- Chapter 20 - 100% Match, But Not Unique
The moment the elevator doors slid open, Lu Qinnian bent down and swept the limp figure in her arms into a horizontal carry. She couldn’t help but notice that Song Ziqing felt even lighter today than she used to.
Moving with an urgent speed, as if being chased, she rushed back to her private lounge. Song Ziqing leaned against her shoulder, nuzzling into her neck like a small puppy. She inhaled Lu Qinnian’s scent, which felt like cool spring water washing over her feverish skin, bringing a momentary peace to her burning body.
Lu Qinnian stole a glance, swallowed hard in nervousness, and strode into the bedroom, tossing the girl onto the bed.
The girl on the bed knit her brows as if in protest. She raised a hand to her forehead; her exposed arm was flushed a light pink, and her palms and fingertips were a deep crimson. She looked as though she were bathed in a soft, rosy glow. Lu Qinnian stood by the bedside, momentarily transfixed.
In her discomfort, Song Ziqing curled one leg upward. Her red sequined dress slid down from her knee to the top of her thigh, revealing long, fair legs. Her knees were flushed a deep rose, looking as though she were enduring some great trial.
Even her toes, pressed against the bedsheets, were tipped with red, as were her heels and ankles.
Lu Qinnian’s gaze burned as she tracked the lines of those legs from the tips of the toes to the heels, the ankles, the calves, and the knees. When her eyes reached the upper thigh, she took a dry-throated gulp, yet her mouth still felt parched.
A soft, slightly impatient murmur of “Niannian…” snapped Lu Qinnian out of her trance. Startled and flustered, she grabbed a nearby blanket and hurried forward.
Song Ziqing looked up, her eyes squinting and clouded with a misty haze as she stared at the woman approaching with the blanket. Just as Lu Qinnian leaned down, Song Ziqing reached out, grabbed her collar, and yanked her downward.
Startled, Lu Qinnian’s lips collided with the lips that had been impatiently reaching up for her. Seeing the panic in Lu Qinnian’s eyes, Song Ziqing’s own misty gaze seemed to flicker with a mischievous grin. She hooked her other arm around the woman’s neck, pulling her down to deepen the kiss.
Song Ziqing clung to her greedily. Suddenly, she rolled over, pinning the stunned Lu Qinnian onto the bed. She leaned down to kiss her again with feverish haste, her fingers fumbling with the buttons of the woman’s shirt while her other hand dominantely tore away her blazer.
Lu Qinnian stared at her in disbelief. Just as she moved to push her away, her hands were seized and pinned above her head. She looked up at the girl’s face, which was full of infatuation. “Song… Song Ziqing! You—mph…”
Song Ziqing leaned down to seal her lips, then looked up with eyes full of tenderness. “Call me Qingqing~”
Lu Qinnian went numb. The girl then slumped against her, her head nuzzling incessantly against her chest.
Lu Qinnian felt as though she had fallen under this little wolf’s spell. She didn’t have a shred of strength left to resist; in fact, she found herself craving more.
Song Ziqing looked up, her lips pouting. “Niannian smells so good. You’re different from the others.”
Lu Qinnian froze as the girl leaned in to kiss her again brushing against her earlobe and her neck. Lu Qinnian lay there like an obedient dog following its master’s orders, letting the girl kiss her however she pleased, without even a thought of resistance.
Lu Qinnian opened her mouth to ask, “Different from Yan Hui, too?”
Song Ziqing hugged her waist tight and nuzzled into her neck. In a soft, coquettish tone, she kissed Lu Qinnian’s jawline and hummed. “Niannian is unique. It feels so good; no one else compares.”
Lu Qinnian’s brow smoothed over. Her thin lips twitched as she involuntarily allowed the corners of her mouth to turn up.
“You’re just not very proactive,” Song Ziqing added, her tone slightly disappointed as she pulled at Lu Qinnian’s shirt to kiss downward.
A jolt ran through Lu Qinnian’s body. Her toes curled, and she barely dared to breathe.
“Yan Hui is different. She takes the initiative.”
Lu Qinnian’s head snapped down to look at the girl. Her brow furrowed as she suddenly wrapped her arms around the girl’s waist. “What exactly did she take the initiative to do?”
Song Ziqing looked up, climbing further up the woman’s body to kiss her lips. Her cheek rubbed against Lu Qinnian’s, and her hands restlessly caressed the woman’s neck. She mumbled, “She’s just more proactive than you.”
Lu Qinnian’s lips twitched. The hands resting on Song Ziqing’s waist suddenly became restless themselves. “Nonsense!”
Song Ziqing lay in her arms, greedily inhaling her scent. As her back was stroked, she felt a sense of calm wash over her, letting out a comfortable moan in Lu Qinnian’s ear.
Lu Qinnian’s entire body went rigid. She looked blankly at the person buried in her neck and felt those soft, weak hands on her. She swallowed. “What are you doing?”
“It feels good,” Song Ziqing whispered, kissing her shoulder.
Lu Qinnian ground her teeth. Her mind told her to push the girl away and kick her off the bed, yet her arms instinctively tightened their hold. She even drew her legs up, as if wanting to merge the girl entirely into her own being.
It had to be said that Xie Muqing’s wine was incredibly potent. Song Ziqing spent the night greedily kissing and touching the woman in her arms, while that same woman spent the night biting her lip in anger one moment and tilting her neck back in a daze the next.
The room echoed with the lingering, intimate scent of their pheromones chasing each other until dawn.
…
Following the incident, the party was promptly shut down. News that the Lu family’s foster child, Song Ziqing, was actually a top-tier Omega rather than an Alpha spread like wildfire through their social circle—aided, of course, by Xie Muqing’s subtle nudging.
Xie Muqing knew well that the Lu elders would never tolerate Song Ziqing’s presence. For a family of elite Alphas, having an “unofficial” Omega living among them was a stain on their status.
Once Song Ziqing was forced out of the Lu home, Xie Muqing had plenty of ways to make her vanish from this circle without a trace.
Early the next morning, the Lu mansion was suddenly bustling. Lu Kui, who had rushed back from abroad, was ashen-faced, while Lu Ge sat on the sofa looking remarkably pleased.
“What is with Lu Qinnian? I can’t reach her at all! Even Assistant Liu can’t find her!”
Lu Ge leaned back, propping her head on her hand as she watched Lu Kui. “Didn’t they say she left with Qingqing? It’s not like she’s the one who’s going to suffer a loss.”
“I’m afraid of Qingqing suffering!” Lu Kui sat down opposite her, arms folded as she grumbled. “Lu Qinnian is an S-rank Alpha—higher than ‘elite.’ If she’s induced by Qingqing’s pheromones, her own pheromones could actually hurt the girl.”
Lu Ge gave an intrigued smile. “I heard that Qingqing’s pheromones caused a near-riot last night. A top-tier Omega indeed. Some even say she’s at least ‘elite.’ I’m just worried someone might have been seduced until they lost their soul.”
Lu Kui’s expression darkened further. “That bastard Lu Qinnian! No wonder she targeted Qingqing at every turn; she must have known all along!”
Lu Ge toyed with her hair, letting out a wistful sigh. “So the top-tier Omega in the basement that night… was actually Qingqing.”
Lu Kui froze, then ground her teeth at the look on Lu Ge’s face. “Am I the only one who didn’t know?”
Lu Ge pouted. “Well… Lu Qinnian took her into her room that night. You don’t think…”
“Of course not!” Lu Kui glared at her. “Qingqing would never like someone like her!”
Lu Ge nodded. “True. Such a boring person couldn’t possibly be as interesting as I am!”
Lu Kui shot her a look. “Stop talking nonsense. Qingqing is our sister.”
“If she’s just a sister, why are you so anxious?”
Lu Kui paused, her brow furrowing. “I’m just afraid she’ll be kicked out of the family. Unless they are direct relatives, Alphas and Omegas cannot live under the same roof. It’s for the sake of ‘blood purity.’ A family of elite Alphas like ours would never allow her to stay.”
Lu Ge smiled and uncrossed her legs. “She can live with me.”
Lu Kui looked at her with a murderous glare. “…”
Lu Ge leaned back against the sofa. “Lu Qinnian has wanted her gone for a long time. Now she has the perfect excuse. I bet she even set it up so Qingqing would be exposed. That scheming, vicious woman!”
“There’s no need to talk about her like that,” Lu Kui said.
Lu Ge shrugged, then gave a wicked grin. “How about I just marry Qingqing? That way she can keep living with us.”
Lu Kui’s lips twitched, her gaze turning cold and sharp a far cry from her usual “literary youth” persona.
Lu Ge tactfully wiped the grin off her face, though she couldn’t help but sigh. “No wonder I loved Qingqing so much. I thought I was just a devoted sister-maniac; turns out I just liked her as a wife!”
“Lu Ge!” Lu Kui roared. “Have you lost your mind again?!”
Lu Ge pouted, then let out a silly grin. She felt it was destiny. Perhaps their pheromones were even a perfect match! When Qingqing returned, she definitely had to take her to the doctor to see if they were compatible.
Meanwhile, at the Lu family hospital, a doctor looked at a test report in disbelief. She looked at Song Ziqing, then at Lu Qinnian.
Song Ziqing was yawning. She had been dragged out of bed early and felt completely drained. Looking at Lu Qinnian sitting nearby, she felt a surge of irritation.
“Out,” Lu Qinnian said suddenly.
Song Ziqing froze. Lu Qinnian looked up, her deep eyes like cold, sharp blades. Song Ziqing instinctively shivered, pouted, and left the room.
This Lu Qinnian… she’s been acting like a bristling, snarling wolf toward me since she woke up. How infuriating!
Song Ziqing found a seat outside and continued yawning. The warm morning sunlight through the glass wall bathed her in a golden glow, making her even sleepier.
Inside the room, the doctor handed over a report. “Congratulations, Qinnian. She’s a top-tier S-rank Omega.”
Lu Qinnian looked at the report. Although she had expected it, it was still a bit staggering. In this age of free love, many high-quality Omegas were often “deceived” by ordinary Alphas, resulting in descendants who were just average. Elite Omegas were rare enough, let alone S-ranks.
“No wonder Chairman Lu and the others dote on her so much. They were raising a child bride for you all along.”
Lu Qinnian looked up, her cold gaze full of displeasure. The doctor froze, immediately wiped the expression off her face, and handed over another report.
“This is the compatibility test between her and you.”
“Who told you to test that?!” Lu Qinnian’s brow furrowed. She had only brought Song Ziqing here to confirm her identity and make sure she wasn’t injured after such a prolonged pheromone release.
Qi Ling looked wistful. She had simply run the comparison as a side task. She tapped the desk with a grin. “Just take a look.”
Qi Ling’s family were renowned researchers in this field and worked exclusively under the Lu family banner. Having known each other since childhood, Qi Ling felt comfortable taking such liberties.
Lu Qinnian’s eyes widened as she looked at the paper. “100% match?! Are you sure there’s no mistake?”
“Incredible, isn’t it?” Qi Ling sat opposite her, arms folded. “Even my mother, who’s been a doctor for her whole life, has never measured a 100% pheromone match. I’ve only been on the job a few years and I’ve already found one.”
Lu Qinnian looked back down at the two reports. No wonder it felt so good last night. It wasn’t that she hadn’t smelled other Omega pheromones before, but most of them made her uncomfortable. Even the elite Xie Muqing couldn’t give her that sense of ease. But last night was different.
Song Ziqing really could calm her down, allowing her entire body to relax into a state of blissful comfort. Just smelling her was enough to soothe her—something a synthetic suppressant could never do. A suppressant merely crushed the impulse, but Song Ziqing allowed her to release that impulse and then comforted her into a state of effortless relaxation.
However… the girl’s “technique” was truly lacking. She had spent the whole night kissing and fumbling, and Lu Qinnian felt as though she had simply been used as a high-quality body pillow. What a brat!
Qi Ling watched Lu Qinnian’s expression shift from soft to murderous. She teased lightly, “So, when you two did ‘that,’ it must have felt pretty good, right?”
“Don’t talk nonsense.”
Qi Ling immediately shut up, though she looked at the serious face with disbelief. “I heard about the party last night; it caused a riot. Could you really hold back?”
Seeing Lu Qinnian’s face turn a sickly shade of green, Qi Ling turned and handed over yet another report. “Look at this. I didn’t want to provoke you, but since you’re being so fierce, you deserve to see this!”
Lu Qinnian took it, and her lips twitched.
“Lu Kui: 100% match?”
“Lu Ge: 100% match?”
“As expected of a little ungrateful wolf! Even her pheromones have no morals!”
Lu Qinnian looked at Qi Ling with an unhappy glare. Qi Ling reached back and grabbed a whole stack of reports. “I was worried I’d made a mistake, so I tested her against several other Alphas. The result is…”
Qi Ling raised an eyebrow. “Song Ziqing has a compatibility of over 80% with almost every Alpha. With elite Alphas, she’s basically a 100% match across the board. In other words, she is the legendary ‘universal’ top-tier Omega.”
Lu Qinnian flipped through the stack of reports and suddenly stopped. “Yan Hui?”
Qi Ling smiled triumphantly. “I got a sample by chance and ran the match. It’s also 100%. And actually, she’s even more of a match than you are…”
“Nonsense! Based on what criteria?”
Qi Ling shrugged. “Personality, hobbies, way of interacting… for Qingqing, Yan Hui might actually suit her better.”
“Bullshit! That Yan woman isn’t worthy!” Lu Qinnian slammed the reports onto the desk in a rage.
Qi Ling couldn’t help but laugh. “Why so worked up? You do have one advantage over her.”
“What?”
Qi Ling gave a wicked grin. “Sex.”
Lu Qinnian’s face darkened. “…”
Because she had never seen such a high-quality Omega, let alone a universal one, Qi Ling had been very thorough in her testing and was eager to discuss it. “Basically, she’ll be most comfortable in bed with you, and you’re the most suitable for having children with her. Lu Kui is the best suited to take care of her, Lu Ge is the best for dating her, and Yan Hui is the best suited for her to have an affair with.”
Thump! Lu Qinnian slammed the table in a fury. Qi Ling jumped, watching the woman stand up. “Look at you, with that temper. You’ve lost your advantage already. She doesn’t like people with bad tempers.”
“What she likes is none of my business!” Lu Qinnian turned and stormed out of the room.
The hallway was empty. Lu Qinnian grew even more enraged. Where did that little wolf go? When I catch her, I’ll give her what for!
She stomped out of the hospital and heard the laughter of children from the courtyard. Song Ziqing was in the middle of a group of kids, chasing them around and playing. Lu Qinnian marched forward aggressively. “How old are you? Look at yourself!”
Song Ziqing jumped and turned around. Seeing the fear in her expression, Lu Qinnian suddenly froze. Qi Ling’s words about “not liking bad tempers” echoed in her ears like a curse. Lu Qinnian instinctively cleared her throat, and her tone softened. “Let’s go. Aren’t you hungry?”
Song Ziqing blinked blankly. Looking at the woman who had suddenly turned gentle, she felt a chill. Could she have been kissed so much last night that she’s now planning some elaborate revenge?
Seeing the girl unmoved, Lu Qinnian suppressed her irritation, trying her best to present the kindest persona she’d ever had in her life. In a voice as gentle as a devoted wife, she said, “I’ll take you to get something delicious.”
