To the Man Destined to Kill Me - Chapter 61
The lips met. It was careful yet rough, tender yet wild.
Noah kissed Scarlett’s lips with his broken ones, as if they were his own, as if today was his last day.
He couldn’t believe this moment. It was something he had never even imagined. How could he dare kiss her?
Noah trembled, unseen. It was Scarlett, not anyone else. The Scarlett White he loved dearly!
Could this really be real? Was he dead and trapped in an eternal dream? But the sensation on his lips was vivid.
Noah raised his upper body and carefully sat Scarlett on top of him, so she could hold his neck properly. Scarlett, weak, wrapped her arms around his neck and rested them on his shoulder.
Their lips were still exploring each other. Noah was gentle but persistent, as though he wanted to learn everything about her, devouring her lips with his.
He tasted the soft flesh inside her mouth, brushing against her mucous membrane. Their tongues intertwined. Their breath tangled together. He continued exploring her lips.
How could he, of all people, dare kiss her? Noah pulled back without realizing it, as the thought crossed his mind.
Scarlett struggled to breathe through the kiss. This was her first time receiving such affection, and she didn’t know what to do.
Noah couldn’t believe the reality that he, of all people, was sharing such a moment with Scarlett.
“Noah… Noah…”
Scarlett called his name, as if confirming a lost signpost. Noah couldn’t stand hearing her say his name. She was unbearably lovable.
Noah’s large hand stroked Scarlett’s cheek, wiping away a tear that had fallen down her face.
“If you don’t want this, just tell me.”
Scarlett answered by tightening her hold around his neck. Noah kissed the nape of her neck once more. As his lips touched her, Scarlett trembled, making Noah pause in concern.
“It’s okay,” she whispered.
Noah repeated her words softly, “It’s okay.”
He spoke again, “There’s no turning back now.”
Her world had already reached a point of no return. An irreversible past and wounds that could never be healed. No matter what was added to them, life would not fall any further.
“I don’t mind.”
She wanted to follow her heart. She loved Noah.
How deep was this affection that had begun by piercing through the hellish hatred?
Noah met Scarlett’s eyes, as if confirming her true feelings.
Scarlett removed her arms from his neck and gently cupped his face with both hands.
Noah felt his face heat up from her delicate touch.
It was fortunate the room was dark. If it weren’t, his embarrassment would have been evident.
Scarlett lightly held his cheeks and kissed his lips.
The kiss was light, like raindrops falling on a roof. It was awkward, like a shy adolescent expressing affection.
But to Noah, it felt like thunder and lightning. He could feel Scarlett’s heart.
It was a clumsy confession. “I love you.”
The thrilling sensation spread from his lips. In an instant, Noah wrapped his arms around Scarlett’s head and back, gently laying her on the bed. He was on top of her in a flash.
Even in the dark, Scarlett’s flushed face was visible. Her shy demeanor made Noah smile silently.
“Scarlett.”
He called her name as if seeking permission. When he saw no rejection from her, he kissed her again. His hand carefully touched her body.
He started at her waist. When Scarlett didn’t seem to mind, he touched her more deeply. Scarlett flinched at his touch. When she shuddered, Noah became even more cautious.
Their kiss deepened and grew more persistent. His lips explored her mouth. Meanwhile, his hand fumbled with the buttons of her clothes. He hesitated for a moment, as if asking for permission.
“It’s okay…”
Scarlett gasped, whispering. Noah had to fight his trembling hands. He was overwhelmed.
Scarlett had never felt so embarrassed in front of a man. Her face was burning.
Was that all? It was the first time anyone had touched or seen her body like this. But she wasn’t scared. Because it was Noah.
His hand brushed her chest. Since it was the first time anyone had touched her body like that, Scarlett tensed up.
Noah undid the button near her chest, and she unconsciously held her breath. In the faint moonlight, her clothes loosened.
“Hah.”
A long breath of tension escaped Scarlett’s lips. Noah swallowed her sigh as if it were his own. Then, he moved his lips down to her neck, kissing it deeply. His hand gently caressed her.
Even in the darkness, Noah could feel how tense she was. He clung to her neck and shoulders, removing the loosened clothes with smooth movements.
Cold air touched Scarlett’s skin. Whether from the chill or from the heat Noah was giving her, her body trembled. Noah kissed her collarbone repeatedly, speaking softly.
“Relax. It’s okay.”
He was like a night-time magician coaxing a naïve woman. Scarlett, as if in a trance, wrapped her arms around his neck. She surrendered her body to him.
Noah’s hand, trembling slightly, held her waist. His lips moved further down.
And then—
“Aah.”
Scarlett gasped as a sound escaped her lips. She was startled by the noise, but it was too late to hide.
“Mmm.”
Scarlett couldn’t stop the sounds coming from her lips. A strange heat spread through her body. She gasped, feeling her body tremble. Noah chuckled softly.
Hearing her gasp, Noah’s gaze turned predatory, locking eyes with her. His eyes were those of a hunter. Scarlett felt completely overwhelmed by him.
“Aah…”
Scarlett twisted her body, sinking deeper into something she couldn’t describe. She felt soaked, like the fabric of her clothes or the bedding soaked with rainwater, as if Noah was soaking her through.
“Noah… Noah…”
She cried his name unconsciously, holding his head tightly. Noah felt a pang in his chest as he felt her response.
“Aah.”
Tears welled up in Scarlett’s eyes. She felt like her body was floating in mid-air. The sensation she was experiencing, for the first time, was traveling through her body from her toes to her head.
“Aah.”
Scarlett closed her eyes tightly from the embarrassment and awkwardness. She knew what this was between a man and a woman, but to face it… it was different.
Noticing her discomfort, Noah slowly moved away from her. Scarlett’s body was weak, and her soul, even more sensitive than her body, was always more important to him than his own.
Then, Scarlett grabbed his arm.
