Transmigrated as the Chongxi Wife of a Critically Ill Young Lady - Chapter 36
Chapter 36
When it ended, Jiwanching was as soft as a pool of spring water. Cen Xia looked at her with deep affection and said, “Jiwanching, get better soon. I want you!”
Jiwanching’s cheeks were flushed. She pursed her lips, her wet, watery eyes meeting Cen Xia’s gaze.
Cen Xia couldn’t resist and leaned down to kiss her again.
Jiwanching reached out to push her away, but she didn’t use any force. Her movements were light, amounting to nothing more than a playful tease.
Cen Xia deliberately stopped, tilted her head to look at her, and asked, “Sister, no more?”
Jiwanching was annoyed. She actually loved this feeling and was even more eager to get better so she could give herself completely to Cen Xia.
Cen Xia seemed to have a built-in mind-reading ability. She had guessed her thoughts perfectly. She pouted and said, “Alright, if you don’t want to be kissed, I won’t.”
Just as she was about to sit up straight, Jiwanching reached out and grabbed the collar of her shirt.
Cen Xia looked confused. “What is it, Sister?”
Jiwanching’s face grew even redder. She glared at her with her phoenix eyes, breathing through her nostrils.
Cen Xia raised an eyebrow. “Did Sister change her mind?”
Jiwanching bit her lip, a look of impatience on her face.
Cen Xia held back her laughter and finally kissed her again. She realized that Sister truly loved this feeling. Even being so ill now, she was so keen on this. Once she got better, wouldn’t it be several times a day?
The liquid in the IV bag went from less than half to almost empty. The two of them finally stopped.
Cen Xia tidied up the room and called Yan Shuang to remove the needle.
Dr. Yan walked in with his medical bag. Jiwanching’s face was still flushed. He glanced at them, didn’t say a word, and continued with his task.
Jiwanching looked at Cen Xia, her eyes saying, “You said you’d get justice for me.”
Cen Xia scratched her head and gave an awkward cough. “Dr. Yan, do you have a partner?”
Yan Shuang’s movement of pulling out the needle paused. He looked up at her.
In his memory, this girl had always been very polite.
Jiwanching pursed her lips, holding back a laugh.
Cen Xia coughed again and said, “Sister does. Her partner is me!”
After saying this, she timidly lowered her head. She was still a little intimidated by Dr. Yan, but she couldn’t help it. Her wife’s command was hard to disobey.
Yan Shuang let out a cold “hmm” and said, “I can see that.” After a few seconds, he slowly added, “The Madam’s throat is not in a good state. She just tried to vocalize. It’s best not to be too intense. Too much is as bad as too little.”
Jiwanching: !!!
Cen Xia: …
Yan Shuang maintained the face of a doctor, his expression unchanged as he treated the needle wound on Jiwanching’s hand.
Jiwanching was so furious she looked like a puffer fish. She resisted, trying to pull her hand away from his cotton swab.
Yan Shuang said, “Madam, after so many needle punctures, the wound needs to be treated, or it will get infected.”
Jiwanching suddenly pulled her hand back. Her eyes, like knives, looked at him, gesturing for Yan Shuang to “get out.”
Dr. Yan paused and said, “Alright, Madam, please be careful!”
After saying this, he packed up his medical bag and left, leaving Cen Xia and Jiwanching alone.
Jiwanching looked at her, gesturing quickly with her hands.
—”What did he mean?”
Cen Xia replied, trying to be strong, “He’s just been single for so long. He saw that Sister has someone who loves her, and he’s unbalanced. Sister, don’t overthink it. He has no other meaning. He’s just unbalanced and wants to get back at you on purpose.”
Jiwanching’s narrow phoenix eyes narrowed. She raised her hand.
—”So this is how you get justice for me?”
Cen Xia lowered her head, looking like a child who had made a mistake.
Jiwanching’s eyelashes dropped, then she raised her hand.
—”You coward!”
Cen Xia: …
After scolding her, Jiwanching struggled to sit up from the bed.
Cen Xia quickly went to help her.
Jiwanching gave her a look: Get your paws off me!
Cen Xia awkwardly rubbed her nose but still scooped her into her arms, pressing her soft lips against Jiwanching’s forehead.
Jiwanching pushed her away.
Cen Xia lowered her head and kissed her neck.
Jiwanching felt a tickle and struggled for a while before giving up.
Cen Xia held her close and lingered. Jiwanching loved this way of apologizing.
A little later, Tang Shaoyun called via video. He briefly reported on the progress of their recent collaboration with the Jiang Corporation.
Since General Manager Jiang and her assistant were both hospitalized, the revised plan they had requested was delayed. The company’s business was on hold, and everyone on the smart Internet of Things project team was idle. Other projects were very urgent. Tang Shaoyun discussed with Jiwanching about reassigning the team members to other projects first.
Jiwanching thought for a moment and told him to arrange it according to the situation. In the end, she gestured to Tang Shaoyun.
—”Send me another copy of all the information on Cen Xia from before she married into the family, and her life experiences from childhood to adulthood. The more detailed, the better!”
Tang Shaoyun was surprised. Then he saw a shoulder behind Jiwanching that seemed to belong to the “madam.”
He was very curious but didn’t ask any more questions. He just said, “Yes, Madam. I’ll get it to you as soon as possible!”
After hanging up, Jiwanching looked up at Cen Xia. Seeing that she didn’t object, she slowly raised her hand.
—”When it arrives, you’ll look for clues. I’ll lie down and rest well.”
Cen Xia smiled and teased, “You’ve improved! You know how to take care of yourself now, and you know to report back to me after you’ve done something, hmm?”
Jiwanching pursed her lips. She just wanted to do her part, but she was afraid Cen Xia would think she was putting too much pressure on herself again and hide things from her in the future.
Less than an hour later, Tang Shaoyun sent a 3.59 GB file. It contained all of the original Cen Xia’s experiences, with details as specific as pictures of her with gaps in her teeth from when she was a child.
There wasn’t much information about Cen Xia online, but he knew she was a genius hacker. Jiwanching also asked him for Jiang He’s childhood experiences, which Tang Shaoyun also sent over.
They weren’t the only ones investigating their relationship. The second daughter of the Ji family, Ji Yanqing, was also looking into it. After Madam Ji set up a scheme to frame Jiwanching, Ji Yanqing found out afterward. Then, a piece of news immediately broke online about Jiang He getting into a car crash and suffering a concussion after her car was swerved.
She looked at the accident location, which was on the same road Jiwanching took to get home. She then checked the surveillance footage and found that Jiang He had actually put herself in danger to block the car crash for Jiwanching.
But besides business collaborations, the Jiang family and Ji family didn’t interact much. And just recently, there were rumors from within Zhicheng that General Manager Jiang had been causing a lot of trouble for Jiwanching.
Ji Yanqing knew that a mortal enemy who was always causing trouble would never risk her own life to save her opponent when they were in danger. Unless… she liked Jiwanching.
But how could that be? Jiwanching grew up with her. No one knew her friends and admirers better than she did. Besides, in the past year that she was ill, she was no different from a caged bird. The two of them would have had no way of interacting in life.
Ji Yanqing was completely perplexed. She stared at the videos from the garage to the crash site, rewatching them for several nights. Then, a thought suddenly struck her: Jiang He’s gaze toward Cen Xia was not right.
Perhaps it was a woman’s intuition, but Ji Yanqing immediately guessed that the two of them might be in a relationship.
So, she instructed her subordinates to collect a lot of information on the two of them, which further confirmed her suspicions.
At this very moment, in the office of the Vice President of the Ji Corporation, Ji Yanqing excitedly waved to her subordinate. “Xiao Wu, get ready. We’re going to the hospital!”
Xiao Wu looked at her in a daze.
Ji Yanqing explained, “We’re going to meet with General Manager Jiang!”
Xiao Wu still didn’t understand what Ji Yanqing meant, but she didn’t ask any more questions. She just agreed, “Okay, Madam. I’ll go downstairs and get everything ready!”
Ji Yanqing said, “Just get some gifts and a bouquet of flowers. I’ll wait for you in the garage!”
Xiao Wu agreed and left to prepare.
Ji Yanqing went to her walk-in closet and changed into a vibrant dress. She put on heavy makeup and stepped out in 12-centimeter heels. The two of them drove to the First Municipal Hospital. Ji Yanqing was in a great mood the entire way.
In the hospital room, General Manager Jiang and Assistant Si were sitting cross-legged on a bed, playing poker with bandages wrapped around their heads.
Ji Yanqing knocked on the door, holding a large bouquet of sunflowers, and called out, “General Manager Jiang.”
Jiang He looked toward the door. She searched her memory but didn’t seem to recognize this person. However, based on her outfit, she was certain they were not the same type of people.
General Manager Jiang’s eyes flickered. She said, “Are young girls these days so open? Chasing people all the way to a hospital room?”
Ji Yanqing heard the mockery in her tone. She tightened her grip on the flowers. She held back her usual flamboyant attitude and smiled confidently. “I am Jiwanching’s sister, Ji Yanqing. I’m here today to discuss a business deal with you, General Manager Jiang!”
A momentary flash of surprise appeared in Jiang He’s eyes, but she quickly hid it. She met Ji Yanqing’s gaze and slightly raised her eyebrows. “The general manager’s sister? Isn’t she an only child? How did she suddenly get a sister?”
Ji Yanqing’s expression grew a little colder.
Jiang He continued to provoke her, “Your name is Ji Yanqing? You Ji family members really love to talk business, don’t you? There was an old lady who called herself the head of the Ji Corporation, Shi Ranying. That’s your mother, right?”
Ji Yanqing was surprised to hear that her mother had gone to see Jiang He. “What did she come to you for?”
Jiang He’s lips curved into a smile. “To talk business!”
Ji Yanqing said excitedly, “What kind of business?”
Jiang He shook her head and said, “I don’t know. I didn’t ask.” Then, she added, “What did you want to talk to me about, Ms. Ji?”
Ji Yanqing thought it over and decided that Jiang He was probably not on her mother’s side. She controlled her emotions and met her gaze again, her tone turning sarcastic. “General Manager Jiang, you seem to care a lot about my sister’s wife?”
Jiang He was stunned by her words. But she was a seasoned businesswoman, so her reaction was relatively normal.
She quickly thought it through. Cen Xia was still in the Ji family’s hands. They were a legally married couple, protected by the law. If she publicly admitted to it, the Ji family might try to blackmail her. Furthermore, she didn’t want Cen Xia to have the reputation of being an adulteress. She didn’t care about herself, but she didn’t want Cen Xia to bear so much.
Jiang He considered Ji Yanqing’s words, constantly picking up on the subtle expressions of the other person. She smiled and said, “Ms. Ji, what kind of joke is that? I’m a young technology CEO. What kind of woman can’t I find? Why would I be interested in a ‘luck-bringing’ wife of a paralyzed heiress?”
As she said this, her heart felt like it was being cut by a knife, but her tone was as arrogant as could be.
Ji Yanqing’s expression stiffened. She asked, unwilling to give up, “Then why did you risk your life to save that minivan? Did you fall for my sister?”
Jiang He’s lips curled. “That’s not it, Ms. Ji. That driver kept honking his horn. It was annoying, and my little assistant has a bad temper!” As she spoke, she reached out and ruffled Si Jing’s hair.
Si Jing shook her head and warned, “General Manager Jiang!”
The two’s small actions were extremely natural. Ji Yanqing was momentarily flustered. Could she have been wrong in her judgment?
Jiang He began to dismiss her. “Ms. Ji, didn’t you want to talk business with me? Why are we talking about your sister’s wife?”
Ji Yanqing thought for half a second. She still felt something was off. She lifted the corners of her lips and said, “General Manager Jiang, you can consider this. If you really are interested in my sister’s wife, as the future person in charge of the Ji Corporation, I can get you a divorce agreement. The condition is that you make her disappear from Jiwanching’s sight forever!”
Compared to General Manager Jiang’s intelligence, the second daughter’s words seemed a bit foolish. Jiang He, based on the little clues she had, came to a risky guess.
She looked at Ji Yanqing, her eyelids blinking a few times. She said teasingly, “Since you like your sister so much, Ms. Ji, why don’t you become her ‘luck-bringing’ wife yourself?”
When Ji Yanqing heard this, a vein popped out on her forehead. She glared at her with wide, angry eyes.
Jiang He had now confirmed her guess. She shrugged and spread her hands, laughing mockingly at Ji Yan.
