The White Moonlight Omega Has Amnesia and Always Tries to Seduce Me - Chapter 23
The voice, transmitted through the public address system, reached every corner of the sports field. Lin Qiu’s words became increasingly excessive, shamelessly throwing dirt at Shen Zhi without distinguishing right from wrong, causing many Alphas on the red track to slow their pace unknowingly as they listened intently.
Qin Huai usually had a low exercise volume and poor stamina. Her body began to heat up after only a few steps, her breathing gradually became ragged, and a flush slowly appeared on her cheeks.
Despite this, Qin Huai did not stop, instead charging forward with a burning determination in her head.
This matter had little to do with Shen Zhi. Shen Zhi just happened to appear at the right time. Since Lin Qiu couldn’t reason with her, she could only vent all her anger on Shen Zhi.
She couldn’t stand by and watch Lin Qiu, the real culprit, push Shen Zhi forward to take the blame.
That wasn’t fair.
Just thinking about this made Qin Huai incredibly angry angry at herself for being blind, angry at Lin Qiu for being shameless, and angry at Shen Zhi for getting involved in this mess at precisely this moment.
It must be because of what happened at noon that Lin Qiu was thoroughly enraged by Shen Zhi.
But that matter clearly had nothing to do with Shen Zhi, so why was she so willing to stick her neck out?
Anxious and preoccupied, Qin Huai paid more attention to what was ahead than to her footing. She didn’t notice the large protrusion where the edge of the track met the grass. Her toe accidentally kicked it, and her body gradually lost balance, slowly tipping towards the ground.
In the moment of falling, everything seemed to be in slow motion. Omegas walked past, chatting and laughing; Alphas sitting on the horizontal bars chased and played.
The thought that crossed Qin Huai’s mind was not the embarrassment of falling but that she couldn’t let Lin Qiu hurt Shen Zhi anymore.
But it seemed she was going to fail.
It seemed she had always been like this since childhood forever unable to catch up to the things she desired.
Qin Huai closed her eyes, bracing herself for the impact. But the expected pain of her body hitting the ground did not come. A pair of arms wrapped around her waist, and her back fell into a soft embrace.
She had been caught from behind.
Qin Huai opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the hands resting on her waist.
The clean hands gripping the grey clothing made the knuckle bones appear even more distinct.
“Slow down,” a low Alpha voice came from behind, the breath fanning the area behind Qin Huai’s ear.
That spot felt like it was being softly sprayed by a small mist, a tingling sensation traveling to her nerves and reacting in her head.
She turned her head, looking at Shen Zhi, who was supposed to be running, and asked, “What are you doing?”
“I’m going to see what kind of nonsense she’s up to.” Shen Zhi’s forehead was lightly dusted with sweat. Her body was steaming from running. Too lazy to pull out a tissue from her pocket, she bit her collar and used the fabric to wipe the sweat from her face.
Because her shirt rode up, the Alpha’s attractive, distinct muscle lines were exposed to the air, clean and smooth.
Qin Huai quickly averted her eyes, and asked coldly, “What does it have to do with you?”
Long-distance running was unlike sprinting. Even with good stamina, Shen Zhi was sweating a lot, and a small patch on her short sleeve shirt was damp. The Alpha, with her long arms and legs and excellent body proportions, looked aesthetically pleasing, even in the simple action of wiping sweat.
Hearing Qin Huai’s words, her collar was covering her eyes. Her voice, muffled through the fabric, asked, “What are you talking about?”
“You should be in the race right now, not messing around here,” Qin Huai said sternly.
Silence followed the words. Only the whistling wind and Lin Qiu’s increasingly ridiculous accusations could be heard.
“Qin Huai, I don’t care what happened between you and Shen Zhi. Even if you had her child, I can raise it for you. I just beg you to come back to me.”
The embellished words made it sound as if Shen Zhi and Qin Huai truly had a child together.
Shen Zhi’s expression grew colder. After wiping the sweat from her forehead, she heavily let go of the clothing in her hand. Her eyes were sharp, like a little wolf pup whose possession had been stolen. She involuntarily took a small step back, slightly hunched, pointing to the main platform and asking, “So you’re just going to let her keep talking?”
“Let her add fuel to the fire and smear your reputation? It was clearly her fault, so why did you go to find her?” Shen Zhi finished in one breath.
Qin Huai’s face grew worse. After Shen Zhi finished her last sentence, she pointed directly to the track, her voice exceptionally calm as she said, “Now you go run, don’t make me say it a second time.”
The Omega’s attitude was resolute, and her tone left no room for negotiation. Her words were full of resistance.
Shen Zhi seemed to realize something and gently exhaled. Just as she was about to speak, Qin Huai spoke again, “Go run. I will resolve this matter.”
Having said that, she quickened her steps towards the main platform without waiting for Shen Zhi’s reply.
Since Qin Huai had given the order, Shen Zhi had to continue running, however unwilling she was. She could go find Qin Huai as soon as she finished the last bit quickly.
Shen Zhi returned to the track, but this time her speed was significantly faster than before. Driven by the resolve to win first place, she looked straight ahead, yet her mind was focused on the first time she met Qin Huai.
The Omega wore a black suit, her hair tied up tightly, making her look sharp and capable. She stood on the wide podium, talking eloquently to nationally renowned pheromone research experts, her expression neither humble nor arrogant.
She loved all of Qin Huai’s rationality, all her confidence, all her determination to win.
When Qin Huai reached the main platform, Zhang Mo also rushed over after hearing the news. Lin Qiu stopped her nonsense when she saw the two people in front of the platform. She moved the microphone from her mouth to the side, then raised an eyebrow at Qin Huai, her eyes full of provocation.
Qin Huai’s emotions had always been relatively subdued, partly due to a sense of detachment. She generally felt it wasn’t worth getting angry over other people’s affairs, and even less worth it to get angry over her own.
But Lin Qiu seemed to have shattered her established understanding, like a delicate glass bottle suddenly crashing onto a balloon, the sharp shards aiming for the thin membrane.
She had never disliked someone as much as she did now, to the point where she felt ashamed if anyone mentioned Lin Qiu.
Only Lin Qiu remained seated on the main platform. She watched Qin Huai standing below, then leisurely crossed one leg over the other and said slowly, “Do you want to get back together with me?”
“I’m not blind.” The main platform was high, requiring the nearby stairs to access. Qin Huai simply said these three words, then walked toward the stairs. Zhang Mo followed closely behind.
If Qin Huai had come alone this time, Lin Qiu would have countless ways to force Qin Huai to admit her mistake. An Alpha was, after all, no match for an Omega; she could easily subdue her just with pheromones. But now there was another Alpha, especially one with a cold, intimidating expression, and Lin Qiu was uncharacteristically timid.
“What are you doing?” Lin Qiu finally felt a sense of crisis as she watched the two people approach.
Qin Huai glanced at Zhang Mo beside her. She found this Alpha somewhat familiar she was Shen Zhi’s roommate, Zhang Mo, often seen entering and exiting the cafeteria with Shen Zhi.
Qin Huai couldn’t be bothered to respond to Lin Qiu’s pointless question. She raised her chin, nodded at Zhang Mo, and pointed to the side, signaling Zhang Mo to pull her away.
Zhang Mo understood the signal and stepped in front of Qin Huai. Lin Qiu was sitting in a comfortable, relaxed posture, her elbows resting on the table. Zhang Mo stopped in front of Lin Qiu and directly grabbed her shoulder.
An Alpha who hangs out with Shen Zhi is naturally not a weakling who can be easily pushed over.
Lin Qiu felt as if a stone was pressing down on her shoulder. Powerless to move, she could only turn her head and grit her teeth, saying, “There are so many people, Qin Huai, what do you want?”
Qin Huai didn’t want anything. She just wanted to properly resolve this matter and restore Shen Zhi’s reputation and dignity.
So, she walked to the other side of the long table, moved the microphone in front of her with one hand, and tapped it with her palm.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The sound was heavy, like a weighty object striking.
“Qin Huai, what are you trying to do?” Lin Qiu seemed to be caught in a loop, only repeating this sentence.
She had finally managed to gain the upper hand; she couldn’t let Qin Huai ruin it. Despite the restraint on her other arm by Zhang Mo, she tried to reach out with her free hand to grab the microphone.
Qin Huai would not let her succeed. Half-standing, she pointed her finger at Lin Qiu and said sternly, “Get lost.”
The sound was so forceful that it startled not only Lin Qiu but even Zhang Mo.
Qin Huai maintained her grip on the black long microphone, hooked a chair with her foot, and sat down while speaking. Her voice was cool, carrying a hint of distance as she began to read.
The Omega was wearing grey sportswear, and her long hair at her temples was lifted by the wind. Her eyes scanned the sports field until they finally found that familiar figure. What came to mind was the momentary sight she had just witnessed.
“Next, I will broadcast a submission.”
“Dear student Shen Zhi, from the first moment I saw you, I have already fallen deeply in love with you. The sight of your abdominal muscle lines exposed while you run in your sportswear simply makes me dizzy with desire. I am willing to turn into thin sweat and slide down your muscles, kissing every piece of your skin.”
