Transmigrated as the Vampire Alpha of the Omega Heroine - Chapter 35
The way he called her made her heart itch, and the person calling her that way made her heart itch even more.
The door behind them was being pounded loudly by the doctors outside, but Gu Li paid no heed.
The girl on the bed had a flushed face from discomfort, her oversized school jacket discarded on the floor at some point. The soft pink hoodie she wore underneath made her neck appear even paler. Propped against the pillow at the headboard, she struggled to lift her head and look at Gu Li.
Having called out “sister” without receiving a response, she shrank back slightly, pouting in grievance, only to be overwhelmed once more by the intense waves of heat surging from the nape of her neck. Driven by instinct, she tried to appease the alpha before her: “Doesn’t Sister Gu like the scent of milk tea?”
Her small hands, previously tucked into the sleeves of her hoodie, now moved to the back of her neck, where her scent glands were releasing pheromones uncontrollably. A richer, more enticing fragrance slowly drifted into Gu Li’s senses.
Gu Li watched as Jiang Nian tilted her neck slightly, her delicate omega fingers tracing a circle over the scent gland before tapping it lightly as if the gland itself were pleading along with its owner. “The milk tea here is the sweetest,” she murmured.
Unlike the straightforwardness of before, her tone now carried a sticky-sweet coquetry laced with sincerity. The sound of her voice drowned out the doctors’ shouts outside, filling the isolation room, the only space occupied by an alpha. Gu Li felt her canines lengthen instinctively.
She did, indeed, love the fragrance of milk tea.
Unlike the uncontrollable urges brought on by her vampiric episodes, another instinct was beginning to stir.
And as an alpha, she had little desire to suppress it.
Beneath her scent patch, her own alpha gland pulsed silently, demanding to fulfill its purpose.
Her legs moved as if guided by something beyond her control, her heart utterly ensnared by the girl on the bed. Step by step, she followed the trail of milk tea pheromones laid out for her, advancing toward the feast prepared by those very pheromones.
So intoxicating.
The alpha inhaled deeply, then casually shrugged off her oversized B High School jacket and draped it over the omega’s blanket as if worried she might catch a chill.
Her entire body relaxed, her mind so at ease that she even picked up the discarded clothes from the floor, folded them neatly, and placed them over the back of a chair. Only after finishing did she snap out of her daze, pausing mid-motion. She sat down on the chair, hands resting primly on her knees, posture as proper as a schoolchild’s.
“Can you endure it on your own?”
The response was an even more pitiful look from Jiang Nian.
Gu Li’s fingers twitched slightly where they rested on her knees.
The scent of milk tea grew thicker.
“Then… can I give you a shallow mark?” Out of respect for the omega’s autonomy, Gu Li remained seated, not daring to reach out directly, even though she had been granted permission long ago.
The girl, whose gaze had never left her, nodded in reply.
Uncertain, Gu Li pressed a hand to her mouth, confirming the elongation of her canines before standing. Gently, she tucked Jiang Nian’s loose strands behind her ear, then cradled the omega’s neck with both hands. Carefully, she undid her ponytail, using her fingers as a comb to gather the silky hair and sweep it to one side exposing the scent gland at her nape.
To prevent herself from succumbing to vampiric instincts, the alpha took Jiang Nian’s soft hand and pressed it against her own scent gland, whispering gently, “If you sense anything wrong, just pinch me.”
Her serious expression made the omega, weakened by her heat, chuckle silently. Still, she obediently placed her hand on the alpha’s nape, resting it lightly with no intention of actually pinching.
“Don’t take this lightly out of wishful thinking,” the alpha said sternly, clearly distrusting her own unusual state. Yet Jiang Nian complied, pretending she would pinch hard if anything went wrong, though her voice remained tender.
“I’ve got you.”
Those words alone eased the last of Gu Li’s worries.
A hunter preparing to venture out always sharpens her weapons meticulously. The fangs in her mouth were already primed for marking, and she could already taste the scent of her lavender pheromones, rich and cloying, just as her biology teacher had described, the perfect release for a successful mating mark.
Her mind raced through the lessons, the steps as familiar as if she had practiced them countless times.
Just as she had once waited to savor ripe prey, her fingers now traced Jiang Nian’s brows, her palm brushing lightly over fluttering lashes before two fingers settled on the delicate right earlobe. She pinched it playfully, like a child delighted by a newfound toy.
The alpha still wore the birthday gift she had just received a cool, star-shaped bracelet now warmed by her skin. She picked up the smallest star on the chain, its edges deliberately rounded during design, making it resemble more of a star-shaped cookie. Holding two points of the pentagram, she pressed it against the omega’s earlobe.
A faint chill touched the skin.
The star looked almost like an earring, adding a playful charm to the rosy lobe beneath her fingers.
“Twinkle…”
The more she looked at it, the more she adored the makeshift star earring, humming the familiar melody under her breath.
Once the college entrance exams were over, she could take her kitten to buy a pair of real star-shaped clip-ons.
“Elder Sister Gu…” Jiang Nian’s voice, usually sweet and soft, had grown hoarse with discomfort, yet she still murmured the address the alpha loved most.
Omega instincts told her that this form of address had always elicited a positive reaction from the alpha. She tried to pull her hand from Gu Li’s shoulder to cover her own scent gland, but her wrist was immediately caught and pressed back into place. The alpha leaned in, drawing her closer.
The earlobe between her fingers remained captive, like a child endlessly kneading a scrap of dough, shaping it whimsically before decorating it with a favorite trinket.
Jiang Nian’s pleading gaze flickered up, about to protest,
“Be good.”
Only then did the alpha rein in her mischief, taking the omega’s hand from her nape to peel away the suppressant patch over her scent gland together.
The lavender scent hidden beneath the suppressant patch began to spread, intertwining with another aroma in the air. The alpha’s inherently dominant pheromones overwhelmed most of the milk tea fragrance in the atmosphere, and along with it, the owner of those pheromones submitted to the alpha under the influence of her scent.
Jiang Nian’s small hands pressed entirely against Gu Li’s nape, warmth traveling up through her palms to every inch of her skin. The suppressed milk tea pheromones in the air showed faint signs of growing stronger.
She couldn’t speak. The omega, completely dominated by her heat, temporarily forgot the alpha’s previous failed attempts, unconditionally trusting her to lead them out of this predicament.
Gu Li patiently supported her forehead with one hand, slowly approaching the nape that had tilted in submission upon sensing their highly compatible pheromones.
Fragments of biology lessons flashed through her mind.
All the notes she’d taken about being responsible to one’s omega were now being put to use one by one.
Like solving a novel though not particularly difficult problem, first comprehending the question, then beginning to work through it with patience and exploratory delight.
The floral pheromones guided the omega’s gland into readiness.
This top-tier alpha, who could master even challenging subjects like mathematics with ease, truly lived up to the evaluation report Jiang Nian had spent considerable time compiling. Her sharp canines precisely pierced the gland, the influx of pheromones instantly soothing the distressed omega suffering through her heat.
Even the instinctive fear-driven resistance toward alphas was gently dissolved, leaving the omega as pliant as a piece of milk tea flavored marshmallow.
The little milk tea kitten in her arms furrowed her brows, tears of physiological response unconsciously spilling from her eyes, which Gu Li casually wiped away.
The hand that had been resting on her shoulder now lightly traced Jiang Nian’s ear, slowly stroking to help her relax and better receive the alpha’s pheromones.
This shallow marking seemed likely to last quite a while.
Both the omega receiving the mark and the alpha giving it thought so.
The only dissenting opinion came from the retracting canines, just as the flavor reached its most delicious point, Gu Li found her alpha marking fangs suddenly withdrawing, forcing her to swallow both her released pheromones and her own saliva.
It made her choke until tears came to her eyes.
Like a Mercedes-Benz ready to accelerate down the road only to have its engine abruptly cut off, left to swallow the remaining momentum alone.
The omega’s soft nape automatically bore the shallow alpha mark, though its brevity made it somewhat incomplete.
Jiang Nian, barely emerging from her heat-induced haze, was also stunned. But compared to her previous self-reliant experience, she took it in stride at least her alpha now had marking capability, even if the duration was short.
Freshly awakened from heat confusion, she forgot the alpha’s earlier waiting behavior, remembering only the briefness of Gu Li’s marking time.
She mentally grumbled: Must watch that instructional video from the teacher carefully, especially focusing on the latter half about marking. Then I can help Gu Li strengthen this weak subject, and we’ll be able to complete proper markings in the future.
She wrapped her arms around the alpha who found her behavior strange, nuzzling close to the scent gland to gently inhale the pleasant lavender fragrance, compensating for the lack of sufficient pheromones. The heat within her body subsided slightly; one more inhibitor shot from the doctor would get her through this.
Wordlessly, she leaned into the alpha’s embrace without complaint, instead affectionately rubbing against the alpha’s warm earlobe and cheek.
This… was barely acceptable.
There was still room for improvement.
