This Alpha Is So Devoted to His Wife - Chapter 5
After hearing the story, the two little ones snuggled up and fell asleep.
Lu Xing He was in a deep sleep, completely unaware that the boy he was hugging had turned into a little piggy pillow. Duan Yu Luo also had no idea that his dads had taken him home in the middle of the night and that a lecture was waiting for him the next day.
The next day.
“Duan Yu Luo, when did Dad ever teach you that you can go to a stranger’s house?”
“He’s a good person.”
“Your judgment of a good person is that he likes Ultraman? Or that he has a lot of Ultraman figures at home?”
“I think so.”
“Aren’t you afraid he was trying to trick you?”
“How can he trick me? I don’t have any money, and I’m a kid.”
“So you know you’re a kid?”
“I know.”
In the spacious living room, Duan Yu Luo sits on the carpet, pouting and feeling a bit wronged, while his dads lecture him. He tries to put on his socks, but he’s not very good at it. He crawls over to his brother. “Brother, help me.”
His older brother, Luo Yu Duan, is about to help him put on his socks, but his dad gives him a look, and he silently goes back to his spot to put on his own socks.
“You’re so capable. You can go wherever you want without asking Dad, so now you can put on your own socks.”
Duan Yu Luo carefully peeks at his dad. He sees his dad looks angry, so he’s a little scared now. He holds his socks in his hands and looks at his other dad with hopeful eyes, but his dad listens to his husband and doesn’t look at him either. He pouts, feeling a bit wronged.
“Dad is a meanie. He won’t put on my socks.”
Tears well up in his big eyes. He can only try to put on the socks himself, but after a long time, he still can’t. He huffs in frustration, shoves the socks into his backpack, and decides he’ll have Lu Xing He help him put them on later.
His dad: “…”
The other dad walks over to his husband, pats his shoulder, and signals that he shouldn’t be angry and he’ll talk to him. He then squats in front of his son, Duan Yu Luo. “Zai Zai, Dad was so worried last night because you didn’t come home. Didn’t Dad and Daddy tell you not to take things from strangers? Not only did you take his things, you even went to his house. It was the first time you met him. How do you know for sure he’s not a bad person?”
“You did,” Duan Yu Luo says and looks at his dad again. He feels a little sad when he sees his dad still looks mean. “But Xing Xing was here for the first time, and he didn’t have any friends to play with. He was crying in the slide, and it was so pitiful. I wanted to take care of him. I didn’t just take his things.”
“And he’s a kid. How can he be a bad person? Dad, you’re so old, and you’re saying a kid is a bad person. You’re the bad one.”
He starts crying, stuffing his socks into his backpack while crying, and then puts the backpack on his back.
The little backpack only holds one pair of socks. He didn’t even bring a change of clothes.
His dad looks at his younger son and can’t help but laugh and cry at the same time. He sighs helplessly. He’s not angry, but worried. But now he also thinks his son isn’t stupid. Although he loves candy, he’s not completely without judgment.
After all, his little mouth can talk a lot.
I’ll just teach him slowly. I shouldn’t scold him on his first day of school.
“Put his socks on for him,” the dad says to the other dad.
“I’m going to take them back for Xing Xing to put on,” Duan Yu Luo says, immediately shaking his head when he sees his dad reach for his backpack. He waves his hand. “Xing Xing will help me put them on.”
The dads: “???”
His older brother, Luo Yu Duan, is confused. How strange. They just met yesterday. Why are they already so close? He doesn’t even want me anymore.
At the kindergarten gate.
For the new students in the junior class, the first day of school is a nightmare for all teachers and parents. Kids are crying, reaching for their dads and moms, and running out the door. Very few are calm enough to go to school, and even the teachers in the junior class aren’t calm.
In Junior Class 1, there are three kids who are like angels to the teachers.
They don’t cry or make a fuss. They calmly read books and play with toys, a sharp contrast to the other crying kids.
“Xing Xing!”
The moment Duan Yu Luo enters the classroom, he sees Lu Xing He sitting to the side. He immediately runs over to him with his backpack, takes it off, and pulls out the socks, handing them to Lu Xing He.
Lu Xing He’s eyes, which had been dim, instantly light up when he sees the little doll running toward him. A smile appears on his face.
He didn’t see Duan Yu Luo when he woke up in the morning. Even though his dad and mom explained that his parents had come to pick him up, he was still frustrated for a while. He didn’t even get a chance to say good morning.
But now, he’s feeling a lot better.
“Good morning!” Duan Yu Luo hands his little socks to Lu Xing He.
“Morning, Zai Zai.” Lu Xing He greets him and then sees him hand him a pair of socks. He takes them and is a bit confused.
Duan Yu Luo sits down on the small chair next to Lu Xing He. He bends down and takes off his shoes, revealing his fair, little feet. He points with his finger. “Help me. I don’t know how to put them on.”
Lu Xing He watches the little feet move and looks at the socks in his hands. Without a word, he squats in front of Duan Yu Luo to put on his socks, a satisfied smile on his face. As expected, Zai Zai really needs him!
The older brother, Luo Yu Duan, who’s nearby: “…” He stares at the back of Lu Xing He’s head. Why does this guy seem so silly? He’s so happy just for helping my brother put on his socks?
Lu Xing He is a very independent child. Putting on his own shoes and clothes is not a problem for him, but this is the first time he’s felt a sense of accomplishment in these areas, especially helping Duan Yu Luo.
He helps Duan Yu Luo put on his socks, straightens the edges around his ankles, and then helps him put on his shoes. He carefully sticks on the Velcro and looks up at Duan Yu Luo with a smile. “Okay.”
Duan Yu Luo looks down at his shoes that are now on. He stomps on the floor and smiles brightly, very happy. He says to Lu Xing He in a baby voice, “Thank you, Xing Xing~”
Lu Xing He sees Duan Yu Luo smiling so happily and wonders, Why is he so happy? Is it because I helped him put on his socks? It must be. Otherwise, why would he smile so cutely?
Then he can help the little doll put on his socks every day.
The older brother, Luo Yu Duan, quietly turns and holds a book. What’s so great about that?
And so, the three of them are the only kids in the class who are this calm on their first day of school. To the teachers, they are simply angels!
After an hour of the storm of crying on the first day, the children are finally tired and sit quietly in their chairs.
The homeroom teacher sits in the middle of the kids. It’s a moment of peace after the chaos. Since the kids are tired, they need a rest. She smiles and claps her hands, trying to get them to play a game with her sweetest smile. She says a simple chant.
“Good morning, kids. Now listen to the teacher. Little mouths—” The homeroom teacher tries to get the kids to say the next line.
The kids below are silent.
Just as the teacher thinks she’s not going to get a response, a clear, powerful baby voice answers:
“Pa pa pa!”
The teacher: “…” She is silent for two seconds, looking at the very confident Duan Yu Luo.
Duan Yu Luo raises his hand high and answers loudly. He thought he was right, but when the teacher doesn’t praise him, his chest, which was puffed out, slowly deflates. He’s a little embarrassed, and his little ears turn red. “It’s not ‘pa pa pa’?”
“It’s ‘quietly’.” The teacher smiles helplessly. The assistant teacher and the nursery teacher behind her can’t help but laugh.
“Oh.” Duan Yu Luo lowers his head, embarrassed, and moves closer to Lu Xing He.
Lu Xing He doesn’t know why Duan Yu Luo’s face is red. He just knows that when he gets this close, he’s like the little Persian cat at home who loves to cuddle. When he gets this close, he wants his head petted. He can’t help but pat his head.
And so, for the rest of the teacher-student interaction, Duan Yu Luo cooperates with the teacher. The teacher is captivated by this baby, who is highly adaptable, lively, and cooperative. In a little while, he gets a lot of stickers.
“Ultraman stickers!” Duan Yu Luo excitedly pats the stickers on his belly. He looks at the boy next to him who’s still crying and blowing snot bubbles. “Look, if you don’t cry, you get stickers. Hurry and smile!”
The boy who’s blowing snot bubbles has tears in his eyes. He stares at the many Ultraman stickers on Duan Yu Luo’s clothes, a little envious. He also misses his mom. He’s trying to decide whether he wants stickers or his mom.
“I’ll give you one!” Duan Yu Luo gives him one of his stickers, puts it on him, bends down, and smiles with his eyes. “And then we won’t cry anymore, okay?”
The boy, who’s still a crybaby, stares at Duan Yu Luo blankly, touching the sticker he was given.
“I can’t give you the rest,” Duan Yu Luo says, counting the four stickers on his chest. “I have to give them to my brother and my good friend.”
He then sticks two stickers on his brother, Luo Yu Duan’s, forehead, gives one to Lu Xing He, and keeps one for himself.
Lu Xing He is a little sad when he sees Luo Yu Duan has two and he only has one. Why did the little doll only give him one?
Luo Yu Duan notices Lu Xing He’s disappointed expression. He wasn’t showing any emotions, but when he sees Lu Xing He touching the one sticker his brother gave him and compares it to his two, he knows his brother loves him the most.
“I got one, and you got one, so we’re the same. Brother is a big brother, so he gets two,” Duan Yu Luo says, moving closer to Lu Xing He. He sees he’s a little unhappy, so he whispers to him, “I’ll give you another one when the teacher praises me again.”
Lu Xing He tries his best to listen to what Duan Yu Luo says, but with the few Chinese words he can recognize, it’s still hard to understand. He’s not getting it, and a wave of sadness washes over him. He feels a little down. That’s right. Luo Yu Duan is Duan Yu Luo’s brother, so of course, he loves his brother more.
He’s just a kid, and the language barrier in a strange kindergarten makes him feel a bit sad, and he’s close to tears.
He knows Luo Yu Duan is the little doll’s brother, so he gets two, and his parents told him he can’t be so bossy and stingy, but he’s a little sad right now.
“Okay, okay.”
Just then, a sticker is placed on his cheek. It’s a little warm.
“This is for you. Don’t be sad,” Duan Yu Luo says, sticking his last sticker on Lu Xing He’s cheek. He pats his cheek with his little hand, afraid the sticker will fall off. He smiles with his eyes, puts his hands on his knees, and tilts his head. “Because you’re my good friend!”
Lu Xing He blankly touches the sticker on his cheek, looking at Duan Yu Luo, who’s smiling so brightly in front of him.
He doesn’t feel sad anymore.
Suddenly, he’s very happy.
Because the little doll’s smile is sweeter than candy. He’s immediately cheered up.
