The White Moonlight Omega Has Amnesia and Always Tries to Seduce Me - Chapter 46
The library was tall and solemn, its collection of books like a vast expanse of stars, making the person standing at the entrance seem as insignificant as dust.
Qin Huai’s back stiffened slightly when she heard the familiar voice behind her, and her fingers gripping the laptop tightened.
The sound of footsteps behind her slowly drew nearer. All surrounding noises were filtered out and became background sounds, gradually blurring her sense of hearing. The alpha’s voice lacked its usual cheerfulness; the current tone was calm, betraying no emotion.
“I’m sorry, she has an alpha.” Shen Zhi stood beside Qin Huai and repeated what she had just said.
Courteous, open, and honest.
This had always been Shen Zhi’s attitude. Qin Huai turned her head, her gaze fixed on the side profile of the person next to her, and then let out a very slight laugh.
It seemed she was always the only one who wasn’t honest.
Qin Huai withdrew her gaze, her dark eyes suppressing all color, and said to the unfamiliar alpha, “I don’t have an alpha, nor do I have any plans to date anytime soon.”
As soon as the words left her mouth, two sets of eyes, one in front and one beside her, simultaneously looked over.
Qin Huai accepted their stares with composure; the pent-up frustration in her heart suddenly dissipated. After saying this, she turned and left.
Dusk was settling, and the roadside lamps at school cast a faint yellow light.
Qin Huai hadn’t walked many steps when the unfamiliar alpha spoke again, “Senior, it’s okay, I can wait.”
“Shut up,” Shen Zhi warned coldly.
“I’m willing to wait no matter how long.” The alpha completely ignored her and continued, “I can be whatever type you like.”
Qin Huai had heard this kind of confession too many times, and each time, it honestly made her feel a sense of self-doubt.
Do I deserve this?
In terms of looks, there were plenty of people better looking than her, and in terms of academics, there were plenty of people who studied better than her.
If one had to find an omega with a terrible temper in the entire school, she could effortlessly claim the top spot.
So, why was this happening?
Qin Huai stopped, facing the dense flight of stairs, and used the familiar script she typically employed to reject suitors.
Everyone knew that Qin Huai was consistently merciless, cold, and distant when rejecting people. When she lowered her gaze, her dark eyelashes drooped, revealing no excess emotion.
All the alphas only took it as a way of rejecting them, but that wasn’t the case
Because these were also the questions Qin Huai had always wanted to ask.
“What do you like about me?” The omega’s voice was flat, naturally adding a touch of impatience when she spoke.
The unfamiliar alpha was momentarily stunned, unsure how to respond.
Qin Huai adjusted the strap of her school bag on her shoulder and continued to question her, “Your thoughts about me only exist from a short afternoon in the library. Aside from this one afternoon, you don’t know much about me. What if you discover that I’m a very flawed omega? What if I’m not the kind of omega you imagine?”
“The truth is, you’re just acting on a whim,” Qin Huai paused midway through her sentence and then continued, “I have no interest in feelings that are based on a whim.”
After speaking, she walked away.
The two alphas left standing there did not speak after hearing her words, until that retreating figure walked further and further away. Shen Zhi, as if waking from a dream, crossed two stairs in one stride and rushed down.
“Wait for me.”
Qin Huai stopped in her tracks, her beautiful eyebrows slightly furrowed, somewhat disbelievingly turning around.
Shen Zhi ran up to her, using the light shining in the opposite direction.
The alpha’s eyes held a smile, her long hair lifting in the wind, and her deep-set eyes had an indescribable seductiveness in the dark night. She stopped next to Qin Huai and, as if she hadn’t heard the words of rejection just now, said as usual, “Let’s go.”
Qin Huai raised her eyes and asked bluntly, “Didn’t you understand what I just said?”
“I understood.” The alpha had both hands clasped behind her back, her dimples sinking slightly when she smiled, “But none of that ever counts between us.”
Qin Huai snapped back to reality, her heel involuntarily retreating a small step.
“You’ve forgotten, it’s always been you who calls the shots between us.” Shen Zhi didn’t seem to think there was any problem with this; in her eyes, whatever Qin Huai did was right, “If you’re willing to be with me, then we’ll be together.”
“If you feel being together is too tiring and you want to continue this unclear entanglement, I’m okay with that too.”
“But Qin Huai, you need to understand, my liking you doesn’t mean you can wantonly trample on my sincere feelings.”
“You can’t go find another alpha to play this game with you, or I’ll go crazy.”
Throughout her life, few people had ever said such things to Qin Huai. This feeling was very much like standing on a high cliff and jumping down. Below was a dense forest and a lake of unknown depth. You didn’t know if you’d land in the forest, the water, or on the ground.
You could fall to your death, or you could survive by luck.
But now, Qin Huai felt she had jumped, only the bottom of the cliff was no longer terrifying, but rather an existence like a fairyland.
She couldn’t help but stubbornly ask, “What will happen if you go crazy?”
The alpha merely chuckled without elaborating.
Qin Huai challenged, “If you don’t tell me, I’ll go find one now.”
Shen Zhi abruptly grabbed her wrist. In the dim light, her eyes were dark and heavy, “I’ll lock you up somewhere no one knows, use pheromones to induce you into estrus, and when you lose your mind during your heat, I won’t just casually mark you.”
“I’ll make you watch clearly as I mark you little by little.”
“Whether it’s a temporary mark or a permanent one.”
