Transmigrated as the Chongxi Wife of a Critically Ill Young Lady - Chapter 45
Chapter 45
Cen Xia carried her to the bed and tucked her in. She was about to free her arms to tidy up the room, but Jiwanching, in a daze, tugged on her collar and called out, “Xiaxia.”
Cen Xia remained in a leaning position, lowered her head, kissed her between the eyebrows, and whispered, “Be a good girl, Sister. Lie down for a bit. Xiaxia will tidy up the room and be right back, okay?”
Jiwanching tightened her grip on Cen Xia’s collar, showing no intention of letting go.
A smile spilled from Cen Xia’s lips. She gently touched Jiwanching’s nose with her index finger. “Sister, why are you so clingy?”
Jiwanching frowned, her lips pursed.
Cen Xia kissed her between the eyebrows again. “Then I’ll come up and sleep with you, okay?”
Jiwanching’s long lashes fluttered. Her sleepy eyes slowly opened. Her dark pupils were veiled with mist, and a few glistening drops hung on her eyelashes, like a spring flower just waking up, carrying a hint of confusion and curiosity.
They were very close, their noses almost touching. Cen Xia’s heart beat a little faster. She held Jiwanching’s head in her palm and pressed her lips against hers.
Jiwanching was dazed. It took her a while to taste the softness of Cen Xia’s tongue. She responded but couldn’t keep up with her rhythm and quickly went limp. She weakly pushed Cen Xia away.
Cen Xia had no intention of stopping.
Shanqing jumped onto the bed and lay on her back. It bit Cen Xia’s hair and pulled it back hard.
Cen Xia was forced to stop. She carefully placed Jiwanching back on the pillow, then reached her arm back, grabbed the soft skin on the back of Shanqing’s neck, pulled the tiny furball into her arms, and glared at it.
She flipped it over, and just as she was about to bully it, her collar was gently tugged.
Her hand, which was about to rub its belly, paused for a moment. She turned her head to look at Jiwanching.
Jiwanching’s narrow phoenix eyes were squinted, and her deep gaze held a warning.
Cen Xia changed her action and reached out to stroke Shanqing’s head. “You’re such a sweetheart, you’re so cute!”
Shanqing flattened its ears, suddenly escaped from her grasp, and ran to Jiwanching’s arms with its tail between its legs.
Jiwanching let go of Cen Xia’s collar, wrapped her arms around the furball, buried her face in its neck, and smiled fondly.
Cen Xia pouted and complained, “Sister, you just got clean.”
Jiwanching ignored her, holding the cat tightly and inhaling a mouthful of cat hair.
Cen Xia kicked off her shoes, climbed onto the bed, and wrapped her arms around the girl and the cat. She complained under her breath, “Sister only loves Shanqing, not me!”
Jiwanching looked up at her when she heard that. She reluctantly freed one arm, gave Cen Xia a perfunctory pat on the cheek, then pulled her arm back and hugged her cat tightly.
There were a few hairs from Shanqing’s neck left on her lips.
Cen Xia reached out to gently brush them off. She looked at Jiwanching with her starry eyes and asked solemnly, “Do you love Shanqing that much, Sister?”
Jiwanching nodded.
Cen Xia asked again, “Then do you love Shanqing, or do you love Xiaxia?”
Jiwanching’s eyelids blinked. She thought for half a second, then pursed her lips and smiled.
Cen Xia leaned in and kissed her cheek. “Do you love me or do you love Shanqing?”
Jiwanching’s throat bobbed, and bobbed again. She said, “Xiaxia, my… Shanqing, our…”
Cen Xia heard her disjointed words and hugged her happily.
Shanqing was squeezed in the middle. It purred a few times in discomfort, kicked with its hind legs, struggled free, and went around Jiwanching’s pillow to lie by her side, purring again.
With the space in the middle empty, Cen Xia reached out and pulled Jiwanching closer into her arms, pulling the covers over them.
Jiwanching smelled the sweet gardenia scent on her, closed her eyes contentedly, and enjoyed the moment.
Cen Xia rested her chin on Jiwanching’s forehead and called out softly, “Sister.”
Jiwanching curled her arm and wrapped it around Cen Xia’s waist.
Cen Xia said, “Sister, let’s talk a little longer. I love hearing you speak.”
Jiwanching’s throat moved. She said, “Xiaxia,” then a few seconds later, she said, “Xiaxia” again.
Cen Xia said, “Mhmm,” and nuzzled her head into her chest. Her arms tightened around her. After a long while, she slowly said, “Sister, Dr. Yan said the diagnosis is out. We can file a lawsuit now.”
Jiwanching didn’t react.
Cen Xia’s throat tightened. She said with extreme restraint, “Sister, let’s file a lawsuit. I don’t want all the suffering you went through to be for nothing. Let’s file a lawsuit!”
Even though she was trying her best to hide it, there was a slight tremor in her voice. Jiwanching felt a little sad because of her.
She thrashed in Cen Xia’s arms.
Cen Xia let go. They created some distance, their eyes locked on each other. Jiwanching saw the tears in her eyes. She waited for a few seconds, gathered her strength, and struggled to sit up. She leaned in, kissed Cen Xia’s lips, then fell back onto the pillow, exhausted.
They were face to face, their faces very close. Jiwanching tried to speak, to have a conversation with her, but she could only say her name. She called her once.
Cen Xia hid her sadness and smiled sweetly. She called out, “Sister.”
Jiwanching also smiled, her phoenix eyes narrowed into a line. Cen Xia leaned in a little. Their noses were touching, and their lips were almost pressed together. Their warm breaths intertwined, and a feeling of happiness spread around them.
After a long while, Jiwanching gently raised her hand and pushed Cen Xia’s head away. They created some distance.
She looked into her eyes, her slender arms gesturing in the air.
—”Xiaxia, I’m hot!”
Cen Xia heard her and sat up quickly, reaching out to feel her forehead.
Jiwanching pursed her lips and smiled softly.
Her temperature was normal, but Cen Xia was still worried. She picked up her phone from the bedside table, ready to call Dr. Yan.
Jiwanching tugged on her collar, gesturing with her eyes not to call.
Cen Xia’s eyes were filled with anxiety. She coaxed her softly, “Maybe you caught a chill in the bathroom. I’ll ask Dr. Yan to come up and take a look.”
Jiwanching shook her head. A few seconds later, a faint blush spread across her fair face. She raised her arm.
—”Not a chill, I’m just hot.”
Cen Xia didn’t understand.
Jiwanching’s cheeks turned completely red. She quickly gestured with her arms in the air.
—”It won’t be hot if I take off my clothes.”
Cen Xia’s lychee-shaped eyes widened, and then she smiled. “Sister, you’re actually…”
Jiwanching covered her face with both hands, so embarrassed she just wanted to hide.
Cen Xia loved this side of her. She knelt, picked up the person on the bed, buried her face in her neck, kissed her wildly, and laughed, “Let me see, let me see how hot my sister is.”
Jiwanching dodged while enjoying it, her head pulled in. This ticklish feeling was wonderful.
After a while of fooling around, Jiwanching was limp in her arms, her spring water-like eyes looking at her. She even took Cen Xia’s hand and guided it to the buttons of her pajamas.
Cen Xia’s face was beaming. In less than a minute, she had undressed her completely.
Her fair skin was exposed. Cen Xia smiled and asked, “Sister, what about now? Are you still hot?”
Jiwanching’s cheeks were flushed. She gestured with her hands in the air.
—”Xiaxia is also hot.”
Cen Xia: “…”
She deliberately held back her laughter, shook her head, and said, “I’m not hot!”
Jiwanching frowned.
—”You are hot.”
Cen Xia shook her head again. “I’m not hot!”
Jiwanching puffed up like a little pufferfish. She reached out and tugged on Cen Xia’s clothes. Her wrist was weak, and the collar was pulled crooked, but the buttons remained fastened.
After teasing her for a while, Cen Xia stopped. She quickly took off her pajamas and held Jiwanching, hiding under the covers.
Their skin touched. Jiwanching’s body was sweaty, but her legs were as cold as jade. Cen Xia wrapped her own legs around them. Her body was warm, and in a short while, Jiwanching was warmed up.
This was the first time they had slept like this. Just by holding each other, without any other movements, they felt so safe. In a short while, they both fell into a deep sleep.
When they opened their eyes the next day, they were still in the same position as when they fell asleep. Jiwanching’s fan-shaped lashes brushed against her skin. Cen Xia was tickled awake. She gently stroked her back and coaxed her softly, “Sleep a little longer, Sister. It’s so comfortable like this.”
Jiwanching had a good night’s sleep and wanted to get to work. But hearing Cen Xia’s soft tone, she couldn’t help but nuzzle into her arms again.
Cen Xia hugged her, wanting to stay in bed like a child. “Just five more minutes. We’ll get up after five minutes!”
Jiwanching was pressed against her chest, counting the seconds by her breathing.
One, two, three, four, five…
In a short while, she fell asleep again.
Cen Xia also dozed for a bit. Ten minutes later, she gently patted Jiwanching’s back. “Sister, five minutes are up. It’s time to get up!”
Jiwanching was a light sleeper and woke up quickly, but she was a little lazy and didn’t want to get up. She looked at Cen Xia with her head tilted back.
Cen Xia lowered her head and kissed her on the forehead. “Time to get up, little silly.”
Jiwanching pointed to her lips.
Cen Xia obediently kissed her. They cuddled for a while. She helped her get dressed, and after she was all washed up, Jiwanching sat on the sofa with her laptop, discussing the lawsuit with Assistant Liu from the legal department.
Cen Xia tidied up the room. Since they had been living together, she had been the one to clean up. She was very fast and finished in no time.
She wanted to go to the sofa to hug her, but she saw that Jiwanching was in a Tencent meeting.
Tang Shaoyun was talking about tomorrow’s shareholders’ meeting. Jiwanching was listening attentively, her lips pursed. She would occasionally raise her hand and express her thoughts.
In a break, she looked at Cen Xia and raised her hand.
—”Noodle stew.”
Cen Xia nodded and went out to prepare breakfast.
Shanqing jumped onto the sofa from the side. Its chubby body blocked the camera. Jiwanching reached out, held it in her arms, and gently petted it. Shanqing purred happily.
Besides Tang Shaoyun, there were a few other senior managers in the meeting. They were all shocked to see their boss petting a cat, but no one dared to say a word.
After Tang Shaoyun reported on the recent situation, he mentioned Jiang He at the end of the meeting, saying that she wanted to attend the Ji family’s shareholders’ meeting as a client. He couldn’t make the decision, so he asked Jiwanching how to handle it.
She thought for a moment, then raised her hand and agreed.
Tang Shaoyun said to the senior managers, “Then that’s it for now. Everyone, get back to work!”
The guys couldn’t wait to leave the meeting. They thought Jiwanching had also left and started discussing it loudly in the meeting room.
“General Manager Ji actually pets a cat. For a moment there, I almost lost it!”
“Me too. Especially when she was so cold, petting the cat’s belly while listening to us. My stomach hurt from holding in my laughter.”
…
Tang Shaoyun’s face was dark. He kept signaling to them with his eyes, but no one paid attention. The meeting room was full of discussions about the CEO.
Jiwanching wasn’t angry. She curled her lips into a smile where no one could see. Shanqing heard the voices from the computer and meowed.
The other end of the line was instantly quiet. After a long while, Director Tang cautiously asked, “Miss, has the little one grown so big?”
The guys were peeking at Director Tang’s camera from a corner.
General Manager Ji’s eyes were cold. She raised her hand and made a simple gesture for “yes.” After half a second, she added.
—”Its name is Shanqing. It’s the same Qing from Wanqing.”
Tang Shaoyun gave an awkward laugh and said, “That’s a good name!”
Jiwanching finally raised her hand.
—”It’s the crystallization of me and my wife’s love.”
Tang Shaoyun: “…”
The guys who were secretly watching: “!!!”
