “Qinghan… but I didn’t buy any contraceptives.”
When fully marked partners engage in intimacy during a susceptibility period, there’s a high risk of pregnancy. Shen Xian thought of how hard and dangerous pregnancy could be—she didn’t want Lin Qinghan to suffer again. Besides, they already had their sweet little one, and she was absolutely perfect.
Shen Xian sat up to go buy some suppressants, but Lin Qinghan stopped her, pressing her arms gently against Shen Xian’s shoulders. The flush on her cheeks hadn’t faded. “It’s fine if we don’t have any. I don’t mind. Let’s just go with the flow.”
As she spoke, Lin Qinghan stepped closer, looping her arms around Shen Xian’s neck. They were so close that just a tiny tilt forward would let her kiss Shen Xian.
The air began to fill with the faint scent of osmanthus and well tea. Shen Xian, already in her susceptibility period, was in no state to resist her partner’s pheromones. Wrapping her arms around Lin Qinghan’s waist, she leaned in and kissed her. Because of the pheromone flare-up, Shen Xian’s sweet orange scent became especially intense, enveloping Lin Qinghan and leaving her breathless, her body turning faintly soft and flushed with fine beads of sweat.
Shen Xian struggled to suppress the physical discomfort of her susceptibility, gently pulling back and panting, “Qinghan… don’t. Pregnancy is really tough. I don’t want you to suffer again. Let’s not do this.”
But Lin Qinghan didn’t loosen her embrace. She gently nuzzled Shen Xian’s neck, and when she looked up and saw Shen Xian’s flushed face—strained from restraint—her heart ached. Even in this moment, Shen Xian was still thinking of her. If it were another Alpha, wouldn’t they have already lost control?
She gently eased Shen Xian backward until the bed was directly behind her. Then, with a light push, Shen Xian sat down on the edge. Lin Qinghan, cheeks still burning, straddled her lap, kissed her softly, and smiled. “Silly. Who tries to endure their susceptibility period like that? And Tiantian’s all alone—shouldn’t we give her a sibling? If it’s our child, I don’t think it’ll be too hard.”
Saying this, Lin Qinghan leaned in and kissed her again. Afraid Shen Xian would try to resist, she began unbuttoning her shirt, her kisses full of gentle insistence. It was the first time Shen Xian had seen Qinghan take the initiative like this. The mingling of their pheromones in the air grew stronger, gradually drowning out any last trace of Shen Xian’s rationality.
Shen Xian tightened her arms around Lin Qinghan, carefully easing her down onto the bed. But the susceptibility period surged like a volcano, igniting every ember into a roaring blaze. Her sweet orange pheromones flared uncontrollably, encircling Lin Qinghan’s tea-scented ones, coaxing them gently. Soon, Lin Qinghan’s scent began to tremble, melting into a soft pool of spring water within the embrace of Shen
Xian’s pheromones.
It was only the first day of Shen Xian’s susceptibility period, so her energy was especially high. It wasn’t until well into the night that the two finally fell asleep. Shen Xian, feeling that burning tension finally ease, looked at Lin Qinghan—exhausted after the long night—and felt both heartache and admiration. Qinghan had looked so beautiful being that bold and vulnerable.
Getting up, Shen Xian dressed and gently wiped Lin Qinghan down with a warm towel before taking a shower herself.
Around 7 a.m., Shen Xian texted Xiao Yue, letting her know she wouldn’t be coming to the office for the next couple of days and to send any urgent matters over email. Then she called Fang Jinglan. “Mom, I’m in my susceptibility period. Things are a little inconvenient for Qinghan and me. Can you come pick up Tiantian and let her stay with you for a few days? Maybe take her to kindergarten this morning?”
Fang Jinglan could barely contain her glee. “I understand, I completely understand. Don’t worry about a thing—just rest. I’ve got a spare key to your place. I’ll catch a cab right now. You two sleep in, I’ve got Tiantian.”
Shen Xian blushed at her mother’s teasing. She hadn’t even said anything, and her mom already “understood everything”?
After sorting that out, Shen Xian also called Lin Qinghan’s supervisor to request a day off for her. Qinghan was still fast asleep in her arms, and Shen Xian pressed soft kisses into her hair, reluctant to move. Alphas in their susceptibility period were naturally clingy with their Omegas, and Shen Xian especially wanted Qinghan by her side—forever, if possible.
Roughly twenty minutes later, Fang Jinglan arrived. Seeing the bedroom door still tightly closed, she chuckled and made her way quietly to Tiantian’s room.
The little one had just woken up and was still sitting on the bed, rubbing her eyes when she saw her grandmother walk in. She blinked, confused. This wasn’t Grandma’s house. Grandma hadn’t come over last night, so how…?
“Grandma?” Tiantian called out in confusion, her little face full of puzzled questions.
“Yes, sweetheart, Grandma’s here! I’ll take you to school today, okay?” Fang Jinglan said with a warm smile.
Tiantian nodded but asked, “Okay… but Mama and Mommy are home. Why aren’t they taking me?”
Fang Jinglan explained gently, “Your moms are very busy with work these days and might not have time to take care of you. You’ll come stay with Grandma for two or three days, alright?”
Tiantian didn’t really understand why adults always had so much work. She remembered last time when Mama was sitting on Mommy’s lap and said she was ‘working’ too. She pouted slightly but still nodded obediently. “Okay. I’ll go with Grandma~”
“That’s my good girl. Come on, let Grandma help you get dressed,” Fang Jinglan said, dressing her and helping her wash up. There wasn’t time for breakfast at home, so she took Tiantian out for something to eat.
Tiantian wasn’t picky and had a great appetite. Fang Jinglan took her for donkey meat flatbreads and millet porridge. The little one’s cheeks were stuffed like a chipmunk as she praised the food, “Donkey meat is yummy!”
Fang Jinglan laughed at her granddaughter’s adorable eating face. “Good! Eat as much as you like, my sweet girl.”
Tiantian nodded her tiny head vigorously and tackled the flatbread—which was nearly bigger than her face. The shop owner watched and couldn’t help praising, “Ma’am, your granddaughter is absolutely adorable.”
Hearing the compliment, Tiantian immediately looked up and replied cheerfully, “Thank you, Auntie~” She was much more outgoing now. Unlike before, she didn’t hide behind adults when praised. She could even hold a little conversation with strangers now.
When Lin Qinghan woke up, she was still cradled in Shen Xian’s warm embrace. Shen Xian had one arm around her and was scrolling through her phone with the other.
She snuggled closer, glanced at the time on Shen Xian’s screen, and grew a little embarrassed—it was already past nine, and neither of them had even gotten dressed yet.
Shen Xian put her phone aside when she saw Lin Qinghan was awake and asked gently, “Want to sleep a little longer? Are you still tired?”
Lin Qinghan wasn’t embarrassed for once. She rubbed her cheek against Shen Xian’s neck and murmured, “Mm, still tired. You went at it for so long last night… I’m sore all over.” Her voice was husky and tinged with playful complaint.
Shen Xian soothed her softly. “My fault. You were so proactive last night—I just couldn’t resist. I love you too much.”
Lin Qinghan chuckled, lightly punching her shoulder and giving her a quick kiss on the corner of her lips. “You and your endless excuses.”
“How about I give you a massage?” Shen Xian asked, reaching for her waist, only for Lin Qinghan to swat her hand away.
“Massage? If I let you touch me now, I won’t get out of bed for the rest of the day.” Lin Qinghan pinched her cheek.
Shen Xian cuddled her and coaxed, “Then should I carry you to the shower?”
Lin Qinghan laughed and gave her a look. “Don’t. Otherwise, we’ll end up showering all day.” She then nuzzled against Shen Xian’s neck and said with a smile, “Shen Xian, I’m hungry. Go make breakfast.”
Shen Xian kissed her lips. “Okay. What do you feel like eating? How about some noodles?”
Lin Qinghan nodded. “Anything’s fine. I’m starving. I’ll go take a quick shower.”
While Lin Qinghan was in the bathroom, Shen Xian found herself missing her already. Must be the susceptibility period, she thought. I can’t really be this clingy normally, can I?
By the time Lin Qinghan came out, Shen Xian had already prepared breakfast—two bowls of seafood noodles made with leftover shrimp from yesterday.
As they sat at the table, Lin Qinghan finally realized something. “Shen Xian, where’s Tiantian? Did you ask Mom to pick her up?”
Shen Xian nodded. “She’ll stay at Mom’s for a few days. We’ve got our hands full right now.”
“You dressed her before she left?” Lin Qinghan asked between bites.
Shen Xian shook her head. “Nope. I got up with you.”
Lin Qinghan nearly choked on her noodles. After coughing a few times, she said in disbelief, “You didn’t even get up when Mom came over to pick her up?”
“I was holding you and couldn’t bear to get up. Mom won’t blame us—she said she understands,” Shen Xian replied with a grin.
Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain in her foot. Lin Qinghan had kicked her under the table.
“Ow—Qinghan, why’d you do that?” Shen Xian looked at her, full of grievance.
“You’re the worst! You didn’t even wake me up when Mom came. So embarrassing,” Lin Qinghan huffed.
Shen Xian hurried to soothe her. “Qinghan, it’s fine! She’s family—don’t worry so much.”
“You stay in the living room today. Don’t disturb me while I catch up on sleep. Or I’m bringing Tiantian back this afternoon,” Lin Qinghan warned, raising her brows.
Shen Xian pouted. “Fine…” She had been planning to cuddle Qinghan while working, but that plan was clearly doomed now.
Only then did Shen Xian realize just how clingy she’d become. The thought of being alone in the cold, empty living room made her suddenly not want to say another word.
Lin Qinghan, however, was in a much better mood. Serves her right for not waking me up when Mom came, she thought smugly.
