The Villain Turned Out to Be a Scummy Omega? [GL] - Chapter 22
Song Ziqing’s aggrieved tears were nearly startled out of her by Lu Ge’s sudden proximity. Gazing into those eyes that seemed capable of seducing anyone at any moment, Song Ziqing felt her heart skip a beat.
Yan Hui ground her teeth in fury, wishing she could turn around and murder Lu Ge just to vent her frustration.
Beside them, Lu Kui’s expression was dark as she shoved Lu Ge back. She reached out and stared at Yan Hui. “Miss Yan, this is a Lu family matter. Please, give her to me.”
Song Ziqing looked back, her eyes meeting Lu Kui’s. Lu Kui’s lips twitched, her gaze falling on the way Song Ziqing’s arms were wrapped tightly around Yan Hui’s neck. Her brow furrowed, and she said in a cold tone, “Let go!”
Song Ziqing jumped in shock and immediately released her grip. Lu Kui stepped forward and took her from Yan Hui’s arms.
Song Ziqing was utterly bewildered. The “let go” was directed at me? The Lu Kui who dotes on me the most actually just barked at me?!
Yan Hui gave a bitter smile as she watched the beauty she had finally secured being carried away. She climbed into her car with a look of pure rage and slammed the door with a deafening thud. “Drive!”
The driver jumped and immediately stomped on the accelerator. As the car sped past the Lu family vehicle, Yan Hui’s furious expression froze. Her eyes widened in disbelief; in that split second as they passed, she had caught a glimpse of the back seat. Lu Qinnian was sitting right there!
Yan Hui burst into an angry laugh, cursing through gritted teeth, “Bastards! Every single one of those Lus is a pervert!”
The driver spoke up with earnest concern, “If Miss Song has fallen into the hands of those three, won’t her fate be quite miserable?”
Yan Hui’s face turned a sickly shade of green. The driver took one look and immediately shut her mouth.
Lu Ge stepped forward eagerly to open the car door, and Lu Kui carefully placed Song Ziqing onto the seat. Song Ziqing kept her head down, feeling a strange wave of hurt because Lu Kui had been so harsh with her.
Lu Ge pushed Lu Kui aside and climbed in, ignoring the look of pure annoyance on Lu Kui’s face as she shut the door.
Only then did Song Ziqing notice the person beside her. She looked up and met Lu Qinnian’s icy face. Those deep eyes swept over her bruised and battered feet.
Song Ziqing felt even more aggrieved. She turned toward Lu Ge on her other side and began to sob.
Lu Ge was instantly flustered. She hurriedly tried to explain, “We didn’t want to throw you out, Qingqing. We just couldn’t get into a direct conflict with those old fossils. I love you the most; how could I ever let someone drive you away?”
Song Ziqing let out a wail and lunged into Lu Ge’s arms. She hugged her neck tightly, burying her face in the woman’s chest as she cried. “I knew Sister Gege loved me most! Waaaah…”
Lu Ge stiffened. With the girl nuzzling against her like this, she felt as though she were floating on air. It was a sensation she had never experienced before. She happily hugged her tighter, her eyes meeting Lu Qinnian’s, which were as cold as if they had been dipped in ice. Triumphant, Lu Ge wrapped an arm around Song Ziqing’s waist and stroked her head, pressing her cheek against the girl’s and kissing her earlobe in an intimate gesture.
“Don’t cry, Qingqing. I’ll protect you from now on. I won’t let anyone make you feel mistreated ever again.”
Song Ziqing let out a muffled “mm-hmm” through her sobs. Lu Ge felt her heart melt and began to stroke the girl’s back with even more tenderness.
Lu Qinnian watched with a cold face, her jaw clenched tight. Memories of what Dr. Qi Ling had said flashed through her mind—that Song Ziqing had a 100% pheromone match with everyone in the Lu family. Seeing Lu Ge like this, it wasn’t hard to imagine the “bad intentions” brewing in her mind.
Lu Kui got into the car and turned back to look at them. She said through gritted teeth, “Lu Ge! Let go of her!”
Lu Ge held the trembling Song Ziqing and looked defiantly at her two snarling sisters. She rubbed her cheek gently against Song Ziqing’s hair. “Qingqing was mistreated, so I’m comforting her. Besides, she likes my comfort.”
“Bullshit!” The usually refined and elegant Lu Kui was so angry she resorted to swearing.
Lu Ge held her tighter and patted her back. “Don’t cry, Qingqing. I’m right here. You like it when I comfort you, don’t you?”
Song Ziqing let out another sob of agreement, clinging to her neck. To her, the warm and unreservedly affectionate Lu Ge always made her feel the warmth of home.
She hugged Lu Ge tighter and whimpered, “Gege is the best. Lu Kui was just mean to me.”
Lu Kui froze. Seeing the two of them look at her with dissatisfaction, she swallowed nervously and hurried to explain, “You were holding onto Yan Hui’s neck like that… I… I just acted on impulse. I didn’t mean to be mean to you.”
Song Ziqing buried her head even deeper. Lu Ge patted her back with an aching heart. “Don’t be afraid, Qingqing. As long as I’m here, no one will dare to be mean to you again.”
Lu Kui hung her head, looking at the crying girl with eyes full of guilt. “Qingqing, I really didn’t mean it.”
Lu Qinnian watched the two beside her, feeling a sense of suffocation. Song Ziqing was acting like a sister seeking comfort, but Lu Ge clearly was not!
She had been restless enough back when they thought they were sisters; now that she knew Song Ziqing was an Omega they could actually be with, who knew what kind of schemes she was plotting. This little wolf wouldn’t be able to handle it.
“Can you let go now?” Lu Qinnian said coldly, her displeasure obvious.
Lu Kui immediately chimed in, “Yes! Lu Ge, let go of her!”
Lu Ge looked at them triumphantly. “Qingqing is the one hugging me because she’s upset. I’m just feeling bad for my sister. What’s wrong with you two? Are you jealous?”
The two were stunned into silence. Lu Ge, emboldened, lowered her head to kiss the girl’s hair—a move that was far too intimate.
“Song Ziqing!” Lu Qinnian barked in anger. “Let go!”
Song Ziqing shivered in fear. She looked back at the angry woman, her heart feeling even heavier. With tearful eyes, she shook her head in disappointment and choked out, “You’re being mean to me too?”
Lu Qinnian froze. Seeing the girl crying so piteously a sight that would move anyone to mercy—that look of disappointment instantly made her panic. She opened her mouth. “I… I… I…”
Lu Ge glared at her and pulled Song Ziqing back into her embrace. “Don’t cry, Qingqing. We’ll ignore them.”
Lu Qinnian knit her brows and looked away entirely. She propped her elbow on the window ledge and rested her forehead against her hand, muttering irritably, “Damn it! I should have gone down and punched Yan Hui just now.”
Lu Kui, sitting in front, didn’t say a word. She had only stopped Lu Qinnian from getting out of the car because she knew the woman would lose her temper at the sight of Yan Hui and start a fight.
Song Ziqing eventually cried herself to sleep in Lu Ge’s arms. Lu Ge looked down at the girl with a radiant, blissful smile. Lu Kui watched the scene with a look of pure disdain, clicking her tongue. “Tsk.”
Lu Ge smiled happily at her two angry sisters, holding the girl tighter and nuzzling her forehead incessantly.
Beside her, Lu Qinnian’s fists were clenched so hard that her knuckles cracked in the quiet, cramped cabin. Her deep eyes glowed with a predatory, murderous light as she stared at Lu Ge.
Lu Ge felt her hair stand on end from the stare and tactfully loosened her grip, but she remained close, looking down at the sleeping girl with a tender, proprietary gaze. She whispered to herself, “I always knew Qingqing was beautiful. More beautiful than anyone.”
Lu Kui slapped her forehead and took a deep, patient breath. “Aunt Song won’t let you get away with it if you try anything reckless!”
Lu Ge looked up with a grin. “Aunt Song is so gentle; she wouldn’t—”
“I won’t let you get away with it either,” Lu Qinnian said darkly from the back.
Lu Ge froze, truly startled by the tone.
The car happened to pull up at the door. Lu Qinnian reached over, draped Song Ziqing’s arm over her own shoulder, and swept her out of the car.
Lu Ge chased after her like a frustrated dog. “Lu Qinnian! Don’t you think you’re being a bit too domineering?!”
“I’ve always been like this.” Lu Qinnian carried the girl straight upstairs. Lu Ge followed, stomping her foot in frustration. “What does she mean by taking her into her own room?!”
Lu Kui shot her a look of pure contempt. “Tsk… I truly admire your ability to treat her like your most beloved sister one second and a plaything the next.”
“What the hell are you talking about?!” Lu Ge glared at Lu Kui. “I’m serious. I want to marry Qingqing, have children with—”
“Shut up!” Lu Kui snapped.
Lu Ge’s phone rang. It was her manager calling her back, which irritated her further. She glanced at Lu Qinnian’s closed door. Well, at least she didn’t fall into Lu Kui’s hands. Lu Qinnian hates Qingqing so much and knows nothing about romance; she probably won’t use any underhanded tactics. In that regard, she’s still a good person. She won’t harm her.
With that thought, she turned to leave, throwing a warning glare at Lu Kui as she went.
Inside Lu Qinnian’s room, as she set the girl down, her phone screen showed a sent message: “Call Lu Ge back to work. Make sure she doesn’t have time to come home for a while.”
