The Villain Turned Out to Be a Scummy Omega? [GL] - Chapter 21
In a luxury car weaving through the city, Lu Qinnian leaned back against the rear seat with her arms folded. Her deep, dark eyes were fixed straight ahead, and her expression was anything but friendly.
She stole a glance at Song Ziqing, who was leaning against her shoulder. The girl’s nose twitched slightly as she slept soundly, looking like a tired, obedient infant. Lu Qinnian suddenly felt that she was remarkably well-behaved and cute.
Lu Qinnian froze, convinced she was being bewitched by this little ungrateful wolf. In her previous life, they were never close, so she had always remained clear-headed. In this life, she had saved the girl repeatedly, which only gave her an opening to worm her way in. To think she actually found her “well-behaved and cute”!
Lu Qinnian’s face darkened, and the temperature in the car seemed to drop several degrees. The driver peeked at that heavy expression through the rearview mirror, feeling his hair stand on end.
However, he was also dying of curiosity. In the past, Lu Qinnian wouldn’t even let Song Ziqing step into her car. Now, she was not only driving her around but also tolerating her sleeping on her shoulder. It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime sight.
As the car pulled into the Lu estate, Song Ziqing fluttered her eyelids. Perhaps because she hadn’t slept all night, she felt completely limp and drained of energy; she had wanted to sleep the moment she got into the car.
Looking at the familiar villa, Song Ziqing lifted her head and massaged her neck, which felt a bit stiff from leaning on someone else. She let out a lazy yawn. “The food Niannian took me to eat was really not good.”
Lu Qinnian was just about to step out of the car. She turned back and glared at her in a rage.
Song Ziqing beamed at her. “Next time, I’ll take you to eat something delicious.”
Lu Qinnian let out a huff and exited the car with a cold face. She felt this person was truly ungrateful; she treated her so well, yet all she got was nitpicking!
Song Ziqing followed her slowly into the house. She paused as she saw the person ahead of her stop. There were two large suitcases in the living room, and Xie Muqing was there, acting as if she owned the place.
Lu Kui and Lu Ge were standing by the sofa, looking over. Beside them stood two middle-aged women dressed in sharp business attire, looking as stern and final as high court judges.
“Qingqing.” Xie Muqing was the first to approach, taking Song Ziqing’s hand. “It turns out Qingqing is just like me. I’m so happy! Let’s live together from now on.”
Song Ziqing was bewildered. The two middle-aged women stepped forward with solemn expressions. “Miss Song Ziqing, we are sorry. According to the regulations, you can no longer live with the Alphas of the Lu family. This is not only a threat to your personal safety but also detrimental to the reputation of the Lu family.”
Song Ziqing suddenly realized. In the original book, there was indeed such an unwritten rule. Omegas had a lower social status; unless married, they were forbidden from living under the same roof as Alphas. Even socialites like Xie Muqing lived separately from the Alpha members of their own families. As a foster child, it was even more impossible for her to stay.
This was the most important reason why the original host had hidden her identity. If she lost the ability to live with them, it would be nearly impossible for an Omega to enter the Lu family company, let alone seize their assets.
However, the transmigrated Song Ziqing had no interest in fighting for money; she just wanted to live a quiet life. She didn’t actually mind leaving the Lu house.
“I’ll see Qingqing out.” Xie Muqing acted like the mistress of the house, grabbing Song Ziqing’s arm to lead her toward the door.
Lu Ge ground her teeth in fury. She looked up at Lu Qinnian, who was heading upstairs without a hint of stopping. “Lu Qinnian! Say something!”
Lu Kui also looked at her anxiously. Lu Qinnian looked back at the group in the living room, then at Song Ziqing. “You won’t be homeless once you leave the Lu family, will you?”
Looking at that cold woman, Song Ziqing glared back through gritted teeth. “I have plenty of places to go!”
Angry, Song Ziqing yanked her hand away from Xie Muqing and began dragging her two heavy suitcases toward the door herself.
Xie Muqing called out to her frantically, “Qingqing, I’ve packed everything for you! If there’s anything you’ve forgotten, just let me know and I’ll send it over.”
Song Ziqing looked back in a rage. Xie Muqing gave her a friendly wave. “Safe travels.”
Song Ziqing glanced at Lu Qinnian, who hadn’t looked back once, gave Xie Muqing a hollow smile, and stepped out the door.
Xie Muqing glanced at Lu Kui and Lu Ge. She had expected them to move heaven and earth to stop the elders from kicking Song Ziqing out—the “Second Sister” Lu Kui and the “Sister-Maniac” Lu Ge. Yet, simply because she wasn’t a noble Alpha like them, they stood by and watched her leave so heartlessly.
How cold-blooded! Xie Muqing sneered to herself. So much for deep sisterly bonds. What a joke.
Song Ziqing struggled to drag her suitcases out of the Lu gates, only to be immediately surrounded by reporters. “Miss Song Ziqing, were you kicked out by the Lu family?”
“Miss Song, rumors say you intentionally hid your identity to seduce the Lu family members. Is that true?”
“Miss Song, does no one in the Lu family actually want you?”
Song Ziqing’s lips twitched. Just as she was about to speak, Xie Muqing appeared behind her, standing in front of her with a dignified smile to block the cameras. “Please don’t talk nonsense. Even though Qingqing has left the Lu house, she is still my friend. Please don’t say that about her; she already knows she was wrong.”
Song Ziqing stared at her in disbelief. Xie Muqing immediately pulled her away to a waiting taxi.
“Just go. Don’t stay here and embarrass yourself further.”
Song Ziqing gaped at her. “You… what kind of nonsense are you talking?”
Xie Muqing looked hurt. “Qingqing, how can you be so hurtful? Look at the massive Lu family—I’m the only one who came out to see you off.”
Song Ziqing rolled her eyes and got into the taxi.
Xie Muqing stood there with her arms crossed, waving like a victor. Song Ziqing ground her teeth. “What a mess!”
“Where to, Miss?”
Song Ziqing looked at the driver, suddenly realizing she had no idea where to go. With a miserable face, she looked at the hotel across the street. “Just over there.”
Song Ziqing hung her head, dragging her two suitcases until she was panting with exhaustion. The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. “Calling me ‘sister’ every single day, and now they turn their backs on me. What a bunch of heartless people!”
As soon as she reached the hotel entrance, she was pushed back out. “What are you doing? I’m a guest!”
“Sorry, Miss Song. Our hotel does not accept people with your… questionable intentions.”
Song Ziqing was stunned. The hotel manager spread his hands. “This is a Xie family hotel. You should understand; you hid your true identity and had designs on the Lu family. Miss Xie Muqing is very displeased.”
“Crap!” Song Ziqing backed away with a cold laugh. She took a deep breath and dragged her suitcases away again. “That woman surnamed Xie!”
By the time Song Ziqing dragged her luggage to another hotel, the sun had set. She was hungry, exhausted, and miserable. Finally getting inside, she was kicked out again the moment she gave her name.
Song Ziqing sat down on the front steps in a fit of rage. “Did the Xie family open every hotel just to spite me?!”
Just then, a security guard walked over. “Miss, you can’t sit here. You’re blocking our business.”
Song Ziqing glared back, refusing to move.
Two guards stepped forward, grabbed her suitcases, and tossed them near the rubbish bins.
Song Ziqing tried to argue, but she was pushed down as soon as she stepped forward. Her high-end dress now looked like a joke, and she felt like a clown.
The guard sneered disdainfully. “Where did this trash come from? Look at yourself. You think you can go against Miss Xie? Get lost! If we see you again, we won’t be this gentle!”
Song Ziqing watched them leave and burst into a fit of angry laughter. She looked at her broken suitcase; two items of clothing had fallen out. She stuffed them back in, but as she tried to stand, her stiletto heel snapped.
Song Ziqing fell back with a cry of pain. Looking at the broken heel, she kicked the shoe off in a rage. Her foot was scraped and bleeding, and the pain finally hit her. Pouting with grievance, she sat on the ground and began to wail, not even caring about the smell of the nearby bins.
In a car not far away, a person who had been following her since she left the Lu house looked on with a stunned expression before bursting into laughter. “I thought she was so tough. She really is just a child.”
The driver asked, “Miss Yan, what should we do?”
Yan Hui wiped the smile from her face and opened the car door. The driver said anxiously, “Miss Xie will be angry.”
Yan Hui didn’t say a word. she stepped out and walked straight toward the person crying her heart out on the ground.
Passers-by looked at Song Ziqing like she was a freak, keeping their distance as they hurried away.
Yan Hui stopped in front of her. Her brow furrowed at the sight of those bruised and bloody feet. She stepped forward, knelt down, and wrapped an arm around the girl’s shoulder.
Song Ziqing looked up, her tear-streaked face freezing for a second. A flash of disappointment crossed her eyes, followed by a grateful pout as she choked out, “Sister Yan Hui.”
Yan Hui gave a gentle smile. She slid her arms under the girl’s knees and swept her up into a horizontal carry. “Let’s go home.”
Song Ziqing’s heart skipped a beat. Feeling even more aggrieved, she hugged Yan Hui’s neck and buried her face in the woman’s shoulder, sobbing uncontrollably.
Yan Hui froze, her brow knitting with concern. “Don’t cry. It’s okay now.”
Yan Hui carried the trembling girl toward the car. The driver opened the door, but it was suddenly slammed shut by someone else.
The driver jumped in shock. Looking back, she saw two aggressive figures that made her hold her breath.
Yan Hui let out a sigh of regret. “You two… you followed us this long, and you only wait until I’ve picked her up to try and snatch her back?”
Song Ziqing looked up, her gaze meeting Lu Ge, who was standing behind Yan Hui, and Lu Kui right beside her.
Lu Ge looked at Song Ziqing’s injured feet. Her heart ached as she stepped forward, leaned down, and gently kissed the girl’s forehead.
