The Villain Turned Out to Be a Scummy Omega? [GL] - Chapter 31
“Qingqing, let’s sleep together.”
After dinner, Lu Ge lounged on the sofa, pulling Song Ziqing into her arms and completely ignoring Lu Qinnian, who was sitting opposite them.
Lu Qinnian kept her eyes on the financial report in her hand, acting as though she didn’t care and refusing to look up.
Song Ziqing leaned against Lu Ge, her body still feeling light and drained of strength. She asked weakly, “Why?”
“I have to go back to the film set tomorrow, don’t I? Won’t you miss me?”
Song Ziqing gave a silly giggle. “Alright then.”
The words had barely left her mouth when Lu Qinnian said coldly, “No.”
“What does it have to do with you?” Lu Ge snapped, glaring at the woman across from her.
Lu Qinnian looked up, her icy face devoid of emotion. Her deep gaze landed on the hand Lu Ge had draped over Song Ziqing’s shoulder. “Take your hand off her.”
Faced with Lu Qinnian’s terrifyingly cold expression, Lu Ge instinctively released her grip. Although she usually acted like nothing bothered her, she harbored a deep-seated fear of her eldest sister. She didn’t dare provoke her; if pushed too far, Lu Qinnian was truly capable of turning on her family.
Song Ziqing also sat up straight, sitting like an obedient child alongside Lu Ge as they both watched the stern Lu Qinnian.
Lu Qinnian set down her tablet and looked at the two of them with an air of authority. Her voice was ice-cold. “And you, Lu Ge! Qingqing doesn’t understand, but do you lack common sense as well? She treats you like a real sister, so what are you doing cuddling her? If something goes wrong with your pheromones, what exactly do you plan to do to her? Take advantage of her weakness to force her into having your child?”
Song Ziqing jumped in shock and shook her head immediately. She only just realized that such a thing was actually possible—they weren’t actually related by blood!
Lu Ge’s face darkened. Seeing her hidden thoughts exposed so bluntly by the expressionless Lu Qinnian, she stuck her tongue out in dissatisfaction. “Why wouldn’t it be okay? I’m an Alpha and she’s an Omega. We both have high-quality pheromones, and we’ve known each other forever. Qingqing wouldn’t lose out by marrying me.”
Song Ziqing looked at her with total bewilderment. Lu Qinnian, seeing this, allowed a triumphant, cold smirk to flash across her lips.
Lu Ge had only been relying on the fact that Song Ziqing viewed her as a “real sister” to get close. Now that her intentions were exposed, Song Ziqing would naturally stop being so intimate with her.
Song Ziqing swallowed and shifted slightly away from Lu Ge. Lu Ge turned back, looking at her with a hurt expression. “Qingqing, are you repulsed by me?”
Song Ziqing gave a bitter laugh. “Sister Gege, I couldn’t possibly marry and have children with someone I think of as my own sister. I just couldn’t do something like that.”
Lu Ge froze. Seeing Song Ziqing keeping her distance, she realized she had fallen into Lu Qinnian’s trap. It would be difficult to get close to Song Ziqing again.
She turned back and glared with resentment at the calm Lu Qinnian, asking through gritted teeth, “So, what Qingqing means is… none of us three sisters have a chance, is that it?”
Lu Qinnian’s expression faltered. Lu Ge noticed the shift and was momentarily surprised before turning back to the dazed Song Ziqing.
Song Ziqing’s eyes involuntarily drifted toward Lu Qinnian. Lu Ge laughed. “Why are you looking at her?”
Song Ziqing immediately looked down and massaged her forehead. She leaned against the sofa, pretending to be exhausted. Lu Ge asked anxiously, “What’s wrong?”
“Dizzy,” Song Ziqing feigned discomfort.
“Then go get her medicine, quickly,” Lu Qinnian commanded.
Lu Ge scrambled to her feet and hurried away. Lu Qinnian’s lips curved into a faint smile as she stood up and walked over to Song Ziqing’s side.
Song Ziqing saw her sit down and immediately clutched her head again. Lu Qinnian reached out and pulled her hand down. “Stop acting. She’s gone.”
Song Ziqing let out a light cough. “I’m not acting. I really am dizzy.”
Looking at her weary state, Lu Qinnian grew uneasy. “Are you alright?”
Song Ziqing shook her head. “I just have no strength.”
“Go back to your room and rest,” Lu Qinnian said.
Song Ziqing sat up and looked at her helplessly. “I just told you I have no strength. How am I supposed to get back?”
Before she could finish, Lu Qinnian turned and swept her up into a horizontal carry.
Song Ziqing jumped in surprise and immediately hooked her arms around Lu Qinnian’s neck. “What are you doing? I meant I’d rest here for a bit before going back!”
Lu Qinnian looked at the person in her arms, asking with an embarrassed expression, “What should I do then? I’ve already picked you up.”
Song Ziqing was speechless. Lu Qinnian didn’t give her a choice, carrying her upstairs and heading straight for her bedroom.
Song Ziqing looked up at her. She had to admit that Lu Qinnian was truly beautiful—a cold, “ice-queen” beauty who looked unapproachable, but in reality, she wasn’t that bad once you got to know her. Especially lately; even with the girl in this state, Lu Qinnian hadn’t taken advantage of her or been inappropriate. She had been polite, even cautious.
Thinking this, Song Ziqing unconsciously lowered her guard and leaned into the woman’s embrace.
“Aren’t you tired?” Song Ziqing asked as they neared her room. The woman holding her looked completely unfazed.
Lu Qinnian looked down at the girl who was as docile as a rabbit. Her heart skipped a beat, but she immediately maintained her composure. “Not tired. I exercise regularly, and you’re very light.”
Song Ziqing gave a silly giggle.
Lu Qinnian felt a surge of joy in her heart, and her cold, deep eyes softened with warmth. Entering the room, she carefully placed the girl on the bed.
“Sleep now,” Lu Qinnian said, preparing to leave.
Song Ziqing propped herself up and let out a long breath, looking toward the bathroom.
Lu Qinnian hesitated. “What is it?”
“I want to bathe,” Song Ziqing said, her head hanging.
Lu Qinnian paused. “Then… shall I help you?”
Song Ziqing looked up in shock. Lu Qinnian awkwardly turned her face away. “You said you have no strength, didn’t you?”
Song Ziqing blinked. She hadn’t bathed in days and felt quite uncomfortable, but was Lu Qinnian really a “good person”? What if she did something like she did in the mall fitting room…
Seeing the girl looking down in silence, Lu Qinnian took a small step back and turned to leave. “Bathe when you have more energy.”
“You can just help me inside.”
Lu Qinnian turned back in surprise. Song Ziqing was smiling at her. “Is that okay? I really feel filthy, and it’s hard to sleep like this.”
Lu Qinnian hummed in agreement and stepped forward. She wrapped one arm around Song Ziqing’s shoulder as she prepared to get out of bed, then swept her legs up and carried her directly into the bathroom.
Song Ziqing nervously clutched her neck to avoid falling. Looking at the face so close to hers, she realized how good the woman smelled.
Since being framed by Xie Muqing, she had lost her sense of smell for pheromones and hadn’t yet recovered. However, every time Lu Qinnian was near, she could smell a scent that didn’t belong to pheromones—a faint aroma of tea that felt very grounding.
Lu Qinnian carefully placed her in the bathtub, turned on the faucet, and placed a towel beside her. She took two steps back. “I’ll be right outside. Call me if you need anything.”
Song Ziqing hummed. Hearing the door close behind her, she looked down at herself fully dressed and sitting in a bathtub and found it a bit funny.
Lu Qinnian didn’t even offer to help me undress? Has she really learned her lesson? Or has she given up?
Song Ziqing panted as she struggled out of her clothes and soaked in the warm water. She felt a sudden pang of disappointment. She didn’t expect Lu Qinnian to actually do nothing. Does she no longer like me?
She knit her brows and muttered, “Did I reject her too harshly? Is she disappointed? Has she given up?”
After a while, she let out a long breath and gave a self-deprecating laugh. “Have I gone mad? I hated it when she was so persistent, but now that she’s stopped, I’m upset? No one is bothering me now! It’s great!”
Song Ziqing leaned her head back against the tub. The warm steam made her eyes grow misty. The small space filled with warmth, and she felt her body begin to float. She was relaxed—more relaxed than she had ever been.
Lu Qinnian sat on the sofa outside, legs crossed, propping her head as she stared out the window. Her deep eyes were filled with desolation. The dark night sky felt quiet and a bit mournful.
The person she liked was right there, yet she was powerless. She didn’t even have the courage to approach, fearing she would only cause more loathing and drive the girl into someone else’s arms.
Maybe if I pretend to give up, we can at least keep this appearance of being sisters? But she truly didn’t know how to handle a sisterly relationship.
In the living room, Lu Ge stood by the sofa with the medicine kit, her face pale with anger. Knowing that Lu Qinnian had carried Song Ziqing back to her room only confirmed her suspicions that Lu Qinnian had ill intentions!
She took a deep breath. “No wonder she took such cruel revenge on Xie Muqing for her sake.”
Lu Ge laughed helplessly. Competing with Lu Qinnian was like declaring war, and with Lu Qinnian’s petty nature, it was better to forget it. Besides, she knew she couldn’t win.
Lu Ge went back to her room dejectedly, but the more she thought about a masterpiece like Song Ziqing falling into Lu Qinnian’s hands, the more she tossed and turned.
Finally, she yelled out, “Lu Qinnian! You bastard!”
She sat up in a huff. She remembered when she asked if none of the three sisters had a chance, Song Ziqing had stolen a glance at Lu Qinnian. It was obvious she cared about her.
“So, they love each other?!” Lu Ge blurted out in disbelief.
She immediately shook her head. “Impossible. Song Ziqing only worked so hard to please Lu Qinnian to get a foothold in the family. Besides, Lu Qinnian hated her so much; how could she suddenly like her? Just because she’s an Omega? That would make her just like me—only wanting a pure-blooded child.”
Lu Ge nodded and lay back down. “It must be a misunderstanding.”
A moment later, her brow furrowed again. “No… if Lu Qinnian just wanted a pure-blooded child, she would have had one with Xie Muqing years ago. She wouldn’t have waited.”
“If it’s not for a child, then what is it for?” Lu Ge was utterly confused. She curled her lip. “Could it be love? True love? Does a thing like that even exist for Lu Qinnian, who only cares about business profit?”
She slapped her forehead. “It feels so out of character. Besides, does Lu Qinnian even know how to date?”
Inside Song Ziqing’s room, Lu Qinnian began to doze off. Suddenly, she realized something was wrong. Song Ziqing had been in the bath for far too long. She looked toward the bathroom, walked to the door, and knocked.
“Qingqing, are you finished?”
The room was silent. Song Ziqing didn’t answer.
Lu Qinnian’s brow furrowed. In a panic, she pushed the door open and rushed toward the figure slumped in the tub. “Qingqing?”
Song Ziqing was pale. Her eyelids fluttered weakly as she muttered, “Lu Qinnian… you’re so annoying…”
Lu Qinnian froze for a second before reaching into the tub. She lifted the naked girl out, and feeling how cold her skin was, she hurried to place her under the covers.
Song Ziqing looked at the worried Lu Qinnian through blurry eyes and muttered resentfully, “I thought you didn’t like me anymore. Why are you worried?”
A jolt ran through Lu Qinnian. Staring at the pale girl talking nonsense, she felt her heart being squeezed. It was so painful she could barely breathe. She looked at the girl who had now closed her eyes and let out a helpless sigh.
“When did I ever say I didn’t like you? Hasn’t it always been you who didn’t like me?”
