Transmigrated as the Chongxi Wife of a Critically Ill Young Lady - Chapter 46
Chapter 46
After showing her affection, Cen Xia hadn’t returned yet. Jiwanching was nestled alone on the sofa, in a great mood.
Shanqing was snuggled up against her chest. She imitated how Cen Xia usually did it, lifting the cat up by its front paws and kissing it on the lips. In no time, her arms were too tired to hold it up, so she was forced to put the little furball down.
It nuzzled her chest with its head, its tail standing straight up like a squirrel’s.
Jiwanching reached out and wrapped it in her arms.
The little ragdoll plopped down, its big blue eyes looking at her.
Jiwanching’s lips curled into a smile. The little furball didn’t seem to react. She remembered that whenever Cen Xia played with it, she would call its name or meow at it. She also wanted to interact with it, so she practiced repeatedly in her mind.
—”Shanqing, Shanqing…”
“Shan… qing…”
Jiwanching’s hoarse throat awkwardly uttered two words, but the little furball still didn’t react. She let out a sigh of disappointment but didn’t want to give up easily, so she tried another way of calling it.
Her thin lips parted several times before a faint “meow” came out. She looked at it with expectation.
As a result, Shanqing not only didn’t play with her but also closed its eyes and started to purr.
Jiwanching: “!!!”
She was furious. She picked up her phone and quickly typed on the screen.
—”Xiaxia, it’s ignoring me crying face”
Cen Xia had one hand in the flour and the other stirring the soup in the pot with chopsticks. When she saw the message, she freed the hand stirring the soup, clicked on it, and sent a voice message: “You little Shanqing, how dare you ignore my sister! I’ll come back and spank you!”
Jiwanching received the message, and a small smile appeared on her lips. She clicked to listen. After listening, she laughed. She turned on the speaker and held the phone close to Shanqing’s ear.
“You little Shanqing, how dare you ignore my sister! I’ll come back and spank you!”
Shanqing’s ears twitched. It rolled over, propped its chin on its front paws, and continued to purr.
Jiwanching was not convinced. She wanted to teach it a lesson, but she couldn’t bring herself to hit it. So, she searched online.
—”How to make a cat realize its mistakes and sincerely reflect and correct them?”
There were many tutorials online. She scrolled down one by one. She saw a method that involved smearing its face with lipstick. Coincidentally, when Cen Xia came back last night, she had thrown her bag on the sofa and hadn’t put it away.
Her mischievous phoenix eyes narrowed. She reached for the bag, took out various lipstick shades, hugged the cat, held it between her legs, cupped its face, and started applying the lipstick.
When Cen Xia opened the door, Jiwanching was very seriously putting makeup on the little kitten. She was carrying the soup and walked toward the coffee table. “Sister, dinner’s ready!”
Jiwanching was racing against time, drawing a mustache on the kitten.
Her back was to the door. Cen Xia only saw her shoulders shaking. She thought she was crying and quickly walked over.
Jiwanching added a small red dot on its forehead, closed the lipstick, suddenly lifted the little furball and faced it toward Cen Xia, tilting her head back and smiling at her.
Cen Xia stared at the gaudily made-up little Shanqing, completely dumbfounded.
Jiwanching’s arms were aching terribly, and they were starting to tremble, but she was still stubbornly holding it up in midair, showing off her masterpiece.
Cen Xia came to her senses. She put down the soup, hurried over, and took the cat. She examined it carefully. “Wow, whose little kitten is this? It’s so cute!”
Jiwanching relaxed her arms and gestured in the air.
—”I drew it!”
Cen Xia, holding the cat, couldn’t help but pounce on her and kiss her on the cheek. “So you drew it, Sister! I knew it!”
Jiwanching’s index finger wiped her lips.
Cen Xia expertly leaned in and kissed her. “You’re amazing, Sister!”
Jiwanching was so happy with the praise, she was like a little fool.
Shanqing was uncomfortable being held in midair by Cen Xia. Its two legs were kicking hard. Cen Xia said, “Quick, Sister, the little furball is about to run away! Hurry and take a picture to remember it!”
Jiwanching took out her phone, quickly opened the camera, and snapped a few photos of the girl and the cat.
Cen Xia held the cat closer. “Let me see, let me see!”
Shanqing’s body twisted in her hands. It made a low, growling “woof” sound.
—”You humans, let this cat go!”
Cen Xia’s fingers tightened. She sat down next to Jiwanching and held the cat out in front of them. “Sister, quick, a selfie with all three of us!”
Jiwanching switched to the front camera and took a few more pictures.
Cen Xia placed the cat between her legs, and the two of them admired the photos they had just taken.
Shanqing was furious. It couldn’t escape. It kept meowing and shaking the flesh on both sides of its whiskers.
They took a few more photos of it. When they were done, Shanqing jumped off the coffee table, tucked its tail between its legs, and hid in its bed, no longer trusting these annoying humans.
The noodle stew on the coffee table had cooled down. Cen Xia brought it over to feed her. Jiwanching ate it in big mouthfuls. In no time, she had finished almost half a bowl of soup.
Cen Xia was afraid she would choke. She patted her back from time to time and said, “Eat slowly, Sister. Shanqing isn’t going to steal it from you!”
Jiwanching opened her mouth and gestured in the air.
—”I need to eat quickly so I can post something.”
Cen Xia smiled fondly and scooped up another spoonful to feed her.
Jiwanching swallowed the spoon along with the food. The porcelain spoon made a clicking sound against her teeth. A small amount of paste was left on the corner of her lips from eating too quickly.
Cen Xia leaned in, licked it off with her tongue, and took it into her own mouth. Her starry eyes looked at her playfully. “Sister, you can’t waste food!”
Jiwanching was stunned for half a second before she understood. She narrowed her eyes and smiled sweetly. After that, every time Cen Xia fed her, she would deliberately leave a little on the corner of her lips, waiting for her to come and lick it off.
The speed of her eating was significantly slower than before.
After the meal, Cen Xia tidied up the dishes. Jiwanching was on the sofa, editing photos. By the time Cen Xia came back, the trending topics on Weibo were once again dominated by the pop diva.
Jiwanching had posted a photo of the three of them. The caption was very short: #Shanqing, our little kitten#
The fans in the comments section screamed.
—”Wow, Jingjing after falling in love is so sweet, I love her so much [kissing face]”
—”Oh my god, my heart is melting because of my sister~”
—”Oh, she’s so cute! My big baby and my little baby are in the same frame!!!”
—”Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I’m so excited!!!!!”
—”My wife is cute, and the little cat is also cute, taking them both home!”
…
One comment was pinned at the top: “The kitten is so cute, why is its name Shanqing confused face?” Below it was Jiwanching’s own reply: The first time I met my wife, she said her name was Cen Xia. Cen with the character for mountain, and Xia for summer.
The replies from the fans followed.
—”Wow, my sister is so doting pink heart”
—”In my next life, I want to be Shanqing adorable face”
—”I can smell the sour stench of love doge”
…
Jiwanching was holding her phone, and Cen Xia was holding Jiwanching. She would kiss her from time to time. The whole room was filled with the sweet scent of love.
The next day was the Ji family’s emergency shareholders’ meeting. After lunch, Yan Shuang came up to give her an IV drip. Jiwanching was in a good mood, so she looked much more energetic than before.
After he had finished, Yan Shuang looked at Cen Xia with a puzzled expression and left with his medical bag.
Jiwanching was scrolling through the photos on her phone, too happy to fall asleep.
Cen Xia leaned on the bed and coaxed her, “Sister, get some sleep. Give me your phone. I’ll take good care of it for you, okay?”
Jiwanching quickly swiped a few times, then locked the screen and obediently handed it over.
Cen Xia was surprised when she took the phone. She thought to herself, “Why is my sweetheart so well-behaved today? She didn’t even ask for a kiss and just gave me the phone.”
However, before she could finish her thought, her collar was gently tugged.
Jiwanching’s phoenix eyes blinked, her lips were pursed, and she looked at her obediently.
Cen Xia guessed that she was up to something again. She asked with a mischievous smile, “What is it, Sister?”
Jiwanching paused for a second and called out, “Xiaxia.”
Cen Xia said, “Mhmm,” and looked at her curiously.
Jiwanching raised her hand and gestured seriously in the air.
—”I’m being so obedient, and you didn’t even kiss me!”
Cen Xia laughed, leaned in, and kissed her. She thought that her sister, like this, was also very cute.
After the kiss, she looked at her with her starry eyes and asked, “Sister, is that enough?”
Jiwanching shook her head.
—”Not enough!”
Cen Xia lowered her head and kissed her again. “What about now, Sister? Is that enough?”
Jiwanching pursed her lips and smiled.
—”Still not enough!”
Cen Xia also laughed and said, “Then how about I kiss you unconscious?”
Jiwanching thought for half a second and nodded.
—”Okay!”
She carefully moved the arm with the IV drip to a safe position, then gently cupped her cheeks. Her soft lips slowly pressed against hers. Her tender, moist tongue slid into Jiwanching’s mouth, greedily taking in her breath, and forcefully exploring every corner.
Jiwanching responded. Her breathing became hot, and her body trembled as she received her love.
They were close, her face against her face. She saw the fine hair on her face, the glistening moisture in her eyes, the blush on her cheeks, and the tiny beads of sweat on her nose…
She held her, kissing her passionately and taking care of her meticulously, until her body was completely soft and her consciousness was hazy.
She placed her on the pillow, looking at her as if she were a precious treasure. After a long while, she murmured, “Sister, I love you so much!”
The next day, at the shareholders’ meeting, the guests filled the room. The Ji couple were putting on a facade of being a united front. Madam Ji greeted the distinguished guests and occasionally glanced at the door, as if she was anxiously waiting for something.
A moment later, a confidant walked in quickly and whispered in her ear.
“Madam, it’s all handled. There was an accident with the car on the way here. The traffic police are on the scene, dealing with it. You can proceed with the meeting without worry.”
Madam Ji nodded, her expression returning to normal.
Chairman Ji turned his head. Their eyes met, and for a moment, they felt a mutual disgust, but they still nodded to each other.
When all the attendees had arrived, the host’s loud voice rang out: “Ladies and gentlemen, good morning! It’s a great pleasure to be here with all of you today. Welcome to the Ji Corporation’s annual emergency shareholders’ meeting…”
“Next, let’s welcome our Chairman, Mr. Ji Teng, to give a summary of the first quarter’s work and the company’s future plans. A round of applause, please!”
Chairman Ji, in a suit, covered up his exhaustion from the past few days. He walked onto the stage with a firm stride and bowed to the audience.
“Good morning, everyone. Thank you, shareholders, for taking time out of your busy schedules to attend our shareholders’ meeting. This year is a crucial year for the Ji Corporation’s development. Our various businesses are growing rapidly, which requires us to keep up with the pace of development. With this mission…”
The chairman’s speech was full of high-sounding words. In the end, he completely omitted any mention of Jiwanching, who owned 40% of the company’s shares.
Pan Hao from the Northwest Tourist Resort Department was the first to ask a question. “Chairman Ji, I’d like to ask, isn’t Ms. Jiwanching the shareholder with the largest number of shares in the group? Why isn’t she here today?”
Chairman Ji’s old face was full of smiles. He glanced at the audience with a guilty conscience and feigned a look of regret and heartache.
“My apologies, everyone. My eldest daughter, Jiwanching, lost her voice and was hospitalized a year ago. Coupled with her psychological burdens, she is now bedridden. With a heavy heart, I want to express my deepest apologies to all of you. After some discussion, we have decided that this meeting will be attended by Ms. Jiwanching’s capable assistant, Mr. Tang Shaoyun, the director of Zhicheng Technology. I ask for your understanding!”
As soon as his words fell, a clear voice came from outside the meeting room.
“Wait a minute!”
“Who said Jiwanching couldn’t attend the meeting?”
