The White Moonlight Omega Has Amnesia and Always Tries to Seduce Me - Chapter 36
On Saturday, Qin Huai woke up early to wash up. After receiving a message from Shen Zhi, she changed her clothes and went downstairs.
With the rising temperature, the treetops outside the dorm door had shed their winter bleakness and were dotted with budding green, casting thin, dark shadows on the ground.
The alpha was wearing a thin black windbreaker jacket paired with sweatpants, her high ponytail slightly curled at the ends. She stood with her back to the dorm building, her sleeves rolled up and gathered at her elbows. Her clean, slender index finger was hooked, holding a soy milk carton misty with condensation and some pan fried buns.
Qin Huai paused slightly as she came down the stairs.
Too many feelings were tacitly understood. Just like when she asked Shen Zhi that question, and then made a hasty exit, or Shen Zhi’s rambling reply neither of them could clearly articulate what was between them. When they met the next day, those emotions hidden deep in their hearts were swept away by the morning sun; all feelings rose up like dust, and eventually disappeared.
All that remained was the hot breakfast, with endless variations, that appeared every morning.
Presumably, she had been waiting for a long time. Shen Zhi raised her wrist, checked the time, then turned to look at the dorm entrance. A smile played on her lips, and her ponytail playfully swayed.
Qin Huai abruptly snapped back to reality, lowered her gaze, and stopped in front of Shen Zhi. “Have you been waiting long?”
“No, I just got here.” Shen Zhi handed over the breakfast, her finger joints slightly prominent. “I bought this for you.”
Shen Zhi was three full years younger than Qin Huai. Although the alpha often liked to act cute and her actions were not always mature, she always held a unique persistence characteristic of her age in her immature thinking. Shen Zhi would act spoiled towards her, making her soften up to achieve a certain goal, but she would never use acts of kindness to emotionally bind her.
Qin Huai lowered her eyes, only taking the bun, and asked, “Have you eaten?”
“I have.” Shen Zhi held the soy milk carton, expertly stuck in a straw, and held it in her hand.
Qin Huai was actually quite careless about eating milk and bread were enough to make a meal but Shen Zhi had somehow learned that she was sloppy about food and would persistently bring her a meal every morning, without fail. At noon, she would stick to her heels and pester her to eat her spirit was commendable and unwavering.
The pan fried bun had a thin layer of golden brown crispy crust on the outside, and was filled with tender tofu and glass noodles inside.
Qin Huai took a bite and swallowed slowly. “You should have some. I can’t finish it.”
Shen Zhi offered the soy milk in her hand. Qin Huai instinctively bit the straw and took a deep sip.
“You eat first. You can have the rest,” Qin Huai said, letting go of the straw. Shen Zhi took the soy milk back.
A waiting taxi was parked outside the school.
After Qin Huai got into the car, as the view outside the window moved backward and the carriage shook slightly, she gripped the seatbelt tightly, her nail beds turning red from the pressure.
Shen Zhi was replying to Zhou Yue’s WeChat message. When she put away her phone, she glanced sideways.
Qin Huai’s appearance was rather understated, her features easily evoking cold words like ‘pristine white snow,’ but her temperament was more outstanding than her looks. She always carried a sense of quiet stillness, like a night lake that no one dared to disturb.
Shen Zhi even softened her breathing until Qin Huai shot her a cold glance. “Look again and I’ll gouge your eyes out.”
Shen Zhi leaned closer and whispered, “Schoolmate, what are you nervous about?”
“Nothing.”
Shen Zhi lowered her eyes. Those hands were clutching the seatbelt so tightly that the veins on the back of her hands were slightly bulging. Whenever Qin Huai’s emotions fluctuated, she liked to grab things—she would grab her forearm in bed, and the seatbelt in the car.
In short, it was very cute.
Shen Zhi slowly raised her hand and freed the wrinkled seatbelt from Qin Huai’s grip. Qin Huai tried to pull back, but the alpha holding her hand was very strong, and any further struggle was futile.
Shen Zhi’s eyes were filled with a smile. She leaned close to her ear and, in a voice only the two of them could hear, said, “Schoolmate, don’t grab things randomly.”
Qin Huai’s hand immediately relaxed. She didn’t look at Shen Zhi once until the taxi stopped at the entrance of Shen Zhi’s house.
This time, only Shen Zhi’s mother and a cooking auntie were home at Shen Zhi’s place. The door opened, and Zhou Yue immediately spread her arms and said to Qin Huai, “Welcome.”
Qin Huai awkwardly rubbed the tip of her nose and also opened her arms. “Teacher Zhou, I’m sorry about last time, I had an urgent matter.”
Zhou Yue didn’t mind at all. She patted Qin Huai’s back. “It’s alright, studies are important.”
Shen Zhi stood on the outside, subtly raised an eyebrow, wearing a half-smile expression.
Zhou Yue was the first to notice her, and she shot Shen Zhi a sharp glare before pulling Qin Huai inside and having her sit down in the living room.
Zhou Yue had a great personality, and especially after learning that Qin Huai was her friend’s daughter, she asked about Qin Huai’s life with extreme patience. Although Qin Huai was aloof towards elders, she answered every question seriously. The two chatted in the living room for a full hour or more, eventually stopping when Zhou Yue received a call and had to attend an impromptu meeting.
Before the meeting, Zhou Yue specifically told her daughter to show Qin Huai around. Shen Zhi was more than willing. After Zhou Yue went upstairs to her study, Shen Zhi sat mysteriously next to Qin Huai and asked, “Schoolmate, how about I show you around?”
Qin Huai was bored and awkward sitting alone in the living room, so she agreed and followed behind Shen Zhi.
“This is the second floor, my parents’ territory.” Shen Zhi pointed casually, her introduction not very heartfelt.
Qin Huai had only briefly glimpsed this floor’s storage room last time. The decoration was somewhat traditional, with the bedroom connected to the study. After Shen Zhi finished introducing it, she led her up the stairs to the third floor. “The top floor is my territory. I’ll give you a proper tour.”
The third floor was decorated more modernly than the second. The open-air balcony was filled with greenery, and under the sun umbrella was a small wooden table just for two people to have tea. The living room had excellent lighting, and the curtains could be drawn to block the sun on a bright day.
“This is my gym.” Shen Zhi pushed open the outermost door and led Qin Huai inside. “I usually like to work out, mostly cardio. That way, the muscle definition looks really nice.”
The gym space was not very large. The treadmill was in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, and a punching bag hung down in the center of the room. Qin Huai rarely exercised, but she was inevitably curious about the punching bag. Her fingertip unconsciously brushed against the rough canvas, which Shen Zhi noticed.
“There are no bandages at home,” Shen Zhi kicked the punching bag. “Otherwise, I could have let you try it today.”
Although Qin Huai was curious about these things, her interest was not great. The moment she thought about how this thing could make her break a sweat, she immediately refused.
After the gym came the bedroom.
The bedroom was a very private space, especially for an alpha with a strong sense of territory. Just as Qin Huai was about to refuse, Shen Zhi stood at the door, a smile on her face and a provocative look in her eyes.
So Qin Huai took a small step forward.
The next second, the bedroom door flew open, and Qin Huai was pushed inside from behind.
