Transmigrated into a Classic Dog-Blood Drama as the Scummy Alpha - Chapter 69
“You don’t want to help us? Fine. We’ll go find Shen Xian ourselves. We already know where her company is. Don’t blame us if we make a scene!” Jiang Fang’s voice suddenly lost its pitiful tone and rose in volume.
“Hongli, let’s go. We’ll get the money from Shen Xian. She divorced our daughter and is still living with her—how is that acceptable?”
“No—don’t!” Lin Qinghan reached out to stop them, but Jiang Fang shoved her harshly to the ground. Her palms and knees were scraped raw, but she barely noticed the pain. She scrambled up and tried to chase them, only to see the two already speeding off in a taxi.
Panicked, Lin Qinghan quickly hailed another taxi and rushed to Shen Xian’s company, but she still arrived too late. Her parents’ voices could already be heard shouting at the entrance.
“Where’s Shen Xian? Get her out here!” Jiang Fang wailed. “Living with our daughter but leaving us to die—how can she live with herself? Help us, please! We’re dying!”
Jiang Fang threw herself dramatically on the ground in front of the company’s entrance, crying and shouting with all her might.
Lin Qinghan arrived just in time to see her mother wailing, and quickly went to pull her up. But Jiang Fang only cried louder, “Oh, a daughter who sides with outsiders! I only wanted to ask Shen Xian for a bit of money! Your father and I are dying, and you won’t even let us beg her for help. You just want us in the grave so you and Shen Xian can live happily ever after, is that it?”
Her shrill cries rang through the lobby. Most of the nearby employees could hear her.
The front desk staff immediately called Shen Xian. “President Shen, there’s an older couple—around their fifties—outside, crying and demanding to see you. Your wife is here too.”
Shen Xian was about to tell security to handle it, thinking it was another scene, but when she heard Lin Qinghan was outside too, she realized who it was. She dropped the documents in her hand and hurried out.
From a distance, she could already see Jiang Fang sprawled on the ground, while Lin Qinghan stood by helplessly, eyes red and hands trembling.
Shen Xian rushed over. “What’s going on here?”
“Shen Xian, finally! You have to help us—we’re Qinghan’s parents!” Jiang Fang wailed dramatically. “We’ve contracted HIV! I know you’re divorced from Qinghan, but you’re still living together! You can’t turn your back on us. You’re taking our daughter from us and letting us die!”
Her voice was loud, dramatic, and paired with an occasional dry sob.
Shen Xian frowned slightly. “If there’s something to discuss, then talk. What is this? A threat? I despise being coerced. You’ve already experienced what I do to people who cross the line.”
Her voice wasn’t loud, but Jiang Fang instinctively shrank back. After all, the last time she’d ended up detained was thanks to Shen Xian.
Sniffling, Jiang Fang didn’t dare cry so brazenly anymore. With Lin Hongli’s help, she slowly stood up and said, “Daughter-in-law, we truly didn’t know what to do. Qinghan wouldn’t let us tell you. But how much can she earn a month? I heard treating this illness is extremely expensive. Please, help us. We won’t make a fuss anymore.”
Shen Xian was about to respond politely, considering they were Qinghan’s parents, but Lin Qinghan cut in first, “Dad, Mom, this is our business. Please don’t drag Shen Xian into this anymore. Shen Xian, don’t worry about me from now on.”
Then she turned and ran out of the company lobby, her eyes red.
Shen Xian wasn’t the same person she used to be. She didn’t owe Qinghan anything. Yet here she was being dragged down again. Her parents never remembered her when things were good—only when things went wrong did they suddenly remember they had a daughter.
Qinghan felt like her chest was being pierced by a blunt blade. Shen Xian had finally started her own company, and their lives were slowly improving—so why did problems like this keep coming?
She was overwhelmed. All she could think of was getting away.
Her vision blurred with tears as she frantically pressed the elevator button, hoping to find somewhere to calm herself. But the elevator was slow. Shen Xian’s voice was already calling behind her. Qinghan had no choice but to push open the stairwell door and rush down.
Shen Xian chased after her. Lin Qinghan’s condition was clearly not good—her limbs were shaking from anger and stress. Shen Xian had never said she wouldn’t help. Why did her parents have to act like this? Did they ever really treat Qinghan like a daughter?
Qinghan’s legs were weak, so she couldn’t move quickly. Shen Xian soon caught up, grabbing her wrist and pressing her gently against the wall at the stairwell landing. One arm blocked her escape, while the other wiped away her tears gently.
“It’s okay, Qinghan. I’m here. Everything will be alright. Just breathe. Don’t think too much,” Shen Xian soothed.
Qinghan bit her lip hard before forcing the words out, “Shen Xian, thank you for taking care of me all this time. But we’re not right for each other. Let’s break up.”
She tried to push Shen Xian away.
But Shen Xian didn’t budge. One hand remained on the wall, the other circled Qinghan’s waist tightly. “Qinghan, don’t say that. You don’t really mean it, do you? Are you saying this just because you think your family will drag me down?”
Qinghan struggled with all her might, but couldn’t move Shen Xian an inch. “No. I just don’t love you anymore. Please stop caring about me.”
Shen Xian simply hugged her tighter and murmured, “No. No matter what happens, I won’t abandon you. You’re the only person I love. You’re my future wife, Qinghan. I won’t let you go.”
Her words shattered Qinghan’s last line of defense. She’d been trying to hold back her tears, but now she sobbed into Shen Xian’s shoulder uncontrollably.
Shen Xian held her close, gently stroking her back. “We have a whole lifetime ahead of us, Qinghan. This is just the beginning. Don’t ever say breakup again, okay? I’m clingy. I can’t live without you.”
Her gentle voice whispered at Qinghan’s ear, but the more she tried to comfort her, the harder Qinghan cried. Shen Xian could feel her shirt soaked through, heart aching with every sob.
Between sniffles, Qinghan wrapped her arms around Shen Xian’s waist, her voice trembling. “There will be so many more problems with my family. Lin Zhixin isn’t a good person. I can ignore him, but my parents… They might not treat me like a daughter, but I can’t pretend they don’t exist. And now with them being sick… Shen Xian, I really don’t want to drag you down. You’ve started a company. You’re young, successful. You could find someone with a better background, a better personality. Please, don’t waste your time on me.”
But even as she said it, her heart ached. The more she tried to push Shen Xian away, the more it hurt.
Shen Xian sighed, whispering softly by her ear, “But even the best people in the world aren’t you, Qinghan. Across two lifetimes, I’ve only ever loved you. Please don’t be so cruel to push me away. No matter how beautiful or gentle someone else is, if they’re not you, I won’t even spare them a glance. And I’m not afraid of trouble. As long as we’re together, we can handle anything. I won’t give you up over external circumstances.”
Qinghan clung tighter to Shen Xian’s waist, sniffling. “You’re such an idiot.”
Shen Xian smiled faintly, relieved that Qinghan had stopped talking about breaking up. She loosened her embrace slightly, wiped Qinghan’s tears, and kissed her on the forehead.
“And anyway,” she added, “things might not be as bad as we think. HIV isn’t that easily transmitted. The virus loses activity within seconds once it leaves the body. We won’t know anything until a proper test is done. And even if your parents really are infected, there’s a wellness center in Linhai that specializes in treating and caring for HIV patients. The environment is excellent. We can let professionals take care of them.”
Qinghan nodded. Shen Xian made sense—she’d been so panicked earlier, she forgot to even ask if her parents had been formally diagnosed.
“But,” Qinghan said softly, “if it really is that illness… those wellness centers must be really expensive.”
Shen Xian kissed her gently on the ear. “Don’t worry about money. Your wife knows how to make money now. Qinghan, I’m your wife. Everything I have is yours. Don’t separate things so clearly—it hurts me.”
Qinghan was much calmer now. She was still clutching the hem of Shen Xian’s jacket. Her scraped palm throbbed faintly, and she let out a soft hiss of pain.
Alarmed, Shen Xian quickly took her hand, seeing the coin-sized scrape still oozing blood. Her heart clenched. “What happened? Are you hurt anywhere else?”
Qinghan pursed her lips. “When they insisted on seeing you, I tried to stop them. Mom shoved me, and… well, this happened.” The more she spoke, the heavier her heart felt. Her own parents treated her like that, while Shen Xian…
“Does it hurt? Let’s get you cleaned up. I have a first-aid kit in my office.” Shen Xian tugged her gently.
Qinghan didn’t move. She looked at Shen Xian, guilt in her eyes. “Shen Xian, I’m sorry my parents caused such a scene and embarrassed you in front of your staff.”
Shen Xian leaned down and kissed her lightly on the lips, murmuring, “Qinghan, you never need to apologize to me. I’ll never blame you. And this has nothing to do with you—don’t overthink it. Just trust your
Mrs. Lin, okay? She’ll take care of everything.”
Qinghan stepped forward, wrapped her arms tightly around Shen Xian’s waist, and nuzzled into her neck. “Shen Xian, thank you. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for staying by my side.”
Shen Xian lowered her gaze, full of tenderness, and kissed her softly near the lips. “No, Qinghan. I should be the one thanking you. I love you.”
